Guest Reviews
- Samara (1/5): Would be cautious booking with this accommodation. - N/A They over booked the accomadtion so when we arrived there was no key where it was supposed to be.
When calling or messages took them ages to respond.
They then tried to organise other accommodation, which they did. But we ended up having to pay for this additional accommodation.
When trying to get a refund they made it extremely difficult and again did not respond to messages in a timely manner.
- Kelly (10/5): Amazing stay - Apartment was nice and spacious, very clean ,had everything we needed. Very happy with everything and would definitely stay again ☺️
- Mcmahon (1/5): Bad - Nothing, arrived on the day at the door and was told the apartment was double booked. The owner refused to answer the phone to help sort things out, instead sending on recommendations for places that didnt have enough room for the group of us that came up. The level of professionalism and refusal to answer the phone and help sort things out there and then, instead dragging it out with delayed messages on booking.com
- Mike (5/5): Good for location only. - The location was walkable to the must see areas of Dublin. The apartment was not clean. The floors clearly hadn't been washed/swept in a while. There was wet laundry in the washing machine. We booked for 4 people and there were only 2 towels. There was a 1/4 roll of toilet paper and nothing more. The kitchen garbage can was half full so unsure when last changed.
- Koni (3/5): Unresponsive owner, not enough sheets, blankets, towels, clogged up unusable shower, and not clean. - It took us a long time to figure out how to access the basement car park where the lock box was located. All the doors we tried were locked and we circled the building a couple times before finding a way in. This is not a pleasant thing to do in the rain with all our luggage. There were so many things. The apartment was not very clean or well prepared. In one bathroom there was no toilet paper and in the other there was only a 1/4 roll. The shower in one of the bathrooms was completely blocked and not useable and there were only a few towels. The apartment says it sleeps 5 adults, but there were only 3 towels. The oven also did not work and there were only a few dishes/cups/glasses—definitely not enough for 5 people. The listing said there was a sofa bed, which I think was the stained futon in the living room, but there were no extra sheets or blankets to use on it. On top of all that, the access was cumbersome having to go to the basement car park to get the key from a lock box, but the access to the car park was not easy to find. The worst part, however, was that the owner was completely unresponsive! I messaged them several times asking questions in the weeks leading up to our stay, but got no response. Even on the day of check-in, the email I got with check-in directions seemed like it was written by AI, not a person. And it included a request for a positive review before I had even seen the apartment. “Jonathan” the host never responded to any of my questions about where I could get more sheets and towels after we checked in. Overall, I would not recommend the apartment.
- Olivia (6/5): Pleasant - Location was great. Clear instructions for arrival. No toilet paper provided. Subpar cleanliness.
- Rachel (7/5): Superb location and a clean and spacious apartment - The location was excellent and the property was clean and the apartment itself was spacious and comfortable. It was good value for money. Locating the property was difficult, I had to ask a number of people and was eventually helped by a friendly person from the neighbourhood. It was difficult locating the lockbox and again I enlisted the help of a kind person who happened to be entering the apartment block. The apartment kitchen was lacking some essentials and was limited in crockery/utensils available. It was fine as we were eating out, but I would have found it difficult to cook a meal.
- Joanne (8/5): Location location location! - Location Location Location! So perfect for our theatre weekend. Great bars and restaurants locally. The apartment was very comfortable and you felt secure. The parking in the basement made everything easy. Two generous sized bedrooms, one ensuite had very comfortable beds which lent to a very good night's sleep.Kitchen well equipped and everything you would need. Good big living space and kitchen table. To be honest I would be nit picking to call out anything well didn't like. Just three minor call outs. The shower and basin in the bathroom were very slow draining, some mould needed addressed in the bathroom also and the last thing just the handles on the windows are a little loose. But all very fixable.
- Tegyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mannix (8/5): Overall enjoyed our stay. - Property was in a great location. V clean and comfortable. Rang the contact person as we got a little lost, no reply and never rang back to see if we were ok
- Cecile (9/5): Superb -
- Lynn (8/5): A spacious and comfortable modern apartment. - Very well located, especially for Bord Gais. It was spacious and very clean. Two good sized rooms and bathrooms. Communication with the owner was reliable and they answered our questions before we stayed. Very good value for money. The sleeping arrangements for the 5th person on our stay weren’t ideal. No sheets or duvet left there. The pull out bed is badly stained and with a flimsy throw to use as a cover.
- Leona (2/5): Very disappointing stay - not a well looked after property! - The location is perfect - we booked it to be close to the Bord Gais Theatre and the apartment is right beside this. Mostly everything else. The apartment was not clean at all, the sofa bed was poor quality and badly stained, there were no bed linens for the sofa bed and my friend had to sleep on the sofa as he didn't feel clean enough to sleep on the sofa bed. The main bathroom had a lot of mould and all of the windows were dirty with hand prints and smudges all over them. The window in the second bedroom wouldn't close/lock properly (we have videos of this). Overall, very disappointed. Should have read the other reviews before we booked so that is on us!
- Samuel (7/5): Good -
- Debbie (1/5): DO NOT STAY HERE. DIRTY, HOST WILL NOT HELP. - Photos looked good Was not cleaned before checkin. Host unresponsive when we asked to cancel. Kept our money even though we did not stay. We had to contact our credit card company to get the charges reversed.
- Emilie (5/5): Passable - Massive apartment with all mod cons and gorgeous views out front and back WiFi didn’t work, parking was more expensive than advertised and no contact from owner when I asked for help with these issues.
- Nadja (3/5): Host goes no contact - no internet - The apartment is spacious and could be so good if the host took this more seriously. We could not check in the day we arrived because of a "gas leak" but were redirected to a hotel where we spent the first night. when we finally were able to have access the next day we encountered a very hastily cleaned and therefore only superficially clean apartment. The bedsheets were not ironed but totally crumpled which looked messy and absolutely not appealing. the bathrooms, especially the smaller one was moldy and rather filthy. there were no hand towels or kitchen towels. the kitchen was very sparsely equipped, no coffee machine, literally four (4) plates and not much more. very annoyingly was also that we had NO internet available for the duration of our whole stay. the first two days we were told fanatsy stories about a housekeeper delivering missing items and promises of the internet working the next day. then the host decided to ignore us for the remaining 5 days we spent at this place. of course nothing was delivered and internet never worked., which also meant we were unable to watch TV. I tried contacting the host numerous times every day. the phone number does not work and no responses on the booking chat. we were not happy, to say the least.
- Fionnuala (7/5): Good -
- Petra (1/5): Bad - We booked the accommodation for five people and were unfortunately very disappointed. The sofa bed for the fifth person was not prepared, which we noticed immediately. We contacted the accommodation in writing via Booking.com, but have not received any feedback to date. Nobody was available by phone at first either. After several attempts, someone finally got in touch, but he was extremely unfriendly and promised to get back to us - which unfortunately never happened. In the end, we had to gather the necessary things from the entire apartment ourselves and somehow arrange the sofa bed.
On the plus side, the apartment is spacious and in a good neighborhood. The public transport connections are good and there are numerous cafés nearby.
However, there were also many serious shortcomings: the apartment was unfortunately very dirty. There was dust everywhere on the floor, and there was mold in the bathrooms - both on the ceiling and in the shower. The general impression of cleanliness was poor: the table was greasy, the mirrors were uncleaned and the chairs had stains. The mattresses of the beds and the sofa bed also had noticeable stains, which left an overall unhygienic impression.
Another negative point was the small storage room, in which there was wet laundry - which was probably also a reason for the mold.
Overall, our experience with this accommodation was unfortunately very disappointing, both in terms of cleanliness and service. We would not recommend this accommodation to anyone.
- Kim (1/5): Unpleasant - It hasn’t been cleaned when we arrived. It was a disgrace. The housekeeper had to come clean when we were all there, it was very uncomfortable and not a pleasant environment. Also the parking wasn’t €20 like it stated on the booking, when we got there we had to pay online and it was €35 for 24 hours. This was false advertising.
- Claire (9/5): Was happy with apartment and location just what we needed - Nice size, good location Was hard to find lock box I thought it was the building next to it and was looking in wrong place for a while
- Da (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jodie (8/5): Great place but owner didn’t respond to messages before stay regarding the early check in before our stay. Arrived for - Amazing apartment, great space and had everything you needed. Musty smell, damp in bathroom
- Warrick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronan (1/5): Bad -
- Ronan (1/5): Disgusted - Very poor.
I had booked the apartment for work purposes as my team of 4 including I were in Dublin for work purposes on the Tuesday until late. This is an apartment we had stayed previously while working late.
When we finished work at 12:30am on Wednesday to make it back to the apartment, I noticed messages from the host by chance to say that he had cancelled our booking hours previous on the Tuesday leaving us without accommodation for the night. The app gives capabilities to ring myself, which was never done, bear in mind we were working all day and hadn’t checked the app until we were leaving for the apartment.
Furthermore the host had mentioned that he issued a cancellation request with booking.com 3 days previous on the Saturday, something that never notified myself, however he didn’t bother to mention this until the day of Tuesday.
Although this apparent request had been 3 days previous, the host continued to message over all of the access details, key to lock box etc on the Monday which should not have been done if the accommodation was apparently not available.
This apartment was none refundable and would have resulted in having to pay £190.33 if I had cancelled at the time of finding out.
This resulted in 4 people without having a place to stay for the evening.
Very disappointed with both the host and the app for which I will be issuing a major complaint. The cancellation leaving us with no where to stay
