• Jeroen (7/5): Terug in de tijd, een ervaringi - De sfeer is als in een echt kasteel. Prachtige stijlkenmerken. Erg grote kamer. Personeel is erg aardig en laten je eerst alles zien wat nodig is om te weten. Er is geen restaurant maar je kan wel een diner bestellen. De capaciteit daarvan is voor een paar personen dus informeer er naar. In de kamer is geen kraan. Badkamer is voor jezelf, maar bevindt zich iets verderop in het gebouw. Toilet is dan weer ergens anders. Kamerdeur kon niet op slot in mijn geval

• Jean Claude (8/5): Très belle expérience dans ce merveilleux château ! Première fois. - Très bel emplacement géographique, de la nature à profusion ! Les propriétaires sont très gentils, investis, chaleureux. On se croirait à la maison et envie de revenir : c'est important. Le petit déjeuner copieux et bon. Il y a de quoi, on a vraiment pas faim après :) Séjour, vacances à recommander ! On est situé non loin de très belles villes, sites, visites à faire.. Un résumé sur l'histoire du château situé à l'entrée pourrait être bien afin de mieux connaître celui-ci.

Beste, zuvorkommende Betreuung. Ein Ort also für Gäste, die es als grossen Luxus erachten, im geschichtsträchtigen Gemäuer ebenso als Freunde, wie auch als geschätzte Gäste, betreut zu werden. Ist auch für Eltern, die mit ihren Kindern etwas gediegenes, nicht aber protziges suchen, perfekt! Es gibt ein schönes Familienzimmer. Gerne kommen wir wieder und wir werden bestimmt auch das Schwester-Château Laclaireau demnächst besuchen.

• Mirjam (8/5): Rustig slapen op een groot chateau met vriendelijke gastheer in wandelomgeving. - Zeer vriendelijke gastheer, ik had laat geboekt maar het was geen enkel probleem, hij maakte meteen alles in orde. Gaf ook tips over de omgeving. De kamer was groot, goed verwarmd, heerlijk stil. Lekker groot, schoon bed. In de buurt kun je heerlijk wandelen in het bos, op een klein stukje rijden ligt een rondwandeling om de rivier de Lesse, die is prachtig. De badkamer was op een andere verdieping. Het ontbijt was erg uitgebreid, met bijv. verse broodjes en allerlei soorten beleg, yoghurtjes, sap en koffie, maar een eitje erbij en bruin brood zou extra heerlijk zijn.

• Thomas (7/5): Un séjour (un peu trop rustique) au château - Le bâtiment est beau, original et authentique. Le parc autour est fort agréable. Le propriétaire est charmant et accueillant. Cela rattrape certains désagréments. Le lit est confortable. La salle de bain “privative” se situe en dehors de la chambre. Les toilettes sont partagées (et pas très propres en fin de journée…). C’est peut-être logique pour un château mais nous n’en avions pas conscience. Devoir traverser un couloir en pleine nuit pour aller aux toilettes, ou devoir mettre du papier sur la lunette des toilettes avant de s’asseoir, c’est bof bof.

Eigen nette badkamer en toilet op de gang met badjas op de kamer maakt het speciaal. Goed bed. Grote kasteelkamer mooi zicht. Prachtige tuin, gezellig ontbijt, sympathieke gastheer. Er zijn van 4 kamers beschikbaar, dat maakt het zo rustig en persoonlijk.

The room was spacious, spotless and beautifully designed, and the atmosphere felt calm and welcoming from the moment I arrived. Michel was an exceptional host, kind, relaxed and always ready to help with a smile. He truly made me feel at home. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of fresh options, and the location was perfect for exploring while still feeling peaceful. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t enjoy. • Joni (9/5): Een charmant kasteel met een zeer vriendelijke gastheer. - Vriendelijke gastheer, propere kamers en heerlijk ontbijt. Door de grote ruimtes was het best koud ‘s avonds. De kachel zorgde voor de nodige warmte.

De verhouding tussen de prijs en de kwaliteit is uitstekend. Het is een no nonsense verblijf met allure. Alles klopte voor ons. We hebben een mooie tijd gehad in het prachtig ondergesneeuwde Ardennen. Een echte aanrader! Niets!

Super delicious home made croissants at breakfast. This is not a complaint; but future guest should realise that toilet and shower with sinks are outside the room, however they are room appointed, so NOT shared.

• Caroline (8/5): Warm onthaal en comfortabel verblijf bij Château de Porcheresse. - We werden heel goed, hartelijk ontvangen en voelden ons meteen welkom. Het ontbijt voldeed aan onze verwachtingen, was verzorgd en lekker. De kamer was precies zoals beschreven, comfortabel en sfeervol. Het enige kleine minpunt was dat de badkamer zich niet op hetzelfde verdiep bevond als de kamer, dit wisten we op voorhand en was dus geen verrassing.

• Caroline (8/5): Overnight stay! - We arrive on a very damp, grey early evening on our motorbikes, so were cold! The host Michel, was very welcoming and friendly and helped us make sure the bikes were parked securely and then helped us take our motorcycle gear in. The accomodation, a lovely remote chateau had deco as you would expect, lots of period paintings and furniture. The bedroom was very spacious. The bed was comfortable and room was quiet, with lovely views over the grounds. We went for a walk around the village to stretch our legs, when we got back Michel had lit the fire in the 1st floor lounge, which was across from our bedroom to warm us up. We had complimentry robes and slippers in our room (as the bathroom and toilet were both on the next floor up!) The door to the room didn't really lock as the key kept getting stuck, as there was only us and one other couple there, we didn't worry about locking it! It had a private bathroom but not toilet, Which were both on the next floor up! This (as we have since experienced) is quite normal.

Ambiance musée avec beaucoup de meubles anciens et de tableaux. Accueil très sympa (avec conseils de sortie bien utile suite à déception au village du livres de Redu très appauvri). salon vaste et confortable. Environnement très verdoyant. Toilettes au fond du couloir et salle de bain à l'étage au-dessus. Nous ne sommes plus habitués à cette rusticité. Le prix à payer pour loger dans un château.

• Frank (10/5): spa feeling with character for me and space for my kids to wiggle - You can tell there is a lot of heart in this chateau. It is run by a man and his kind (adult) daughter. She can speak English and French and he speaks French and Dutch. There was a lovely breakfast for us each morning with candlelight which my daughters loved, and we ate at a time no one else did so my girls had a bit more wiggle room. The far neighbours have a cow farm which was nice to entertain the children during breakfast. There is a playground outside and a large field to play in, inside there are boardgames and beautiful traditional wooden games. The children were spoiled for choice here. I was a little apprehensive about the shared bathroom I had read on booking.com, but was happily surprised when we were shown a very modern private shower with multiple jets and a sink just for your room located one floor away with it's own bathrobes, more like a spa feeling. It was fantastic, there was character for me and space for my city kids to entertain and wiggle. I would definitely go back again when I am in the area.

• Mark (10/5): Inspiring stay at a family castle - In over a month travelling round Belgium, I think this was the stay that I liked the most. It’s a real castle, rebuilt after WWI in a tragic story that you’ll hear when you come! It has loads of period furniture, gilt-framed paintings etc yet while very comfortable, you are staying very much “en famillle” with Michel and his family who live here. The vibe is very relaxed – there’s a great breakfast provided, games to play including Petanque in the grounds which are pretty and extensive without being manicured. If you’re travelling anywhere in this area it’s well worth diverting to stay here, especially mid-week when things tend to be relatively quiet. Prices rise a fair bit at weekends making the place less competitive.
• Nikoletta (9/5): Great experience for a good price - Great accommodation in an old chateau, good atmosphere, historic vibe, nice interior details but also has a kind of hostel feeling with the external bathroom, which in our case was not even on the same floor but it was dedicated to our room, so other guests have not used it. There is a nice backyard terrace (shared) with endless views on the surrounding hills, it was very pleasant to chill there, while playing petanque and drinking a glass of wine. The owner/host was very kind also. Breakfast is simple but nicely served on a long old set table. Location is good as well, a lot of hiking options nearby, however the village itself is quite quiet, nothing really happens there. Nothing.
