Guest Reviews
- Alek (3/5): - w nocy jest cudownie czyste górskie powietrze przez telefon - nerwowa gospodyni!

- Nicholas (9/5): Very friendly family-run guesthouse - The hosts were extremely welcoming and friendly, and made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. They cooked a delicious dinner, with large portions - perfect after a day of hiking, and well worth the price! The shower wasn't very warm, but the bathroom facilities were clean. We did have a bit of trouble finding the guesthouse as there is no sign.
- Petros (3/5): Poor - Unfortunately, when we arrived from a road that is in a river that was difficult to pass by motorbike, we were told that due to a booking error, there is no room... :-)
- Alexandra (3/5): Poor - Close to the Valbona-Theth trail The room was not clean, spiderwebs and dust everywhere. The property is Hard to find - there is only a small sign that leads you at wrong road. Mark seems that he was not event aware that we are coming. The food is way too overprized, you can have a big meal in one of the close restaurants for a half.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - The price is ok for the room itself although the room is very old. The host does charge a lot for food (dinner, lunch, breakfast) and this makes the accommodation more expensive in total than you'd expect. The price to quality ratio is not good if you eat at the accommodation.
- Geernaert (10/5): Exceptional - amazing people. so caring. my friend and I arrived very sick from parasites from Kosovo and Mark took us in and did everything he could to make us feel at home and get back to health to walk to Theth
- Ike (8/5): Very good - Mark was very welcoming and served great rakia. Simple but nice food. Hot showers. Portions of the food were a bit small after a long hike.
- Seol (8/5): Very good -
- Claudia (7/5): Good - The property was beautiful, picturesque amazing views. The bed was comfortable. The property was very close to the start of the hike, only needed to walk about 10-15 minutes. The food was delicious but I think overpriced for what it was. 5€ for breakfast, 12€ lunch, 15€ dinner and 7€ for a lunch pack. Just a bit hard because there really aren’t any other options around you. The room itself is cheap but then ended up spending a lot on food. Mark also had offered to take us to a waterfall for free the next day, I reiterated ‘free’ to be sure because he said normally he would charge 18€ each which we simply couldn’t afford. As we went to pay the next day he had charged us 20€ for this journey. I argued and said we wouldn’t have gone on the journey if it costed. He got miffed and it was just an unwholesome end to a wholesome time.
- Żołędziewska (10/5): Exceptional - I recommend the place very much - amazing location with a great view, traditional stone house, nice owners
- Taylor (9/5): Superb - despite not speaking much English the owner was incredibly hospitable on a beautiful little Albanian section beneath the mountains. He and his wife cooked great traditional meals and dropped us at the start of the hike. A little bit hard to find but we got there in the end.
- Nele (6/5): Pleasant - Good place to start the Valbonë to Theth hike. It's a 25 minute walk from the house to the start of th trail.
Nice views from the house.
Bathroom was okay and clean.
Price for the dinner was €15 per person.
Price for lunch packet for the hike was €5 per person.
We couldn't really find the entry to their property but some neighbours helped us. The bed wasn't really to our liking because we felt the springs but that is different for everyone.
They don't really speak English very well but they videocall their daughter to help and translate or google translator. That's why there was a miscommunication about 'driving us to the start of the trail'. How he explained it, it seemed he wanted to drop us of. Later with the payment (room and food) he said he normally charged €40 for a drive up to the starting point but will do it for €25 this time. For other people it was be an okay amount to pay but we decided to walk.
- Daniel (10/5): Be sure not to miss this guesthouse if you are nearby, absolutely must go 👌 - Very very kind host, great hospitality and environment. He did not have problem arranging transport for us. We had a delicious dinner and breakfast (and a welcome rakija for free) with breathtaking views. The location is perfect for hikes in mountains. Everything was perfect.
- Moniiiquee (10/5): An authentic home stay we'll never forget - What can I say... what an experience! We knew going in this was a home-stay style of accommodation, not a hotel - and it ended up being the best place we stayed in Albania! It was authentic, comfortable and Mark and his family are beautiful people - warm, welcoming and incredibly accommodating. The food was standout - you pay a bit extra, but boy is it worth it. Home cooked, local food.
We were very comfortable. The room was cute, and the view of the mountains from the porch was the perfect backdrop to our meals. The bathroom is shared, no issue for us. The shuttle bus from the ferry dropped us at the top of the driveway, and it's about a 10-min walk on shale and up a small hill - nice and secluded, not strenuous at all and the perfect starting point for the hike to Theth. Nothing
