- Lucrezia Anna (5/5): Definitely does not deserve the 9 it has on Booking.com - I liked the location, very close no nice restaurants and pubs This property absolutely does not deserve the 9 it currently has on Booking.com. Upon arrival, we found the apartment in very poor condition: it was dirty, with exposed electrical wires and open sockets (as shown in the photos attached) which is not safe at all, especially when traveling with a child. The place clearly needs a deep and thorough cleaning. The shower had yellow stains, the fridge was filthy, and the kitchenware and pans were dirty as well. Overall, the apartment felt old, neglected, and far below any acceptable hygiene standards. A property that truly deserves a high score should be clean, safe, and well-maintained — unfortunately, this one is not.

- Tim (10/5): Exceptional - Pretty much perfect. The location is right in the heart of Garbatella. Still close to the metro station and within an easy walk of restaurants and bars. The area was quiet over my stay. My host met me as arranged and showed me around the apartment. the apartment is spacious and well fitted out. My bed was comfortable. The kitchen had a good supply of crockery and cutlery and the washing machine was appreciated. Plenty of hot water, good quality bed linen and towels. The pillows were too soft for me but everything else was perfect.

A comfortable refuge from the thunderous downpours on one of o - Very comfortable, beautifully decorated apartment with everything we needed. Good kitchen and bathroom. Washing machine was useful. Very atmospheric area in Garbatella , with good and simple local restaurants, and in a location 10 mins walk from the Metro (trains take 15 mins to central Rome). Secure, with keys obtained from and returned to a key box, which was new since our previous visit. This was a return trip for us. We have not yet met the owner, but she is very responsive to any requests for advice, and very clear with communications. We couldn’t work out how to use the TV, which seemed stuck on one channel, but this did not matter for us! Probably our fault!! We only found one remote control, may have needed another one for the box.

- Lisa (8/5): Clean and interesting location - La Carlotta is in a very nice neighbourhood that is largely local families so you get a real feel for local life. It’s very easy walking distance to the metro from where it’s only 10 minutes to the major sights. The flat has everything you need to be comfortable for a few nights visit. There is no view from the flat as it’s ground floor so it’s not somewhere you can sit and relax but you are in Rome so there are plenty of bars or cafes for that.

Good location in an interestingly varied area, both socially and architecturally. A range of places to eat and drink locally, at very reasonable prices. Also a good supermarket up the road. Not far from the station, with regular and quick trains into Rome. Excellent cafes en route to it. Easy instructions (and a video!) about access. Nothing!

The location was convenient, and the communication with the host was excellent. They were very accommodating and responsive to our questions. We truly felt at home and would definitely consider staying here again in the future. Highly recommended
