Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): - The location is excellent - opposite a park with a Sunday market and within easy reach of a supermarket and cafes. There is also a bus on the next street.
- Susan (9/5): Home away from home! - Great location and quiet neighborhood! Fruit, tea and coffee and bathroom Shampoo, conditioner and body wash was appreciated. Very bright and spacious place as well.
- Adrian (10/5): Excellent apartments..highly recommended.. - Excellent location..handy to public transport and shops.. very quiet, warm, and comfy apartment with everything you need..beautiful park across the road which is always busy with sports activities going on..grocery stores, liquor stores, and chemist store 1 block away for all your requirements..purchased compass card from there and walked and travelled everywhere on public transport buses ,trains and ferry, to Templeton shops,Grouse Mountain,Capilano suspension bridge, north Vancouver,Gas town,Stanley Park.local beaches where we saw 2 whales near kitsilano..hosts William and Jennifer were lovely and let us store our bags on last day..highly recommended
- Christina (8/5): Good basement unit in a fabulous location with very helpful hosts. - Fantastic location as it’s opposite the park, and very close to shops and public transport.
Lovely bright lounge as per picture. Private. Other rooms are a good size with everything I needed.
Hosts very helpful with rapid responses. As it’s a basement suite, kitchen and bedroom have less light but that is expected.
- Diarmuid (10/5): 2 Week visit to Vancouver - Everything was great, the location was perfect & just a short walk to Broadway for shops, restaurants, bus links, etc. The hosts. William & Jenny, were easily available, helpful and friendly and provided a lovely welcome pack and fresh fruit on arrival which was much appreciated. We had no complaints. We'd highly recommend this accommodation and hope it's available for our next trip
. Many thanks to William & Jenny.

- Maureen (10/5): - Spacious bright suite, very well equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Within walking distance of everything Kitsilano has to offer. The hosts were very accommodating. Will be back!

- Maria Eugenia (10/5): Magnífica atención!! - Estupendo
- Jessica (8/5): Comfortable and easy access to public transportation to reach downtown Vancouver. - Nice and quiet location, felt safe. Easy to access public transportation to downtown Vancouver. We identified the house number by looking at the two neighbors, no clear number on the property. It was somewhat anxiety provoking to hope we had the right property, especially after seeing a dog when we went through the gate. We are animal lovers, and as such we respect that if an animal feels you are intruding it may rightfully attack. Thankfully this didn’t happen and we were in the right place, but we would have felt better with clear demarcation of the house number.

- Bruce (8/5): Nice area - It had everything needed for a self contained stay and the buses were easy to find and the supermarkets are close. It does need alittle bit of maintenance but for its age it is ok.
- Richard (8/5): Spacious and comfortable -
- Alexandra (8/5): We would return 🥰.Thank You ! - Location : close to park, lovely neighbour hood , we could walk over to restaurants about 12-15 min away. One pub was even closer
Suite is cozy.
Overall very very comfortable there. Suite is spacious, I felt at home. Can barely hear kids playing upstairs Bed was comfortable. Had all we needed in kitchen .
Easy to communicate with Just concern more for safety:
One block on pathway is lifted. Can easily trip on dark/ day time. Encouraged to have that fixed -levelled
Bathroom doors appear need to be replaced. I think visually unappealing (cracks ) also one door does not close smoothly. Pocket door hard to open. Yet it’s just two of us so we weren’t necessarily bothered but these days with price overnight stays everywhere I hope owners will consider a few adjustments.
Outside of that we enjoyed home. Comfortable
- P (8/5): - Very good size, clean and in lovely location near sports field. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance in Kitsilano. Easy self check in and helpful hosts. Welcome fruit bowl appreciated! All good
- t (9/5): Absolutely brilliant and so happy with the whole experience. - Everything about the property was brilliant! It was clean, comfortable and quiet. It was super easily accessible to the attractions of downtown and across the street from a park which hosted a farmer's market on my last full day in Vancouver.
Jenny and William were brilliant hosts and even though they were above us, it was so quiet. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to everyone I know! A cheese grater would be nice.
- Bev (8/5): - The place was lovely. Such an excellent surprise to see that Netflix was included in the price! The bed was very comfortable! Everything very clean! It was really nice to know that the family was close by if I needed any assistance. They were very friendly and approachable. Advertisement did not clearly state that this was a basement apartment. I normally stay away from basement apartments. It was a bit of a disappointment for me as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and cool dampness really affects my body when sleeping in this environment.
However there were a lot of advantages in staying at this place that I could not overlook!

- Mark (10/5): Great location and comfortable base for a stay in Vancouver - We chose this apartment in Kitsilano as a base for an 8 day stay in Vancouver as it gave us a good base to travel into the city and elsewhere. It offers access to a vibrant community on its doorstep for supplies and offers an alternative away from the city for bars and restaurants with a local vibe within a few minutes walk. We liked the Regal Beagle as a friendly sports and music bar on Broadway.
The apartment has a good sized double bedroom with an en-suite which can also be accessed from the open living area. There is large sitting room with a sofa bed and large TV. The kitchen/dining area is well equipped with a range style hob/oven, microwave, kettle and coffee maker plus a fridge freezer. Also there is a dishwasher.
The apartment was very clean and we didn't need to wash anything before we used it. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer plus iron/ironing board.
The hosts greeted us on arrival but left us alone during our stay. If we needed anything I'm sure they would have helped out. It was nice that they provided us with a stocked fruit bowl, a full jar of ground coffee plus tea bags and sugar and basic seasonings. Also there was washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs and laundry powder.
It is possible to get on one of the many regular buses into Vancouver city from a number of nearby stops. You can use cash (no change given) or tap on/off using a card. Fares are very reasonable - just over C$2 for this 65+ traveller. Ubers into Vancouver city were about C$15 and seemed plentiful.
The park opposite the apartment is a pleasant green space. There is a local farmers market every Sunday on this park. We had a very comfortable stay - so nothing to report
- Tiffany (10/5): Wonderful! - Adorable basement unit within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Clean and quaint with a complimentary bowl of fruit. Private check-in/checkout. This suite was perfect for our stay. The field across the street can get a little rowdy during the day. But hey, if you're visiting Vancouver, you're probably not spending a whole lot of time cooped up inside anyhow.
- Li (7/5): Good - The welcoming fruit and cozy bed The floor is uneven and the carpet was a bit dirty
- Hailey (7/5): Good affordable stay - This is a good option for an affordable stay in a great neighborhood. The bed was comfortable with perfectly clean fresh sheets and towels. A bowl of fresh fruit in the kitchen was a nice touch. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend to friends looking for an affordable place to stay. A few improvements could be made to create a more comfortable stay for guests. Providing shampoo / conditioner, or oil for cooking would be really helpful.
Flat could be more clean overall- some stains on the wall and bathroom floor. Overall the apartment feels a bit run down. This basement flat is a bit noisy when people are home upstairs- you can hear footsteps and water going through pipes. That being said it is still a good option if you are ok with these details.
- Catherine (8/5): Very good -
- Chi-wai (9/5): Lovely stay, perfect location close to UBC and just 10-15 minutes to downtown. - Fantastic place to stay while in Vancouver area, especially with its proximity to UBC (for college visit)! Highly recommend for its location in a lovely residential area, yet close to restaurants and retail. Easy parking, easy check-in and out. Cozy 1 BR, great for couples, or small families. Safe neighborhood and very tranquil, with access to a park just across the street.
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - Really great basement suite in peaceful quiet part of Kitsilano right by the park. Cozy generous lounge space to relax in, with sunshine in the morning at cute breakfast table, and lamps and blankets in the evening. Nice interior. Comfy bed and sheets, good kitchen, laundry, everything you need. Easy private access, and very close walking distance to shops, supermarket, good food, and right on the bus lines between the city and UBC. Hope to visit again next time
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - Great stay - lots of on street parking and the location was very convenient. Everything we needed for a nice overnight in Vancouver. We didn't have time but there is an ice rink is across the street!
- Finka (10/5): The house is charming and very good location. Close to many restaurants. - easy check-in, no hassle. The hosts are very responsive and helpful! Very accommodating as well. The suite is supplied with everything we needed for the stay. And the welcome chocolate and fruits are much appreciated. Definitely helped me out on my morning/night snack.
- Mason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bill (8/5): Very good - Host had great communication and were very accommodating when my arrival was delayed until almost midnight. The apartment was clean and had everything needed for a comfortable stay and is located in a part of town I love.
- Kerry (8/5): Lovely stay - Very comfortable bed. Lovely shower Little noisy overhead
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was roomy, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The host were very accommodating and helpful. The location was perfect. If you want to be out of downtown Vancouver but close to bus lines and in walking distance from anything you may need this is the place. If you like sushi try Temaki on Broadway. Also you can workout at the Kitsilano community center for a small fee. just blocks away.
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalia (9/5): Great space, clean, nice self-checking setup, having washer and dryer was helpful. I recommend. -
- David (10/5): Spacious, bright home away from home - We loved this bright and spacious basement apartment near Connaught Park. The hosts, who live above the flat, were very responsive to our needs and quick to answer all of our questions. The inside of the flat was bright, clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. Too bad we came at a cold time of year, otherwise we would’ve taken advantage of the patio, too. We liked that the house is set away from the hustle and bustle and that it felt like living in a real neighborhood. The best part is that we still found great recreation, coffee, groceries, and restaurants a short walk away. Highly recommended!
- Sandy (8/5): It suited our purposes and we would probably book again. - Very comfortable basement suite. Really appreciated the fruit basket. Bed was good, towels were nice. Has a nice open feel to it and great location across from a park. Lots of heat pouring into the bathroom and bedroom. Had to open the window at night to cool it down a bit.
