- E (8/5): Very good - Great location, but off the road so super quite. Good air con and facilities, clean and ok value for money. The staff was a little hard to get hold of and it was all slightly run down - but still clean.
- Ngoc (8/5): Very good - - Host is very friendly and cheerful
- good position
- Lindsey (4/5): Disappointing - Staff was friendly and good location. Check-in was confusing and we didn't think we were in the right place at first. The place was pretty run down. The room was very humid and there was some mold growing In the room/on the bed.
- Sergio (4/5): Disappointing - The owner was very friendly and helpful, allowing us to check in late (11.30pm). The location was great. They have a hostel very close (well reviewed) where we had breakfast with a discount and very good laundry. They also organise very convenient tours. I did not feel like the room was healthy since the wall had some humidity stains and weird smell. Also the bed shits we’re not feeling so fresh.
- Daniëlle (4/5): Not very clean - The location was good, it's in Old Quarter and a lot is in walking distance. The room was a bit dirty and there was mold on the walls. If we didn't open a window, it directly started to smell really bad in the room. The bedsheets smelled weird and didn't feel very clean.
- Nicolas (9/5): Superb - We were helped a lot to book our trip to Sapa!
- Carol (9/5): Welcomed as part of the family and really looked after. - Snuggled away down an alley, so no traffic noise. Good A/C
Most of all, amazing host, Johnny - helped us organise some trips, contacted us while we were away to ensure all going well, and intervened if we had any problems. Could not have been more diligent or attentive.
Even a bonus free breakfast at Awesome hostel as we left.
- Darryl (6/5): Only ok - Location good , very good! Staff seemed nice to ! Aircon worked ok ..I was allowed early check in which was nice ! Fridge in room broken, not working after running it for 4 hours, window in room broken to so could not close it , room had a lot of mould or something on walls ? Overall I felt it was a bit run down and i have to be honest, over priced for Vietnam standards for what you got
- Chris (8/5): its a good place - amazing location great price i did not know the bathroom is shared , just needs a little love, some paint ... fridge was also broken
- System89 (9/5): Superb - Very good location, entrance quite dingy but you get used to it. A room with a fan, two beds, a shared bathroom which you have to remember to turn on the boiler. The check-in method leaves a bit to be desired - there are no numbered rooms, keys were left at the entrance and we were instructed by a camera whose audio quality left much to be desired and despite clear instructions to go to the top floor, we were shown the wrong room and we woke up someone accidentally (check-in around 11 p.m. ). This could be improved and the grades will certainly be more decent, best regards.
- Derek (3/5): Poor - Centre town reasonable price Room mouldy smell.very quite nobody around
- Dylan (1/5): Not worth the money - Pillows and mattress was comfy Felt cold and damp, covers on bed felt like they were wet.
Smell
Not clean downstairs
No one there on arrival had to wait
- Jack (10/5): 10/10 - We arrived late at night and Johnny came to greet us to show us to our room. We discussed our plans for the next few days to which Johnny and his wife were very pro active in helping us to find transport to our next destination. In the morning, Johnny invited us to coffee and to chill whilst we plan our trip and even allowed us to leave our bags whilst we explored the city. 10/10 Nothing
- Tereza (8/5): Very good -
- Sanchez (7/5): Good for asian standards:) - Nice owner with very cute kids. Good location. Comfortable bed. Not ultra clean but after some time in asia its like the standard I guess... the window was against a wall of bricks. Also normal for Hanoi I guess...
- Carlos (8/5): That hotel is very good for tu rest -
- Shuichi (3/5): I do not recommend staying in a room on the second floor because it smells bad. - Prices are cheap. The room was clean. The room was on the second floor, but it was smelly. It smelled so bad that I sent all my clothes to be cleaned afterwards.
I had to wait an hour to check in.
I didn't know where it was, so I sent a message a few days ago, but I didn't get a reply.
- Andrew (7/5): Good - Owner was very friendly and location was very good. Room was large but bit tired. But in general worth stating for price.
- Pascal (10/5): You need to meet this guy if you plan to come to the Vietnam and if you are a backpacker ! - So we need to tell you that Johnny is wonderful ! The room was cheap and very correct but it's not the best part.
With him we book a bus and three days in Halong Baie for a really really good price ! We were surbooking on the boat and we spend three days amazing. We recommand absolutely this guy, very cool, very professionnal with a wonderful good tips !
Thank you again Johnny ! Nothing
- Vecchi (7/5): Good -
- Ngọc (9/5): Superb -
- Karla (6/5): Pleasant - Friendly staff and very good located. The cleanliness of the bed should be improved, and the quality of the air in the room should be taken into account, because with the smell of humidity you cannot even sleep.
- Hailey (10/5): Best location with a very kind family and comfortable room - This was the absolute best location to stay in. The hosts are the nicest family with the cutest little boy. They give you ultimate privacy but are always willing to share advice and help you. The home, bedroom, and bathroom were very clean with very hot water and very cold A/C and a soft bed. We felt very welcomed and comfortable the whole time. Thank you for everything!!
- Courtney (7/5): Good -
- Marilyn (9/5): Superb - Great location steps from the lake and the Old Quarter. The place was right in the heart of restaurants, shops, hotels, yet quiet at nights the linens were clean, as was the bathroom
- Lukas (8/5): Great location -
- Rachael (10/5): Good location for those on a budget - Great location, we walked everywhere and our bus both in and out of the city was only a 4 min walk away which made it really easy to get to.
The family running the place were really nice and often away working elsewhere in the city so the place is very quiet. They also kept the communal bathroom very clean. Only a small note to the owners: The bed sheets were definitely clean/washed but there were a few small stains. Might need bleaching or replacing so other tourists know they're clean :-)
- Evie (10/5): Great location, clean friendly and comfortable!! - The family were really friendly, it was brilliant value for money. Really comfy and clean and had anything we needed amenities wise. It wasn’t noisy at all as it was further back from the street. Would definitely recommend! nothing!
- Tamara (7/5): nice & cheap family apartment - The location is very good - near to the Kiem Lake & the beer street (a lot of restaurants & bars), the price performance ratio is very good. Also we really liked the Host (& the whole family). A perfect apartment for 1-2 nights. It was very noisy and it’s a shared bathroom which could be cleaner. But all in all for this price its a good choice!
- Cécile (7/5): Good - Homestay was in the middle of the Center of Hanoi, so we could reach from there every place. The Person was nice and friendly! From the room you can easily hear what is outside and her child was very loud until 1AM so it was not easy for us to sleep.
- Woodhouse-darry (10/5): perfect Homestay in perfect location - The family are extremely nice and friendly, very helpful with everything including booking a bus out of Hanoi. This feels like a proper Homestay and gives you a bit of a feeling of living locally in Hanoi. can’t recommend them enough! it smells a bit damp, but if you’re looking for a place like this, everywhere has this issue in Hanoi.
- Elinesieb (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and helpful people. They helped me out with several things, even after I had left and was in a different town. Very thankful for that.
- Lalit (5/5): good location and value for money, host is very helpful - live kitchen and host shared bath
- Cáit (7/5): great location - The family were lovely. It has all the basics and is in a great location without being too noisy at night.
- Russell (5/5): It’s cheap for a reason. - Location is really good, and for the price it seems petty to complain about much - you get what you pay for. Staff friendly. I hate shared bathrooms. It’s listed as private but it is shared with another room on the landing. It was quite grubby and dirty, too. There was clearly a damp problem in the bedroom, too, that had been masked by paint.
- Jas (8/5): Great homestay right in the downtown of Hanoi - Very nice and super convenient homestay right in the downtown of Hanoi! the owners are very helpful and friendly and have also a restaurant with nice cooking classes, very recommended if you are looking for something more sustainable than most hotels 🥰
- Daniel (8/5): For one or two nights in Hanoi recommended - It was only for one night and we had everything we needed. The owner was very nice to us. The Bathroom was not really appealing.
- Anonymous (10/5): amazing, great value for money and will be back. - the owner and his son were very friendly, the property was ready hours before check in and it was nice and clean rooms were small but can’t complain with the location and amount paid for it!
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly people and nice rooms for the price
- Leigh (7/5): Good -
- Leigh (7/5): Nice little place in excellent location - fantastic location in old quarter. Room was spacious and AC was a nice addition.
- Akihisa (7/5): Good - Good location near by Old town
Friendly owner and his son.
Refregerator in the room. Bathroom is not clean.
