• Sarah (7/5): We had a great time but hope the suggestions above will make it even better for future guests. - Excellent location and comfortable The kitchen could be better equipped (not everyone eats out all the time!). We were offered the use of the dishwasher, but no tabs supplied. The door configuration on the first floor is dangerous and needs changing. The bathrooms need ventilation and a grab rail in the shower .. the floor was slippery. The first bedroom needs bedside lights so you can read and both bedrooms need chairs to put clothes on. We hope that is helpful.

Comfortable space for four adults and adequate kitchenette although we ate out most of the time. Good local sandwich and bakers shops for breakfast and lunch. Had to buy tea bags but no real issues.

• Madie (10/5): - Peace Haven truly lived up to its name. The apartment was absolutely lovely — modern, spotless, and beautifully presented, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Having two bedrooms made it perfect for our trip, and the facilities were excellent throughout. The location couldn’t have been better: right in the heart of Ypres’ old town, with shops, restaurants, and historic sights just a short walk away. A huge bonus was the car park very close to the property, which made arrival and getting around completely stress-free. Bernard was a fantastic host — incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. He even kindly allowed us to check in early, which was very much appreciated and set the tone for a wonderful stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay in Ypres and would highly recommend Peace Haven to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and a truly welcoming experience. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ N/A

• Brian (10/5): A great place to stay when visiting Ypres - Our host Bernard is really friendly and professional. Great Communications. The building is new, and the facilities and condition of the premises are excellent. The building is located in an excellent position and is only a matter of about 400 yards from the centre of Ypres. Car parking can be an issue directly outside of the premises, but there is secure car parking provided, which is only a matter of a five-minute walk away, although driving to it because of one-way roads in the locality can seem daunting at first but full instructions are provided by Bernard plus a code you photograph on your mobile gives you the route using google maps. I am 74 years of age and found it very straightforward. So it was a matter of parking as close to the location as possible, unpacking everything from your vehicle, then going and parking up. There is a small cafe come takeaway just outside the premises with restricted opening times, but these are listed on the shop door. The prices are really reasonable and whilst we were self-catering, I popped across and bought some chips to add to our meal, and they were excellent and very affordable prices in comparison to the prices charged in the town centre. There are also a couple of small bars in the nearby streets, and again, the prices are really good. Happy with everything.

Host Bernard was excellent - he let us check-in early and went through everything very throughly. Parking was a bonus- easy to find and only a few minutes walk away from the property. We would definitely stay again. A very minor niggle but the pillows were way too soft for us.

• Erik (8/5): Mooi appartement op loopafstand van de Grote Markt - De ligging is geweldig, binnen de vesting op 8 minuten van de Grote Markt. Uitstekende bedden (2 maal 2 persoons), schoon, toilet beneden en boven op de badkamer. Er ontbreken haakjes om handdoeken of jassen op te hangen. Besteklade voorziet voor 1 maaltijd voor vier personen (dus: of handafwas of nagenoeg lege vaatwasser draaien), banken in de huiskamer zijn erg laag.

Parking sécurisé disponible. La table de la cuisine était un peu instable (à savoir une fois son café posé...). Alors que la cuisine est très bien équipée en électroménager, les ustensiles font un peu défaut... (tout est neuf, sauf les casseroles et poêles...).

Left car there no problems at all. Shower floor quite slippery, could do with dishwasher tablets being left. These are not criticisms just stating what’s needed.

• Andrew (10/5): Very relaxing, very comfortable, beds are very good. Brilliant location. - Pretty much everything. Very clean, well, spotless actually. Perfect location, parking was a 3-4 minute walk, and secure. Instructions, guide to the property were very well laid out, and concise. The host could not have been more helpful. I would definitely go back, no hesitation. This isn’t a criticism, and it certainly didn’t affect us, however the internet/ broadband was not ideal. If you went as a family, I think it would be an issue. As I said, it’s not a personal criticism, but others may find different.
• Michael (10/5): Loved it, great few days would happily do it again - Fantastic location, town is a 5 minute walk away tops, bars and restaurants aplenty. There's a shop around the corner for essentials. Obviously the WW1 stuff is a 10 minute drive away
• Perry (10/5): Exceptional - Was quite spoilt with this property. Ideal location very close to the main square and other local amenities. Very clean and recently decorated to a high standard. Rooms were large, with comfortable beds, wardrobes, and towels provided. Large shower with toilet, and also a second toilet on the ground floor. Modern kitchen if we'd wanted to cook on site, comfortable lounge, with plenty of space to relax in Bernard, the host, was very welcoming, great communication throughout, and a really nice guy. Nothing was too much trouble. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best, but that wasn't down to the host!

• Steven (10/5): Absolutely brilliant find. Doubt there’s better in Ypres - Such a great find, I’m a perfect location for Ypres centre. Perhaps a 6-7 min walk to the Menin gate. The accommodation was newly refurbished and very modern. Added bonus of a downstairs WC and main bathroom which is great. Secure gate controlled parking a few hundred meters away. You get parking disc for short term local parking for loading and unloading. Bernard was very helpful via WhatsApp and then in person. We arrived early and he changed his plans to meet us and give us access for our bags and to the parking lot while the accommodation was still being cleaned. There is also secure storage for bikes, a huge TV, a well equipped kitchen. 10/10 couldn’t recommend more highly.

• Catherine (8/5): Good location, clean, spacious, lacking love and care. - Location and clean, very spacious and comfortable for 4 people. Very new. Did not feel very homey and welcoming, very impersonal : very few forks, very little shower gel (1small bottle for 4 people for 3 nights); no chair in bedroom to put things, shower door was dripping on the floor and wetting the floor; no minimal cooking oil or things, only 1 set of keys, the WiFi needed to be constantly reset, Netflix not connecting on WiFi; electric bulbs were randomly flicking. Those were not making the stay felt very cosy but the place was great with fab location, it just needs to be thought of as a living and loved place to make it special. We spent 3 nights and were comfortable.
• Chris (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent apartment well located and lovely and clean, the host was a lovely man and met us there and explained everything, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to book again. Just a few little niggles, as said before the shower door hasn't got a seal on it so leaks a bit and there could be slightly more in the way of utensils in the kitchen but apart from that it was perfect.
• Michelle (10/5): Such a beautiful and comfortable place to stay. - We had the most amazing stay at Peace Haven. Firstly we were met by the friendly host Dominique. He is so easy to talk to and gave us lots of information about the town and things to do. The accomodation was so comfortable with great furnishings from top to bottom. The shower was nice and large with great water temperature and pressure. The beds were super comfortable too. Heating/ Aircon in all rooms if needed. Walking distance to A lot of great things in town. I really Hope to return to Ypres and this accommodation again in the future. Small water overflow outside of shower.

• Carrie (10/5): Great Apartment in Ypres -- Definitely Would Stay Here Again! - This apartment was recently renovated / remodeled and totally beautiful. The beds were comfortable and everything was brand new. We'd recommend staying here for anyone doing a quick or long trip to Ypres. IT's a lovely Flemish Belgian town! I wish we could have done late checkout, but that was not allowed. We were basically rushed out of the room right at 1100 even after the manager said we could have an extra 30 minutes.

Property over two floors with fantastic bedrooms and bathroom on 1st floor. Secure gated parking a very short drive and 4 minute walk away. Fantastic location, a few minutes walk from Ypres centre, east to find and navigate from. Great value for money for a great property. Fantastic shower but unsealed door does allow water to leak through onto the bathroom floor. Dishwasher provided but no dishwasher tablets. Neither a game changer just being picky!
• Amy (9/5): I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone. - The apartment is brand new and pretty comfortable. It was nice to have a kitchen available. The rooms were very spacious. It is very centrally located. Bernard met me and gave me the keys, a tour and talked through any questions. If I could have a wish list it would be for access to a washing machine (that I would be happy to pay for), blankets in the downstairs, shelves in the shower and perhaps a comfy chair in the bedroom. Those are definitely not deal breakers. Just something that would make it more cozy and luxury.

• Jim (9/5): Peace Haven is modern, clean and centrally located. - Peace Haven lies within Ieper (Ypres) city walls. It's within a short waling distance to the city centre and most if not all the places to visit in the city. The apartment is new, modern, well equipped and most of all clean. Secure off street parking is provided less than 5 minutes walk from the apartment. There's not much to dislike. It works for me.
