• Dilara (7/5): Ok for two nights - Perfekte Lage Gute Zimmergröße im Dorm Großes Bad in jedem dorm Bett musste selber bezogen werden (bei dem Preis aber ok) Keine Handtücher Schrank war innen dreckig und wurde nicht gewischt (da muss was ausgelaufen sein) Schimmel im Bad am Föhn und an der Türklinke ist echt eklig und könnte entfernt werden. Bin mir auch nicht sicher, ob die slipper jemals geputzt und desinfiziert werden.

• Amira (7/5): - The beds were insane — soooooo comfy!!! The soap and shampoo in the rooms was incredible (smells so so good — bit random to add but it was just so nice!) The town is small so it’s about a 5 minute walk from the bus stop and from every other thing to do in the area :) We really wanted to stay somewhere with a view but unfortunately almost everything around is being built up so it’s all covered by other buildings :( — I would still highly recommend this place but you only really get a decent-ish view from the top floor

• Isabel (9/5): No mountain views as described in Booking - The staff was great, nice and helpful, they also have a beautiful cat! Big and confortable room. Bit disappointed with the booking because we booked a room with mountain view and we were given a room with building works in front, they were very nice and quickly offered a room with views but they charged extra fee. I have claimed this difference to booking as I find it unfair because I didn’t get what I booked. For the moment, Booking has’t given me any proper answer and I believe that money is lost so careful if the views are important for you, maybe spend more money in another place to avoid issues.

They go above and beyond to help with everything—whether it’s travel tips, local food recommendations, or just making sure you feel at home. Their energy is infectious, and you can tell they genuinely care about every guest. They made my stay smooth, fun, and unforgettable. If you’re passing through Xinping, Pomelo Hostel isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s an experience, largely because of these two amazing guys. Can’t recommend it enough!

• Maren (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay at Pomelo Hostel. The rooms are spacious with a comfy bed, daily room keeping and fresh, fluffy towel everyday. Free laundry machine on the roof, well equipped common area where it's easy to hang out and meet fellow travellers..some community events like hikes etc organized by hostel staff. Amazing value for money, this hostel has it all. Definitely recommended.

• Ricardo (9/5): Good hostel close to the most important Xingping attraction. - It is close to the main Xingping attraction, that is the 20 yuan mountains scenic site. By vlose I mean a nice 15 minutes walking. It is also very close to the ancient city and it’s beautiful streets.

Even though I didn't speak Chinese they where able to help me and I was also able to join a activity which was easily the highlight of my trip There was loads of construction going on in the area. Of course something they can not do anything about.

I found the wifi a bit hit and miss on 3rd floor, and although smoking is not allowed, a lot of smoke was getting into my room somehow on one evening/morning.

• Ilya (10/5): Great place! - We took a family room in the hostel, it's same as a regular hotel room. There is a big beautiful lobby and an international community! The hostel is new, it is no more than a year old. The design of our room was minimalistic, the wooden bed, high ceilings and large windows, wow! Also a private balcony! The view from our window and balcony is of the mountains. We asked for the highest floor so we could see the authentic rooftops of the houses below. Fabulous view!

I made friends immediately upon arrival and spent basically my entire first night there singing Taylor Swift songs with the hostel owner :) 100% recommend!
• Sung (10/5): Exceptional - It is the best hostel I have stayed at in China. I want to give it more than 10 points if it is possible. It was super clean throughout. The lady working as manager had a native-speaker level of English proficiency as she came to China after living in Boston, US. She was so nice and tried to help me in every way. Its location is perfect as the bus station is only five minute walk away. Its price is higher than other hostels in the same area. But it is worth the higher price.

This was our first time in China and she helped us with so many things that we needed help with at the start of a holiday in a new country. She spoke English very well which was great because we don’t know any Chinese and gave us a lot of useful advice . The hostel has a lovely reception area with a welcoming atmosphere full of nice personal touches and we were made to feel at home. The rooms and facilities are excellent and the location is ideal. A very nice place, brandy new, nice common área, a the best, its people. Leo was a friendly and knowledgeable guy, and always happy and helpful. The place is near the main streets. • Sophia.chung (9/5): Best hostel in town - Jackie, the owner, was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and travel. She speaks fluent English so foreigners will have no problem. The hostel is only 3 months old so the property is very new and clean. The photos are accurate to the property. Beds are very cozy. The hostel hosts activities too so you'll always have something to do. Movie night is a total vibe. The location is a 5min walk from both the bus station and the xinping ancient town. Almost changed my itinerary to try coming back to see Jackie one more time before I left the country. My only trouble was the wifi connectivity. It wasn't strong. Would not recommend if you need wifi to do work. But my electronic devices weren't connecting very well to any wifi in the area. Take it how you will.
