Guest Reviews
- Sheryl (10/5): It was exactly what I needed. A break between work in Punta Gorda and the trip to the USA. - Everything, the pool, the food, the room, and the vegetation. I also appreciated the staff espeicially the owner David B.
- Mary (7/5): -
- Mary (8/5): Relaxing place to stay - Cute cabins with comfortable beds. Quiet spot out in nature. No complaints.
- Alishia (10/5): UnBelizeAble experience. Captain Dave is an amazing host. - The entire team is warm, inviting and welcoming .
- Orlando (8/5): Value, quiet, great location - Quiet, comfortable beds, nice clean rooms
Friendly Staff Did not care for the rough bumpy road there
The gates were locked to come back in
Did not like the curtain that was slightly opened by the door because of poor design
Did menu should include some other type of meat for people that do not eat pork, it was not only us another customer was there that did not eat pork
- María Isabel (10/5): Bonito lugar , y mucha calidez en el personal - Las instalaciones y el personal Los mosquitos
- Valerie (8/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Great way to end my stay - It was a brief overnight stay before heading back to the States. Everything was great, but the food was beyond expectation.... Hats off to the chef
- Liz (8/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): - The beds are super comfy, beautiful view of the beach, awesome pool and the lady that works in the kitchen taking orders is the best.
- Williams (7/5): -
- Barton (4/5): Beautiful property but disappointing. - The rooms were very nice. Roomy. Clean linens. Very beautiful view! Not as advertised. Insufficient shaded seating at pool. Two hour wait for subpar food...stale chips, overcooked shrimp, mushy vegetables. Advertised as having a bar, but minimal selection and not prepared to our order. Staff didn’t seem to share information so we got several different answers to the same questions. Ant infestation in room we stayed it. Most of our complaints could have been dealt with if it was honestly advertised. We really wanted to love it, but were disappointed, sadly. A property with great potential, but several things need improvement.
- Patrick (9/5): - Everything about the hotel was excellent. Room, beds, shower and Staff was perfect. Food was excellent and delicious. The Hotel was near of Airport, excellent to finish your trip. The breakfast was excellent but a little bit expensive for the price.
- Jennifer (5/5): Run down, over priced food, a beach you can’t use, difficult to get anywhere. People were nice. - Nice staff Food was expensive, kitchenette in room was poorly stocked (no bowls, no dish rag, no spoons, only 1 plate, 1 fork and a couple of butter knives)
- UZMA (9/5): -
- Guest (9/5): -
- Mary Jane (9/5): A good place to stay coming or going to the airport. Resort like with activities. - ool could have been cleaner but otherwise it was a nice pool. The grounds were well kept and scenic. The restaurant food was fair and it wa a bvit difficult finding te place. Signage would help.
- McAllister (9/5): Easy, quick stay. BYOB dinner. - Easy stay pre airport departure. We even got to see manatees early in the morning before we headed out from the dock - definitely the highlight. Beds were harder than we prefer. Bring your bug spray.
- Vatsana (3/5): Inconsistent and Uncomfortable - Close to the airport. Outdated, very rustics, beds and showers not comfortable.
- Stephanie (10/5): Everything and everyone was just friendly - The property was well kept, doesn’t look appealing driving up. But once you get beyond the cars parked up front it’s a beautiful place. Nothing bad to say
- Mark (9/5): - If you're looking for downtime away from town this spot is ideal.
Do the river cruise the resort owner operates. He's funny, chatty, and we saw so many manatees.
If you have an informal vibe about you, the kitchen / restaurant team welcome you like a visiting friend and make sure you're looked after.
If you have tours booked check as most but not all operators pick up from here. Drop offs and pickups from town or airport are available from the resort though.
All round good vibes, I would go back. If you're vegan (I'm not) your food options will be limited to rice and veg, make sure you check when booking so they have a chance to plan for you in advance.
Meals aren't super cheap but they are good!
- Jeffrey (8/5): Great stay for arriving or departing Belize - Free breakfast was fine. Also could upgrade the breakfast at a reasonable cost.
- amanda (9/5): Beautiful Hotel close to the airport with an island feel! - We loved the location close to the hotel made it easy on our last day to travel to the airport! It had a beautiful pool and hotel grounds! We got free kayak rentals and saw an alligator! The restaurant had amazing food some of the best we had in Belize! The beds were really hard and thin pillows.
- Loic Wei-Yu-Neng (7/5): A great location hotel for an early flight in Belize city airport. - The restaurant and swimming pool are great. I also loved the preserved nature around the hotel. It was great to see the mangrove trees we are not used to see in California. Basic stove, not enough plates and silverware to cook in the room. We didn't plan for it so it wasn't an issue but it feels half done. The restaurant food is the only option because the hotel is pretty isolated.
- Miranda (5/5): If you charge US price that please provide US service. A lot of amenities were missing. - Didn't have breakfast since I had to get up early to go to the airport that morning. However, love the chef that served us and everyone else by herself. She was very professional and outstanding customer service. She was by herself and she was able to help every one that kept coming to get something to eat and/or drink. She got some help later but she satisfied a lot us by herself before help arrived. She did all this with a smile on her face the whole time. She should get a raise. Don't remember her name but this was on March 17th night. Good job. What I didn't like. The price for the room was $269+ US dollars for the night, but the serve was not US service. If you are going to charge US price then please be ready to provide US service with all the amenities that comes with it. The aniance has to reflect US quality and ambiance. Please work on that. It seems like a nice place.
The staff were okay. However, when I called to make the reservation and asked for a shuttle to pick us up from the international airport the agent should have immediately told me that the shuttle cost was our responsibility. That should have been said immediately. Very important. Most hotels over free shuttle to and from the airport. So if you don't offer that then you MUST tell the guest that immediately. What do you think?
I had to learn that after speaking with the other guests.
- Nicole (7/5): Great stay, friendly staff, they respond to issues quickly. - It’s tucked away and surrounded by the river, trees, and you we seen a few iguanas.. It has a restaurant connected and additional services you could pay for if needed. (Like a rental car or massage) All of this should be communicated in advance. The room we booked had some issues. There was a leak from the air conditioning unit that kept me up all night the first night. There was signs to not put any tissue in the toilet but in the trash can for number 1 or 2. I will say the staff immediately responded the issue and moved us to an upgraded room at no additional charge. There was a little miscommunication about final payment but the staff was friendly, present and quickly responded to any issue we had.
- Sarah (8/5): - Complimentary breakfast was delicious It was delicious, but food pricing is a big high.
- Melanie (6/5): - Beautiful property
Lots of iguanas Very run down, needs lots of Maintenance
- Mary Lynn (8/5): - Close to airport.
- Elizabeth (8/5): - The pool was great! Good food too. Advertised as more beach-y but it was more industrial and there are crocodiles so you can't swim.
- ALB (5/5): Nice for Relaxing - Very quiet, walk out to the water, salt water pool onsite things to do (pool table, lounge, reasonable priced massages. No bottle water in room, no coffee maker. Restaurant prices are high.
- William (6/5): - The hammocks were comfortable. The office offered a ride service which was convenient. The sunset river cruise offered at the resort was a nice surprise. The staff are very friendly. More chairs would be nice. I would recommend using mosquito spray when sitting at the outdoor restaurant. The tiny flies have a big bite!
- Ellen (8/5): Pretty spot - Great staff, very helpful. Location is a bit out of town.
- Ellen (8/5): Nice spot - Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and sufficient. Food in restaurant was decent. Location is a little out of town.
- Thierry (7/5): Hotel near airport and crystal car rental, with nice pool but nothing else. - Close to airport, but they will charge a fortune for taxi. Nice pool. Close to crystal car rental. The hotel needs a lot of work. Literally everything is falling apart. Horrible breakfast, way too expensive.
- Tamara (8/5): - Ystävällinen henkilökunta
- Wilber (7/5): - El personal del hotel muy muy bien, la ubicación y el lugar muy relajado.
- Wilber (8/5): - Que no se puede bañar en la playa, hay lagartos
- Christine (7/5): - The location was very nice . Met some nice friends at this location, made the stay much nicer . That to go into town and such they had different rates for people. I went with another room , same amount of people in same room , they were charged another rate than us 3. I think they just throw out rates and try to make as much as possible out of us.
- Martin (3/5): - Die Lage Wow, wie kann man so ungastlich sein
- Marjolein (8/5): - Leuke bungalows aan het water
- Cristina (7/5): ok - nice location. Basic breakfast but good. Toast, some fruit, jam and butter. no place to swim in ocean. Not like pictures. Not much to do, it was a windy day. Cushions and chairs at pool run down and broken.
- Ellen (6/5): Don’t go by the pictures on the web site. Very deseving. - It was beautiful. Your bed butted up onto the window. Door lock didn’t feel safe. Going down a dirt road going to property felt you could could be jumped at any minute.
- Beatrice (10/5): - La cabana était très jolie, cosy et propre dans un beau jardin. Nous avons profité de la piscine et de la vue sur la mer. Le personnel est très gentil et disponible. Le lit est grand mais pas très confortable.
- Catherine (8/5): Near airport - Convenience
- Walter (7/5): For a over night stay yes I would , but for a longer term stay no !! - Staff for sure was awesome !!and very quite , the ambiance , relaxing - loved the complementary breakfast Beds and pillows can use up grading , where the coffee sits could be more counter space , tables and chairs on the first level deck of the restaurant could use replacing there clap out backs are bent back can’t sit properly chair pads are dirty - upstairs table and chairs are not comfortable only the big square table and chairs - gym equipment absolutely needs replacing - and the menu needs changing , what’s on the menu u can’t get - food takes pretty long any where from 1.5 - 2 hours at night time - however breakfast service was quick - room cleaning is not high on the priority list - I didn’t just stay 1 night we were extended stay
- Nicole (7/5): - Nice property, good staff Difficult to reach, road in dark at night and pothole filled. Beds were not comfortable.
- Martin (4/5): -
- Casey (7/5): - Nice property with lots of amenities, cozy/spacious rooms. Good spot to stay overnight before/after a flight, but I wouldn't want to spend an entire vacation here due to the prices, and location. Overpriced for what it is, compared to other accomodations in Belize. The restaurant is exceptionally expensive, and unfortunately it's your only option within walking distance. Airport transfers from the hotel also run approximately double the cost of a regular taxi.
- David (8/5): -
- Laurel (6/5): The place is beautiful however, I would recommend that they bulldoze the so call three bedroom Villa - The food was superb. We dined there almost every morning and evening. David, the manager was very hospitable and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. We booked the three bedroom villa. Upon our arrival we were taken to a very dingy, dirty building with some very used furniture. One of the bedrooms was upstairs where there was no railings to the very steep stairs. We refused to stay there. When the manager, David was called. I must say that he was very understanding and eventually placed us in the newer building after showing us the cottages that were available. The accommodations were comfortable. David was very helpful in meeting our needs. Overall I will say that the facility was acceptable and the location is fabulous. It was in close proximity to Belize City and the airport.
- Irene (7/5): Much better than some hotels we stayed at. And HOT water showers! - Did not have breakfast Coffee was extremely strong
- cristina (2/5): - Surrounding nature Bathrooms not well cleaned. Noisy. Surroundings not neat
- KYLE (7/5): -
- Douglas (9/5): Last night in the Jungle - Very clean rooms and comfortable beds. The swimming pool was a relief from the heat. Good food their jungle restaurant. The location is far from shopping and requires an Uber or like service. The resort restaurant was the only place to eat. The food was great but a little bit on the expensive side but the staff were willing to fix food to your taste.
- Viktor (9/5): Genial - Installations La foto no coincidio con lo reservado
- LeShine (10/5): - Staff was great. Very helpful. Beach is sketchy. Certainly no swimming there. Long way from anything. The road to get there is in really bad shape.
- Ellen (9/5): - It's a compound with cabins and rooms. A nice deck with that roof for the dining area. Two more decks near the water for viewing and sitting. Nice pool. Food was decent. Staff very nice.
- Luckerath (10/5): - cozy resort close to the airport. The restaurant was great and the rooms were clean and beautiful. The grounds were well maintained fun little pool deck and also had a couple of kayaks to my surprise giant iguana in the background of my photo really cool.
- Rachelle (4/5): Je ne recommande pas - Joli emplacement et très bien situé près de l’aéroport Mauvais rapport qualité prix. Lits pas très confortables. Petit déjeuner médiocre, presque une arnaque ce déjeuner.
- Donna (9/5): Relaxing, quiet. - smaller facility, staff was great. Immediate response to two small issues. Food was good. Chef Sean did great with dinner. Loved the tiki style dining area. bugs weren't an issue (in Jan). Enjoyed the community room. They had a few outdoor activities if wanted (including kayaks and boat). We walk a lot and there wasn't a big walking area but the area they had was nice and well maintained.
- Mary (8/5): - The complimentary breakfast of yogurt, fruit, juice and hot beverage was good.
The drive to the airport is very quick; great for early am departures. The staff made a couple of errors with the meal orders, but they quickly remedied the mistakes.
- Suzanne (6/5): It was ok but couldn’t really enjoy the benefits. - The hotel breakfast was good. The location was over a lagoon so we could look out and see birds, fish and crocodiles.
The staff was very nice. They did not have a coffee maker in the room so we had to go to a restaurant for coffee. There was a nice balcony off the room and we couldn’t enjoy a morning or evening coffee on it since they didn’t provide one in the room.
- Sarah (10/5): Stay here for a great experience close enough to the city. - The staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant was great!
- Beverly (9/5): Great stay, we’d stay there again! - It was centrally located to shops, restaurants & grocery stores; clean, good wifi, hidden away from the main road, so it was very quiet. The kitchen chairs were very uncomfortable & the sofa has seen better days. No onsite restaurant so no continental breakfast or quick bite options. Other than that, we loved it! Beds & pillows were comfy.
- Camille (8/5): Great location and wonderful staff - Great location right on the water and not too far from the airport. All staff were lovely and accomodating. Bed was very soft and lighting in our suite was a bit harsh - but still had a great stay. I wouldnt let that deter me, Would stay here again.
- Denise (7/5): A good experience overall. The staff members are super friendly and helpful. Room was a bit dated. The property overall - The location is close to the airport so was perfect for a one night stay. Not close to any stores or restaurants and the onsite restaurant food was a bit pricey and just ok.
- Jen (8/5): - Beautiful grounds, very tropical and quiet. Really like the hut where meals were served. The staff was very helpful in the office and restaurant. Much appreciated ride to airport in time for flight. We didn't use the pool but it was nicer than expected. Great game room with pool table, bar feature, big screen - really nice. The continental breakfast portions were small and the juice didn't taste natural (more like a fruit drink). Although the room was large there were no hooks to hang clothes and those for towels were broken. The room needs TLC, mattress too soft. That said, would consider returning.
- Mark (9/5): Terrific staff, comfortable accommodations, very good food and overall great service. - We had two terrific stays. The staff was super friendly and helpful; after staying one night at the beginning of our trip after landing and before heading to San Ignacio, our flight home was cancelled and the staff did a fabulous job creating an extra room for us (literally cleaning out a room that had been used for storage but had beds, bathroom, etc.) on super short notice. The food was very good as well, although the service was a bit slow as the kitchen was small with a limited staff.
- Alberta (9/5): Lovely! - Excellent meal ans staff. Awesome natural environment! We always stay here. All perfect but bed was too soft for my aging back. Pillows were really lumpy and hard.
- Robert (10/5): The staff will make you feel like family! - Great location and great staff! Nothing.
- Branden (10/5): - Staff was amazing and accommodating for a thing we asked for. Food is delicious. The atmosphere is slow and relaxing.
- Luis (5/5): That need to change the beds. - It was clean The bed. Bad quality bed and it was damaged. I couldn’t sleep properly.
- Paul (8/5): Would stay again. - Cool location on river and ocean in a bit of mangrove. Great staff. Food simple but very tasty. Food was good but expensive.
- Girard (6/5): -
- Catherine (9/5): - Good value for all this place has to offer. Pool, kayak, beach volleyball, pool table, darts. Wildlife observation .
Good restaurant on site. Nothing
- houstonsol (10/5): - Cool natural location. Awesome cabanas! Great air conditioning. Nice infinity pool. Cozy and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Plenty of iguanas roaming around. A bit funky and casual. Not for the resort going type. But for us, we loved it!! The restaurant is open air with a thatch roof. There are free kayaks available. You are captive to the restaurant. Not very easy to cook for yourself. A bit pricey. But otherwise, great!
- Taylor (9/5): Loved it! Would return again! - Lots to do, clean and kind staff The kayaks are in poor condition
- Leanne (6/5): It was alright - Cabanas were clean. Food was good. Staff was friendly Isn’t really as advertised. Too much money for quality.
- Kim (9/5): Close to the airport - The family who ran it, kind helpful people. Bugs and you can not swim in the ocean as there are crocs
- crichter288 (8/5): -
- Nicole (10/5): Lovely - The pool was so wonderful. My son and I needed a night of swimming and AC and this was perfect. We'll be back!
- Ann (3/5): Only if the price is right. - Pretty grounds. Dinner at the restaurant was very good. The fish empanadas and snapper were some of the best we ever had. Rooms are not dark at night. Isolated location no place to walk off site. Restaurant is outside where there are tons of bugs.
- Kim (8/5): - Quiet private Can’t swim in the ocean alligators
- Mark (10/5): A big mix of real retreat, wonders of nature and fun - -Great to retreat and immerse nature and the sound of that during the night, just by the mangroves, monkeys and birds nests
-It is a quality place
-Very kind, intelligent (just enough cheeky :D ) Team and people running it, and they seem to love their job and humanity
-Their boar tour at the river/ocean open-water side was superb, we had great fun and relax (and almost Moby Dick if the fishing line is stronger)
-The food prep with love (too big portion this time for me but tasty)
-The location and the house like in Paradise
- Tonu (10/5): -
- Mike (6/5): Good location, amazing kitchen staff. - Cabin was clean, staff … especially the kitchen staff were amazing! Pool itself was nice Property was very tired, the owner needs to update and repair most of it, especially the furniture in the pool area, outside dining area, walkways, yard lighting
- Floyd (10/5): Great place for families when you need a place to stay in Belize City! - Great resort with everything you need to relax and enjoy your time in Belize City. The cabins are clean and kept cool, and the views are awesome. My kids loved the pool and walking around the resort. We had a great time and will be back!
- Ben (10/5): Secluded with great views. Meals cooked from scratch and worth the wait. - Beautiful views and quiet environment. Quite a few mosquitoes.
- Josina (7/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Incredible staff, clean room, AMAZING views! - This was an amazing stay on my way to the islands. The staff were so helpful. I changed my travels based off of recommendations and it worked out really well. Thank you! Excellent breakfast Loved it all!
- Zofia (8/5): Almost Paradise - The staff made this place! They were so lovely, so friendly and so attentive. The property is quite far from anything and you do need to book on tours to do things (which is impossible when you are single and have to pay for two people)
- Kimberly (10/5): -
- Christina (8/5): Beautiful property. Loved the availability of the kayaks & the very friendly staff. - The staff was wonderful! The grounds were beautiful!! The food at the restaurant was great. Though it took a while to get the food at the restaurant, you could tell it was all being made fresh. They didn't have the room that I booked available. What the provided was nice but I was looking forward to the hot tub & not having to go up & down steps with my knee hurting. Took a while to get the food.
- Terrissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (9/5): Beautiful and peaceful retreat conveniently located just five miles from the airport. - The continental breakfast consisted of yogurt, toast and fresh fruit which was brought up to us in a very quaint thatch-roofed dining area about 12 feet off the ground. The tables and chairs in the dining area were all uniquely made with what appears to be mahogany wood. The breakfast was sufficient for us and comes free of charge with the room rate, however if you want a different breakfast, it could be ordered and made for an additional price. We only stayed one night before our return to the States, but we really liked the layout of the various cabins and buildings on the property. The breeze was spectacular both at night and in the morning when we were eating breakfast. We had a room with two queen sized beds, which were very comfortable. Loved the shower - it had a big shower head with good water pressure.
When we checked in, the owner showed us to our room and even carried my wife's suitcase up to the room for her, which we thought was extremely thoughtful of him. Our only complaint would be that it was a little hard to find the place. And the road to the resort has a lot of huge potholes. Other than that, it was great!
- Deb (9/5): Great place I stayed at a total of 4 nights, coming and going from Belize City. - Great staff and accomodations! The restaurant staff in particular were amazing! Nothing!
- Yvonne (7/5): Good - Attitude of restaurant staff. Friendly , warm and welcoming
Great setting. Lovely view. No wardrobe to hang clothes. Had to carry bags up stairs. Check in hard to find. Only 1 iron and hair dryer for the whole hotel. Property has seen better days
