Guest Reviews
- Caitlin (8/5): Peaceful quiet dog friendly - Quiet peaceful fabulous especially for overseas visitors who want to see kangaroos close up in a natural setting and the ability to take dogs with you makes this venue extra special. Beds extremely comfortable and bed linen divine. Extremely well presented. Enormous array of books dvds and games available for use. Needs power boards in bedrooms x 4 so if you like charging your devices by your bed at night take a power boards per person as there are not enough of them. For example if you want to have the lamp and electric blanket on you have to chose one only as no double adapter or power board present so charging devices not an option unless you relocate one from another space. This applies to all bedrooms ( x 4) No cling wrap or tissues available so take your own ( which is unexpected for this type of accommodation )
- Hayes (10/5): - Great, clean, comfortable place to stay, very large, everything you needed was supplied. Just had to walk in with your clothes and food and you needed nothing more. Very comfortable, enjoyable stay. The driveway needs attention, all washed out. Minor problem really, just had to take extra care going in and out.
- Julia (9/5): - Spacious and comfortable house which was great for our extended family getaway. The house is in a quiet area and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the wood fire, and there were heaters in every room for the cold evenings. The hosts also put up a Christmas tree for us, which was a wonderful touch. One of the bedroom doors didn't close properly.
- Sophie (9/5): Great experience, will definitely come back in the future. Very hospitable staff and lovely home. - Location, tranquility, spacious, comfortable Outside bins full prior to using them, dirty towels in laundry basket on arrival
- Chop (8/5): - The house was cosy, quiet and great location, only mins to town centre. Also pet friendly Minor things, the BBQ could be bigger to cater group stays
- Lisa (10/5): Picture perfect in every way - Everything from the setting, to the house, to the communication was great.
My sister was visiting from Canada, so we wanted to give her a true Aussie experience. She absolutely loved our weekend away at The Dairy House in Daylesford.
We saw kangaroos and rabbits from the back deck and cooked a beautiful lamb roast one cold windy and rainy night and ate it at the beautiful, rustic kitchen table.
We had drinks and snacks in the lounge room with the fire going every night and took our dog for a walk around the property a few times.
We shopped along the main street, went to the Daylesford market (yes, it was a cold day but that didn't matter!) had breakfast at a local cafe and went to the Convent Gallery.
It was a lovely and memorable weekend.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Brooke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Murray (9/5): Daylesford Delight - The house was beautifully presented.
Heaters turned on, prior to arrival, made us feel so welcomed.
Not just the basic ingredients, plenty of coffee, oil, wood for the fire, salt and pepper, Vegemite and quality bathroom accessories.
Top quality bedding.
All in all, well thought out and everything you need. Everything was great.
- Norm (4/5): Nice spot but attention to detail on cleaning comes up short - Good location great house in style Having to pay for fire wood after 2 nights as only limited amount provided and wood fire the only heating available for family lounge area
Mouse dropping around including in draws with place mats etc
Clean only average
Did not reply to txt when sent as we left early due to Moore mice being found dead and running around house
Not enough full size forks in kitchen to meals
- Moksha (9/5): Superb - Perfect location, just a few minutes drive into town. Kangaroos all around, wonderful to see, kids loved it! Great heating and cooling, alongside comfy beds and plenty of space.
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (9/5): Excellent - The property is a beautiful old home that was moved from Kew . Charming old house with a beautiful balcony at the side to sit and listen to the birds and watch the many kangaroos visiting The property had everything you needed included fenced off area for our small dog
- Kym (9/5): Sensational Family Weekend at Dairy House. - The property is just like the pictures with character and charm. A few minutes drive into the main town centre. Enjoyed a lovely 3 night weekend celebrating a family members birthday with my parents, sister and her hubby, my husband and son, so the 4 rooms was perfect. Everything is self contained just like if you were at home and easy to use. Brochures of local highlights, restaurants, maps etc. Fireplace set up ready to enjoy or outside fire pit if you desired. My sister has a dog and as we were all coming away, being able to bring him made it simple for us to get away. Plenty of parking, quiet spot with hill and gully view along with visiting kangaroo's in the back ground. Turn off all lights to see the magnificent stars in the night sky. Large kitchen table for all to sit at breaky, plus to play cards and there is a selection of games and books and if you're a music buff a few guitars to strum along. The usual TV kitchen etc, BBQ out side, a few different sitting areas and if you must a laundry. They thought of everything. We don't have small children but there's a high chair and as my parents are in their 80's a shower chair which just shows how much thought they have gone too. Brilliant and Highly recommended. We like our privacy so simple procedure for check in. Book it - you won't regret it.
- Maree (9/5): Exceptional House - Very clean comfortable house. Had everything you needed.. Great beds all with electric blankets and heating in all bedrooms.
Accommodated us allowing early access. Only thing would be the drive way in. Very rough surface would be even more difficult if you had heavy rain.
- Anna (10/5): Cozy and fun. - The house was cozy yet spacious. The fire gave a lovely atmosphere on a cold winter night. The beds were super comfy and fitted with electric blankets. Kangaroos greeted us in the morning too!
- Steve (10/5): We will be back. - Very spacious home for our family with all the creature comforts. There wasn’t enough firewood for our stay and needed to buy a couple bags.
- Dlene (10/5): Exceptional - The house was amazing, very welcoming and comfortable. It was very well equipped. Perfect for a girls weekend away. The heating worked really well especially on a cold weekend and was even turned on for us before we arrived . We loved watching the kangaroos and looking out at the view. It was only a short drive into Daylesford.
- Weiwei (9/5): Superb -
- Maria (9/5): Superb -
- Trilby (10/5): A little slice of paradise - We loved this house, which was large enough to accommodate our family comfortably. The location was spectacular. I loved the show a kangaroo, and its joey would treat me to each morning. The bird life was amazing, too. There is plenty of heating and cooling that came in handy. I can't think of anything I didn't like. I know my family kept thanking me the whole weekend for getting the house. You had absolutely everything else, but we couldn't find a bread knife lol.
- Stacey (9/5): Superb - Loved the house and garden. Beautiful interior. It would have been interesting to have some information on such a lovely home. The kitchen dining area was great for family interaction. The lounge room was very comfortable. The house was lovely and warm with the heating on. Some of the pans were not usable on the induction hob. The knives were not sharp enough to cut. The birds nesting in the roof were quite loud at nice. All these things are minor and don't detract form a great house.
