Guest Reviews
- Roger (10/5): A gem in Hermigua - Second time staying here, great location, peaceful, private, with awesome views of the Hermigua valley and the ocean in the distance. Parking can be tight. Nearby roosters crowing late night and early morning.
- Zuzana (9/5): Stunning location and beautiful home - we will be back!! - We loved the house- we felt at home , the terrace had stunning views, the house had everything we needed and the location is great (hermigua is beautiful and we could’ve stayed so much longer, near to lots of hikes & there are good places to eat - el faro was our fave) Bring ear plugs because the cockerels go all night. It can get a little cold at night so a small heater would be an appreciated touch ( so pack some warm things!).
- Pasi (9/5): Hermigua; hienoja maisemia ja haastavia polkuja! - Sijainti upea.
Vakiovieraina terassilla olivat kissat. Tammikuussa viieää koska talossa ei ole lämmitystä. Mukaan lämmintä vaatetta!
Auton parkkeeraus haastavaa; paikka autolle löytyi reilun sadan metrin päästä talolta.
- Christopher (8/5): - Gorgeous views from the terrace, large bedroom, very warm and comfy bed which we appreciated as it was cooler weather during our stay! Others have already said it, but it's worth keeping in mind that there are steep, slippery steps to the property and parking is difficult. The recommended parking spots are not somewhere I felt leaving a hire car without risk of it getting knocked. There is ample parking on a dirt track a couple of minutes' walk up a steep hill.
A little frustrating that there was no corkscrew and the only response from the host was that there should be one somewhere. Still there were plenty of condiments that could be used for cooking.
- Yann (7/5): Full of character but needs some small improvement to make it more cosy - Typical architecture, good location, full of character, good kitchen Quite cold and drafty, lighting quite harsh in the kitchen and missing in the bathroom. 5 dirty cat bowls laying around outside, garden needs some maintenance
- Andrea (10/5): Charming cottage in the green hills of Hermingua offering a spectacular view to the sea. - The charming cottage Casa Panama is located at Las Nuevitas in Hermigua and can be also reached on foot from the centre of Hermigua which makes it very convenient to do the shopping by foot. The property is not only well located but also extremely well equipped with about anything you need in your holiday location coming by plane: the kitchen is well equiped and included some basic non-perishible food, such as pasta, rice and tea bags and even a bottle of red wine (a big thank you to our host).
In the bathroom, there were more than enough towels and also toileteries, including a hair dryer. We even discovered a sowing (clothes repair) kit. And, it is very convenient that there is a washing machine, including some washing powder so no need to take you clothes to the laundry.
The terrace offers a spectaculous view over the valley until the sea and includes a stone grill, a sitting corner and deck chairs.
Last but not least, this location is perfect for an active vacation, such as hiking, as it is close to the National Park Garajonay, and a beautiful coast line nearby. The only point of improvement would be the bathroom that could do with a window/opening to the outside rather than to the kitchen/living room. Being on vacation, we found this a minor drawback as the property is lovely and has so many facilities.
- Roger (10/5): Lovely week in Hermigua - Amazing location overlooking the valley, great little house perfect for a couple. Unless you have mobility issues or are completely out of shape it’s an easy walk down to the grocery store or to some of the local restaurants. The cats are entertaining. Easy drive to a bunch of hikes in Garajonay. Already thinking of returning in the summer! Hot water in the shower runs out very quick. Didn’t realize there was an extra bathroom in the small building outside until I read the reviews of others on the last night of our stay. Dogs barking and roosters crowing could be annoying at night and in the early morning. A few mosquitoes snuck in the house. All of these are very very minor negatives, overall it was excellent!
- Oswaldo (7/5): Good - The view was amazing. There were no matches to light the stove. Luckily, the supermarket was still open, and we were able to purchase some. Also, only one towel each for 11 days....had to add them to a load and wait until the next day for them to dry.
- Volodymyr (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place to stay, would love to come back again one day!
- Rita (8/5): All in all a pleasant little house with a wonderful terrace and panorama. - The best in this house are its deep and long, partly shaded terrace offering a fantastic view of Hermigua itself; the valley and the sea in the distance; and the access to the terraced orchard belonging to the property and a secluded sunbathing area with an external shower. The house itself really is one big room subdivided in bedroom (no door), living room with open plan kitchen and small bathroom. The small utility room in the courtyard is very convenient as it has a washing machine and additional toilet. The person managing the property for the owner is extremely helpful and professional, and went out of his way to help us with a forgotten item. Thank you Stefan! The access to the property is difficult (down quite a few very uneven steps) and the parking can be tricky. Also, we were surprised to discover that the bathroom is not really separated from the kitchen/living room (there is a door, but the walls do not go all the way up to the ceiling and this was not visible in the photos provided).
- Reedijk (8/5): A very nice quiet place for hikers and people who seek silence. - The house has a large terrace with afternoon sun. Lots of privacy and an unobstructed view into the valley and to the sea. A stepped garden with palms and mango trees, a beautiful albizia as a sunshade. Very nice visits from lovely cats, they ask for cat food and pets. Simple but nice interior. You can make beautiful walks directly from the house, for example to Playa de Caleta. Don't forget to take a walk through the banana plantation. The road to the house is narrow and steep in places, but this is not a problem for an experienced driver. You can park in the hairpin bend against the center wall or a little further away at the top of the road.
- Julian (10/5): Exceptional - It's the perfect place for a relaxing vacation in La Gomera. The casa feels newly renovated, spacious and surrounded by nature with a gorgeous view of the farm terraces. It's a quiet place and we don't hear neighbors, as we're just surrounded by trees.
The balcony was our favorite place especially to have breakfast. It was also very well equipped and we had everything we needed for 10 nights. The bed was comfortable, there was more than one table for working. If you are fit, you can even walk/climb down to the groceries and few restaurants. There's always space for parking too near the casa.
We loved the cats the visit us and gave us company, they know not to get inside the house but love treats. We occasionally get some goats passing by. It was a wonderful experience!
- Oliwia (10/5): Exceptional - Appartment is very well equipped and designed. The tarrace is huge with a great view! There are also kittens visiting the place which we consider a nice addition :)
Ah, and the bathroom is lovely! It wasn't a problem for us, however, there are no doors between the bedroom and the living room. If staying for longer with someone sleeping on a couch in a living room, that could be a bit inconvenient
