Guest Reviews
- James (10/5): Exceptional - Very comfortable, beautifully decorated and with lots of amenities. Nothing
- Simon (10/5): A cozy and comfortable stay on the Camino de Invierno - I stayed here with my parents while walking the Camino de Invierno. It’s conveniently located right on the Camino as you are leaving A Rua.
It would probably best suit a couple (or two friends) given the house layout, which has the living room, kitchen and bathroom on the ground floor, with a king bed and sofa bed right beside it( air mattress, where I slept) up some stairs in a loft type set up. Navigating the stairs for night-time bathroom visits presented a challenge for my elderly Dad.
Everything is brand new, it has a/c / heating and a fully equipped kitchen which was great for us to prepare some food to take on the A Rua to Quiroga stage which doesn’t have any cafes or shops to buy food along the way. But you will need to visit the supermarket beforehand in A Rua.
The host’s communication was great, and they were very kind and accomodating allowing us an early check in and also helping to facilitate baggage transfer (which we had organised through Manuel at Bar Mar in Sobradelo).
All in all it was a very restive and comfortable stay and a great option for a pilgrims who aren’t on a strict budget and are looking for a bit more privacy/comfort. When we stayed, there was no wifi/internet so you need to BYO phone data or otherwise embrace the digital detox.
It was very hot when we visited, while the AC did a good job of cooling the ground floor the upper level where you sleep took quite some time to cool down.
Some basics like a bit of oil, salt etc would be useful for visitors who plan to cook.
