• Victoria (9/5): - The whirlpool was amazing and everything looks very nice. Perfect for a few days. A car is needed but everything is within an short drive. I cooled down very nicely during the night without needing an AC. There were a lot of ants which you would expect some but not as many. The large insect screen did not work properly. The cabinets in the kitchen smelled kind of musty.

• Letitia (2/5): We left and found a villa in town with no insect infestation and an air conditioning unit. - Not much. I usually don’t take the time to offer reviews of our lodging experiences, but in this case I decided to relay OUR experience to potential travelers so they can have a better set of expectations than we had when we decided to book an 8 day stay here, based largely on the photos, description and the ratings from others. So many things that did not get said by others or fully noted in the description by us. Our stay was booked from May 10th to May 18th. We paid up front, in cash when we arrived, for the whole time. We left after only 3 nights. We could not take it anymore! When we left, the owner did not offer us any refund on our unused nights. It just would have been a “stand-up” gesture on his part because we said we were not sleeping, and I told him why when he asked. He even agreed with our concerns. I did not expect it, as we did book it for the 8 nights. It just would have been nice. The place has no air-conditioner. It has open screening around the whole perimeter at the top. Even in May it was hot, so I can’t imagine what it’s like in the summer months here. The bed is therefore very hot, and not very comfortable. What’s more: the flying bugs everywhere. The owner tried to tell us it was because of recent rains and just to keep the lights off so as not to attract them. How fun of a vacation is that if you can’t even read in bed because the bugs fly at your face. There was no bug screening above the bed. My suggestion: Take a red headlamp to move around the unit at night. Red light does not attract bugs. There is free WiFi though, but you won’t want to use your devices at night because they attract bugs! Hundreds of them swarm your device Also, take an abundance of bug spray for your legs when out on the deck. Our feet and legs are like “battle zones” after only 3 nights. The feeble plug-in bug repellent that the owner supplied did nothing inside the unit.

• Glauco (10/5): Best stay in Costa Rica - The best room we have stayed in Costa Rica! Really new and clean, also very well furnished and integrated into the surrounding nature. The forest facing balcony with jacuzzi is a great plus. Walls are really thin and cealing is open (protected by mosquito nets): a quiet night will depend on the good behaviors of your neighbors.

• Susan (10/5): Enjoyed the property and would stay again. - I liked that we could open the glass doors and sleep with the doors open at night. Loved the view of the trees that gave privacy. Lovely setting. I wish there had been a comfortable chair or couch to sit on inside. Understandably, the owners once had a couch inside but people sat on it after being in the jacuzzi so had to remove it.
• Maria (10/5): Cozy and romantic stay - We loved the stay here! The hosts were so nice & helped us with lots of recommendations! We had bad luck with the weather but it was so nice because we could stay in the whirlpool many hours :) really clean and big room. You need the car though, if you want to go to Samara, but its only 4 minutes or something so totally ok. Also safe, because the main entrance was locked. Would definitely stay here again.
• Elsemiek (9/5): Superb - The location was good (nearby samara). The lodge was spacious and clean. We liked the terrace with the jacuzzi and the beautifull surroundings. We saw a lot of wildlife in the garden. The owner is quick in responding when you have any questions or concerns.
