• paul (10/5): Excellent budget choice a short walk to Historic centre. - Superb very clean comfortable bed and great ensuite. WIFI very fast. Location brilliant a short walk to the Historic centre but with a more local vibe so restaurants etc cheaper. A very warm welcome also provided a great breakfast at an excellent price. Excellent value and a great place to stay. I liked everything.

• Roberto (4/5): Overbooked - No pude ir porque habían sobre vendido el lugar y no tenían la habitación que había reservado via Booking.com . Me escribieron por WhatsApp para avisar y se negaron a responder por la vía formal de booking. Tuve que reservar en otro sitio, sin certeza de que no me iban a hacer ningún cargo, pues no quisieron cancelar pese a que no tenían la habitación disponible (supongo porque no querían que Booking los penalice)

The room is big enough and comfortable for short stays. Very good location, -take into account that Berat is a bit of a laberinth, but is easy to get the direction straight after the first day. Close walk to very good food places and atracttions. Would recommend!!

• Francesca (9/5): Perfect for 1/2 night near Berat - The room was newly renewed, clean and nice. It Is a bit small but perfect if you Just want tò sleep in it and visit nearby places during the day. It is a 10 Mins walk from Berat city center, perfect to avoid the traffic jam. It has a private parking spot. The hosts were extremely nice and accomodating.
• Emy (10/5): The best family-friendly house in Berat - Cosy and comfortable room, walking distance from the old town and in a quiet area. You will find different shops, restaurants and cafés nearby. Great family, very welcoming and helpful. If you are looking for a place to stay in Berat, I highly recommend you Vavla House If it's possible to add a towel rack in the bathroom, it would be perfect.

The husband showed us the way to a restaurant and remained there waiting for us to finish our meal, in order to make sure we didn't get lost. • Daniel (8/5): Berat is a lovely city and this is a good place to explore it from. - Location is good - not within the busy tourist centre of Berat, but in a peaceful neighbourhood about 5-10 minutes walk. All services are within a few minutes distance - ATM, coffee shop, pastry shop, minimarket, etc. The family who run the place are very nice. When I discovered I had been planning of outdated timetables for the buses, they organized a "furgon" for me - a shared private transport from Tirana to Berat (try "Miri Taxi Evi" - which I highly recommend as an alternative to the bus!). The family also live in the same house and were always keen to help (Thank you). Minor inconvenience to have been asked to switch rooms (from bigger to smaller) after first night. Smaller room really is only a bed and private bathroom. Not a lot of usable space outside of the rented room either. I never felt unsafe (rather the contrary), but the area around the house is not well lit at night.

• Julia (10/5): Warm welcome and great stay - It is a Homestay. It’s actually a small house where the family lives and they offer a few rooms for rent over booking. They are incredibly helpful and so so nice. The older couple - I suppose the host’s parents are so amazing and although they don’t speak English, they helped whenever they could. Due to all of the narrow streets around we were struggling to park our VW golf on the property, so the father drove in for us. Mama was great and always smiling. The host herself speaks English well and even gave us suggestions on where to go and what to eat. Loved it. So clean. Tap water is drinkable. Rooms are Beautiful and new. Only the way to get there is a bit of a struggle, but if you don’t make it to the property due to the narrow streets you could park at the mosque (stone tower) - 3 min walking distance. City center is 20 mins walking.
• Jorik (10/5): Great guesthouse close to city center - Probably the best guesthouse I had on this trip. Katerina was very kind and it was great to chat with her about just anything you wanted. She was very hospitable and immediately offered something to drink. In fact, the whole family was nice and welcoming. Location of the guesthouse is perfect. It is located in a quiet neighborhood but all of the city's main attractions are within walking distance. The room and guesthouse as a whole were so Cosy and nice to stay at. Everything was clean and I had no trouble catching sleep. What more is there to wish for? Pay attention upon arrival. The streets are narrow and at some point too narrow to pass through. Google maps turned out to be unreliable. I parked the car nearby, then walked around and found the guesthouse before proceeding to park the car at the guesthouse

But quickly resolved by telephoning the owner. 2) Only being picky here: Booking.com confirmation stated, " The double room's kitchen, which features a refrigerator + microwave, is available for cooking and storing food. The double room provides a washing machine, a terrace with mountain views as well as a private bathroom featuring a bath" None of these were offered so misleading to state so. BUT as I was only staying 1 night, for me it was perfect, I didn't necessarily need the above. However, someone else staying for longer may be disappointed. I'm sure, too, that had I needed anything (like the hot water for my flask - the owner's mother kindly obliged) asking on site wouldn't be a problem.

• Rachel (10/5): Loved staying here - The place was very clean, close to town but not in the crowded busy part of town. Mira & Miri were so kind! Comfortable large bed. The only improvement would be a number or name on the outside gate so that it's a little easier to find. Highly recommend.

Lots of room for clothes. The house was in a very quiet street. You will have fun finding this place. No address like many places in Albania. They could put a simple indication on the outside wall. It's a test to find the entrance! Located a bit of a walk from the attractions but I love walking so for me not a problem. In the room, no reading light, just overhead light. Bathroom wasn't quite finished, without a mirror. But great shower and all super clean. The overall feel is actually very good.

• Adrian (9/5): Superb - Very Friendly hosts, Google translate bridges any language barriers. No problem to store luggage for a bit. Everything in walking distance. Local bus stops in front of flower store/mosque.(direction to bus station is 10m further down, the sign is hidden in a tree)
• Anjara (6/5): Pleasant - The house was noisy with people loudly opening and closing doors and talking till late at night. It was also very difficult to find as there is no sign or even a door number outside the property.
• Benoit (9/5): Superb - The quality of the bed, the bathroom is exceptional ! You will sleep in the house on an Albanian couple, very friendly and helpful. Remark: Don’t mind the looks of the neighbourhood, you are not in a touristic area but, it is very quiet and safe with a lot of families. And 15min away from old town.
