• Halel (10/5): Relaxed stay in a beautiful place. - Great place and very kind Anja, everything comfortable and with attention to details, nice kitchen, garden, rooms and yoga classes as well. Nothing to complain about.

• Willow (9/5): It was the nicest little getaway for us on a night when we didn't want to make the long trip home. - The location is wonderful! The place is quaint and adorable and charming. Every effort seemed to have been made to make the place attractive and it certainly is. It is a surprise--like picking your favorite chocolate by accident! We could have used some more soap. The bottle was nearly empty upon arrival. Also, we could not find anyone to pay when we wanted to check out and we spent quite a lot to time trying to find someone! Finally, we had to leave the money in the room, which made me a bit nervous. Also, the roosters are VERY loud, but this is just normal for Vilcabamba.

When Anya realized we were looking a long term apartment , she helped us in our search. Within 2 hours, we were moving into an apartment!. Couldn't have asked for a better host.

• Sean (10/5): Warm host and great greenery. - Beatrice welcomed us warmly and showed us our apartment. Spotless clean. Everything we needed was there. Great ambience. Very green. Nice view from our window. We had some questions about the town and more and all were answered warmly. My mother attended morning Yoga and was impressed. We needed to leave a bit later than checkout, for our next checkin elsewhere, and the host let us keep the luggage there and use a common area and made us feel at home. There was nothing not to like. All was good. The price could have been lower, but they are what they are in Vilcabamba.

• Rebecca (10/5): Colorful retreat - What a pleasant oasis in lovely Vilcabamba. Our room was spacious ,a fun glass rain shower, big fluffy towels, a comfortable bed, lots of wall plugs, hooks to hang things, and a row of hangers! Anya was so welcoming . The community kitchen was also well set up.

• Peyton (10/5): Among the best economical options in Vilca - I used to live in Vilca, so I know the town and its lodging offerings pretty well. Avalon was fantastic! Well-equipped kitchen, centrally located but quiet, helpful staff and owner, and the ambiance is great. I’d stay here again!

• Deric (10/5): Very good stay in Vilcabamba - I like everything in this hostel, my stay was very pleasant. The yoga room was perfect for me to do my daily workouts and the kitchen was complete, so I could cook my meals without issues. The hosts are very kind people. The place is very calm and my nights were very calm, so I had a good sleep there. My only suggestion is to add another bathroom, in the mornings it's hard to use the bathroom because there's only one for everybody.
• Gregory (9/5): Great location, great price, great hosts. - #5 is our favorite room. Very close to downtown Vilca with all her great restaurants and shops. Great value for the price. Good community kitchen. We felt very safe here. Don't forget to bring cash, lots of 10's 5's and 1's. Lots of noise. Motorbikes and trucks racing by all day and night. Also, there must be 100 chickens in the area. The roosters start crowing at 12:01 am.

• Martin (10/5): Exceptional - It's a beautiful property in a great location, very quiet but just a couple of minutes' walk to the centre. The bed was very comfortable and a big plus that there are only 3 beds in the dorm. There is a lovely garden to chill in and the kitchen has all you need, included drinking water. The hosts are lovely.

• Craig (9/5): A lovely and loving experience - Anya is a goddess. She runs the place. And offers Kundalini Yoga Mondays & Thursdays 7 am. The ambience is as if emanating from a soothing incense stick. Of course Vilcabamba has a lot to do with it but she makes Vilcabamba even better. Inside the walls, the hillside view is velvet with el Greco skies at sunset. The place is 90% wooden, soothingly organic to the feet. I could go on. You get the drift. One large bathroom for all guests. Mornings can make your first visit of the day a wee congested but guests seem to intuit not to dawdle and vacancies appear in short durations.

• Luna (10/5): Exceptional - I had an exellent stay in Avalon House in Vilcabamba. Anja, the owner was super frindly, open-hearted and gave me brilliant recommendations for my time in Vilcabamba. She told me great places for doing Yoga, having a massage, renting bicycles, having a horse riding trip or nice places for hikes. I felt super welcomed and the atmosphere is so peaceful. The yoga room is wonderful as well. Everything is really clean and designed with love. I definitely recommend this place!!

The shared shower is very clean and amazing so it's not a problem to share with the few guests. A bit expensive for a small room with a hard matress and no private bathroom

Anya is a very kind, gentle host and really gives from her heart. She made a beautiful arrangement of flowers for him on our breakfast table and amazing array of food. It’s a picturesque and very homely place with a hammock and places to eat outside, flowers and herb garden - really very lovely! Nothing really…. the place is great! A little noisy at the weekend until about 1 but to be expected so close to town, which is great for the restaurants and shops.

• Ellie (10/5): Safe, respectful and clean - Hi, Everytime I turned around Ms Anya (owner) or someone was cleaning, up keeping and beautifying the place. Graced us w an abundance of clean towels, high quality toilet paper and extra herbs, spices and beautf dishes in the kitchen. Mr Eric who checked me in was friendly and at same time him and Ms Anya gave me all the privacy and solitude I prefer and needed - I felt welcomed, respected and Ms Anya looked out for me when had special bathroom needs because of medical issues. I can not say enough how they make the space feel as if it was our own and how I recommend and I enjoyed my stay. Was truly sad to leave... I wish her and all cont'd fulfillment, health and success ~Thanks again Avalon for being such a safe and magical haven, even if for a few days :)) Ellie *They're #19 on the map zero
