- Peita (1/5): Turned up to a full construction site with no heads up and still charged full price. - The inside of the house was clean and the layout was great for our family. A missed call by the property manager when we were 1 hour away, no message left. I called back immediately and was told they had no idea why I was called. Then arrived with no warning to find the property was a full construction site and completely false advertised, but still charged the full price! We were woken by excavators next to the bedroom window at 7am every morning. The main bathroom we were told not to use as the plumbing was being redone. There was zero backyard and it was fully excavated for an extension the owner was midway through doing. The front door was fenced off and all the front yard was a building site with form work everywhere. The only entry was through the garage door. Only the AC in the bedroom worked and the house was like a sauna because we couldn't open the doors due to the construction dirt flying everywhere. The hot water was turned off by the trades people so we had no hot water for the first full day. To top it off, the properties neighbour cornered us in the garage and abused my family about the construction noise disturbing her. When I called the property managers at Holidays Coffs Coast, where the woman proceeded to tell me they tried calling me to tell me the owner was doing some "maintenace" and it was meant to be finished by now and then continued to talk over the top of me while I expressed my outrage at the condition we arrived at with no warning. We were in Coffs Harbour for a competition so accommodation was scarce. I am thankful that we at least had somewhere to stay, because if they cancelled on me, we would have been struck. Holidays Coffs Coast did offer another accommodation, however it was too far away and we needed to be in Coffs Harbour for a reason. All that was needed was some warning ahead of time of what we were driving 6 hours to turn up to, and charging full price for what was provided is outrageous!!
