• Gxr Traveller (6/5): Once a Great Hotel, Now Neglected by Management - The staff are the best part of this hotel. They are friendly, energetic, smiling and always willing to help. Their service and attention really stand out, and they try their best with what they have. Shuttle to and From the Airport. I booked this hotel because the beautiful pictures. Unfortunately, when you arrive, it’s a very different story. The hotel itself is old and tired. The pictures on Booking.com are from many years ago and do not show the current condition of the facility and furniture. Nothing has been updated, everything has aged beyond its useful life. The restaurant feels old and the food is dry. The TVs are old, not smart TVs. The beds and mattresses are uncomfortable. The facilities look nothing like the photos online. The worst part was the air quality in the room. There is no air‑conditioning, and at night, a strong diesel smell came through the door cracks. I couldn’t sleep and had to block the door with a blanket. When we opened the windows, the noise pollution outside was loud the whole night. This hotel was once great, but management has neglected it. The staff are doing their best, but the building and facilities need serious upgrades.

Shops and restaurants close by. The hot water went off when I arrived so I couldn't have a hot shower. But the next day when I could it was glorious.

• محمد بكري (10/5): شكراً لجميع طاقم فندق سابون ، وشكراً سكان أديس أبابا . - الفندق نظيف والغرف واسعة ومريحة ، ودورات المياه ايضاً نظيفة ومريحة ، والأثاث مريح وكل ما فيه كان رائعاً . ابتدا من انتظار السائق لي في المطار ومن ثم سهولة تسجيل الوصول وتغيير الغرفة في اليوم التالي ، إلى شقة تنفيدية ( غرفة وصالة ) ، علماً أن الغرفة التي حجزنها كانت واسعة ومريحة ، عدا جانب النوافذ الكبيرة ، وتعاون موظفا الاستقبال السيد( بنيامي ) والسيدة ( تسيور ) وباقي الطاقم لا أذكر اسمائهم ، وكذلك السيدة السوبر فايزر صاحبة الابتسامة العريضة والكلمة الطيبة ، وشيف المطعم البشوشة ( لوميات ) وأطباقها اللذيذة، ومشرف المطعم ، وحراس الأمن، فالفندق آمن جداً جداً. الموقع في سيتي سنتر المليء بالمولات والمقاهي وأغلب الخدمات فيه ، وعموماً كل شئ كان رائعاً . ولهم مني كل الشكر والتقدير . لا شيء

We appreciated that the extra bed we requested for our child was already in the room upon arrival, and it was a good, extra-large size. The complimentary airport shuttle was a huge convenience. The hotel's strategic location was also a major plus, being close to numerous restaurants and cafes, and having two ATM machines right outside was incredibly handy. Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. However, there were a few areas for improvement. The Wi-Fi was unreliable and very slow, often not working properly. Thankfully, we had purchased local SIM cards, so this wasn't a major issue for us. A more significant concern was the bathroom, where water leaked from the shower area, making the floor wet and very slippery. Lastly, the bed was not very comfortable and felt quite soft, causing us to sink in, which suggests it could benefit from an upgrade.

It’s very close to shops, bars, restaurants, etc. Not every room has an A/C. This could be an issue during the summer. However, I spoke the front desk and they were able to provide me an A/C room when I requested it.

I have been traveling to Ethiopia 14 time a over 16 years and have been staying in multiple hotels including Golden Tulip; except for its location and Not So Great breakfast, Sabon exceeds every expectation and it is a place for a traveler who needs a quiet time to rejuvenate and clean space for your soul. A reliable and high-speed internet connection, characterized by exceptional cleanliness, tranquility, and unwavering friendliness.

Used room service once and food was good and in a timely manner. Breakfast buffet has everything what’s needed. Windows in the shower need cleaning.

• Karina (8/5): Very good - The location is very good, 5 min drive from the airport, 5 min walk to the 2000 Habesha Cultural Restaurant. The staff was very helpfull and friendly. The manager organized for us a car with a driver at a reasonable price to take us around the city for a whole day. We took the apartment, but the kitchen was not equipped at all: there was no plates, cutlery, glasses.
• Chris (10/5): Would definately stay again - A great place to stay. Free airport pick up weas there when I arrived. Room was spacious, clean , comfortable and quiet. Receptionist was charming and helpful. Security staff even showed me where I could find a local sports bar! Breakfast wasn't fully ready at the opening time (6am)
• Eulalee (10/5): EXCELLENT HOTEL TO STAY - The room space is spacious, spotless, and quite cozy. The hotel is situated in the downtown and is close to pharmacies and grocery stores. Restaurants, nightclubs, etc. are all within walking distance. The hotel's restaurant is outstanding, and breakfast is included in the price of your stay. It's delicious and offers a wide selection of dishes. Additionally, the hotel offers complimentary airport transportation. Above all, though, the staff is incredibly kind and helpful. I had planned to stay for three nights but extended my stay to eight nights. One of the greatest hotels I have ever stayed at in my many years of traveling is Sabon Hotel, and I will most certainly stay there again when I return to Addis Ababa.
