• Rochelle (10/5): We had a great time, really appreciated Greg going out of his way to get our items back to us in Melbourne. Will definit - Property located close to the town. There is a soccer net and ball provided, which my son really enjoyed. Everything was neat and clean and exactly as in the photos. The fireplace was great, with wood provided, really heated up the inside nicely! We forgot some clothing items and Greg was extremely helpful bringing them back to Melbourne for us. Greg supplied great information before our arrival, we wouldn’t have known to visit Raymond Island otherwise! This was the highlight of our trip, we saw loads of koalas! There wasn’t really anything we didn’t like.
• Kim Wormald (10/5): Very comfortable in quiet rural area, just like home. - It was just like being at home. Very spacious in a nice quiet location but still close to the town and the marina. Plenty of off street parking. Everything was fine, facilities were great.

• Alison (9/5): Fairview Lakeside Cottage Metung was a perfect place for us to enjoy a stress-free Summer holiday. - Greg was clear in his communication about how to access the property: door code provided and how to use for entry and locking. Easy and secure. Personal to our stay and no possibility of losing keys. Lots of towels and a very well equipped kitchen. We liked the clear explanation/requests for assisting with maintaining the property at the beginning and the end of our stay. Loved the view from the deck, the large living area, the comfortable beds, hearing and seeing the local wildlife. If anything, we would have appreciated a dishwasher in the kitchen, and knowledge about specific bin day prior to the morning of departure. These were not deal-breakers for us though.

• Niroshinie (5/5): One night stay - Beds were very comfortable. Clean linen. Bedrooms were clean. Room with bunk beds not used- no comment. One bathroom- clean. Shower pressure was satisfactory. View from the balcony was lovely- relaxing. Would have been more enjoyable in sunny weather. Unfortunately it rained through the night into the next day. Close to metung village by car. The driveway is quite steep and difficult to reverse into, especially in low light. The entry stairs are also steep, making it hard to move luggage and not ideal for elderly guests. The living room had an unpleasant smell—cleaning the sofas and removing the brown covers might help. The property feels a bit dated and looks different from the photos, especially the water views, which seemed much closer online. It would be nice to have some fresh milk provided in fridge for a coffee or tea on arrival. The walk to Metung village felt a bit unsafe, so we chose to drive instead.

• Bede (8/5): Really enjoyable. - Liked that the place was really clean. The bed was really comfortable. Full Kitchen. Loved the coffee machine. Plenty of hot water. Private accomodation. So peaceful and quiet. Girls need 2 towels. 1 for washing hair. Plus a container for tea but not one teabag in sight. Usually courteous to leave some milk.
• Marnie (9/5): Stunning balcony views, very clean, very comfortable, a gorgeous country retreat. - Very clean and comfortable. Incredible veiws and very comfortable beds. Was missing kitchen plug, firelighters and matches- advised owner but these were not supplied during a 3 night stay unfortunately. This meant no fire the first night.

• Susan (8/5): A cosy winter break - It was warm and cosy with a wood heater and plenty of wood. Short drive into town or to the Hit Springs.
• Lisa (7/5): Great relaxing house to stay - Location, view, peace Cooking pans, no cleaning for kitchen wettex, or dish liquid was nearly empty, no rubbish bags,, no bbq on desk, no soaps, shampoo etc in bathroom for weekend stay, minimal issues but essentials
• Stephen (8/5): We had a very relaxing time with great weather during the day and a fire to warm us at night - The property was situated in an ideal location just far enough out of town to provide a quiet and peaceful stay for a relaxing holiday. The views were fantastic over the rural valley from the back deck of the house.

I rented the place because it had a wood fire....there wasn't enough wood for our stay but the owner quickly and efficiently rectified it! Beds were super comfy with awesome fluffy pillows. Great little place! highly recomend The property was clean except for the many spider webs on window sills inside. Also didn't provide bin liners or cleaning cloths for kitchen.. but otherwise nice place.

• Neil (8/5): Peaceful & relaxing stay - The cottage is in a lovely bush setting close enough to the town centre & far enough to be quiet. The big deck is perfect to relax with a glass of wine. Greg is a super host - provided clear instructions on access, location, things to do & local tips. 10/10 for his efforts! Nothing really, everything was good. Would be happy to come back for another stay.

Greg is a wonderful host and the house has everything required for a comfortable stay. I even love washing the dishes as the view from the sink makes it enjoyable! We will be back again.

Also a long list of instructions about what we should and should not do while on the property. Says air conditioned, but only in the kitchen/lounge area, not in bedrooms and no towel rails in the bathroom with no toilet door.
• James (9/5): Peaceful and Relaxing Stay - We had a fantastic stay at Fairview Lakeside Cottage in Metung. It was peaceful, perfect for relaxing, and just 3–4 minutes from the town centre. The cottage was clean, well-equipped, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. A great spot for a quiet getaway, highly recommended! The only downside was that the location wasn’t ideal for walking around the area

• Karen (5/5): Needs some love - Comfy beds The main living space/kitchen had a bit of an unpleasant smell to it upon our arrival which was a bit ironic given the ‘welcome’ message about not cooking shell fish in the house due to it creating a bad smell. The place was superficially clean but lots of spots needed a dust. The declaration in the welcome message that there was no oil/salt/pepper/tin foil/cling film provided and we must bring our own just felt a bit stingy and unwelcoming - those things would be so easy/cheap to provide (all of the other places we stayed on this trip did so). Sadly it had an overwhelming feel of being a business enterprise rather than a loved holiday home.

• Catherine (10/5): Lovely visit, we will stay here next time we come to Metung. - Lovely property, very well located, and well appointed (bedding, towels, and firewood provided!). The kitchen is also well stocked with a good variety of equipment, though the knives are not super sharp; you may want to BYO one. The house slept us all comfortably and the heating was quick to warm the house up until the fire got going. Beautiful view over the valley, the balcony is a lovely spot to sit with a cup of tea first thing in the morning :) The kitchen window looks out over the deck, so even doing the dishes you get to enjoy the bird life. The owner sent us a whole bunch of useful info the day before we arrived. The driveway is quite steep so do be careful! Also worth noting that the toilet is in the main bathroom so there can be a little bit of queuing if you have lots of people. The right door was a little tricky to find - we arrived in the dark (middle of winter...) so it took a few minutes to figure out it was up the stairs.

Compendium did not include instructions for heater, coffee machine etc. Driveway very awkward. Perhaps some gravel off side of concrete. Could not see past vehicles on verge next door when exiting. Milk frother had been left damp then sealed. Smelly, therefor I refrained from using it. Suggest a towel rail above the heater in bathroom. Move mirror to door? A mention of the steps online would be nice. Earlier checkin?

• Meghan (10/5): A perfect home with everything you need for a holiday, beautiful outlook and not far from town. - Our family really enjoyed the place, it’s a really comfortable holiday home with everything you need. The furnishings are nice and comfortable, the kitchen has everything required, the beds are comfy, and the towels and linen are great quality. A beautiful outlook and not too far from town. We loved everything! Not a major issue, just the S bend to get down to town is a bit dangerous to walk, we solved this by just hopping in the car and parking at the the bottom of the bend, and having a lovely walk into the town along the boardwalk.

The house was clean and had very comfortable beds. The view from the back deck was beautiful and peaceful. It was easy to get into the house with simple instructions from the owner. I would go back again and recommend it. An extra t towel and a shower caddy.

We love the fire place. The house was very comfortable. Only two thing we didn't like: number 1 was the hot and cold tub in the shower was backward Number 2 was after the power went out due to a storm, the oven would't work due the clock work.

Comfortable, warm and great TV if that's your thing. - The heaters worked very well We had not planned on cooking evening meals so not having a dishwasher was Ok but for a longer stay would have been handy. Also noticed the shower was not draining. Appears a build up of stuff around drain plug.

Very dangerous location as neighbours park in such a position that means you are blindly driving across oncoming traffic. Suggest a mirror on opposite side of road.

The tranquility of the surroundings paired perfectly with the cozy comforts of the lodge, creating a peaceful retreat that rejuvenated my soul. The bed was slightly too firm for my preference, but I understand that it's impossible to find the perfect bed that suits everyone's needs.
• Renee (10/5): Highly recommend! 10/10 definitely would come back! - Fresh, comfy good quality bed linen (not kmart cheap crap) House not cluttered, super comfy homely and clean. The balcony was my favourite with its beautiful view. Loved our stay overall If I HAD to pick something, it would be no milk in the fridge (I love my tea). That's my ONLY fault. 🫢
• Phuong (10/5): very good stay for a family, handy location! - The location is very handy. 20mins drive to Lake Entrance or 10 mins down to Metung for boat hire. The view was stunning, it never bored me even with a day of doing nothing. Greg is very nice and responsive, the cottage is very clean and in top condition. We will absolutely come back. The setup was perfect. I would suggest you could leave some room spray...actually candle was good. With a couple of small shampoos, shower gel, and some candy then you have 5 stars hotel but of course, it's not that necessary. :)
