andres (6/5): - La ubicación es buena, las instalaciones amplias, el lugar es tranquilo y con poco ruido a pesar de que reserve con baño privado, el baño no estaba dentro de la habitacion si no afuera, si bien solo yo tenia acceso a la ducha y al sanitario, el lavamanos si estaba en una área con otros dos lavamanos, donde entraba mas gente, otra cosa es que no reciben transferencias , solo efectivo o tarjeta de crédito, Cuando le dije al personal de recepción sobre estas dos cosas su trato no fue el mejor

Inesss8 (8/5): - Angelita is adorable - always smiling and helpful. The room was very spaciius, clean and coilorful, Big communal area and good lication, walking distance from teleferico. Beds are stone-hard and the wals very thin, so you hear your neighbours.

Overall ok for the price - 1) private room at an ok price. 2) Reception guide explained how to do los nevados on our on. 3) vibe is nice, common aera are nice 4) nicely painted hostel 1) no activities available 2) no tour available, the only los nevados tour they suggested asked for 3 people min, and then confirmed, and then cancelled after all..? 3) Your private toilet / bathroom of your room can be literary at the other end of the Hostel. Not a huge deal for most people. Just make sure you book the rooms with bathroom connected to the room if you want to walk naked between both. 4) a bit loud street, and while the private rooms were on the other side of the street, all the doors are not insulated. You hear everything from next door and even from next house. (on Saturday you could hear the Club techno music until 2am and that club is at least a block away from the hostel) To be fair I slept well, it's not dramatically noisy. 5) reception guy was more interested in playing game on his computer than help sometimes. I expect a bit more from a hostel than... "just go in the street, lots of restaurants there" if I ask for some recomendations.. (to be fair again, he did help us to do the tour on our own.)

Nuestra habitación no tenía luz natural y únicamente contaba con una lámpara muy tenue a un lado de la cama además de la luz general, lo que la hizo muy oscura. Además, la principal razón de nuestra incomodidad fue el dormir en un colchón extremadamente duro.

Receptionist tried to give me a room with a shared bathroom even though I had booked a private bathroom. Had long discussion/disagreement. Not great but she gave me a private bathroom in the end.

Heather (9/5): Great hostel, perfect for an extended stay! - Great set up for extended stay/remote work set up with complete kitchen, plenty of social and work space, and comfortable rooms. Hostel and rooms have a great historical aesthetic, and location couldn't be better, just steps from the main square and a supermarket nearby. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It was pretty chilly at night, even in the room, so a warmer blanket would have been nice. Everything else was great!

The room was spacious, and I like the idea that every room has a private bathroom. There are also many places to relaxe and chill. The decorations are also very nice. It's unfortunate that it is right in the middle of downtown and it's pretty sketchy at night, but if you're careful not to go out alone it's probably fine. I was traveling alone and went to look for dinner, NO restaurants open in the area at 8 pm, and a lot of drug users around the area, so that's a shame

Bonnie (10/5): Exceptional and highly recommended - This is really a superb hotel/hostal, one of the very best I've stayed in during my 4 month backpacker adventure. Super clean, great staff, Netflix on a projector in a very comfortable space, a really excellent price. Manizales is clean and safe with lots to do, too. Highly recommended in every way. It would have been great to have the bathrooms closer to the dorm rooms, and personal lights and plugs in every bed in the dormitorios (this did not affect me because I was in a shared room by myself, amazingly!) But the rest more than made up for these small details. I wish that the breakfast was a buffet, too, but most places don't even include breakfast, anyway.

Virginia (7/5): It was adequate for a short stay and not expensive. - It was in a very convenient location in the centre of town. When we booked a room with "private bathroom" we expected the bathroom to open off the room. Instead, we had to go down the corridor to a space with adjoining washbasins for 2 rooms and "our" shower/toilet just behind. That's not what I call a private bathroom. The rooms all faced onto an inner courtyard, which could be noisy.

I do not usually stay at hostels, so it took me a little while to adjust to the fact of how barebone the room was: not enough furniture to unpack, no closet, etc. However, the beauty of the common space and the spaciousness more than compensated for it. Staff is nice and helpful, they also have a tour agency if needed. Very good and hot showers. Easy to meet other travellers: they have a game room, movie room and a common room. Adequate breakfast included in the price. Situated in a historic building. Beer and water sold with an honesty jar, so they actually show they trust the guests. Dorm is next to a big street, so bring ear plugs.

Tuomas (8/5): Beautiful hostel with a great location - The Hostel is exceptionally clean and interiors are very colourful. The common facilities are great and location very central. In the morning the doorbell didn't function and I couldn't find the WhatsApp number to contact. Even though it was not the check-in time, during the feria time would have been good to let the luggage there. During the Feria time, the noise from the street is occasionally high, so maybe the hostel could provide earplugs for those who are staying in the dorms with the windows facing to the street. Also arepas could be served those who cannot eat bread.

Lia (8/5): Good place to stay in Manizales, nice staff, not always tours available - Good hostal facilities, rooms were spacious, beds comfortable, nice common areas including roof top terrace. Tasty breakfast included, all day free coffee. Staff was very helpful, specially when i forgot something they tried everything to send it back to me with other travelers. Located close to the cathedral, quite far from the restaurant/bar area. Dorms have windows to the busy street, quite noisy during the night. The hostel offers tours to the Páramos and Los nevados, but only if there are enough people to join. So if you’re unlucky you bave to organize the tour on your own, wich can be difficult.

Sudhir (10/5): A Gem in a Busy Street, Right Above on Top - I have not words to explain it. Everything from start to finish was damn super good. From entrance it doesn't seems that huge up above on top. They have almost everything inside the property, if you want to spend time in the property itself. They have made sure that visitors can enjoy right inside , if they want to. Pool Game facility, PlayStation and what not. Common areas are spacious and comfy with lots of facilities and the owner's passion for details and to take care of every type of person is clearly visible. So, close to the the cable gondola station with a very short taxi ride. It is also at a walking distance from a huge main church. Its actually centro area of the the city and is very lively all day and evening. And, lastly the price for the stay is unmatched. Wonderful. In that street and surroundings there are no option for good food. One must go to Çhipre' if you want to have a nice dinner like Mexican, or pizza or some other good fast food, or something else. I always write this in reviews: There has to be an option for fruit juice at breakfast. And, it indeed was there. Nice juice for breakfast. Not sure, why another reviewer mentioned the non-availability of juice in his review. Now, I am wondering also , what would happen if a vegetarian person arrives at the facility, as they without even asking just provided us a 'French toast' with bread/egg layer and veggies. It was for sure very good for us. But what about a person who is 'pure vegetarian'. Just noticed. Nothing to worry for me though. So please inform first :-)

Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - I think this hostel was the best hostel I've ever stayed at! The staff is supernice and helpful, the common areas are extremely spacious, comfy and welcoming. The room was also amazing. The beds are 1,20m wide, there is a locker for every bed and every room is assigned to one bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and breakfast is included and super delicious!! I'm actually trying to find a reason to go back to Manizales so I can stay in this hostel again. :) That my stay was only two nights.

Friendly other hosts and personel who live in the hostel. Open space and atmosphere, which makes it easy to connect. Nice free perks like: all day coffee and tea, cinema room, billiard, game tv. Good location in downtown Manizales. 10-15 min walk from the bus station cable car. The bed is huge, but a little hard.

The kitchen was probably the most organised I have ever seen, making it really easy to cook in. And Great location and easy to get around. Met some lovely other travellers and the hostel were really helpful to get us the experience of los nevados park that we all wanted. I would highly encourage anyone to stay at this hostel ! The keys to the dorms were a bit of a challenge to unlock doors
Esmé (10/5): Exceptional - I had an amazing stay at the Golden Frog. The hostel is bright, colorful and pottlessly clean. There are so many spaces for chilling and relaxing. A huge "living room, with comfortable sofas and a big dinning table. There is a hime cinema room (I watched 4 movies in three days), a video game and a billard space. The kitchen is incredible. The staff is absolutely lovely and makes you feel right at home. If you are missing the comfort of your home after traveling (for very long) this is the place to be and relax. Manizales itself is a lovely city as well. Dorms are huge, beds are a bit hard but I found them comfortable. Big lockers for everyone. The only thing I would advise is to bring earplugs, but really, who travels without them? The dorms face the street and it can be a little loud at night.
Eibhlín (8/5): Exceeded expectations - would recommend - The hostel common rooms were spacious, comfortable and had many different areas to chill and be entertained - we used the TV room with a protector with chrome cast. Kitchen was excellent and free breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend Origin Coffee Tour (leaflet on the table) it was an amazing wholesome family owned coffee tour. The beds in the 4 bed dorm were rock hard, however they were wide. The ladder was not secure. Also, the bathrooms were quite far from the dorm we stayed in. There was one worker that was a loud talker and pushy about doing a tour in the mountains.

Sarah (9/5): Superb - Such a cute colourful hostel! Really loved all the multiple common areas. Nice breakfast around a communal table. My room was also very spacious! Great location in the centre of the old town.

Pablo (10/5): Lovely place, very peaceful and excellent service all around. - The ambience and service is great. It's also surprisingly calm and quiet despite being inside a very busy downtown area. Breakfast is delicious, too!
