Guest Reviews
- Jason (10/5): -
- carol (9/5): - A fantastic quirky spot..loved all the little touches. The old school teas made. the world globe, the bluetooth speaker which could be moved to the fab breakfast nook in the steering cabin of the boat.
The beautiful stained glass in the door way. . My only issue and it really isn't one the shower was extremely hot and i couldn't get it cooled down.
- Robert (10/5): A true experience which everyone should try. - A unique experience. Breakfast on the Thames is an experience not to be missed.
- Tom Mcnally (9/5): - Quirky place but great, owners have single room to let with exclusive shower and bathroom
Location quiet, you can catch TFL boat up the river 1 min walk to the pier
- Robert (8/5): Ahoy London - Situated at Wandsworth Pier with easy access to the Uber Clipper or Wandsworth Town train station for easy access to London. Tomasz is the perfect host welcoming you on arrival, going through everything with you and letting you choose your time for breakfast. A continental breakfast is brought to you by Tomasz each morning to eat within the picturesque wheelhouse.
You are the only guest on the boat which adds to the exclusivity of the experience.
If you are looking for somewhere that gives you easy access to all the tourist sites of London while staying in a quiet, safe area at a good price, look no further. A few things I would add to the room would be somewhere to hang your coat, glasses as well as cups to drink out of and maybe some cutlery for eating a takeaway.
There is no TV but this definitely didn't bother us as we were away most of the day and the view is enough to take in.
- Simon (9/5): - Very individual and a real treat if you like boats and being on the water. She is a lovely vessel, dating back to 1906, but furnished in minimalist mid-century style. My host Tomasz was friendly and personable, but left me in peace. A nice continental breakfast was delivered personally and eaten in the wheelhouse while watching a heron and cormorants catching their breakfast. The sound of planes is a constant reminder that you are in London. If you are after hotel style facilities obviously you'd be better in a hotel, for me I was happy with the constraints of living aboard a real boat.
- Aifric (10/5): - I would highly recommend Ahoy London. Bed was comfy, breakfast was perfect and the view topped everything - great experience.
- sarah (10/5): - It was absolutely stunning. I have never stayed in such a unique place and space.
Before we had even stepped aboard Tomas was friendly, helpful and we knew a warm welcome was ahead of our stay.
When we arrived Tomas welcomed us, showed us our amazing accommodation and then in the morning breakfast was served to our door.
The wheelhouse was such a stunning and special space. Where you could watch the world go by on the river and land, whilst munching on the best fresh coffee and freshly baked croissants.
We will definitely be back Just that we had to leave! Wish we had booked for longer! Hehe!
- Lewis (8/5): A wonderful experience! - Breakfast served by Thomas was brilliant. A very comfortable bed. Also has a great shower and toilet facilities onboard.
- Dale (9/5): Lovely quirky stay which might float your boat. - Lovely quirky stay in great location. Really nice to look over the river at night plus really close to river taxi (Uber Boat). It wasn’t an issue for us, but you do have to be careful around the stairs up to the wheel house and when moving around up there.
- Catherine (9/5): Quirky and characterful stay immersed in the wonderful wildlife of the Thames. - It’s character. Immersive Thames experience. Great location. Sense of occasion to mark a birthday. Nothing. Maybe somewhere to hang clothes up?
- Ruth (10/5): Great value, great experience - This boat stay was a truly unique experience. Situated close to Putney where I attended an event. The bed was very comfortable, the continental breakfast was lovely and delivered at a time of our choosing. Friendly host. Nothing
- Moore (8/5): - We liked that is a privilege to stay in a boat on The Thames. It is a boat so space is quirky and agility required.
- Natalia (9/5): -
- Chuyan (10/5): -
- FAYE (8/5): - Beautiful boat
- Robert (10/5): Ein unverbindliches Erlebnis, absolut empfehlenswert.
- DANIELE (10/5): Best staying in London - The place is amazing, Thomas is the best host ever!
- megan (10/5): Waterside living in London- a very memorable stay - A refreshing alternative to a hotel room. Much more spacious than it looks. Loved being in the river- mesmerising watching the world go by. We stayed in December and it was very cosy. One side of bed up against the wall, but that’s a feature if a cabin bed.
Nichts.
Die Bilder hier auf Booking geben nicht wieder, wie schön es da ist.
- Brodie (10/5): - What an amazing host and place! Very friendly and hospitable. Ticked every box, would definitely stay again!
- Jack (10/5): -

- Léa (9/5): - Notre hôte était très sympathique et attentionné. Le petit déjeuner était fabuleux. Merci pour tout
- Parish (10/5): -
- Ifor (10/5): Great experience and very cozy. The host was extremely welcoming ! - Great location and very cozy. The host was brilliant and welcoming
- Paul (7/5): Really good, great host. Fantastic location - Very acceptable, the pastries could have been warmer No complaints
- fred (9/5): - This is a fantastic and quirky venue. What could possibly better a cabin on a historic Dutch barge on the River Thames. The cabin was clean cosy and functional. The host was very welcoming and understanding Only the fact I couldn't stay longer
- Kurt (10/5): -
- Manuela (10/5): Perfect stay - Hands down one of my favourite stays ever!
Am definitely coming back.
The atmosphere is very relaxing and unique.
Slept like a baby.
The area is away from crazy busy London city, very local and no tourist traps.
Right next to Uber boat for an easy and smooth transfer to town.
Host really warm and nice.
- Denise (9/5): Really enjoyable, and made a big difference to the weekend experience - Breakfast very good. Location great. Owner very helpful Bed was a little soft for our taste.
Drawers were a bit dusty.
- Gary (10/5): - The Moorings felt very safe, Thomas explained everything thoroughly to us regarding getting on and off the boat. The boat itself was over 100 years old, so it held so much history. We had a very comfortable sleep and in the morning we went up to the wheel house for breakfast , Thomas brought a basket filled with fruit and pastries and juice and a lovely fresh pot of tea. Eating breakfast we watched a Grey Heron on the near by boat, ducks and moorhens paddled around the boat. The london skyline was in view. It's a very quirky place to stay. We loved it. Toiletries are provided and the towels and bedding smelt fresh and clean. There was nothing that we didn't like.
- Vicky (10/5): Relaxing quirky stay on the waters in London - Quirky stay on a fab old boat. Excellent travel links around the city. Friendly hosts and great breakfast. Nothing
- Justine (9/5): -
- Clive (10/5): #Ahoy there! - I love being on the water, whether it be on a large cruise ship or a river boat. #Ahoy is an old working boat and that should be borne in mind when booking. She's quirky and fun. I loved my time aboard! The area is lovely and convenient for transport into central London. You need to be fairly agile to get around the boat. There are a few tricky steps so anyone with mobility problems would find it difficult. I was careful and had no problems.
Merci beaucoup.
- Jennie (10/5): Booking our stay on the boat with Ahoy London was our best decision! If you are packing in lots and lots of sightseeing - We love the uniqueness of staying on a boat! The waves and birds and sounds of the river rocked us to sleep every night! Having our breakfast (yummy croissants, fresh, fruit, and yogurt, coffee, and tea ) and a few take away dinners up in the wheelhouse was so peaceful! Our hosts were so kind and gave us tips and advice whenever we asked❤️ We loved almost everything about it! If you are not into, or not able to walk, to the mooring from the tube station (about 15-17 min walk from the Putney Bridge stop) we would recommend you stay on the other side of the river… However, we really liked coming out out of the busy hectic city and unwinding with our peaceful walk through the park and the quiet neighborhood feel of Point Pleasant! Prospect Moorings was another world with houseboats of all varieties!!
- Stuart (9/5): Unique & fun stay on a boat - Gorgeous 1 night stay on this houseboat! The rooms were so cute and cosy, and the location right by Wandsworth is incredibly peaceful. Loved the warm welcome, the cosy interior, the views from the breakfast room / bridge (!) n/a
- Stephan (9/5): - Plek en omgeving
- Jing (8/5): - Very good host service and lovely location and good breakfast, it was a wonderful stay in London with family. Thank you very much!
- Lorna (8/5): A truly unique experience. - We loved our Ahoy London stay. We loved the location and the host was very helpful.
Loved breakfast in the wheel room. There as nothing we disliked although it might not suit everyone.
- Benedek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Wonderful - Everything perfect, hosts very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Bed was so comfortable and access to the boat pretty easy. Very walkable and lovely area!
- Rosie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Quirky, comfortable stay on a lovely little house boat and the host was very friendly and helpful. - It was quirky, comfortable and in a great location. The breakfast was lovely too and such a unique fun place to eat our breakfast. The street light kept me awake, but that was my fault because there were boards to pull across the window and I was too tired to get out of bed to move them.
- Denise (9/5): Pleasant , quiet environment…not what you would expect to find in London - 2nd time staying here. Great breakfast , Thomas very helpful, great recommendation for place for dinner. Excellent value for money and super location
- Fay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (10/5): Very friendly host and a lovely place to stay. Great to be on the water and very handy for the town. - Loved the location. Something very different and interesting. Very comfortable. The room and breakfast area are light and airy. Nothing.
- Mary (9/5): Perfect for what we needed and wanted. Thank you. - As part of our walk along the Thames it couldn't have been bettered, to have the opportunity to stay on a boat on the Thames. It made a great place to stay over night just before we got into the busyness of central London, enabling us to walk right through London and on to Greenwich in one day. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast perfect and beautifully presented. The bed was comfortable and we were plenty warm enough, and it was a pleasure to sit in the wheelhouse and watch life on the Thames. Perhaps the hardest thing was that the toilet and bathroom were not directly attached to the accommodation and down several stairs - but if you are staying on a boat, you can't expect such luxuries! And, considering that they were on a boat, they were great - nothing like camping!
- Jinxi (10/5): very comfortable -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dee (8/5): Very good -
- Walters (10/5): Perfect - This is my second stay at Ahoy London. And it was just a great as my first trip. The boat is cosy and homely. The hosts are warm, welcoming and accommodating. The location is only a short walk from tubes and buses.
- Shelley (10/5): Brilliant - Thomas was friendly and attentive, whilst respecting our privacy within his own home.
The experience of staying on the boat moored on the themes was unique. The bedroom was bigger than expected, very comfortable and homely.
The breakfast was fresh and tasty.
Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone. As we stayed in winter, as expected it was cold, but the host did his upmost to make the room warm and comfortable, which certainly improved our experience. So not really a dislike.
- Sohil (8/5): Very good -
- Rosie (10/5): Cute, comfy stay on the river. - Súper comfy accommodation with lovely decor and charm. The breakfast in the wheel house was so lovely. We really loved the novelty of being on a boat for a night in London and it was very comfortable. I don’t think there was anything negative about the accommodation.
- Klaudia (9/5): Great value for money - I really enjoyed the breakfast and the fact that I could make myself some tea at any given moment with the device that is provided in the room. The owners are so very cool, very easy to strike a conversation with. The location is great, too! Nights are quiet but the public transport is accessible. The only disadvantage was the heating, but mind you - I stayed in mid-December. It was mostly noticeable when getting out of the shower to go to the room. Aside from that, I really enjoyed my time there :)
- Jane (8/5): Very good -
- Calum (9/5): A cozy and well-equipped spot filled with charm. - The facilities and furnishings were modern, clean and worked perfectly considering the fact its on a boat. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the breakfast area is a lovely place to sit and take in the quiet and pretty locale. Thomas the host was very helpful, happy to work around whatever our schedule was going to be during our stay. being next to Putney park in one direction and Wandsworth Town in the order, made the walk to nearby amenities very pleasant, its a lovely area. A very fun and different place to stay in London, but not lacking in comfort or quality at all. The sink in the toilet is very small, and the mirror is just a small hand-mirror propped up in a nook above it. Understandable, but it made shaving quite difficult.
- Timothy (10/5): Hugely enjoyable stay and a very warm welcome - Fab decor, very quiet and obviously extremely unusual! Particularly enjoyed the view from the wheelhouse Not all the windows were shaded - would recommend bringing a sleep mask
- Jonok12 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (7/5): Host was friendly and helpful -
- Denise (10/5): Great location within easy reach by boat from central Lonfon - Comfortable, quiet, very relaxing and quirky accommodation. Excellent breakfast provided by helpful host . Would definitely stay there again
- Erika (8/5): Very good experience on a boat - The location is superb and the space itself inside the boat is amazing.
Friendly hosts
Nice idea of breakfast, basic but good I'd improve the quality of pillows, very thin and soft, and facilities in the toilet - I understand it's a small space but a little mirror and something to hang up the toiletries would be great.
Not much privacy
- Joni (10/5): A perfect autumnal, tidal, stay. - I loved every minute of this stay.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and kind and the facilities were even better than I expected.
The bed was incredibly comfortable and I had one of the best nights sleep I've ever had (insomniac).
I spent all evening sat in the wheel house just watching the dancing light on the river.
....and there was breakfast too which I wasn't expecting at all.
Fresh coffee, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, and juice.
Everything was wonderful. Nothing to not like at all.
- Viv (10/5): Wow...fabulous - Was easy to find. The hosts were really lovely and helpful. Super comfy bed, lovely big room and the wheelhouse has great views. Breakfast was lovely. Will def be going back to stay again.
- David (10/5): Fantastic end to our holiday. - Stunning location on the river and brought back happy memories. Perhaps a little triangular shelf on the far side of the bed for a cup /oddments.
Clearer location identity and boat name/number on the buzzer and the boat.
- Rhys (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely service and a beautiful place to stay with a partner, host was perfect, didn’t mind us staying a bit over checkout, bringing us our breakfast plus offering tea and coffee and just overall lovely. would highly recommend and will be coming back :)
- Gina-maree (9/5): Superb -
- Deborah (9/5): I wish it could have gone on longer! - It’s very unusual. I love the idea of being able to stay on a boat, even if it’s just for the novelty value. Lovely room with access to top of the boat for breakfast, with views across the Thames. Lovely comfy bed I could have slept in for much longer. Our hosts were great, very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had our breakfast when we needed it (we had an early start the next day). They helped orientate us with the area as well as the boat itself. It was just different, not the usual pre-packaged identikit-hotel. The top step to the bathroom was a bit precarious as it was a different height to the others but that was the only thing.
- Georgina (8/5): Unique, comfortable and easily accessed. - Loved being in the river. Having complete access to the boat’s wheelhouse, which was off the bedroom. The owners were lovely and very helpful.
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Janina (10/5): Exceptional - Where to start? Thomas is probably the nicest Hist I have ever encountered. The Breakfast was delicious, the room was just perfect and if we had a question or needed recommendations, Thomas would help.
A short 15-minute walk to the next Underground, 5 minutes to the next Bus Station and on the pier "next door" is a station for the Thames Clipper.
We loved it and will definetly book again for our next trip to London!
- Laura (10/5): Highly recommend. Great hosts and a unique place to stay. - Very unique. Lovely hosts. Comfortable. Breakfast was great.
- Walters (8/5): A nice warm and homely place.i would definitely stay here again - The property was very unique. Homely, with great views. The hosts were exceptional and welcoming The windows didn't have any curtains in the room with bed, which made it abit awkward to get changed
- Richard (10/5): A perfect location right on the Thames - close to parks, shops & local nightlife. - A perfect location right on the Thames - close to parks, shops & local nightlife. less than 10 min walk to the train station with links across London.
- Oscar (9/5): Superb -
- Willis (10/5): A 'boatiful' experience! - Great location, charming room, and lovely breakfast!
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Gail (10/5): A One-off Experience that I very much hope to repeat, ha ha ha! - I LOVE this place, location fab, hosts fab, simple, stylish, understated decor but totally in keeping with the vibe. I paid a lot less than the normal rate as I was very last minute and it was unusually available, but as a solo traveller, so twice the price which is about normal, for a couple would still be excellent value to be in such an amazing location.
Thomas welcomed me and gave me a full safety briefing, necessary because of a lovely "horseshoe shaped" step up to the salon. There is access to outside space too, with such gorgeous views. It felt very private. As a solo traveller I felt exceptionally safe here.
The shower is very good and toilet and sink for simple washing, stylishly laid out.
My breakfast was lovely, delivered in a pretty basket with jam, pastries, fresh juice and fresh milk, filter coffee.
This was so lovely, I did not want to leave. At 5am, having woken for the necessary ;-), I video'd out the window as it was so quiet, the River Thames was flat and I could hear Herons clacking their beaks in the Heronry in the tops of the trees at Hurlingham.
I would definitely want to stay here again. Thank you Thomas Tiny little thing, being a female who has no need to get her hair wet each morning, the "storm head" on the shower and the shower cubicle being not massive, meant it was rather difficult to keep my hair from getting wet. But great hot water and temperature adjustment and lovely towels.
- Lucy (10/5): Highly recommend this for a stay. We loved it - So cosy, wonderful stay for a birthday celebration. The host was extremely helpful and brought us a lovely breakfast Nothing
- Philip (9/5): A worthwhile experience staying on a boat on the Thames. - Staying on the River Thames.
Location was great.
Breakfast was nice especially coupled with the view of the surrounding area. There was a lack of privacy due to some windows not having any privacy curtains or blinds. This wasn’t such an issue for our short stay but could be problematic for anyone staying longer.
- Kerryn (10/5): Can’t wait to return! - It exceeded expectations, so much space, brilliant and unique environment and a beautiful trip
- Jeanne (10/5): Lovely and unique accommodation on the Thames. - We had the most amazing stay in the boat. The location is gorgeous and quiet, the host is lovely and accommodating, the place is so beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast is abundant and also very good, overall we had such a great time and would come again anytime. nothing, it was all so lovely.
- Sara (8/5): Great for a romantic break in London - Great location on the Thames, nice and quiet. Lots of space and perfect for two. Breakfast was continental style and very nice! Felt the accommodation needed some finishing to make it extra special. No good for anyone with mobility issues.
- Emma (10/5): Amazing - Are you ready? Aye Aye Captain!
Definitely one amazing journey. The hosts are really helpful, the breakfast provided are tasty and abundant.
Although on the boat, you still have a lot of space in your room and will not feel narrow.
It is makes me feel that I’m taking an adventure since I can access to the pilothouse through the room, but also a warmly place of living since the bed is really easy to sleep and I’m not feeling tired when I wake up.
Really comfortable and amazing place. Strongly recommend. No
- Mark (10/5): Riverboat accommodation providing an unforgettable stay in central London - Excellent location, great accommodation, excellent vfm and easy to get to by car and so quiet with a helpful and pleasant host providing continental breakfast at a time to suit. It was all good.
- Allen (8/5): Very good - It is certainly different.
- Dominic (10/5): A serene, quiet, and calming stay. - Breakfast every morning was lovely (with a brilliant pot of tea). The location is amazing. Not too far to walk to any station and Wandsworth park/centre only minutes away. Lots of wildlife sit upon the Thames and it’s lovely and quiet. Many nights could be spent watching the Thames at work.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chandana (9/5): Fantastic!!! - The breakfast was very good. It was all very well organized and everything was just amazing!
The boat itself was amazing and we loved all the aesthetic inside the room.
It was a worthy experience for the price we paid.
- Angela (10/5): Exceptional - Hostess where really nice , the place has all facilities around and easy to reach on Uber boat and is very romantic
- Sheryl_g (10/5): Great alternative to hotel accomodation in London - A wonderful alternative to a hotel room in London. Being on the Thames means you not only experience the tides but see a big range of bird life around the boat and also in the beautiful park next door. The toilet and shower areas are small, but to be expected on a boat. Didn't bother us.
Tomas and Jo are lovely hosts. The bed was comfortable and the continental breakfast was good especially with fresh croissants every morning from the local shop, plus a tea pot of good, strong English tea!
Thank you, Tomas and Jo for helping with our Uber and phone issue when we left. Took a weight off our minds, for sure! We'll be back one day! 👍 Not exactly a dislike. Just a comment about the Uber boat. It picks up from the next pier, but the fare is quite expensive to travel a few zones. I'd totally recommend a journey on your first day to get a sense of the river and all the sights along it. The Thames is a special river!
- Masja (10/5): FANTASTIC! - This BnB on a dutch barge has been beautifully decorated. It’s clean, has all necessary amenities, a private bathroom and separate toilet and a very good bed. The host is so kind and helpful. Good breakfast with fresh croissants in the wheelhouse with views on the river Thames as a bonus! Nothing, it was perfect!
- Ryan (10/5): An excellent and memorable stay - The location was perfect for public transport, and shops. The view from the seating area is one which is rarely seen in London. The surrounding area is also wonderful for a walk with access to a large park on your doorstep. The team was inviting, polite, and very friendly. I will now only use this stay for all future stays to this area and for business! N/a
