• Claire (3/5): Basic budget stay. Nothing like the photos. - Location Very basic. We were not given the room that was advertised - Drumie house, instead we were given Legume house which was very different from the pics. There was a tiny internal window. We did not stay in Drumie house which is what we booked so can only review 'legume' house. Rather bleak, down the end of a narrow alleyway. Stairs are steep if you have problems with stairs.

• Chhoeun (10/5): Review for Bridgo homestay instead because my room need work at the time - There was actually a problem with my room and they are working on fixing it when I arrived. The host went an extra mile and actually gave me an upgrade room at a different home stay because of the originally room problem. He drove me there and apologized profusely but like i told him if you do it right then I have no problem with it. So the other home stay is called Bridgo Homestay. It wasn't too far from this location. They own both established. It have all the things for me need. The location is great and only a block a away, there's a lake that I like sitting down and people watch through the busyness of the Vietnamese people. Good location with everything you need around you. My room was in the 4th floor so I barely hear anything going on outside. Not a problem with me but might be some for others. There are no elevator. Climbing to the 4th floor was nothing for me until you walked all day and then only to just go straight for your room relaxing in the nice ac and fan provided. I couldn't figure out to use the shower head. The location can be tricky. If you have big luggage, it might trouble some. Wasn't for since I carried back pack. The alley is small and you go through restaurant.
• Theunis Matthias (4/5): Matig - De locatie was goed. Je bevindt je in the old quarter en 1 min lopen van Hoan kiem lake. Bedden lagen ook prima. De kamer zag er niet uit zoals op de plaatjes. Erg verouderd. Het was erg gehorig, waardoor je snachts slecht sliep. Je hoort veel getoeter. In de badkamer liep het water slecht weg waardoor je steeds natte voeten hebt.
• Lyle (4/5): Overall the management of this property really needs some improving. - The location and the room itself was okay There is no reception so if you need anything such as pillow, towel, toilet paper you will have to wait several hours or even days. And the only time they are available to help with anything is after 10pm. Also we didn’t have water one of the days so no shower, sink or toilet at the hotel. But when I asked for a discount the guy said he could give me a $2 discount as long as I write him a 10 star review. Then he attempted to take my phone and write himself a review all while I was brushing my teeth and trying to catch a flight. If it wasn’t for that interaction I probably wouldn’t be writing this but it makes me think all of the reviews on here might be fake/staged.

• paul (6/5): Budget good size basic accomodation -great location - great manager - The manager went above and beyond to help us once our booking through booking.com conflicted with another which meant we didn’t stay in the original listed accommodation - he was very attentive to try and ensure we were comfortable - feel he needs greater support from the owners Requires upgrading as didn’t have a TV broken by previous guest until we asked the manager if we could use one from another room - which we were able to stand on a table bathroom needs a good clean or refurbishment - we had the manager remove a huge cockroach from the room - who was very obliging when more of a cleaning issue

(Helt klart ukorrekt) Lugten fra badeværelset var så stærk at man skulle tro hele bygningens afføring lige skulle ind at vende hos os🤢. Lidt grænseoverskridende adfærd fra personalet som kom op til vores værelse med insisterende banken for at modtage betaling, og derudover sendte endeløse beskeder med upassende kærligt indhold.

• Fran (7/5): Habitación pequeña y vieja - Al llegar a Hanoi el alojamiento que había reservado me canceló la reserva y reservé con Drumie Homestay desde el aeropuerto. La comunicación con el personal fue inmediata y fluida. No hay personal en el alojamiento y las llaves se obtienen a través de un candado con un código, pero el chico se acercó a abrirme cuando llegué. La cama da sensación de comodidad y limpieza. Buena ubicación. La habitación no es lo que se intuye en las fotos. Es más oscura y tanto la habitación como el baño se veían envejecidos. La habitación no transmitía sensación de limpieza (la cama sí, que es lo más importante). La habitación es pequeña para dejar la maleta (en el suelo) y apenas hay espacio para dejar cosas. Para una persona es justo, pero para dos es muy pequeña. La puerta de la habitación tiene un cristal traslúcido, por lo que se filtra la luz del exterior durante toda la noche. La entrada es uno de los típicos callejones de Hanoi y después hay que subir escaleras. Para mí no es algo negativo, es parte de lo que es el alojamiento en sí, pero lo menciono para que otros viajeros lo puedan valorar.
• Lâm Bích Tiên (6/5): Cũng tạm ok - Giường nằm ok chủ yếu phòng này vào ngủ thui Phòng tắm ko có quạt hút, bí. Bên ngoài thì khi hỏi thăm có cho thêm thảm lau chân để ko bị dây nước ra sàn. Đường vào chỗ này khá tối, khuya ko có đèn & không có mái che nên mưa đi zô sẽ bị ướt nha.

Only two toilets working but another toilet at the top floor was padlocked. This was not the property we booked for that was supposed to be 50m from Hoan Kiem Lake. We were moved to another location 500m away. Property Manager said the property we originally booked for was not ready due to electrical and water problems as stated on their WhatsApp message. I tried to cancel the booking but it was really too late and booking.com wasn’t responding. The alley way going into the property was very dirty and this shocked our group.

• James (5/5): - Good location and provided efficient airport shuttle. Let us pay with credit card. Hosts tried to charge us more than the original online booking price and they kept messaging for us to pay it (when we hadn’t got cash out yet) which was frustrating when our time was limited, we were busy and we just wanted to enjoy our stay in Hanoi. First time experiencing this in Vietnam after staying at multiple other places. They did however let us pay with card in the end which was a positive. Outside our room there was a generator which was noisy anytime the AC was on. The shower was poor, the hot water lasted two minutes with the bathroom also gaining a bad smell during the time of our stay. No window.

• Franziska (3/5): - The room does not quite match the description on Booking in my opinion. It felt like the bed sheet weren’t changed from the previous guest before I arrived. Also, the bathroom was not enjoyable at all! It seemed like it has not been cleaned in a long time. It had a very intense bad smell (especially the toilet!) that was tried to cover with air freshener and the valves were not taken take of in a while. The bed was very comfortable though.
