Guest Reviews
- Anthony (10/5): Great host and location for a personal villa that is just outside of the city center. - The location was excellent. Just enough outside the city center to feel like you are in your own private villa, but access to a bus stop, taxis, and walking distance to the Porta Romana area. The host, Christian, is incredibly nice and helpful with anything you may need. Lots of extra amenities available that we didn't expect from coffees, drinks, etc. Room setup is also great with 2 bedrooms completely separated by the living area and kitchen.
- Paul (10/5): Nice, quiet property up in the hillside above Firenze - Christian was an excellent host. We communicated through WhatsApp and he met us at the gate upon arrival. We rented a car for half of our stay and there was free parking behind an automatic gate on the property.
The property is a quick bus ride down to the entrance to Florence (Porta Romana). Bus does not operate on Sunday. Fare is €1.70 and for a taxi ride is between €20-25.
Property is very quiet, beds were comfortable and shower was hot. The house is set back away from the main property. We did not need AC during our visit but did turn on the heater when it started to get chilly at night. For your convenience, there are refreshments in the refrigerator, coffee pods and a washer AND dryer. None
- Michel (10/5): - La maison le jardin. L'environnement Rien
- robert (10/5): Perfect location for me . You can walk down to town or head out into the countryside. Wish I didn’t have to leave - Cute villa on the outskirts of Florence centre .. quiet away from the busy streets . Stayed for 10 days with 20 year old daughter . Has everything you need . Christian is very helpful and accomodating and very very easy to bus or walk into town . Added touch of having a few supplies on arrival especially in the heat of summer . Nothing
- Chris (10/5): La Limonaia, how we miss you! - Agh! La Limonaia, how we miss you already! A true home away from home nestled in the leafy rural suburbs just a 20 minute walk (10 minute bus) into downtown Florence. We had a 6 year old and 3 year old and strolled into downtown Florence and back everyday and returned to the peaceful, leafy (lemon treed courtyard) and and perfectly quiet private comfort of La Limonaia, a lovely and elegant cottage sitting adjacent to a beautiful courtyard of a 1380’s villa. You are settled away in your own gardens with lawn and private hedgerow with patio and sitting area. Unit is well furnished with two main bedrooms on opposite ends of unit for privacy, well appointed and modern bathrooms and kitchen with Lavazza coffee maker. Christian the owner is an amazing, friendly and knowledgeable host, and readily available for your needs. We would return to what felt like a true home in Florence as soon as we can! Note the walk down into town is easy with plenty of food and wine shops along the way. The walk up is up a hill and may be a bit of a challenge for some but a small bus drops you off outside the property and runs on a regular basis, there is also taxi service. We walked into Florence and back with the kids daily (with a stroller for the little one, was a great way to burn off some of the excellent gelato we enjoyed in Florence. Nothing it was perfect for a family, or 2 couples or a single person wishing to have a quiet and restful base in which to explore Florence and surrounding area.
- Tony (10/5): Great detatched property, close to the city - A great location just outside of city walls Everything was amazing
- Daphna (10/5): Our stay was wonderful and the property is beautiful! - The property and villa were very well maintained. The beds were very comfortable. It was also very peaceful and delightful to have dinner outside. We really felt the contryside of Tuscany as we sat outside. Christian, the manager, was very accommodating and friendly. Upon our arrival, he even offered us dinner for the 4 of us. We did not like that the bus does not run so frequently. But it is easy and right outside the villa and cabs are easy, quick and not so expensive.
- Jack (9/5): Great short stay for my family, short drive into Florence, would recommend! - Wonderful location, just a short drive from Florence. Beautiful setting. Christian the host was a lovely man and a great host!
- Pamela (10/5): Wonderful - Felt like we were staying at an Orangery. Warm and welcoming set in a beautiful garden. The weather
- Caseyman (9/5): Superb - Nice equipments, good base to explore Florence. Comfortable stay for 4 weeks. Better to stay with car. Check In /Out is difficult without it or on Sunday as there is no public transportation.
- Nathan (9/5): A lovely spacious accommodation - The 2 shower/bathrooms is a bonus, very spacious and lots of information on the booklet. Beds are very comfy with no bed bugs. Two air conditioning units to keep us cool. There were drinks in fridge and dishwasher tablets, coffee capsules etc in the cupboard, bus tickets if required, which was very thoughtful, though drinks, coffee capsules, bus tickets are at cost. There was a pay as you use washing machine/tumble dryer in the shed. It could improve things if there were nets at the windows/door to stop mosquito coming into the accommodation. Having air condition does help though. Also having extractor fans installed in both bathroom/shower would improve the moisture being trapped in the accommodation.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carly (10/5): Exceptional - Staying at la limonaia was like having our own private, magical retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Florence. It was beautiful, quiet, and serene. Christian was an excellent host. He was attentive while giving us all the privacy we needed. He also provided us with his amazing visitor's guide, which helped us our entire time in Florence! I am so glad we got to stay at this fantastic property! Only one bus goes to and from la limonaia and Florence. If you time it right, it is easy and convenient! If you don't, it can make your stay a little more complicated. Luckily, it was pretty easy to get taxis to take you back, or it is walkable if you don't mind a bit of a hill on the way home.
- Cesar (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): Excellent place: walking distance to Porta Romana. - Everything.
An excelleny location. Quiet, surrounded by greenery and old villas, yet very close to town by walking or bus from the front gate.
Beautiful, recent, high quality renovation of a limonaia surrounded by gardens and trees. 2 ample bedròms, bathrooms, kitchen and living room.
Outside table and chairs, barbeque.
Charming and very helpful host named Christian. Nothing
- Lars (9/5): Christian is a superb host, we can really recommend this accommodation. -
- Leah (10/5): Wonderful la limonaia - The apartment was bigger than anticipated. The beds were very comfortable, everything was very clean, also two bathrooms, with nice shower wash provided, etc. The kitchen was fully equipped, and Christian leaves essentials in the fridge, plus beer and bubbles, to get you started, and you just leave the money for what you have used. It's so peaceful and I enjoyed sitting with coffee or wine on the patio. It's a good walk into town, but my teenage boys didn't complain, especially as there is a steep walk on the way back. It's very safe, we would walk back about 11pm and just enjoy the fresh air, and stars, and looking at the lovely villas. Christian was a fabulous host. He is around if you need to ask anything, and up for a chat, and if you want privacy you have it. He is such a gentleman!
We didn't get the bus into town, but we did see it pass, and there is a bus stop just outside. I would recommend this beautiful slice of paradise to anyone, and feel very blessed to have spent out time in Florence there. Nothing.
- Hester (9/5): Superb - Christian is a wonderful host who gave us helpful information and suggestions about restaurants, bus schedules and general tips. His hospitality is exceptional. The apartment is very comfortable, we enjoyed our stay!
- Siobhán (10/5): Beat of both worlds: charming modern Italian mini villa - A very high standard property with hotel style mattresses so comfortable and modern powerful shower! Lots of extras that I was delighted to find such as conditioner & shampoo in both bathrooms. Coffee pods, milk, water, wine etc in the fridge. We happily cooked in the kitchen! Christian our host was incredible and charming he gave us bus tickets to help us get started and couldn’t do enough to help us when we had questions. It was lovely to stay close enough to the city that we walked a few times but also it felt rural and peaceful at night. The lemon trees and outdoor sitting area were a fabulous bonus. I honestly highly recommend this property. that we had to leave :-)
- Daniel,s (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect place. The apartments are spacious, clean, cozy and comfortable. Large green area, charming garden. Pleasant host. We really enjoyed. Quiet, beautiful dream, the birds sing. Recommended. We really missed a simple electric kettle. The set of dishes is huge, but there are no usual deep bowls for soup or porridge.
- Stan (10/5): Thank you. - Love the privacy. Inside the city, but also outside of it.
- Krzysztof (10/5): It was a wonderful stay, Florence it is a beautiful city. - the beautiful situated apartament, super equipped. The landlord helped with the organization. Thank you very much for a great time
- Iulia (10/5): Only one day in Florence, under heavy rain, queue at the entrance of Museums, marvelous town!!😍😍😍 - Despite the heavy rain, Limonaia looks wonderful, behind the elegant garden and patio with lemon trees, magnolias, wisterias and roses. The apartment is not very large, but is spacious by its clever partitioning. Comfortable, spotless clean, with modern and high quality amenities, Limonaia is a top accommodation.(”to say nothing” of the perfect host, Christian).
A little difficult to find by navigator, but, once there, you are given the best directions to get to Florence in short time.
There is a bus station right in front of the property, but we went to Florence by car and parked it in a big garage by the central train station; from there, in 10 min you are at the Dom. Excellent location and host.👏👏
- Nilesh (10/5): A very wonderful stay. Christian was so helpful with planning the day trips - Facilities were awesome. Location is perfect for day trips and see Florence
