- Afanasjeva (8/5): -
- Kerry (9/5): - Great location. Such helpful staff. 800 year old building - feel the history!
- Jan (10/5): Maybe a little more shabby than chic but more than made up for it with it’s great location, super helpful staff and bein - The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable - always there with a smile and willing to help. Really good value as it’s in a great location within walking distance to major sites and a tram stop. However, probs not for anyone with mobility problems as roads quite hilly and uneven. Wear comfy shoes! Room was clean and tidy with a comfy bed and all the basics. Little roof terrace with a great view. This is not a faceless corporate hotel; it’s a beautiful old building positioned in a fairly run down area with little local shops and people going about their daily lives alongside a scattering of other small hotels. Feels very safe to wander the windy streets and sit and enjoy a Turkish coffee or tea and watch the world go by. Honestly, for the money it should not be faulted. But maybe some Turkish coffee in the morning 🤣 .

Dachterrasse. Das Bett war nicht stabil genug. Staub.
- Annamária (9/5): Jó volt legközelebb is őket választom - A reggeli választékos jó volt max a meleg étel lehetett volna melegebb.Tiszta szoba.aszemélyzet kitünő szuper felvilágosítást kaptunk.Ajánlani tudom
- Amonboev (10/5): - Staff, location, view. Everything was good.

- Elvira (10/5): Excellent. - The Gedikpasa Konagi Hotel, located near Bayazid Square and a tram station, is situated on Gedikpasa Street with many restaurants. The hotel, set in a 200-year-old historical building, offers nice rooms but no elevator, making it challenging for those with knee issues due to the steep stairs. It is also located on a slope, so you need to go up and down the hill every day. They also have a rooftop terrace that provides sea views for sunrise and sunset enjoyment, and can be used throughout the day.
The breakfast provided was exceptional, featuring a buffet with a wide selection of both savoury and sweet options. The offerings primarily included traditional Turkish breakfast items, such as eggs, salami, mozzarella and feta cheese, three to four varieties of olives, steamed broccoli, fried peppers (both red and green), an assortment of fresh and pickled salads, and more. For those who prefer a sweeter breakfast, options include yoghurt with granola, biscuits, and cake, or bread with jam and honey. A plentiful selection of fruits was also available daily, including apples, oranges, plums, watermelon, and green melon.
While instant coffee was served at breakfast, the tea offered was a high-quality Turkish blend. Complimentary tea bags and instant coffee were available at the reception for use in your room, which was equipped with a kettle, two ceramic cups, and two glass cups.
The staff was very accommodating. The room was clean, with daily cleaning, towel changes every two days, and bedding changes every three days. They also have a safe (vault) in the room, which is very useful. The WI-FI is free and quite fast. Additionally, on two rainy days, we were able to borrow umbrellas from the hotel at no extra charge.
The check-in and check-out were hassle-free. Nothing.
- Danish (10/5): Absolutely amazing experience. - Great location, staff was amazing always there when you need them and could not be happier with the service great value for the money spent. Nothing!
- Emilia (10/5): Would definitely recommend staying there! - Everyone is super friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. It’s located in a great area, all the sightseeing spots are just a small walk away. But the rooftop terrace was definitely the highlight. Must be one of the nicest one in Istanbul for sure!
- Maxim (9/5): Goed -
- Liana Maria (10/5): -
- Haithem (9/5): Definitely a great choice - We appreciated the friendly , helpful, professional and welcoming personnel.
The establishment was very clean, comfortable, calm and cozy. The breakfast buffet was tasty and accommodating for all tastes .
The cleanliness of the rooms was perfect and maintained throughout the stay. Bonus points for the fantastic terrace with sea view. The road incline between the hotel and nearby tramway station is somewhat hard.

- Mackirks (9/5): Wonderful trip to Instanbul, helped by the friendly staff at our hotel. - Great breakfast , wonderful helpful staff , good location I loved the old world charm of the hotel but some folks might find it dated ..
- Stavarache (10/5): - Stafful foarte prietenos,zona linistita,mic dejun bogat,pret foarte bun,totul excelent💕
- Liudmyla (8/5): -
- Jarred (8/5): Lovely hotel with all the required amenities needed - Central location, easy to walk everywhere. The hotel staff were brilliant and really helpful especially when we had prebooked some activities; they helped communicate with vendors and ensured we arrived on time. Breakfast was nice. The rooftop terrace was a lovely place to go and enjoy the views of Istanbul. Some of the hot food at breakfast was a little cold or oily.
- Arif (5/5): - The location, all the attractions were within walking distance, restaurants were everywhere, in fact Gedikpasa is known as the 'street food' and tramline was at the beginning of the street. The hotel was on a steep gradient so going uphill was a struggle for people like us who are in their 50s and 60s. Also no lift at the hotel. We stayed on the 2nd floor . My wife had mobility issues but there was no concern for accessibility issues. Breakfast was at the basement which meant a 4 floor hike on spiral staircase. Breakfast was also below standard and nothing felt fresh. We expected a 2 or 3 star service but it was even below that.
- Irina (10/5): -
- Nyoube (10/5): Exceptional - An unforgettable stay!
We had an unforgettable experience at this hotel. The location is simply perfect .just a few minutes' walk from iconic landmarks like Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar (7 minutes), as well as the metro station (5 minutes). Perfect for exploring Istanbul on foot!
The room was spotless, with a very comfortable bed, a well-equipped shower, working air conditioning, and a soothing view from the window. Daily housekeeping, towels in the rooms changes every two days, and plenty of thoughtful amenities: a kettle, tea cups, spoons, glasses, chairs, and a small dining table.
Breakfast was truly a delight ; varied, healthy, and full of new culinary surprises each day. The hotel’s antique-style restaurant offers a warm and inviting vibe, and the terrace on the rooftop provides a magnificent view.
A special thank you to the attentive, welcoming, and helpful staff , they even assisted us with our heavy luggage upon arrival and departure.
I highly recommend this hotel for its location, spotless cleanliness, quality of service and breakfast, and the kindness and helpfulness of the staff.
I would definitely come back again! Nothing to complain about ,everything was perfect 😊 😊
- Maya (10/5): Exceptional - I had a wonderful stay at this warm and welcoming hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable, even assisting us with our heavy luggage, which was a huge relief after a long journey.
The location is perfect — conveniently close to the tram line, which provides quick and easy access to the main cultural center in just 5 to 10 minutes. It’s ideal for exploring the city without any hassle.
The hotel itself was spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained. The atmosphere was peaceful, cozy, and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax after a day of sightseeing. Every detail was thoughtfully arranged, and it truly felt like a home away from home.
One of the highlights was the lovely terrace, where you could admire a stunning view of the Bosphorus.
I would happily return and highly recommend this lovely place to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient, and well-cared-for stay!
- Ramli (6/5): Pleasant - Walking distance to tourist spot Terrace dirty and small.. The view terrible
- Abdulmomin (8/5): Good place and excellent service and amazing staff - The staff were really amazing and helpful. Breakfast was really good for the money you paid. All in all it was a good place to stay in and would recommend it to anyone Wi-Fi needs to be a little better
- Elnara (4/5): Disappointing - The location and staff are the best things about this hotel. I really adore the attitude of hotel administrators, they really help a lot, very friendly and client oriented. The location is very close to the main touristic sights, though very crowdy. The hotel needs renovation: the furniture, laundry are so old and dirty. The hotelis not adopted for families with kids, there is no elevator/lift. Baby bed was so old and dirty so we could not use it.
- Koriyleila (10/5): A gem in the middle of Istambul - Everything but the best part without a Shadow of a doubt: THE STAFF! They are very friendly always willing to help you and give you any tips about the city. The hotel is lovely too with a lot of character. To say something ( minor issue) to have a bedside lamp to be able to read while the kid is already sleeping.
- Sarah (10/5): A warm welcome in a perfect location - I had such a wonderful time staying here! The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly and made me feel so welcome. They helped with a lot of logistical things so I could just focus on enjoying the experience. The location is great--just a 10-15 min walk from the Hagia Sophia and other popular destinations in the area, but the hotel is tucked away enough to be peaceful and quiet. In the hustle and bustle of Istanbul, it helped to have a little oasis away from the chaos when needed--there is a lovely rooftop terrace to relax on. Breakfast has a whole range of delicious options, in a really cool old room from (I think) the Byzantine era. I would definitely stay again! This isn't a negative per se, just a heads up for anyone with limited mobility--the hotel is located on a pretty steep hill. That said, most of Istanbul is pretty hilly. However, directly up the hill is the metro line--I didn't use it myself, but it's a good option if you have trouble walking or want to go somewhere further away.
- Marc (10/5): Amazing hotel and location will stay again. - Property is in a great location surrounded by good food options and about a five minute walk away from the grand bazaar and metro station. The host were extremely kind and friendly, continually offering advice and suggestions of the local area and assisting any way they can. The hotel street is very well lit and restaurants were open to 1am every night. The terrace has an amazing view of the ocean and local mosque. Only thing to note is the metro is uphill of the hotel, if you are not able to walk or climb inclines it will effect your stay.
- Panayiota (9/5): Superb -
- Ramune (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice place. All objects you can reach on foot in 8-15 minutes. Breakfast is excellent. Nice view from the roof terrase. Comfortable beds. Highly recommend!!!!!!
- Juhari (9/5): Excellent staff and location - Very warm welcome by all staff they all speaks very good english, breakfast was rich and tasty, the foods sell near hotel was cheap and variety. The staff even help us buys luggage bags and carry them to the hotel.
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Jamil (9/5): 5 nights Gedikpasa Konagi - Breakfast meal buffet was nice ambience was good eating in the cellar historical architecture on show..
The staff was very helpful. Helping with all aspects of stay. Due to historical building sound insulation in bedroom not great but it added to the charm.
- Farooq (7/5): Good - service breakfast was not fresh
- Mykyta (10/5): Like and recommend! - Very nice place. Center is near this hotel. Staff is very kind and positive. Everything was fine. Maybe it’s better to repair some furniture, but this is wasn’t uncomfortable.
- Valmira (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect
- Maria (10/5): Nice hotel - Nice breakfast Nothing
- Mihai (9/5): Very good option - Very good value for money! Excellent location, close to all major attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good Breakfast. Large rooms, heating and air conditioning working. Very good price(end of November) Room furniture and shower faucet are not in the best condition, but more than acceptable. I stayed in much worse hotel rooms for bigger prices in Western Europe.
Also, you can hear noice from the hallway, but again, met this problem in many, many other hotels.
- Fanis (9/5): Superb -
- Mohamed (5/5): It's hard to stay in a hotel without elevator, narrow circular staircase and 60D outside slope - the room is clean
the breakfast is good like and drink as well
it was quite
the staff do their best to help us The entrance staircase is very narrow and there is a plant that hides the staircase and makes it difficult to get upstairs
There is no elevator and the stairs inside are circular and it was very difficult for me to get to the top floor as I am 59 years old and have a problem with my knees and the manager refused to return my money as the reservation is non-refundable which made me upset but we completed the reservation and will not be coming back again
Also the restaurant is in the basement without a window and the air conditioning is not working
- Max (9/5): Superb - Service very friendly which is very nice! Location is super great!! Cost is good too. No.
- Dr (7/5): Good -
- Robert (10/5): Muro is consummate HOST, friendly staff, clean accommodations, great location, big breakfast buffet! - The hotel is more like a friendly Bed & Breakfast. Very pleasant and staff always ready to help. I had some unique and unexpected issues and they went out of their way to help me resolve them. Breakfast is freshly made and fruit was exceptional. All you can eat if you want a full stomach to start the day. Rooms include a refrigerator and the hotel's location is only 4 blocks from the Tram which takes you to the OLD CITY and you can continue on public transportation to TAXIM Square and even to the airport. The neighborhood is safe and the commercial stores/restaurants are vibrant and inexpensive. Taxi to airport is reasonably priced and reservations can be made by hotel staff. A police station is only a few blocks away. What more can you ask for at such a moderate price? There was some construction that was noisy on first floor but not at the upper floors. I assume that the work will soon be completed. The internet went down but not the fault of the hotel as the entire neighborhood was without internet service.
- Kristi77 (7/5): Good - Extremely friendly staff, they give good advice and know how to help. The rooms and toilets are clean. The hotel is old but charming. Great location. Beds are comfortable but not the pillows.
- Che (8/5): Very good -
- Fatih (10/5): Exceptional - Like a museum
- Viktoriya (10/5): It was one of the best stays for us in Istanbul. - The hotel is located in Faith district next to the Grand Bazaar. it is around 20-30 min walk to main sights Aya Sofia and Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque). Despite that the first impression on location is worrisome (not very clean, very busy and chaotic) - it is a very safe area. the building is historical and has a character. It is a bit shabby though. Every room is done in different style bringing you back to late Ottoman era. It is very clean and neat inside. Personal is very nice, helpful and friendly. They have a great breakfast options and one of the best Turkish coffee.) We had taken two rooms. Both of them were amazing, but in one of them there was a feeling of a bit illogical placing of the furniture (may be it needs to be thought upon a bit). In another room there was no proper full-height wardrobe (but this is more like a slight inconvenience). Also guests should be prepared to walk uphill to get to the main sights and there is no lift in the hotel,so may be it wouldn’t be the best place for people with disabilities (personally it wasn’t a negative point to us,but it would be nice to know for others).
- Paul (1/5): Bad -
- Kristina (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kami2244 (7/5): Good - Perfect location, very good breakfast. Very helpful staff at the reception. Breakfast starts at 8.00 so it is a little late when you have a ferry, tour or sightseeing from the morning. No cleaning our room during the stay, only the rubbish were thrown away.
- Les (8/5): Good value - Location is great
- Paula (6/5): Pleasant - staff was very nice, understanding, food good.😀 It was terribly cold, a lot of noise outside
- Askesh (7/5): Good -
- Luigi (7/5): Good -
- Jeyaseelan (8/5): Very good - The staff were friendly and accommodating.
- Sophie (8/5): Great tourist location - Fantastic location for tourist attractions. lovely roof terrace overlooking the sea. Could have been a bit cleaner, bedding wasn’t the best but still slept well.
- Popov (9/5): Friendly staff, good location - Very friendly and helpful staff, fresh and mostly homemade food every breakfast, Everything was fine, no complains
- Amy (10/5): A hidden gem! Historic hotel in the heart of the old city! - I selected this hotel as it is in the heart of the old city of Istanbul. We mingled with the people and got to know true Turkish hospitality. I could have chosen a european style more modern hotel but wanted this hotel as soon as I saw the photos especially the underground breakfast area. In my view, this is an an authentic and charming little hotel that makes you feel like you stepped back in time and space. If you love ancient and authentic structures, then this might be the one for you. Situated in a busy street, you get to see the real people of Istanbul in their everyday life.
The breakfast area is an antique underground space that I find so unique! I think it is at least 300 years old if not more! As for the breakfast we got to enjoy an amazing selection every morning starting at 8 am.
We came from the United States and have been in other hotels but have not seen this kind of selection of the daily breakfast including veggies and sweets. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
As for the location of the hotel, being in the centre of the old city so close to all the attractions was worth it. We got the istanbul card and found the transportation to be easy. The staff even booked for us a bosphorus trip that we enjoyed. At the end we extended our stay by a few days.
I do recommend this little gem that is charming and authentic. You will go home with sweet memories. For me, there wasn’t a thing that I did not like. You don’t find helpful and friendly staff like the staff of Gedikpasa Konagi Hotel in other countries. I wish I could come more often!
- Arnold (10/5): Great place to stay in Istanbul for a few days. - Great place to stay in Istanbul for a few days. Great location. In the room there are all necessary facilities. Very friendly staff. Great tasty breakfast.
- Edwyn (6/5): Not the best choice - Reception staff very friendly Neighborhood is crappy
- Yosra (9/5): Superb - Staff are amazing.
Location is excellent. The hotel is a little dated, but this was expected.
- Adel (5/5): Overall it’s in old town near grand bazar - The receptionist mr ebu was so great person , help us a lot , with his effort and respect. No elevator in this hotel which make our moving so default , also room was small for family
- Omnia (10/5): Exceptional - The pepole in recaption were too friendly and helping in any question. Breakfast was so good. The sea view is so nice. Nothing
- Abeera (9/5): Superb -
