Estella (10/5): - Very pleasant boutique lodgings for a budget price. The bedroom had beautiful wood-panelling while the bathroom looked brand new. Nice touches like daily glass bottles of mineral water. The property felt secure thanks to a touchpad entry system and the friendly bar staff let me store my luggage after checkout. Although the rooms are above a pub, it's not a partially raucous one and it closes at 11pm, so noise didn't cause an issue for sleeping.

Stephanie (10/5): - The Hanbury townhouse was amazing! Super comfy bed, very clean room, beautiful bathroom and considering we were in London it was very quiet! It was a very hot week when we visited but the Dyson fan in our room was so useful and kept us very cool, which is a huge added bonus as we find lots of hotels are uncomfortably hot. On arrival the staff were friendly and attentive despite being busy. We stayed for one evening as we were attending a concert nearby at Union Chapel and it was perfect for our stay. We would definitely stay here again without hesitation. Best place I’ve ever stayed in London.

Bryn (8/5): - Awesome little place with newly updated rooms. As someone not from the UK, being in a heatwave was rough in a room with no A/C, but I'm sure it's fine most of the year. Would have liked a top sheet as an option instead of a thick comforter for the heatwave. We had to remove the duvet cover and use it as a thinner blanket... But the Dyson fan did help a lot!
Bruce (10/5): - The accommodation is beautifully presented and all the fittings are of a high quality and spotlessly clean. The room was very comfortable and during a heatwave the provided fan was sufficient to keep the room cool enough to be confortable. I spent the evening in the pub (next door and also the reception for the property) which was also well presented and welcoming. I dindt try the evening menu, as I had rather a large lunch but the food emerging from the kitchen looked very appetising. This was a short (15mins?) walk from my client site in Islington and the walk, including crossing the canal, was both pleasant and easy to navigate. This will, no doubt, be my first port of call when visiting that area in the future. Great find.
gina (8/5): - The room was beautiful and offered good comfort the only issue was the lack of air con. We visited when the weather was in the 30°s and the room was like a sauna! Apart from that staff was amazing and theres a lovely bakery down the road.

Sompop (6/5): - Overall well maintained and cozy. Felt like newly refurbished. Quiet location. Although, the bar establishment can be loud, you cannot hear them on 2nd floor with all windows closed. Would have given 5 stars, however, we found that the keybox outside our room was unlocked, and another key to our room was in there. Probably used for cleaning staff. But that meant, everyone could have used that key to get into our room while we were sleeping or sightseeing. Unacceptable! Luckily, we had a room on the top floor, so not many are passing through. But it is still not okay nonetheless.

Christoph (10/5): Super friendly staff, clean, modern and spacious! - Super friendly staff, clean, modern and spacious! The pub downstairs is really nice too. The area itself is very quiet: meaning no nightlife and the next tube station is a bit of a walk - but there are many buses around. The only downsides: no fridge, no elevator and no breakfast - but there are bakeries nearby (my tip: "Cooks and Books"). Pricewise an absolute "No-Brainer" for a comfortable stay in London. Would come again.

Verified traveler (6/5): - It was a cute room but lacking information about the stay, no wifi password etc and no info was given when I checked in. there was quite a lot of noise bleeding through from the other rooms so I slept quite badly one night. Overall a good option for a cheaper stay but definitely more of a b&b than a hotel.

Mitch (6/5): Take Ear Plugs - 🌟 Smart but very noisy, if you don't mind the following, then this is the place for you. There's a noise nuisance from the pub below (customers, live music and open kitchen generator), single glazed windows mean the windows might as well be open 24/7, guests on the stairs, banging fire/bedroom doors, corridor and TV volume from poor sound poor proofing all could negative impact on your stay. Apart from that its a smart guesthouse in Islington.

If you hate noise then you need to know its above a pub that does live music at weekends but it closes at 11 pm. You get given a code to a door so its easy to come and go 24/7. Theres everything you need within walking sisrance.

Kevin (10/5): - A very newly renovated boutique hotel above a pub in a quiet residential part of islington. I stayed on the upper floor for a week in room 9 which was spacious, clean and it had all the comforts of home . Very modern and clean bathroom with an large shower - the large closet Included an ironing board and iron which I used before my meetings. The newest espresso machine was nice for morning coffee as was the large smart tv for keeping up on global news. The pub closes early at 11 pm so no concerns about noise . I will stay there again as it’s only 900 m from my destination on upper street, and I have already told friends about the Hanbury Townhouse.
Charles (10/5): Comfortable. - Second time we have stayed. This is a new property above a pub, room and room facilities very good. It has all you need for a comfortable overnight stay. However please consider it’s above a pub/restaurant (a very nice pub/restaurant!) so up to about 11pm there maybe noise. Buses close by.

Marie (10/5): A Gem in North London - We loved staying at the Hanbury Townhouse! The room was gorgeous in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The pub downstairs was a great place to gather. All the staff were very friendly ans welcoming. We will be back!
Annie (4/5): Beautiful but too much noise and too much light! - The Hanbury Townhouse is new, the room was beautifully appointed and we had a lovel bathroom. The problem was the noise from the Pub downstairs and the lack of noise insulation between the rooms. We could hear everything from the next room… Also, there was a lot of light from the outside lamps making the room very bright during the night. It resulted in no sleep and we stayed elsewhere on the second night as there was live music at the Pub downstairs. It is really sad since it was a veri place to stay. We are never going to stay there again.
