• Stef (2/5): Worst Host We Ever Dealt With - Location and spacious We are a remote working couple and staying in apartments full time. The experience with this is the worst we ever had. Upon arriving at the apartment we noticed the shower wasn’t working properly and the kitchen had very basic utensils; not suitable for everyday cooking. When we pointed this out the host became very defensive and didn’t want to discuss this. So, we had to buy a frying pan, knives, a spoon and bowl ourselves. Accordingly, we raised the issue with Booking and they sided with us providing a partial refund. When we asked how the gas oven worked - because it lacked any signs on it - they basically said they didn’t know. Not a very comforting message when gas and fire is involved… Upon booking, we told the host that good and stable WiFi was important for our work. The property policy also mentions ‘WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge’. Yet, we quickly noticed that the WiFi only works properly in the living/dining area but not in other parts of the house. We booked a two bedroom place to use one bedroom as an office but that didn’t work out. Yet, we decided not to complain about that. Unfortunately, after staying there for less than a week, the WiFi stopped worked. It took the host a few hours to fix this and basically he didn’t pay his bill. Again, he seemed to blame us stating we were using too much internet while we don’t do anything crazy (meetings, emails and the occasional streaming). Few days later the internet stopped working again and we were left without internet. Host claimed it was a general issue although when we checked with the provider they were not aware of such general issue. This became quickly true as the host just stopped replying to our messages to get any update on the internet and later even admitted to it (indirectly) saying that because we got compensation from Booking he wasn’t going to care anymore. One more point: the school across the apartment plays loud music every morning at 8am.

• Ossama (9/5): Excellent apartment, great location and host. - I had a wonderful stay at Khaton Home in Cairo. The air-conditioned 2-bedroom apartment was not only comfortable but also well-equipped with modern amenities, including free WiFi and a flat-screen TV. The fully equipped kitchen and washing machine added convenience to my stay. The terrace and balcony offered lovely views, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The location is safe and quiet, and easy to explore key attractions. Mr. Ahmed is an attentive host who was always available if I needed anything which enhanced the overall experience. I highly recommend Khaton Home for a delightful stay in Cairo for individuals, couples and families.
