Guest Reviews
- Lydia (4/5): Good and bad - This house is very convenient to the train station, just steps away. Three story house. 2 adjoining tatami mat rooms on 2nd floor. Room on 3rd floor has 2 good double beds. Bathroom configuration in the description is deceptive. Those sleeping on the 3rd floor have to disturb those in the 2nd floor rooms (walk thru BOTH rooms) to get to the toilet. The description says 2 bathrooms, this is NOT true. Off to the side of the 2nd floor rooms is a toilet with door and a cold water sink ( a utility type sink) in the washing machine alcove. There is no 'bath' up there. There is no counter or table to place toiletries. All guests must shower next to the 1st floor kitchen with unsuitable privacy getting in and out of the shower. (there is an inadequate semi-transparent brown curtain to block view from kitchen) There is absolutely no place to hang a dry towel, no place to set your belongings.
The owners are deliberately hiding the fact that the stairs to 2nd & 3rd floors are dangerousy STEEP. We were a married couple+friend and had to modify sleeping arrangements because of the awful stairs and room privacy issues. For fear my 69 year old husband would fall down the stairs in the night, he had to sleep on the 2nd floor to have a toilet in the night. The futon bedding on the floor was too hard on his body and the only extra padding futon was padlocked in a bag. Our friend was displaced to the uncomfortable living room sofa.
I brought this stair/ bathroom problem to the attention of the rental service with little sympathy and a lame apology for not disclosing the DANGEROUS stairs. There were people outside talking loudly until wee hours in the night and someone jiggled the side door in the night. Yet the contract states renters will be evicted if they disturb the neighbors. I would never stay here again.
To improve this: add a 2nd floor shower, add some side tables. Speak with the business that is allowing loud patrons late at night.

- Erin (7/5): overall loved the stay, had a very traditional feel to it and the issues didn’t bother us. i would recommend. - the “traditional” feel to the house, very convenient location, when we had an issue the staff responded and fixed immediately, the heaters and hot water worked very well, most comfortable bed i’ve had in my 2 week stay in japan the stairs were very steep wasn’t a problem for us because we are young but for anyone with limited mobility the beds were upstairs so stairs are unavoidable. roofs are very low im 5’8 and hit my head on door frames and hanging pendant lights. bottom floor smells of sewage on entry. there is no bathroom, just a shower when you step out the shower to dry off/change you’re stepping into the kitchen.
- Craig (2/5): Sewage smell - The location was central to a lot of great food options, the Osaka castle and other attractions. The house had a constant sewage smell on the ground floor. This made hanging out on the ground floor unpleasant and you were welcomed to this smell every time you entered the premises.
- Beltz (5/5): It was cold - We love the location and the house overall Because this house has a lot of drafts, cold winds still coming in. So the heater doesn't affect the rooms, especially main living room. I sleep on the second floor, and the room so cold because the wind from the laundry room keep coming in.

- Holger (10/5): Perfect Location and nice price. Perfect stay for tourists! Also for large groups - Super cool place with lots of space! And the locations is just on point! Super good restaurants (yakiniku, various izakayas, okonomiyaki etc.) just beside the apartment and also the subway just 1min walk for the Osaka Loop Line. Maybe for older people beware, because the stairs are quite steep! My parents did manage though :) bath and kitchen is sufficient. I will definitely come back! Price also super fine. Thank you!
- Alessio (10/5): Perfect - Really Big house, good position, good communication with the host, it has everything for a short or long stay.
- 쪼꼬 (10/5): -
- Ines (7/5): -
- Abdul Basir (8/5): - the station is only in front of the building only 2 min walks only have 1 shower and small

- Hiroki (8/5): Old but comfortable Japanese traditional house with great location - An ideal location for Osaka sightseeing. Just 1-2min from Tamatsukuri station which has both JR and Metro lines. Very reasonable cost for whole house. The slow WiFi connection. The sofa in living room is too small to comfort all family member.
- Lizabeth (9/5): Perfect location - Location spells perfect.
Train station is nearby and super practical if you purchase JR ticket as it is a part of Osaka Loop Line.
Eateries are everywhere, convenient store (Lawson, Familymart and 7Eleven) is nearby.
For PokemonGo player, fret not - pokestops are everywhere, even 2 gyms. The key.
Super hard to lock/unlock.
- Bonnie (9/5): Superb -
- Loleta (1/5): It was the most horrible, disappointing and appalling stay. It almost ruined our trip to Japan. I wish I never booked th - Nothing. We didn’t like anything for the following reasons:
1) Entire house smelt like septic
2) Stairs are not safe, and it is safety hazard because they are wooden, no treads, slippery and rotten. My sister fell because it was slippery & narrow. It is like climbing a ladder
3) No sink to wash hands & no hand soap for the bathroom downstairs
4) Toilet in the 2nd floor had a sink but no hand soap
5) The bathroom has no where to get change and there’s no privacy from the outside. The only privacy on the inside is a little curtain separating it from the kitchen
6) Fan in the kitchen was filthy as well as the cupboards and dishes
7) Septic smell coming from the kitchen sink and between the toilet and shower downstairs
8) The lock is faulty and it is unsafe
9) The sheets had stains resembling blood and hair on one of the beds in the 3rd floor
10) The noise from patrons on the street were loud which made it difficult to sleep
Overall the experience was disappointing to say the least and when I raised the issues above initially, I was politely told that I was being picky.
It put a damper on our Osaka trip and it caused us to quickly find other suitable accommodations.
- Rebecca (8/5): Spacious for 5 of us had a great stay thank you - Near train station
Comfortable beds
- Tamir (4/5): Disappointing - The best thing was the location, 1 minute to JR station. Kitchen utensils were enough, bed was comfortable. Generally it was old and cold, stinky overall and dirty in some places, noisy from outside, it had steep stairs and no bathroom.
- Mitchell (9/5): Superb - Comfy beds and good location
- Rakawi (9/5): Great place, good location and facilities! Would recommend - with caveats! - The house was located near the station, with easy access to the 3 convenience stores (7-Eleven, FamilyMart & Lawson) and is very well equipped with fridge, induction stove, pot & pan, kitchenware, washing machine (with dryer features, which is a BIG bonus!), has 2 toilets and is generally very comfortable!
All 3 floors have an a/c unit (with heater functions for cold season) so it's easy to regulate the temperatures for each individual floors. We found the bed to be very comfortable (it was even better than the bed in the Tokyo hotel we stayed after this!), although the pillow was a little too soft for us. There were some additional pillows/cushions to help with this.
There are also quite a few places for food, including one that opens until pretty late with good food and drinks.
The station is also really close, although the subway is a little further away. The nearby station also provides easy access to USJ without any line changes which was really convenient for us!
Would generally recommend the place, but keep in mind the very specific cons below! The stairs are kinda steep with shallow steps, which makes it difficult to climb up and down. My sister, who is visually impaired, was originally going to stay in the bedroom on the uppermost floor with her friend, but due to challenges getting up and down, we ended up swapping locations and generally just stayed downstairs, including just keeping all our luggage there. My understanding is that these type of stairs are not uncommon in Japanese homes, but it's still something to keep in mind for those traveling with children, elderly or those who has problems with movements, especially those who are not used to such stairs.
Another issue we had was with the bathroom, which was situated on the lowest floor. To keep it simple, the bathroom itself was too small to allow someone to change in it, and the kitchen area which ended up being a busy place with ppl always being around there or walking pass, has a clear view into the little corner that housed the bathroom stall and toilet. This was an issue especially for the girls who had to change in the toilet with the doors open because the toilet was also small and they needed more space to keep their change of clothes nearby. An additional door here, or simply thicker and longer curtains here that properly covers the view into the bathroom/toilet corner would probably help.
Our last pet peeve would be the entrance lock. We generally felt safe but the lock might feel too flimsy to some. For us though, the annoying part is how difficult it is to lock and unlock the door due to how the locking mechanism worked. We'd struggle with it most of the time which got frustrating at times.
- Ja-yang (4/5): Cramped, Noisy, and Uncomfortable - A Disappointing Stay for a Family of Five - The house was quite small, especially the activity area where the TV was. Probably not unusual for this area but the layout was definitely cramped for a family of 5.
Various parts of the house were dirty and dusty.
The stairs are a huge hazard to use. The steps were tall and narrow, some parts had splinters and were uncomfortable to walk on.
The walls are paper thin, meaning there is very little soundproofing. You can hear outside activities throughout the night. This was probably the worst part of our stay since it was difficult to get much sleep.
Furthermore it was very cold, especially downstairs. The air conditioning was definitely working overtime but still not producing enough heat to keep everyone warm.
Bathroom was extremely small and had very little privacy as it connected to the main activity room.
A redeeming fact is that this was extremely close to the station and had plenty of food options around.
- Ahmad (8/5): Great size, great location! - Location is so close to Tamatsukuri Station, making movement easy. Amenities are well maintained. House is comfortable. Sliding door as the main entrance could be perceived as not so secure.
- Sali (7/5): Good - Great location surrounded by great food spots and close to the station. Very spacious and fit five people very easily. The smell was weird. We asked if they could unlock the second futon set for us and they told us it was a 30$ extra charge. Be cautious of the amount of stairs there are, especially if you have large suitcases you want to bring up.
- Stellah. (7/5): Good - The facility is spacious, well-equipped and there is convenient transportation. There were some dust and cobwebs on the stairs and entrance. It was not good for my 4-year-old daughter.
- Tandi (7/5): Very convenient location and amenities but no privacy with the thin walls and busy alleyway. - There was plenty of space for the whole family. Half a block from the train station which makes it super convenient. Really appreciated the washer/dryer and laundry soap provided. Staff was very friendly. Found a live bug in our bed twice which was off putting. Wish there would have been curtains in the bathroom that opens up directly to the busy alley. Taking showers at night was super uncomfortable with people directly outside the bathroom doors. It’s an old very poorly insulated building on the corner of busy alley. Sounds like the walls and windows are paper thin and was very hard to sleep with people laughing and talking in the alley all night.
- Nathapon (8/5): Very good -
- Ryan (7/5): Good - Location is good, and near JR station.
Lawson, FamilyMart and 7-11 near by. Shower room is small...
- Lhiza (10/5): Perfect - Location of the house that's near the station. The house itself is nice
- Jordan (9/5): Beautiful well equipped house and cannot beat the location - Excellent sized house, amazing amenities, modern and well equipped. The house is legitimately a 1 minute walk through a small alley to the train station as well as Lawson,7-11 and other amazing restaurants. House is well insulated and beds were comfortable Not negative but just a booker beware. The stairs to get to both level 2 and 3 which is where the bedrooms are located are significantly steep and small, to the point where its almost like climbing a ladder. The group of us staying were in our 20's so we had no issues but did have a few close calls/slips. Anyone travelling with young kids or more senior adults will likely have an issue getting up and down them
- Thanathep (8/5): best experience for friends and little family for 3-4 persons - Location best for travel by JR Train is near station only 110M .
And with 3 convenience stores and more 5 restaurants with seat and quick meal for pickup around this house.
In house have full set kitchen for ready meals ( plates / glasses / Spoon, fork, knife, cutting board / electric hotpot / microwave / etc; )
In house with 2 bedrooms and 1 living rooms (1st-floor) with aircondition.
With convinence stuff for travel - Iron with table / towels / coat hangers / air dryer / soap-shampoo-hair conditioner / Pocket wifi in house / TV and have coffee and tee complements This house Stairs, small and steep steps uncomfortable for older people.
and wall is not guards for sound and cold weathers. in weekend midnight you can hear drunk people from bars near house.
In winter seasons (Dec-Jan) floor on 1st-floor cold and 2nd-floor in room that haven't aircondition is so cold in nights time also in toilet too.
- David (8/5): Very happy, would likely return. - The location was fantastic, super close to jr train loop line, and so many restaurants within short walking distance. It was very clean accomodation. The stairs are difficult even for an adult , use caution when going down. The remote for the heat pump are all Japanese, it would be nice to have had a guide in English for how to use them.
The front door was difficult to open. The hot water tank in kitchen was difficult to operate, it would be useful to have instructions on site.
- Trista (6/5): Is ok . - good location , near train station. Good facility (washing machine) Wifi is very weak , totally can not browse web pages ,actually can be say no function 😢
Sound insulation is very bad😢 . There is dust on the floor and room ,too.
- Christopher (8/5): Huge apartment in a very convenient location - Very close to the local train station so easy to get about.
Shops, convenience stores and supermarkets all within walking distance.
Very big townhouse apartment giving a family of 4 with two teenage boys plenty of space.
Air conditioning units on each floor, essential for the hot Japanese summers.
Incredibly responsive host who spoke English
WiFi was included. Stairs are really quite steep but you get used to them.
Would benefit from having a toaster oven in the kitchen.
- Dyna (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (6/5): Pleasant - Great neighborhood and lots of space Extremely steep stairs hard for families with young kids and older people.
- Techita (8/5): Overall a comfortable stay! - It is cozy! It has only one bath and the stairs are steep.
