Guest Reviews
- Marion (10/5): A very convenient location - The bed was so comfortable and the room very clean. The lady behind the bar was exceptionally kind to customers as I waited and so kind to me. The pub has a really lovely vibe downstairs and the room was quiet. Nothing
- Peter (7/5): - Nice enough in Bombala pub was good nice food.
- randall (10/5): Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again and the food was great - Clean tidy hotel. Staff tremendous
- Tim (2/5): - Couldnt process refund
- Matt (3/5): - Excellent pub food, welcoming, friendly staff. Unfortunately there was a noise disturbance from the bar until 3.15 AM, when we had to come down and ask for the loud music to be turned off. No obvious manager on-site to assist. As a result we didn't really get any sleep, which was much needed after a very long journey, with another one planned the next day. No manager was available at checkout to discuss the issues.
- Kevin (7/5): Pretty basic but nice ,hotel was really nice town was lovely - Bed was comfortable Toilets /showers down
Other end to where room was and the shower was leaking hot and cold either water was boiling hot or freezing cold and not really anywhere to store your stuff only hooks on door

- Steve (8/5): We had a nice stay. And enjoyed some good company at the pub. - Very friendly staff and locals. And everything was very clean. No complaints what so ever. It’s as you would expect from an older pub / hotel in a country town.

- Jonathan (3/5): Never again, it is what it is…. - Nothing much, staff were polite The bar smells like stale soaked beer carpet. Restaurant is so overpriced. Communal bathrooms. Over priced for what it is!

- Judith (6/5): - This property was clean, comfortable and simply furnished. It had old world, country character. The main changing area in the shared bathrooms was exposed to anyone walking by if the door was opened.
I could find no fire plan in my room and spent much of the night wondering how I would get my children out of their locked, internal bedroom that only had a high window to the hallway, placed above the door. Is this legal?
- Michael (7/5): Great location and friendly staff but facilities were average. - Location and friendly staff. Room was a long way from the bathroom and the TV was faulty.
- gregory (8/5): -
- Fiona (7/5): Lovely staff, some investment in facilities needed. - The room was warm and clean and the staff are lovely. The bathrooms are cold and not fully functional. I avoided showering during the really cold weather because there was an open window and it was dangerously cold in there.
- Robyn (9/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - The food and service was great. Very nice clean accommodation. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would love to stay again.
- Rodney (7/5): Comfortable, no noise - Spacious no free water, unless you went to Bathroom to get
- Maureen (8/5): Comfortable stay, - The room was very comfortable and clean. The meals at Hotel were very good. Would have liked ensuite in room, not to have to share bathroom, especially having to go out of room of a night to go to toilet.
- ALAN (9/5): Excellent - Suitable location..travelling through to Canberra All good
- Joel (8/5): -
- Peter (8/5): - Filled our needs Our key didnt open the outside door so we had trouble getting after hours

- Loveday (7/5): -
- Deborah (5/5): Rooms was clean but did not have a sink or any mirrors. Noise from the hotel echoed up to the rooms - Clean rooms We did not get room close together as requested. Noise from the hotel went until very late and echoed up the stairs.

- Leane (8/5): - Comfortable and had a great band on Sunday
- Garth (7/5): -
- Danijel (8/5): - Hotel odiše starinskim štihom Australije. Sobe u kojima smo boravili nemaju prozore, a nismo u prijavi primjetili da je WC zajednički.

- Martina (7/5): Ideal overnight stop with the family - We stayed one night at this lovely old pub hotel in Bombala. It's not far from the river, walking trails and a well-equiped playground. The pub staff were friendly and welcoming, and the meals were decent. As for the hotel itself, we stayed in the family room, which was a good size. There was a mini fridge, water kettle and basic cutlery / dinnerware - enough to pull together a simple breakfast with coffee in the morning, which was a lifesaver when traveling with the kids! Overall it was a great place to break up the long drive from Melbourne to Canberra. Everything was fine. It would have been great to have more shower / toilet facilities, which I can imagine get pretty busy when the hotel is full. Also good to note is there as no window in our room, but this wasn't an issue for a quick overnight stay.

- SWAPNIL RAJENDRA (6/5): -
- Sandra (10/5): Good stopover hotel for Melbourne/Sydney travellers. - Convenient location, friendly staff, nice bistro. Nothing
- Marti (8/5): - Friendly staff, good food, quiet room. Nothing in room to clean up when we had tea and spilled some milk. .
- D (8/5): Highly recommended, maybe use ear plugs - Very comfortable and clean, great value. Food was great Unfortunately the fire brigade decided to water something early in the morning
- David (1/5): -
- Greg (8/5): Stayed before and will stay again. - Informative staff, good location. Off street motorcycle parking.
- Jakob (6/5): -
- Andrew (5/5): A pub with simple, no frills accommodation - Centrally located, easy to reach and good access to rooms (upstairs). Dinner (pub food) was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. A breakfast basket could be provided for $10 (cereal, juice and snacks), but I opted for a short walk down the street to a lovely cafe for a cooked breakfast. While the bedroom was clean and comfortable, and the bed comfortable, there was no mirror in the room, the floor creaked loudly (it IS an old building) and there was no ensuite. The room was directly opposite the shared bathroom, hence lots of noise, especially at 5 am when the tradies (a popular place for them to stay when working locally) got up and banged doors, shouted to each other and generally ignored any other visitors. There was a bad septic stench from the bathroom late at night which permeated the bedroom. The male bathroom had two showers, of which one had broken fittings and the water flow was intermittent - I've experienced better in caravan parks.
- Elizabeth (8/5): A great country pub - Friendly efficient staff
- Leanne (8/5): -
- John (4/5): Adequate, dry warm shelter - Locality and ezy to book UHT MILK was seven months out of date
No window on room
Broken steps at entrance
Crap one ply toilet paper
- David (7/5): Great old pub, comfortable, great staff and food. Shared Bathrooms a bit of a let down. - Great staff, very friendly. Good food. Great location. Bathrooms were a bit old and unclean. Needed updating.
- Susan (3/5): Needs work on comfort factor - Not much Bed was uncomfortable, bathroom really out dated, noisy guests the night we stayed. booked for 2 nights but moved on after one
- Mark (8/5): -
- Ed (7/5): -
- Alison (4/5): Door to room doesn’t lock - Fantastic clean, The fact that the door didn’t lock and they are still putting people in the room and no warning when you collect the keys until you get to the room and find out it doesn’t lock, then they don’t offer a reduced cost or refund, you can’t just walk away and get something else in town
Bad hospitality
- Peter (8/5): - The room was clean and comfortable—slightly small, but I understand they vary in size. The shared bathroom was clean. Overall, it’s typical pub-style accommodation. Better than most. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The bistro food good with a good selection on the menu.
- simon (3/5): - central location, very small town... The obvious is, yes you are staying above a pub.. But to have the communal bathroom being used as a smoking room by other guests is slightly annoying!! Being woken at 2am in the morning by extremely loud and violent vomiting from downstairs in the bar area, is less than anyone should or could expect! I'm unaware of their liquor licensing times, but i'm assuming it was primarily staff and or a few locals left drinking, realising this after passing the staff member that checked me in, wandering up the stairs just after 2am on my way to the 'communal' bathroom...., obviously fairly inebriated. The food although edible left a lot to be desired, using frozen vegetables and charging those prices, slightly disappointing, again it is a pub, I realise this.
So all in all, this was not a pleasant stay in any way, would highly recommend staying anywhere else.
- Mark (10/5): - Really clean, very friendly staff. Close to everything you might need There’s nothing to write here
- John (8/5): I’d stay at the Imperial Bombala again on my next journey through these parts. - Classic country pub. There was an excellent spot to park our motorcycles undercover at back of the hotel, much appreciated and very convenient. Nice verandah for reading in the late afternoon after a day out exploring. A little bit noisy but nothing out of the ordinary or enough to disturb sleep.
- Fiona (8/5): A comfortable and convenient stay on our road trip - Friendly staff. Great bar and dining room. Great hot shower in the women's bathroom. Steak was beautifully cooked. The location was excellent, and we were able to park our motorbikes undercover within the grounds of the pub. We couldn't lock our door. Men's shower went cold. Women's shower was lovely. The Tacos for dinner weren't great... no flavour and dry.
- Rachael Law (5/5): - location in town , comfy beds , clean and tidy Very suprised the room did not have its own bathroom and toilet , from ad we thought we did but had to keep walking backwards and forwards and take kids

- Dianne (8/5): Very pleasant stay in a nice town. Close to the river where we saw 3 platypus😀 - Very comfy bed . The staff were very friendly. Good pub meal downstairs. Good hot water in the showers. The rooms could do with some more hanging space. Only 2 hooks behind the door so a couple can’t hang their clothes and their wet towels . Also there is a small kitchen with microwave and toaster that we weren’t aware of.
- Hoare (10/5): Warm friendly people that could not do enough for you - STAFF NOTHING
- Simone (7/5): Good -
- Jack-sprat (9/5): Superb -

- Avada (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (5/5): Passable -
- Heather (9/5): Good overnighter - Refreshed rooms comfy bed. Shared bathrooms which unlike the rooms were tired and in need of a make over. Also a mirror in room would be a good addition.
