• Catharina (10/5): Phenomenal! - The Frana Lodge exceeded our expectations. From the very first second Iván picked us up at the meeting point, we felt completely at ease. The walk to the lodge was absolutely fine and very easy for us to manage, and crossing the river each time was an experience we truly enjoyed. Upon arrival, we were immediately offered water and towels, and warmly welcomed by Franz, the owner. The rooms are in excellent condition, equipped with a fan and a mosquito net, and are cleaned daily. The beds were by far the most comfortable we’ve had during our travels, and the pillows were incredibly cozy. No matter where you are in the lodge, the view is simply breathtaking. The location is also ideal, with close proximity to many beaches, Tayrona National Park, and a variety of activities. The food is outstanding, both breakfast and dinner are delicious, and lunch is also available. The portions are perfect and clearly prepared with care and attention to detail. The staff are incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive. Everyone goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a perfect stay and are always happy to assist with any questions. Iván, in particular, made our stay even more special with his friendly and cheerful personality. You can truly feel that the people working there love what they do, and that Frank has created a wonderful atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. They also have the sweetest pets, we loved them so much! In summary, this is the perfect place to relax, and we highly recommend it.

• Marc (9/5): - Sehr schöne Anlage, freundliches Personal. Ein Ort um zu geniessen. Man muss etwa 15 min durch den Dschungel auf Pfäden und über Brücken laufen, aber das ist genau das was es ausmacht. Die Zimmer sind wirklich schön und professionell gebaut. Die Verrechnung unserer Konsumationen wurden bei der Abreise versucht doppelt zu verrechnen. Vielleicht war es ein Fehler, vielleicht auch gewollt.

• Monica (10/5): Comfort, adventure and friendship! - If you love nature and adventure, if you like to make new charming friends and if you want to disconnect and relax for a bit, this is the perfect place for you! Everything in Frana Lodge works perfectly (communication, payment, accommodation, staff, food, drinks, etc.) thanks to the lovely couple that give name to the lodge and the amazing staff they have hired and trained. You feel at home a minute after arrival and although there's space for privacy if you choose so, it's almost impossible not to make friends really quickly. And not just Franz and Ana, because they create an atmosphere where you easily start chatting with the staff and the other guests. There's nature all around but the rooms are very comfortable (never bothered by bugs!), and there's hot water in the shower! (not easy to find in the Colombian Caribbean). Great service, yummy food, delicious drinks and the best coffee! Whatever we needed or wanted during our stay, they made it happen, and always with love and care. If you're going to Tayrona, don't hesitate and book this place right away! If you have mobility problems you might suffer a bit walking up to the lodge (crossing the river was easy and fun), but once you get there, you'll be rewarded with a beautiful view.
• Mirjana (10/5): Der perfekte Place to slow down - Wir haben fast eine Woche in der Frana Lodge verbracht und uns von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Lodge liegt mitten im Dschungel – man überquert einen kleinen Fluss und läuft ein Stück durch die Natur, bevor man ankommt. Genau das macht diesen Ort so besonders. Der größte Luxus dort ist die Ruhe. Kein Trubel, kein Lärm – stattdessen Vogelgezwitscher am Morgen, Affen in den Bäumen, Schmetterlinge und Natur pur. Man kommt automatisch runter und wird entschleunigt. Das Herz der Lodge sind die Menschen. Wir wurden unglaublich herzlich empfangen. Ein besonderes Dankeschön an Ivan, Franz und das großartige Küchenteam, das uns jeden Tag so liebevoll mit frisch zubereitetem Essen versorgt hat. Für uns war es das beste vegetarische Essen in ganz Kolumbien. Auch die Umgebung ist spannend – nicht weit vom Meer und vom Tayrona Park, aber trotzdem ruhig und abgeschieden. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder und können die Frana Lodge absolut weiterempfehlen.
• juliette (9/5): - Mention particulière à Ivan qui s’est accueillir à la perfection et fait tout pour que le séjour se déroule au mieux. L’hôtel est très beau, propre et bien décoré. Isole en pleine jungle, c’est un havre de paix en pleine nature. Le restaurant est excellent ! Il faut juste avoir en tête les 25 min de rando pour y arriver !
• Maja (10/5): Wonderful stay in the jungle - Nos encantó absolutamente nuestra estadía aquí. Desde el primer momento nos sentimos bienvenidos: tanto los dueños como todo el equipo son increíblemente amables, atentos y siempre con una sonrisa. La atención al cliente es excepcional; muchas veces parecía que sabían lo que necesitábamos incluso antes de que lo pidiéramos. La comida fue simplemente espectacular: todo súper, súper rico, preparado con productos de excelente calidad y con muchísimo cuidado en cada detalle. Se nota el cariño y la dedicación en cada plato. Todo estaba impecablemente limpio. La casa donde nos hospedamos está hecha con muchísimo gusto, cada detalle está bien pensado y cuidado. Además, la naturaleza alrededor es impresionante: estar rodeados de tanta vegetación y tranquilidad fue una experiencia mágica. Es importante tener en cuenta que está en medio de la jungla y básicamente hay que llegar caminando. Si alguien no está dispuesto a caminar un poco, puede que no sea su lugar ideal. Pero para nosotros, eso fue parte del encanto y lo hizo aún más especial. Sin duda, volveríamos. We loved everything
• jmoore3 (7/5): Overall good, but.. - Frana Lodge itself is an amazing remote lodge surrounded by nature and with 5 star service and cuisine. The hot shower was immense and the meals were some of the best we had during our time in Colombia. There are a few small things we felt could be improved. The property asks for a 50% down payment after booking which is understandable but they impose a 7% fee for card payments. This feels like an unavoidable hidden fee but we were able to find a suitable alternative with the property. Access to the property was particularly challenging during our stay. We were made aware of a 20 minute walk at the time of booking but on the morning of our arrival we were told that due to weather and river conditions the walk would be an additional 15 minutes and unfortunately it coincided with torrential rain. The property charges extra for porters/mules so we would have appreciated a clearer offer of assistance given the circumstances. The walk would absolutely not have been suitable for anyone with mobility issues or without a reasonable level of fitness.

• Kai (10/5): Übernachten wie bei Freunden mitten in der Natur - Ideal für Naturliebhaber, die gleichzeitig Ruhe als auch freundliche, nette, kommunikative Leute um sich haben. Die Lage und Ausblicke einmalig, das ganze Team unglaublich nett und aufgeschlossen, Franz hilft, wo er nur kann, sein Assistent Ivan unglaublich hilfsbereit und spannende Gespräche am Abend. Toll auch der nette Abhol- und Zurück Service durch Ivan! Essen schmackhaft, abwechslungsreich und günstig auch. Kann es nur uneingeschränkt empfehlen und hoffe, bald zurückzukehren! Gracias Franz, Ivan y todo el equipo por esa estancia única! Hasta la próxima y un abrazo. PS: Fußgängerbrücke über das Flüsschen im Bau, so bald noch komfortabler am Ziel. • Ana (10/5): We loved our time here, it was absolutely perfect! - The place is super beautiful, surrounded by nature and very peaceful. The food is AMAZING, very natural and homemade by the sweetest colombian woman. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and friendly and their little dogs are the cutest! The location is also very good, you do have to walk about 1km from the road and cross a river as they indicate, but from that road access there are little shops nearby and the Tayrona main entrance is like a 10min walk. 100% recommend it! Gracias a todo el equipo!

• Fredrik (10/5): If you want to be close to nature in a very welcoming atmosphere this is the place - One of the best places I’ve traveled to so far in Colombia, in the middle of nowhere more or less. Amazing surroundings and a lot to see and do nearby. The Tayrona national park is also pretty close. Very helpful staff and incredibly good food for a reasonable price. Also the staff is very helpful to help you if you have any questions about the area, what to see etc. You will also have to cross a river to get there which is an experience by itself. You are surrounded by beautiful nature everywhere! The facilities are very nice as well, I stayed in the cabin which is located a bit outside of the main lodge. Very cozy and private with lots of space. I already miss this place! So happy to have been here and would love to come back! Thanks for the friendly and cozy atmosphere. Absolutely nothing
• Selwyn (7/5): Beautiful jungle lodge - Beautiful location in the middle of the jungle. With stunning views from the different terraces. The owners were friendly and gave us useful tips about what to do and where to go. -For the price I would have expected a hot shower. -It would have been nice if breakfast was included in the price instead of 33.000 per person. Since there isn’t really an alternative. -The bed in our cabin wasn’t great.
• Josephine (10/5): Exceptional - The place is set is beautiful área, surrounded by nature. You can listen to the birds signing and the sounds of nature at night and during the day. It is very relaxing. Beware that the place is set in the middle of the forest, so to get there you must walk along the river and then hike a steep path at the end, about 20 minutes.
• Tristinn (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay at Frana Lodge was excellent. The staff met us right on time to take us on the 15-minute walk to the lodge. Do be prepared for a hike uphill and a river crossing. I'd recommend using a backpack or light luggage that you can easily carry. Our hosts were delightful and all the staff was great to work with. If you don't know what to do during your stay, don't worry. The hosts had many wonderful recommendations for how to make the most of our time there. In addition, the food served on-site was wonderful and the accommodation spaces were exactly as described.
• Jana (9/5): Lovely lodge in the middle of the jungle - Frana Lodge is a very beautiful accomodation in the middle of the jungle. Franz and Ana did a great job to create a beautiful hideout from all the fuss around (e.g., Tayrona, Santa Marta). Everything about the lodge was lovely: the huge cabin in the forest where we stayed at, the main area with a lot of hammocks and the newly build terrace. There are some marvellous views into the mountains. Everything was very clean and beautifully furnished. Franz is very attentive and helpful. The way to the accomodation can be a bit tiring (it took us around 25 minutes), but it is definitely worth it, especially if you stay more than one night (what we would recommend!). When we arrived, we were picked up from the bus so that we could find the way easily. Note that you have to cross a river with the water as high as your thighs, so dress appropriately (Franz told us that they are currently building a bridge, so this could change soon). The food was tasty and even included some proper bread for breakfast. The only thing we didn't like was that the food is a bit pricey (30000 breakfast, 40000 vegetarian dinner, 45000 meat, 60000 fish), while at the same time the portions were small, especially the vegetarian option (it basically consisted of rice, three slices of zucchini and a bit of beetroot salad). I understand that they have to carry the food on horses to the accomodation, but even in the Tayrona national park you get more food for similar prices. As the lodge is so remote, you don't really have other options than eating there.

• Sophie (10/5): Completely unique and beautiful experience! - This was my favourite place to stay in Colombia! It is such a unique place, nestled in the rainforest about a 15min walk (through beautiful lush forest) from the main road where the park entrance is. I visited the park but I think the location of this guest house is more beautiful and much less touristy. Nearby you can find a couple of lovely hidden restaurants, a cacao cafe and cacao finca where you can have tours. The owners at Frana are such genuine, warm-hearted people and made me feel like I was being welcomed into their own home. Delicious home-cooked food, good wine, lovely company. Cannot recommend this more if you’re looking for a relaxing time in nature 😊 Not a thing!
• Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect!! My girlfriend and I loved this place. It is set in a rainforest, up on a hill, close to Tyrona National Park. The food was incredible. Host was super friendly and always willing to help. Room was comfy and we had a great view of the surrounding rainforest. There are hammocks to lounge in when relaxing and one of my favorite things is they offer free filtered water. They did not force us to buy plastic water bottles, contributing plastic pollution to the beautiful Colombian rainforest. FYI, there is a 10-15 minute hike to get to the lodge. It is well worth it though.
• Cécile (10/5): Magical place in the middle of nature - We loved absolutely everything at Frana Lodge. Franz and Anni are extremely caring with their guests. From the thoroughly organized welcome, help with carrying luggage, helping out with rental car reservation, tips on what to do around (don’t miss to go bade in the river), the amazing food, and much more. We sleep like babies in the middle of beautiful nature. Frana lodge is a magical place where your soul can rest. The cherry on the cake (if you love animals) are the super kind and sweet cats and dogs. Nothing at all
• Wp (9/5): Superb - Beautiful jungle Lodge near Parque Tayrona. You need to walk 15 tot 20 minutes to get there, and pass a river, but this is part of the experience. The house is located away from the road and the noise , you can only hear the birds and the monkeys. Warm welcome by the owners and they can help you if you have questions about the park or transportation. , Nice breakfast and lovely dinner. Highly recommended.

• Leona (10/5): Exceptional - The way to the lodge is the first highlight. It goes through the jungle and across 2 rivers. The rooms are spacious and very clean. You really feel like you're sleeping in the jungle. It's the perfect place for people looking for peace and quiet. For us it really was a unique experience in the middle of nature. It's only about 20 minutes to Tyron National Park. Franz and Ani are very helpful and help with everything. We felt very comfortable and welcome. The staff are all very nice and the food was very good. A big plus was the massage that Franz organised after our hike in the national park. These 2 nights were the best days for us in Colombia. • Tobias (10/5): Exceptional - Franz and Ana are just great hosts that make you feel very welcome from the first moment. The lodge is one of the few locations that actually look exactly like in the photos! Great food for breakfast and dinner at very reasonable prices. Would love to return one time! Be aware that it's a 2km hike from the road crossing 2 rivers by food on the way. We enjoyed it, but you should be aware. As enjoyable as the open design of the rooms is, it affects the feeling of privacy with the walkway right underneath the bedroom window. You fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of the jungle, but you can also hear everything else.

• Annie (10/5): The best place to stay in Tayrona - Frana lodge was our favourite place to stay in Colombia. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful and is surrounded by nature (we saw monkeys almost every day). Franz and Ana went out of their way to make us feel very at home - lending us yoga mats, arranging an airport taxi and even getting mosquito spray for us! Ana’s cooking was delicious, including fresh and locally sourced ingredients. We ate almost every meal at the lodge which we would definitely suggest doing as it is very reasonable priced. The homemade mango juice was the best we have ever had! The rooms are comfortable and have amazing views of the jungle, being able to see the mountains from the shower is incredible. Franz gave us a tour of the land, helpful recommendations to explore the surrounding area and tips for our day trip to Tayrona national park. The other staff at the property were also very friendly and helped us carry our bags from the main road to the property, which was the start of our amazing adventure here! We couldn’t recommend this place more. That we couldn’t stay longer.

He even walked with us for a wile around the place showed us place to relax and swim. We had nice conversations during the night. The food was amazing and the rooms are clean and modern. You really can relaxe there before or after your tayrona visit. We fully can recommend this place. Nothing

Each room has great views of the mountains and jungle that surround you. The sunsets in particular were very special. The hosts, Franz and Ana, are extremely nice people and very accommodating. They really make you feel at home, while giving you the space to take in the peace and tranquility of the surroundings. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was among the best we had during our four weeks in Colombia. I cannot recommend this place enough. Having read the reviews before arriving, we were a little daunted by how remote the house was - but there was no need be daunted. The hosts met us at the road and walked with us to the accommodation. If you are used to some light hiking, it is no problem at all and makes for a very special journey every day. By the second day, you feel like a local. Nothing

The lodge itself is beautiful, with amazing views of the rainforest (which - no exaggeration - looks like paradise on Earth.) Hosts (Franz and Ani) were very friendly and helped ensure we had an unforgettable experience. Also Ani's delightful Latin jazz playlist was rivaled only by her excellent cooking - make sure you opt for eating meals at the lodge, they were delicious and reasonably priced. Moreover, they are truly a part of the local community, and through them we met some wonderful local folks, got to enjoy their hospitality, and try some of their products - from raw chocolate and Sacher cake to various magic potions! All in all, this was one of the best holidays I ever had. Everything was great, my only complaint is that I live in Europe and can't visit every summer.

However, what truly set Frana Home apart was the way the hosts treated us. From the warm welcome to the personalized care throughout our stay, we felt like we were part of their family. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable and enjoyable experience. We left with wonderful memories and a deep appreciation for the exceptional hospitality of Franz and Ana. And with a happy stomach (thank you Ana). We can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for a remarkable experience, Frana Home is the perfect choice. We're already looking forward to returning someday to relive this fantastic experience!
