- carole (9/5): -
- Feline (10/5): - Really nice people and great location!
- Candice (10/5): - Tres bel hôtel, magnifique vue, personnel accueillant, silencieux et confortable
- alex (10/5): Exceeded expectations for stay - The team were fantastic, very responsive on whatsapp. The tours are cheaper than get your guide/klook. The views of the Nile were stunning. When I return to Aswan I will be using them again.
Airport transfer is very reasonably priced - really enjoyed our time here. N/A
- LavenderYiu (10/5): -
- Andre (9/5): - Owner was very kind. Came in early and checked me in earlier and gave me breakfast even if it shouldnt have been included on the 1st day. He also let me check out alot later on my last day without any fee or anything.
- Ihsane Karimi (10/5): - Super endroit Mr TAlaat'' était la' pour répondre a'tous nos besoin Ras
- Patricia (10/5): Perfect! - Our time in Queen House was one of the best during our trip on Egypt. The house is located in Elephantine Island, which is much calm and quiet, and you can feel the true essence being there instead of Aswan mainland. The owner, Mr. Talaat was very helpful, friendly and a good communicator. He arranged the tours to Abu Simbel and to the nubian Village so we didn't need to worry about it. I totally recommend staying here during your time in Aswan which makes your experience much better.
- Claire (8/5): - Terasse avec vue magnifique. Calme Taille des chambres côté cour
- Mark (9/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Definitely will visit again - The location in front of the Nile is amazing,
The place is very warm, staff are very friendly and helpful, very clean, the facilities are so helpful, very welcoming, very well communicated..
Nichts
- Jurriën (10/5): - Very friendly owner and great location!
- Pravee (10/5): Wonderful stay in Aswan, I’ve already left a part of my heart there. - A very friendly, family-run place with warm hospitality. They kindly provided us with a late checkout and gave us great tips and recommendations for exploring Aswan. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a welcoming and comfortable stay.
- Ng (10/5): -
- Nuşin (10/5): very safe and clean with welcoming staff. I recommend - very nice and calm place. I highly recommend to solo travellers. we were two women travelling and we loved the experience. our host picked us up, and walked us through elephantine, and explained us about the region very well.
- Joan (9/5): - The room was comfortable and clean and the breakfast was very good. There is the most stunning view of the Nile from the balcony.
This is definitely the best side of the island to stay for the views and tranquillity.
Talaat was very helpful and relaxed. We had a great couple of days on the island. It is only a short walk from the pier to get back over into Aswan when you need to.
- Insa (8/5): -
- Michele (5/5): For where and what it was it was ok. Now that I have seen other Nubian style guesthouses would be more selective in choi - Colourful Nubian style house. Rustic. Tiny balcony despite photo with great view of Nile and Agha Khan mausoleum. Breakfast looked ok but decided on fruit as caught a stomach complaint most likely from the kofta meatballs from restaurant below. The owner coordinated our ferry transport to and from the island and a trip to a Nubian village and Abu Simbel. Being on the Nile is quite magical regardless of accommodation Thin rugs are trip hazard on tiled floor. Bathroom is very tiny. No real shower area so it’s between toilet and washbasin. Air condition unit very noisy.
- Noémi (10/5): Beautiful panorama, very kind hosts - The location is very nice, the hosts are wonderful hosts. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the room was clean, with a comfortable bed. The view from the balcony is amazing, it is very pleasant to sit out and admire the scenery. Mr. Talaat helped organize the programs, transfer from Luxor, Abu Simbel trip, visit to Philea temple, boat program and airport transfer. He was correct, punctual, reliable in everything. Thank you for your hospitality! There was no such thing.
- Antonio (10/5): -
- Ria (9/5): - The location, very nice terrace
- Robert (8/5): - Talaat was a great host who explained how the island was different from the rest of Aswan as
it was Nubian .
Loved the ferry ride to and from Elephantine Island. EGP 15 each way.
- Elisabeth (2/5): Rubbish environment left and right. The KUSH restaurant a dump. - Nothing, maybe a sunset if that is one's priority Getting there from the ferry too far.
- Steiml (7/5): -
- Andreas (9/5): - The island is one of a kind, another welcoming face of Egypt. The family taking care of the Queen’s house take good care with their additional services. Picking you up from the airport & arranging day trips for very reasonable prices.
- Patrick (10/5): Beautiful place and helpful owner - The owner - Talaat- is helpful and knowledgeable. He booked various trips for us and all were great and good value. The location is fantastic. It has beautiful views and is in a peaceful and quiet place. Breakfast was good. It was good value. I really recommend staying on Elephantine island and choosing Queen House.
- Marine (9/5): Un des plus jolis hotels à Aswan, et calme ! - Sa position , les chambres sont vastes , bien équipées , le décor est joil, et sa terrasse bien agréable ! Le prix est un peu élevé .. et le personnel pas toujours sur les lieux pour avoir des renseignements.;
- Sundaresan (10/5): -
- Dana (8/5): In short our stay was an unforgettable experience. We will be back!!! So much love for Aswan🥰🥰 - The property is so peaceful and serene. It’s absolutely beautiful. When I tell you Talaat is your go to man. He is your go to man. He was absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately one of my friends got sick on the trip, but Talaat had a doctor there within 30 minutes treated my friend and left her prescriptions all for $150. When it came to tours, transportation and whatever we needed, Talaat was on it like wet on water…He is truly amazing. He arranged our transportation to/from Luxor and all of our tours in Luxor. The staff was also very helpful. Mishmish and Talaat’s neighbor were extremely helpful and courteous. The restaurant next-door has amazing food and the cook was exceptional. Speaking of cooks the breakfast that’s included every day was out of this world. Everything was handmade and absolutely delicious!!! Nubian Village is a MUST SEE and Aswan is truly UNFORGETTABLE. If you need a peaceful getaway reasonably priced, I suggest Queens House on the Nile river w Talaat and his staff. There was a lot of construction and noise. When you’re on vacation, you don’t wanna hear all that noise. If the host is going to have something like that going on, he needs to warn the guest or halt construction until after the guest leave.
I also suggest getting all the prices for tours, fairy rides etc agreed-upon upfront.
Another side note is know that Talaat and his family/staff stay at the house also. There are also ppl in and out through the day working.
- Ahmed (10/5): - The staff are very welcoming and the location is unique with beautiful Nile view.
And the breakfast was amazing with the Nile view.
Also the staff can help visiting attraction locations like temples and villages.
- Paul (10/5): -
- anónimo (10/5): - Hotel is really nice, beautiful, peaceful and the views from the rooftop are amazing.
The owner made my trip a lot easier as he was really helpful to arrange trips to luxor and Abu simbel
- Eric (5/5): Peu mieux faire - Exotisme
Disponibilité du gérant La propreté des communs
- ALEJANDRA (6/5): Basic hostel - Owner is very Kind and helpful and the hostel is cheap. There was no water from the shower between 17:00 and 19:00. Room is small and the mattresses were broken. Toilet is small too.
- Manon (10/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): Perfect place to relax and visit Aswan and surroundings - Very nice house on the Elephantine Island in Aswan. The view from the rooftop is great at sunset and sunrise time as it faces the dunes on the other side of the river.
The staff was exceptional too, being super gentle and welcoming. Totally recommended place if you want to relax and visit Aswan and surrounding :)
- Nusrat (9/5): Dream trip to Aga khan moselum Aswan - Excellent location
Exceptional host Talat. Gone out of the way to make sure our requests are catered . Thank you so much to look after myself and my daughter. Kitchen utensils could have been improved
- Yaghvali (8/5): Very good -
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Talaat, the owner, was a great guy. Met me at the ferry crossing ahead of my arrival and took me to the guest house. Very hospitable owner and staff. Great location, very quiet and the room came with a small terrace with a scenic view of the Nile. nothing !
- Jane (9/5): Superb - Breakfast on the roof terrace was wonderful. We had a room with a balcony which looked out over the river. The manager was so helpful and organised tours and transfers for us.
- Martyn (8/5): Excellent view, good value for money - I chose this hotel because of its location right on bank of the Nile looking across to the desert and Agha Khan's mausoleum on the west bank. We paid extra for a balcony but you get the same view from the rooftop terrace. A great spot to watch the sun set and nice light at dawn. The balcony was shady in the morning but no shade in the afternoon, though the rooftop terrace does have shade. Free transfer to/from the hotel on arrival and departure by private boat was provided. There is a little restaurant just in front of the hotel, though we didn't use it, preferring to walk to the licensed Bob Marley restaurant. We booked return transport to Aswan airport (to fly to Abu Simbel), to Philae Temple (including the boat) and Unfinished Obelisk, and transfer to Luxor by car through the hotel in advance which was convenient. Payment for room and trips requested in USD so I took enough USD to pay for all this. Breakfast was small but adequate (omelette, falafel, tomato, cucumber, soft cheese, jam, bread, tea/coffee) and served on the rooftop terrace or balcony. Room was small but clean. En suite was basic but clean and perfectly adequate. Overall: great location and good value for money. I recommend staying on Elephantine Island at Aswan as you are staying in a genuine Nubian village. It's a different world to the hustle and bustle of the east bank of Aswan: mud brick houses painted in the colourful Nubian style, women in traditional dress chatting, and children playing, in front of their houses in the evening, no traffic, no one hassles you. The locals either ignore you or just say "hello" or "welcome." The short ferry ride is only 10EGP (about 15p). Women sit in the front of the ferry, men at the back. I only book rooms that have a kettle and fridge as we like to make our own tea and coffee. The kettle and fridge mentioned in the listing aren't in the room, they're in a small shared kitchenette in the hall. So it was a bit awkward making a drink when someone else was using the kitchenette (and someone used our milk). The kitchenette was a bit grubby with flies and this is where they cook your breakfast.
- Dushyanth (9/5): Stay in Elephantine island - Excellent location, friendly host, value for money Small washroom but functional
- Abdulhadi (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great.
- Elva (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay! The place was clean, colorful, and had vibrant, positive energy. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, even if not everyone spoke English—they all did their best to assist us. The host speaks English and helps to arrange activities at fair prices. Such a unique place to stay, thank you for having us!
- Nic_sg (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (8/5): Met all my needs, just fine - Talaat - I believe the owner, was very accommodating and helpful
The property and breakfast were just fine - what you’d expect for the price point Nothing
- Cwalt1600 (9/5): Great stay! - The owner was very communicative. He had his private boat waiting to shuttle us to Elephantine Island and the guest house. His staff were very friendly. They woke up to make us breakfast to go at 4 am for our Abu Simbel trip (which they arranged). The guest house overlooks a beautiful, quiet branch of the Nile, with a nice rooftop terrace. There are several good places to eat and stores in easy walking distance. Full use of a small kitchen for those who want to cook for themselves or just make coffee. The room was clean and cozy. Upon departure our flight got bumped up on short notice, and the owner got us there for a very reasonable fee given the circumstances. Wish we could've stayed longer!
- Yimin (9/5): Good value for stay one night. - Good location at Elephant island. Free transportation from the Ferries to hostel. The most perfect was richness breakfast. Delicious Omelette with onions and coffee with milk. It was 10 mins walking to Ferry we had to Walk to the end . Not any restaurant and facilities nearby the hostel.
- Jared (10/5): Good Value Stay - The views from the house are incredible, and Breakfast was also excellent. I didn't feel pressured to book tours during my stay. ~10 min walk to the north side of the island where there are more dining options. -
- Anna (7/5): Amazing view and great taste of elephantine island! - The location was amazing right in front of the Nile with wonderful terrace. The breakfast was always changing and freshly cooked for us at the time we wanted. The staff was really friendly and helped us during the stay. The room was not too clean, good for the price we paid but dusty and the blankets were not too clean. Every morning the main common space right outside of our room was very loud (phone ringings, loud talks) starting at 8 in the morning, so was really impossible to sleep in. The shower situation was also hard, the shower kept leaking and the toilet was really too small.
- Bartłomiej (7/5): Good - Great view of the Nile, helpful staff, helped us with arrival and departure, great breakfasts with the view on the rooftop A bit small rooms, but the worst thing was the noise from the neighbours the whole night, we hardly slept (although owner moved us to another room for next night). It is also loud when people sit and talk at night in the common area.
- Zoe (10/5): Excellent - The owner is very nice, he came to pick us up and gave us many useful advices. He can help you if you want to visit the temples and Abu Simbel. The room is nice, and the view from the roof top is very appreciable.
- Max (10/5): Quiet and traditional guest house with amazing views. - Really loved staying here! I would suggest it’s the best place to stay on Elephantine Island and thus the best place to stay in Aswan. Lovely views, very kind people. A simple life and very confortable. And the restaurant out the front is great! Nothing
- Ernesto (9/5): Relaxing quiet stay by the Nile - We stayed a couple of nights here. The hotel is beautifully decorated in traditional Nubian style. The host is very attentive - he will remember the check in date you put in the booking and wait for you in Aswan with his boat! He even reached out to us by whatsapp to confirm pick up time. Nubian breakfast included with eggs. The place is safe, quiet and has great views over the Nile.
- Avae (8/5): Very good -
- Shoukry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hisashi (10/5): Excellent stay - The owner was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. When we told him we were vegans, he served us a breakfast without eggs and dairy products, so we had a very good meal in the morning. Elephantine Island was very quiet and safe, and the view from the rooftop was very relaxing. We really liked this place and would definitely come back to Elephantine Island and stay at this guesthouse again. Nothing
