Guest Reviews
- john (8/5): - Great food
- John (10/5): Delux unit was good quality and a pleasure to stay in - Delux unit was top end . Totally refurbished. New kitchenette and bathroom . Meals very nice.
Despite being on a busy thoroughfare. It was quiet . Very helpful staff Quite happy no complaints
- Gaylene (8/5): -
- Jennifer (5/5): Not for me. - Plenty of parking. The shared bathrooms are so run down as was the room we stayed in. The room smelt like foot odour and the duvet cover was stained with what looked like blood. The basin in the room was coming off the wall and the tap leaked but couldn’t be budged.
- Karen (7/5): - The staff were very helpful and friendly.
- Joel Michael (8/5): - Location, availability Disabled access, room not particularly clean
- Doreen (9/5): -
- Kath (4/5): - Grubby bathrooms
- Paul (7/5): For a regional town the accom in Lords Hotel was value. - The stay was good value for $$ spent, well located and the staff were helpful. We have no complaints
- Cathal (10/5): A fantastic stay - A wonderful place to stay. Staff were so friendly and everything was catered for
- Andy Issom (10/5): -
- Vjeko (1/5): Genuinely TERRBLE. Unsanitary. Plumbing broken. Lots of permament guests. - Cheap Leaky plumbing EVERYWHERE, in the shared toilets and in your room. DIRTY everywhere. Room window was really hard to close. A lot of permanent staff living in this place. A man walked into the female restroom and even though two of us yelled this is female restroom, he adamantly went in there anyway. Hallways poorly lit. My wife never felt safe in there. We are tolerant to a lot of things in hotels, but this one was the worst of our Tasmania experience. Yes, we know it was cheap, and it was STILL NOT WORTH IT.
- Dori (7/5): No frills budget stay - Great location for day trippin, walking around town and access to cafes and shops.
- Gavin (8/5): - Easy parking and great meals.
- Cheryl (8/5): Clean affordable accommodation - Location, great meal, friendly staff
- Cyril (2/5): -
- Jeanette (8/5): - Located close to shops. Large spacious bathroom. Comfy beds. Good hotel food. Overflow of water from shower to bathroom floor.
- Gordon (3/5): - Bed was comfy
price was appropriate on the low end budget style
cigarette smoke from smokers was always detected
noisy air conditioning on roof started up ever 5 min and outside road noise from trucks
you get what you pay for
- Gordon (3/5): - Very budget style accommodation
if your looking for cheap and not to fussy it's ok
you get what you pay for
- Jules (6/5): -
- marcelle (8/5): Loved it - The staff were lovely and so helpful, everything was clean, and I loved the warm, cosy atmosphere. Some of the cupboard doors in the kitchen needed fixing, the cold tap in the ladies bathroom was constantly dripping and the window in my bedroom was so, so stiff that I couldn't close it
- Cherie (8/5): -
- Craig (8/5): Basic but good price. Shared facilities. Have great meals. - Handy to the centre of Scottsdale. N/a
- Mark (6/5): -
- leonie (6/5): Ok for 1 night - Central Ground floor on main road
- paul (3/5): Poor for accommodation - Dirty and outside door was never closed properly
- Neil (7/5): Cheap & cheerful. - Good location, nice historic architecture & it’s a pub, good drinks & food on site, all for a very reasonable price. Bathrooms were at the other end of the building & there was a cool room compressor outside the bedroom window.
- Mary (6/5): Room for improvement - Carpark at the rear, good dinner, comfy bed, but very small basic room. I stayed in Room 15 & despite being told all rooms had WiFi, this one certainly didn't, it cut out along the corridor. The kitchen area was a mess; I recognise it is a budget hotel, but I expect a better standard even for budget prices.
- Julian (9/5): -
- Greg (9/5): all good - everything
- Joanne (10/5): - Everything environment,staff,food,weather Nothing
- Tim (7/5): -
- Carl (10/5): Great - Great location Nothing
- Gaylene (9/5): -
- Alison (1/5): - Friendly staff but room smelled like a wet dog had been living in it
- Roberto (4/5): Did the job would not stay there for more than one night! - Reasonable price $67 for the night (single room share bathroom). But I guess you get what you pay for: levels of cleanliness quite poor eg stained/sticky carpet in the room and corridors, general state of mild disrepair. Sprang mattress.
But for a single night in transit to the ferry it sort of did the job cheaply
- Ene (8/5): - Tore majutus eraldi majas.
See viib hinnangu paraku alla.
- WA Solo Traveller (8/5): - Lovely old fashioned service, locals love this place as evident by the patronage. Typical shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.
- Ann (8/5): -
- marcelle (7/5): Happy customer - Such a cosy little room and the bed was very comfortable. The owner trusted me to pay after my stay because I arrived late That there was no air-conditioning but then again, it was an old building.
- Paul (8/5): Beautiful room the second night and great motorbike ride to Launceston 🥰 - Except for a booking problem with us staying in a smaller room the first night we were very happy with the hotel and Ken was a amazing host, we will get back and enjoy the area again soon Just the problem with the booking process
- Sonia (7/5): Would stay again - Good place to stay for night. Staff kind enough to change us to a cooler room. Hot in shower wonderfully hot Not great having to go down hall to bathroom but cost of room was fine for what we needed
- Esa (8/5): -
- Xin (10/5): - Lifesaver as we couldn't find any place to stay before the flight. Staffs are very friendly. There are a shared kitchen which is a suprise. Value of money!
- Sarah (8/5): - Items from.previous guest in the room
- Christine (9/5): -
- Virginia (5/5): Shame upstairs wasn’t better as nice location - Location was good The property was dirty and very dated. The bathrooms was 2 one for ladies and one for men with 2 showers and 2 toilets between approximately 15 rooms. Downstairs was very well kept but upstairs was something else.
- Tai-Hua (5/5): -
- Olga (5/5): One night is more than enough -
- Margaret (5/5): -
- Lei (10/5): - 服务人员非常友好。房间很棒!
- Lorraine (4/5): We appreciated having a conenient place to stay. - The convenience of the location and overall set up in the en suite room. The lack of facilities in the Family Room which wasn't clearly stated in the description of the room - shared facilities. In the renovated deluxe room, the bathroom door had to be kept shut with a wedge. The water collected around the shower enclosure. The shower floor was dirty - we bought some bleach to use on it before we had our first shower. The handbasin sink wouldn't drain properly as it was filled with long hair, we emptied it. It was absolutely gross and had to be emptied for the basin to drain properly. It was very smelly. The pipes leaked under the sink. The kitchenette bench had not been wiped down. There were not enough cutlery or cups and no tea towel. The used sponge was dirty.
- Troy (8/5): - Room excellent. Food great. Barmaid appalling.
- Paula (8/5): -
- Linda (7/5): -
- john (5/5): - The bathroom has no lock on it, broken, and when I inform the staff they just came and told me to use a wooden/fibre piece to jam the door,(for closing the door) . As I was with my wife and my sister in law it is just weird with a wooden / fibre piece to lock the bathroom door .
- Deb (5/5): - Friendly staff.
Facilities not great! Kitchen not clean
- Rachel (8/5): Pleasantly surprised! Excellent accommodation in Scottsdale! - New, clean and with a really comfortable bed!
The shower in the ensuite is also excellent, one of the best hotel bathrooms ever!!
- Kerry (8/5): -
- Vicki (6/5): - No meals available. Only offered toasted sandwiches for dinner
- Julia Robertson (10/5): - .. .
- Brett (9/5): -
- Charles (3/5): Weary souls will not find any rest, only full bellies. - Good food and drinks.
Good hospitality. The place needs to be knocked down and rebuilt. Maintenance must be a nightmare.
- Claire (6/5): -
- Carl (10/5): - Great Place
- Kothari (8/5): - I don’t know why this property doesn’t have more positive reviews—it really deserves them. Yes, the place is older, but remember, you’re in Scottsdale, one of the oldest towns, and that charm is part of the experience. I’d suggest not focusing too much on the reviews—just go, check out the place yourself, and if you like it, book at the reception. Totally your choice, but I would 100% recommend staying there and enjoying the experience. I stayed for two nights and truly enjoyed it. Go for it.
A special mention to the bar downstairs—I was lucky enough to be there on 24 December 2025 for Christmas Eve, and the vibe was something truly special. The atmosphere, the people, and the Christmas spirit felt so different and beautiful. I absolutely loved Scottsdale and its people.
Thank you, Scottsdale, for the lovely memories. The kitchen should be better, it's not bad at all

- Tony (8/5): -
- Isabelle (4/5): -
- Jenkins (9/5): -

- Marlene (7/5): -
- Kenneth (6/5): -
- Gavin (9/5): -
- Heather (7/5): -
- Vincenzo Mauro (9/5): - Didn't try the breakfast, but the owner of the place was a super cool guy None
- NGUYEN (2/5): - Very poor and old Not clean
- Shane (9/5): Friendly pub, good vibes - Friendly hotelier and staff, over sized delicious meals and the location in a very interesting town. Nice warm room with electric blankets as well. It really matters. The weather was terrible which is not the fault of the hotel, but gave them a chance to shine. The meals were TOO big!
- Helen (9/5): Excellent value. -
- Satsuki (8/5): - The electric heat blanket for the bed. Nice friendly staff at the bar. The cheapest accommodation in the area with own room and shared common spaces kitchen and bathroom. It was not too bad but, you will hear noise from the hallway, the bar, or the road.
- Dominique (9/5): overnight stay very economical very comfortable - lovely old original pub
- Loretta (9/5): - Owners very obliging, friendly. Meals were very good. Staff friendly. Nothing not to like.
- Debbie (10/5): Great hotel for both meals & accommodation. - Great Hotel. Delicious meals, comfy beds, friendly staff.
You can’t go wrong …. Ohhh AND … electric blankets on the beds. Nothing, it was great.
- Chris (9/5): A great place to stay for a very comfortable stay; will stay there again. - This was our third stay at this hotel. It is always very clean and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and the meals in the dining room are always good. Nothing
- Péone (7/5): -
- Suzette (8/5): Very good -
- Metcher (8/5): Very good - Central location made for an easy walk around town. The room was simple, but comfortable and the off street parking was convenient.
- Tim (7/5): No frills, A decent room in a country pub - Clean, warm room, decent meal in the pub. N/a
- Glennis (8/5): Very good -
- Judith (6/5): An oldie, but a goodie..If you can accept that you will share a bathroom, this property is good value for money. - The price. The cosy room and clean bed. Don’t like having to leave my room to go to the bathroom. However, for this price, I put up with it.
- Livio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurence (8/5): That is a good building to stay in and is close to many good places in that town to see. - That was a very good location in Scottsdale to stay in. The room was very good and walking around the town was really interesting to see.
- Helen (8/5): Just sad I left my iPhone charger in the room😢 -
- Frederick (7/5): Good - Bed and bathroom clean and comfortable No water available in the kitchen. Rubbish not emptied in 2 days we were there.
- Sharren (5/5): Convenient but they need better beds. - It was in a convenient location for the activity I had planned. I don’t think the room had been cleaned that well, the bed was old and saggy and one of the pillow slips was not clean and smelt so I put the towel over it to lie on it…also the floor wasn’t vacuumed
Tried to use the guest kitchen up stairs and there was no water, the taps didn’t work…with lots of signs around to say to wash up your dishes after use where was the water???
- Lisa (7/5): Good - It was a short walk to visit our family. The traffic noise.
- Josh (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, good and overall good value.
- Vivienne (7/5): This was a good location for us and generally facilities were fine. - N/A Decor. Bedspreads were difficult to manage and not very attractive. The cutlery in the room was very limited. However the facilities in general were very good for older or disabled people with good ramps and bars where needed.
Location was very suitable and most facilities were fine. Staff were friendly and helped out with information.
