Guest Reviews
- June (10/5): Just wonderful . Thanks heaps. - The units are obviously being updated. My double bed was wonderful but my daughters bed had wires protruding and she had a disturbed sleep. The fire was super - just a little more smaller wood to get it going.
The proximity to the shop, restaurant, and beginnings of the walks and wonderful info on the history was a bonus.
Incredible*
I was totally grateful when we arrived a day early (my mishap)and the amazing manager said 'Its ok we can arrange an early arrival' "Thank you again'
We had a super evening at the restaurant with our dear friend John Learmont - a passionate Bunya Mountain Hero.
Thanks heaps - We're spruking 'The beautiful Bunyas and the Bunya Tavern complex (Management and Staff) My daughter's bed. There's very little to dislike.
- Hooper (8/5): Very comfortable. Staff very friendly. - Very close to national park. Resturant and general store good.

- Naomi (9/5): Exceeded our expectations. - Lovely log fire and firewood was provided. Great value for money.
- shona (10/5): Perfect spot - Lovely roomy and had everything you would need, brilliant fireplace, comfy beds and a great location to the walks.

- Stephen (10/5): -
- annette (7/5): Enjoyable space, friendly staff & good meals made sibling catchup more enjoyable - Space for living / dining/kitchen room. Toilet and shower rooms separate. great location, Staff responsiveness were helpful. 3 people staying for 2 nights - only 2 individual breakfast cereal packs.
Kindling for fireplace was insufficient in type and amount. Logs and paper were good.

- Ashley (10/5): The bunya mountains are a must see and the Tavern is an ideal way to visit. - The Tavern accomodation is right in the National park and a few steps to the trails, parkland and restaurant. The room was comfortable and affordable. I highly recommend staying a the Tavern accommodation if visiting Bunya mountain. We will definitely be back. The restaurant is closed Monday night but you can buy provisions to cook dinner or have have late lunch (which is what we did).
- Jen (7/5): - Great location- close to trails.

- Evans (8/5): - All you need for a weekend away.. close to the Tavern and shop. Close to bush walks. Very nice spot. Only thing was could of been done was lawn mowed but due to recent rain. It probably couldn't of been mowed.
- bruce (10/5): - Close to walking tracks, lots of birds close by, rooms large clean , bed was comfortable 👌
- Rachel (8/5): - A beautiful location, lovely views from our room. Central to the tavern, general store and Cafe. Only a short walk to the walking tracks. Not much to do for an only child unless you bring your own games etc. Poor TV/internet reception. Great for adults not kids.
- Tina (10/5): - It was very clean and tidy and perfect for what we needed for the night
- Sil (10/5): -
- Tania (10/5): Wonderful weekend - That the staff were very helpful. Nothing was an inconvenience Nothing
- Gary (7/5): -
- Michele (9/5): - The Bunya Mountains are spectacular. This is the time of year when bunya cones are falling out of the trees which was great to witness. The walks are well maintained and it was wonderful to wander amongst the huge trees - Bunya and Hoop pines. We've been there before and will definitely be back!
- Holliman (8/5): - Clean, easy checkin, good local shop and cafe/restaurant/bar Some equipment in room, eg kettle and toaster on last legs, but worked.
- Marcus (7/5): Beautiful place and friendly staff - Beautiful place and friendly staff Housekeeping was just a little lax. Old towel left in the bathroom, bin lid was grubby and no coffee supplied in the room. Other than that it is a great place
- Gary (4/5): Great place to visit - Great location Room desperately needs a makeover,no air conditioning

- Christine (8/5): Amazing, we will return 🤗 - We ate at Poppies for breakky food and service was excellent. Tables needed wiping down, they were all in need of a clean. The tavern and coffee shop were excellent. Can’t wait to return. We stayed in an apartment. The bedrooms back onto each other and you can hear everything in each others bedrooms. We had to move to the single bed room as our neighbour snored so loud we couldn’t sleep.
- Tony (10/5): -
- JULIE (7/5): Good location with access to shop, dining and bar. - The units were roomy and comfortable. All beds had electric blankets. We booked 3 units with fireplaces. As only one unit had aircon we thought the fireplace would keep us warm on a cold, wet and windy weekend. Unfortunately the wood supplied did not burn. We kept putting on the kindling but the wood did not catch fire. This left the units, without aircon, extremely cold. There was a small oil heater which was useless in a large room.
- Jess (10/5): Lasting memories will last a wonderful lifetime - It was wonderful
- Annette (8/5): - Central to everything, quiet and all you need in the room. Only disappointment was dinner at the Tavern Saturday night it was just alright.
- Keighley (9/5): - fan is the room was very noisy
- Keith (8/5): - No aircon
- Manuel (10/5): Spacious unit and great location - The two-bedroom unit was spacious and had everything we'd expect: a kitchen, a living room, a dining area, etc. More importantly, it was in a great location.
- Wessel (10/5): Bunya Mountains is a must see. It's beautiful. Cozy accommodation. - The stay was near several walking trails. The food at the tavern was great and lunch at the shop across the street was fantastic. Feeding the birds was a great experience. The walking trails are a sight to see, well worth a visit. We should have stayed longer. The construction activities in the area did take away some of the splendor, but overall still a great stay. Our neighbours were noisy, but within reasonable times - very quite after 10pm.

- FoxeeMuso (7/5): My homebody son loved it 🤷🏻♀️💗 - All of it! Having enough room to have a few family members join us for lunch (we stayed Christmas Day) - the view - waking up to birds Some very minor maintenance needed (drawer in main bedroom, some skirting board. Oh - and the unexpected water feature during the storm on Christmas Eve (the pipe out from became a geyser). Honestly, though - these are very small things - the main thing we didn't like was having to leave!
- Nicky (7/5): - The location couldn’t be better, close to everything. We enjoyed our stay here immensely and will definitely be back
- Stephanie (7/5): -
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Jodi (9/5): - The serenity of it all
- Sally (8/5): - Unit was spacious and comfortable. Water hammer sound in main bedroom every time a tap was used in either unit. No useful outside area.
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Karen (10/5): -
- Fred (10/5): - Great location. Parks in the vicinity are being upgraded and are fenced off, lots of noisy machinery spoiling the peace and quiet.
- Donna (10/5): -
- Lewis (10/5): -
- Doug (8/5): -
- David (7/5): - The cereal breakfast was adequate. I used the heater, which warmed the room well. I also used the electric jug and microwave. I expected an air conditioner and the ceiling fan was noisy so I only used it on the lowest setting
- jennifer (10/5): Wonderful - Gorgeous location. Everything top notch
- Nichola (6/5): Hit and miss - There was a lot to like! The rooms were cosy and quiet, the bed was comfortable. The property itself had beautifully maintained gardens, birds everywhere chirping in the mornings. I felt like Snow White. The manager of the pub and the young man who were working on Saturday night were so kind and welcoming, and in general we received the warmest and most helpful welcome. They went above and beyond. After check-out we went to the pub for breakfast, we went to sit out the back however there were no shade umbrellas up bar one. We decided to sit out the front. We went in to order and the person behind the counter told us we couldn’t sit out there because it was ‘technically a part of the shop out the front’.
Mind you, the same woman who was working the restaurant last night was in the shop this morning and did tell us they were all owned by the one family - so he was doing this because he wanted to, not because it actually mattered.
We asked that he put the shade umbrellas up if we have to sit out there, and he did, after a sigh and an ‘ok’ - he put one up that was right next to the only other people who were eating there and another that still left the chairs in direct sunlight. The UV index was already at 6 and I don’t want skin cancer so we sat at the only seat in the shade.
When we sat down, both of us sat in large amounts of water that had pooled on the seats. My friend went inside to tell the man and he didn’t apologise, or even seem mildly concerned that he had failed to do what I know to be a basic part of working at any food venue, check the seats for the customers.
We were absolutely drenched and unable to enjoy a meal, and when I went inside to ask for a refund he was quite disgruntled and was obviously out of joint that we didn’t want to stay. No apology, no smile, not an ounce of kindness or customer service.
It really is such a shame, because everything else was lovely, and we left on such a bad note. The man on the counter today really desperately needs retraining - he does not deliver anything close to the standard of service that everyone else we encountered at this venue does - and it’s a real disappointment.

- Sandy (8/5): -
- Louise (8/5): Very relaxing for a short stay close to Bunyas facilities. - Well situated with basic comforts for a short stay. Fridge didn’t have a freezer section.
- Adelle (6/5): Great place to visit. Lots to see and do. We may stop here again. - The bunya mountains are a beautiful location. Tavern on site had very generous and reasonably priced meals. Can cater for a coeliac. Our meals were delicious. Make sure you book!
On site general store has well stocked but limited range of essentials. Make sure you take what you need. No fuel on site. Cabins right next to the road so lots of noise from the locals coming and going. Other guests were noisy, including a domestic dispute. Units could use some love, checking lights work etc.
- Shane (5/5): Tavern restaurant is a must do, surrounded by construction and closures very disappointing - The tavern was very nice, the food delicious and well priced, the accommodation not being air conditioned was a surprise but the breeze was nice We should have been told that the information centre was closed, 4 tracks were closed and area around the tavern a construction zone
- Bowie (10/5): -
- Han (7/5): We stayed for only 1 night so didnt mind when the facilities in the bedrooms didnt work. - The location, the fireplace, the space was big The bedside table lights, the electric heater, the electric blankets, all the powerpoints didn't work.
- Laura (10/5): Very relaxing and quiet with Nature and lots of birds. - Everything was perfect. Lovely people and food was top. We had a great time. Accommodation was affordable, fireplace and heaters supplied. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. Once I told the owner he said they were going through the accommodation to upgrade the beds. I was glad to hear it. I will go back. It's beautiful there.💛
- Jenny (8/5): It was our first visit to the area and we were pleasantly surprised by what was available. - We were there for a wedding, our room was within easy walking distance to the restaurant and also to the wedding reception area. It was clean and tidy and served our purpose for being there perfectly. Really couldn't say that there was anything to dislike.
- Breeanne (9/5): A good spot next to the tavern with shop on site. - Quiet location. We were topped up with timber for the fire in the morning which was appreciated. Both encounters with front of house staff were great. Beds aren’t overly comfortable.
- David (8/5): -
- Cheryl (8/5): -
- Prue (8/5): Excellent value and an enjoyable stay. - Great quiet location next to the tavern which has excellent meals. We loved the log burner which made the living room very cosy. Well appointed kitchen for self-catering and very helpful staff. Air conditioning would be a welcome addition.
- Craig (9/5): -
- Anne-Marie (10/5): -
- Kirsten (8/5): Loved it and will be back. Your thoughtful little add ons like timber and kindling and heated blankets were great. - Convenience and small business vibe Update your decorative cushions and occasional rugs and the whole unit will look more modern.
- Head (8/5): We had a wonderful weekend,,and will probably go back sometime in the future,, - Great location, good restaurant. No WiFi,was broken
- Kirkby (9/5): A beautiful setting! - Central to walks, restaurant and general stall. Two heaters and an electric blanket to cater for the cooler weather and friendly staff. Nothing really - just a bit old but still comfortable.
- Karen (10/5): Fabulous stay and staff! - Great accommodation. Staff were super helpful. Dinner at the restaurant was a fabulous experience. Again the staff looked after us well! Fridge in the room was leaking but not a biggie. The staff helped us with extra towels etc..

- Angelina (9/5): - The location was beautiful and very comfortable accommodation. The staff were so friendly and super helpful with everything we needed.
- Lesley (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Edward (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (7/5): we enjoyed our few days in the Bunya’s but were disappointed that we had construction around us - Bunya National Park is a hikers dream. We did love some of the walks. The main area is under major renovations & the information & tourist centres are all closed. We were not aware that the area around the Bunya Tavern were undergoing construction work & a lot of the views from the Tavern are impacted as well public amentities. The walks near this area are also closed & also those to most of the tracks to the waterfalls. Maybe if we had known that a lot of the area of this N.P. was under reconstruction we may have planned our stay differently especially feel we were compromised around the Bunya Tavern where we stayed with heavy machinery & noise.
