• Leigh (10/5): Amazing ocean views - Beautiful high quality fruits and cereal, lovely and clean super quiet easy access, great size room, everything you need. You don’t even know there are any other people staying-private access, easy parking That I don’t own it!
• Robyn (10/5): I would recommend Solitary Islands Lodge to you all! - Loved the spectacular view, the ease of parking, and entry to the property - just a few steps to the lovely room. The view was spectacular, the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, and it was quiet and private. The breakfast was great, and all we had to do was enjoy this generous offering on the deck, pick up our bags, and leave. Easy as! A lovely holiday getaway, which we would use again.
• Nicola (9/5): Everything we needed for an overnight stay. - Beautiful location. Loved hearing the waves. Great breakfast, everything we needed. Greeted and shown where everything was. Very friendly. Somewhere to park the car. Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.
• Denise (9/5): - Breakfast looked to be well stocked but I didn’t have any. Amazing views of the ocean, Bed was very comfortable I would stay again Just a couple of small things. It would be nice to have ice in the freezer or available in the larger fridge down stairs. I expected to have a microwave in the room but there was one available downstairs Tea towel provided but no dishcloth

• Lynne (8/5): Fabulous location with wonderful views, undercover parking and a comfortable king-size bed. - The food provided for breakfast was very good - fresh fruit, muesli, bread (sourdough?), plunger coffee - but there needed to be more yoghurt and juice for our second morning. We needed teaspoons and a tea towel for drying dishes.

• Michelle (10/5): It was a flying visit but I felt as comfortable as if I was at home. - Less than a five minute walk to town. Neat, tidy and room well set out with all that you could need. Breakfast and fruit provided plus tea, coffee, juice and water. Plenty of local information available in-room to plan your day. Would definitely recommend.

• Lesley (6/5): Disappointing Stay - Overpriced for What you Get - We liked the peaceful position and the lovely view from the small balcony, the sound of the ocean and the fresh sea breezes. Continental breakfast provisions were good. We stayed two nights and were left with enough food for two breakfasts, but not enough crockery etc., as there was no provision to wash plates and glasses. Detergent, wash cloth and a tea towel could have been provided. We found the room tired and lacking in style. The carpet was very worn and really needs replacing. The bathroom was poorly stocked, with only two thin towels and a small bathmat provided—no hand towel or face washer, and the shower gel dispenser was empty. We only saw the owner once, on the first morning, when we had to wake them (and another guest) because our car was blocked in. (It was blocked in again on the second morning but the guest had thoughtfully put his mobile on the windscreen). Overall, the experience fell short of expectations and we felt the room was overpriced for the quality and service provided.

• John (10/5): - A beautiful room, bedding, cleanliness, comfort . A lovely welcome after a long day. Just a suggestion: Kettle and toaster had to be operated in cupboard. Concerned about fire hazard. Perhaps a small table outside of cupboard for breakfast utensils, etc.
• Paul (7/5): Venue great but noise curfews should be in place for other gursta - Breakfast was great thankyou The people above us were talking loudly till way after midnight which kept us awake and I had a major sports competition the next morning and lack of sleep definitely affected my performance.

• Barbara (4/5): Needs A Good Clean - The lady who owned the property was helpful The property needs a deep clean. Upon entering the main door, and also in the room booked, there was a strong musty/mouldy smell. It was affecting my breathing. I couldn't stay in this environment, so left the property and found somewhere else for the night. Looks like I forfeit my money?
• Michael (10/5): Exceptional - The room was large , the king bed was comfortable , breakfast was great with a selection of fruit and cereal, plunger coffee and a selection of teas. The shower was roomy with plenty of hot water. Parking was next to the house so we did not get wet . Views from the unit were coastal and a pr of binoculars were provided. There was no fold up luggage rack.
• Emily (10/5): Wonderful hospitality, amenity and location - highly recommend - Highly recommend - wonderful hospitality and a well stocked room with a range of breakfast foods and three sets of chairs for enjoying the views. I found the bed very comfortable and the room felt spacious and very clean. I loved being so close to the water and I enjoyed the sea breeze through multiple windows and the sound of the waves. Nothing, I loved it here!

Coffee was ground but wasn't fresh.. shower had a little tiny fan which wasn't the best for ventilation. No air con but the windows open with the ocean breeze was lovely. Nice for a little getaway.

They were such good hosts, even offering to drive us to the restaurant we were going to that night. So many extras that you don't get in a motel. It was a nice change to stay with the owners rather than just going to another motel and fending for ourselves. The only thing which was an inconvenience was the size of the fridge - it was very small. Being on a road trip, we had food and drinks we wanted to keep in a fridge, but it didn't all fit. To be fair, Denise did offer us space in another fridge, but by that stage, we were about to leave.
