- Kate (10/5): A beautiful holiday home in a wonderful location. - The Villa Cosmik Riverside is in a great location just out of the main town in a quiet and beautiful suburb. Nestled amongst the trees it has stunning views across the river and is a good distance from both the city centre and Santa Claus village. It makes for a perfect location for those who want to both do some touristy activities but relax in the evenings with an authentic Lapland experience away from the hustle and bustle. The pictures of the villa do not do it justice, it is a large and spacious single floor dwelling with good facilities. The property was immaculately clean and well presented with everything fresh and in good working condition. For Christmas the property was tastefully decorated with Tonttu gnomes and a Christmas tree and warm white fairy lights which added magic to the winter wonderland and snowy backdrop. The grounds of the property were spacious with ample room for playing in the snow and sledging in the garden. Younger children will need to be closely supervised as there are open steep banks down to the river which could be unsafe to access in winter due to thin ice. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you might need to cook dinners, from sharp knives, pans and baking trays. There is a huge supermarket about 5 minutes away in the car. We used Uber to get around, fares to the city centre were about €25, to Santa’s Village were €20 and about €15 to the super market. So over a few days it was cheaper to use taxis rather than car hire. It’s not within walking distance of shops so bear that in mind. Our host Marcus greeted us on arrival, made us feel welcome and was available on WhatsApp for any questions throughout our stay. We were a family of two adults and two older children. Nothing really, it was the perfect choice for us.

Sie haben uns vom Flughafen abgeholt/hingebracht und sich um alle unsere Wünsche gekümmert, sogar extra ein Loch in das 80cm dicke Eis des Flusses gebohrt, um eine besondere Abkühlung nach dem Saunagang sicherzustellen. Wir haben uns in dem gemütlichen Haus sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten eine wunderbare Woche in Rovaniemi mit einer schönen Basis für unsere touristischen Ausflüge. Wir kommen gerne wieder😊
