Guest Reviews
- Allison (8/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): - Decor, quiet and scenery
- Sanghvi (10/5): -
- Timothy (8/5): - Very close to our wdding venue, beautiful location and very tranquil. The host Lewis was very helpful The driveway
- Lucie (8/5): Magical fairybook cottage in the woods - Beautiful spot in the forest and the property gardens were magical. Loved the flowers, trees, etc. Nice to stroll around the property grounds. Very good split heating systems and also we had a fire in our cottage. It’s only a short drive into Emerald which has one of the best bakeries in Victoria. Lovely to walk around Lake Emerald, see Puffing Billy etc. We also went to the KaBloom flower festival. Local pubs are good too. Makes for a really relaxing weekend! The furnishings such as curtains, rugs, etc had a bit of a Temu Tudor vibe. I think they should be replaced with soft creams and whites, cosy beige throws etc. It made it quirky and fun but updates would make it more modern and cosy.
- Kovesy (9/5): -
- Kristen (8/5): Quiet and comfortable - Enjoyed the comfortable beds and the ease of use of the keypads to get into the villa. Good location to stay for a wedding. Arrived at night would have liked more lights around the property to see properly
- Jenelle (9/5): - Sunshine Forest Gardens has lovely grounds, beautiful clean rooms with everything we need. I felt a little uneasy about the adjoining room.
- Wasson (10/5): Highly recommend! - I loved the location, the vibes of the entire place, the serenity, how easy it was to contact staff, how short the drive is to the town of emerald which has a lot of really good shops. The price was really good, being able to sit outside with a coffee in the morning and just listen to the birds was surreal.
- Jillian (8/5): Comfortable stay. Happy to return. -
- Sharon (8/5): -
- Mary (8/5): Very enjoyable -
- Tayla (10/5): -
- Deborah (6/5): - When im on holiday..I dont expect to have list of chores to do when leaving. Told to empty bins and walk to front of property to put rubbish out to at least 5 bins that where filled to overflowing..no one had obviously been to property in a long time.
Was your dishes and put them away..the dishes where dirty from last holiday dwellers..and to wash them in a old dirty terracotta sink where people brush there teeth..no fly screens.so you could not air out room that smelled musty. Interior was a little outdated. The gardens where beautiful yet a bit weedy
- Derrick (9/5): Olde world charm in the hills, quite a beautiful location and would definitely stay again. - The room had everything one could possibly need and was so very well presented.
Linen was clean, soft and the beds were comfortable.
Provisions in the room were thoughtful, beautiful soft gowns, slippers, quality toiletries and good supply of kitchen utensils and cutlery etc. Not a dislike, just an observation. A bit more attention to the surroundings and gardens would elevate this accommodation to an exceptional rating.
- Zita (9/5): Great host, cosy place - Peaceful place in beautiful environment with great host. Questions were answered well and late check-out was accomodated. Some plates and mugs were unused for a while, covered in dust.
- Kayla (8/5): Overall was an enjoyable stay. - Great space inside the villa. Beautiful gardens. There were no tea towels in the kitchen. We booked for 3 people and were only provided towels for 2 people. Would be more secure having a way to lock the front door from inside.
- Catherine (10/5): - Was very comfortable and quiet. The shower was fantastic, great water pressure. Would definitely stay there again 😀
- Katherine (10/5): - Excellent communication from management before and during our stay.
Beautiful location and spacious, clean accommodation.
- Alison (7/5): -
- Joanne (8/5): We loved the quirky ascetic/ beautifully done, - Enjoyed being surrounded by nature. Cleaners need to pay attention to cleaning the skirting boards ( very dusty) and the sheer curtains were being held up by safety pins ( one curtain fell down)
- Luke Blanchfield (10/5): - Loving place had great vibes about it and was very peaceful. Location is perfect as its close to everything. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back for another visit
- Xing (9/5): -
- Megan (7/5): - Nice location, very peaceful The firewood is wet and doesn’t burn
- Nel (7/5): Enjoyable for the most part, would consider staying again with improvements. - We loved the location as Emerald is very special to us. Loved the bluestone cottages. Bed was comfy and warm. Linen soft and fresh. It was quite dark and dated with furnishings. We enjoy quaint places but the furnishings made the space feel small. Perhaps some lighter earthy/natural decor would soften the space. Not enough crockery in our room for 4 people. No dishwashing detergent or tea towel. We wasted a lot of water washing a handful of dishes in the dishwasher. No broom, laundry facilities or ironing board.
- Leon (8/5): -
- Belinda (7/5): Fairly nice accommodation, good communication - Beautiful location and gardens Parking/driveway tight in places. Some confusion finding it as we booked Sunshine Forest Garden yet the sign at the entrance says Sun Kissed Forest Garden so we initially drove past.
- Jennifer (6/5): Lovely place, but wont stay again. Not suitable for children. If I knew there was no fireplace and no parking near unit, - Loved the stone cottages, and the gardens. Not parking near the villa (had a baby so had alot of things to unload from the car), aircon was ridiculously loud (banging on and off during the night), only one heat lamp in bathroom so was absolutely freezing to use it, very dark, no fireplace (I booked it thinking there was a fireplace), bunks were very uncomfortable and no extra blankets. Also, signs up saying dont pick fruit off the full fruit trees, instead its all falling on the ground rotting. The kids would of loved picking a few fruit.
- Karin (9/5): Cute and chilled. So serene. - So cute and quaint and cosy. We didn’t want to leave. Very well appointed. Robes were a nice touch. There was a bit of a smell outside (maybe grey water). And could have used some kindling in arrival, not overall we loved our stay in Myrtle Loft. It was so cute!
- Taylah (8/5): Great would recommend anyone - Clean well maintained and a lovely spot Fireplace didn’t have instructions and didn’t know how to use
- Wei (9/5): -
- Bianca (7/5): -
- Adrian (9/5): -
- Yurni (10/5): A great place to unwind and immerse oneself in nature - A beautiful cottage that is surrounded by nature, with fully functional kitchen and fireplace. It was very comfortable and spacious for 4 adults. You can easily explore Mount Dandenong although it’s highly recommended that you have your own transport to do so.
- Michael (8/5): -
- Matthew (9/5): We really loved it … beautiful building and surroundings … - Using the provided key code with electronic door was perfect shower and bathroom vanity could do with a good scrub
- Joanne (9/5): Superb - Beautiful gardens, nice furnishings. WiFi was good. Bathroom had a heat setting, which was nice. The beautiful exposed stone on the inner walls has one downside - it means the room takes a long time to warm up. Once it is warm, it's fine, but you will need to have it on for quite a few hours to achieve that.
- Garry (10/5): Relaxing comfortable spacious. - Secluded, private large space. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable clean bed. Needed the fuel fire some nights. Close to town. Improved lighting around car park space to accommodation would be appreciated
- Stephanie (7/5): Rustic charm - Rustic, charming. It was quite cold inside the property during winter. Would be nice to have some cooking supplies.
- Mallory (9/5): Superb - Beautiful cottage, very comfortable, gas stove and hot shower. Host was very responsive despite not being in the physical vicinity. Very much enjoyed my stay there and would definitely stay there again in the future. Pots/pans were worn and would be nice to have some cooking oil/spray provided to avoid having to purchase your own to use for only a few days. Parking space for my particular room was a bit of a walk over gravel and stairs which was difficult with a suitcase. Wifi was quite patchy, so I ended up mostly just using my own data.
- Karen (9/5): Nice quiet location, very comfortable and clean accommodation - definitely recommend. - The room was very comfortable, it was located in a nice quiet location, the water in the bathroom was hot and the room was very clean. The weather was cold, the reverse cycle air conditioner was ok but a bit noisy so turned it off when going to bed but there were no extra blankets in the room.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeffrey (9/5): Superb - Forest surroundings. Location. Facilities was fine. Because of the timber and stone interior the inside of the unit was quite dark.
- Karen (10/5): Romantic Quiet Didn't Want To Leave - The peace, tranquility and the beautiful well-maintained property. The open fire, the beautiful decor and unique furnishings inside. The homely feel and ability to prepare a comforting meal to eat in. The fantastic quick correspondence with the owner when needed. We stayed in the one-bedroom villa and the pictures were exactly as shown on the booking website.
The price was fantastic. Wish we had booked for longer. Nothing everything was perfect and one of the nicest places we have ever stayed together as a married couple.
- Deniseclemente (10/5): Nice charming get away - The grounds and gardens were beautiful. The place was really charming and felt luxurious. Each bed had a nice towel and robe and slippers. The bunk bed room looked a bit like an after thought (probably because it is meant for kids). They had a lesser quality towel and also no robe. Not a major down fall but if you're all adults you may want to rotate beds so everyone has a nice experience.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rich (10/5): Exceeded my expectations and will be back next time I’m in toe town - Everything! Comfortable, cozy, well appointed and quiet No complaints at all
- Clan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Nice small villa to spend with someone special Dining chairs too small
- Melinda (8/5): Cute - Very cute and quaint. A little on the tight side - no table for eating inside.
- Hill-mcgrath (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (9/5): Myrtle Loft was a delightful mud brick building. Internally completed very well. It was very - Breakfast was not included in the price, so we were self sufficient
The location was ideal. Very peaceful and nearby to attractions.
- Anthony (8/5): Peace and quiet - A lovely, quiet spot to escape the hussle and bussle. It had everything we needed to a great stay. We had a couple of internet issues, and the team couldn't have been more helpful in trying to resolve it. All in all, a great couple of days. Thanks guys!
- Sally (8/5): It was clean and comfortable - A handrail on those steps would have been appreciated
- Qiao (10/5): Relax and comfort - Very spacious and comfortable bed and facilities.surrounded by forest. Can't hear road noise. Would recommend to put a tea towel, sponge to wash dishes.
A few knives and forks and fry pan were dirty
- Kylie (8/5): Very good -
- Clare (9/5): Superb - We stayed as a family of 6 adults and although the accommodation was basic it gave us everything we needed. Was well supplied with toiletries, towels, bedding and even soft dressing gowns. Really well placed for what we needed and lovely to revisit the Dandenong Ranges, even though a little wet.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manuella (8/5): Very good - Beautiful cottage. Needs a little maintenance. Beds were a bit uncomfortable.
- Mitchell (8/5): Very good -
- Kriston (8/5): Very good -
- Holly (8/5): Very good -
- Asanka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samee (8/5): Very good -
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (8/5): Great location, peace and quiet amongst the Forrest. - Clean and comfortable, good location
Very quiet A bit on the small side
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - It was lovely to wake up to birdsong in the surrounding gardens. I found the bed very comfortable
The bathroom sink had water in it and it did not drain and I contacted Lewis the host and he immediately followed up with a handyman to visit in the next 15 mins. However the sink just needed for the plug to be pushed in, which I was not aware of. I appreciated Lewis’s help which was friendly and helpful.
- Tanuj (7/5): Good place to stay. Safe and clean. - Cleanliness, house and location Lack of tissues, kitchen napkins, internet
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Alyssa (9/5): Superb -
- Shenali (5/5): Passable -
- Yutong (10/5): The place is very beautiful and atmospheric 😊 - Beautiful property, large space
- Cyril (9/5): Superb -
- Kara (10/5): Would stay again - Beautiful place very clean Nothing
- David (5/5): Nice room but difficult to get case up from car over rough ground and stsirs - Room was good Access to units steep stairs and rough gravel
Not suitable for over 70’s
- Donna (7/5): Very nice stay but luckily it was a short one - Relaxing and secluded. Very quiet Springs in my mattress sticking into me.
- Ken (9/5): This accomodation was good value for the price - Very quiet location and met all our needs. It was exceptionally clean Nil
- Niroshana (10/5): Exceptional -

- Catalogna (9/5): Superb -
- Mckay (9/5): A great weekender - Our villa was lovely. And in such a beautiful setting. It was a very short drive into emerald fir supplies and dinner.
- Khanh (8/5): Great escape from city without being too far - Wooden medievil vibes with modern amenities
- Aiden (8/5): I enjoyed my stay very much but bed is uncomfortable. - The beauty of the surrounding nature and quietness. Cozy location. The bed is uncomfortable.
- Nicole (10/5): Warm, cosy cottage in a superb setting. - The cottages were warm and cosy. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The quirky design choices in the rooms made us feel at home. We had a lovely stay amongst the trees. The grounds and gardens are lovely. We were asked to wash the dishes but didn’t have the equipment to do so. I don’t think washing dishes in the bathroom sink with soap should be a thing!
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - The villa was beautiful. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure and heat in the shower was excellent. The heater took a while to heat up the room. It would have been nice to have an electric blanket on the bed.
