- Angelo (10/5): -
- Stefan (10/5): -
- Suzana (10/5): A beautiful escape in the forest with attention to detail in every room, felt like a storybook - Location was serene. The property was amazing, so beautifully styled with the collection of antiques, attention to detail. Cosy and immaculately clean. Pete the host was super friendly as was his dog Beni.
- B. (9/5): -
- Tom (9/5): - The forest location has many small towns with amazing restaurants and cafes nearby. It was less than an hour's drive from Richmond. The owner was clear to point out discrepancies between the booking.com text and what was on offer (two properties, main property has features listed. Nothing
- Val (10/5): Lovely place to hide away for the weekend. - The location was very special. Private amongst the bush. Loved the bird song in the morning.
- Michael (10/5): -
- Craig (10/5): - This property and it's location is incredible - the hosts provided detailed information that supported us throughout our stay without the need to follow up on anything. Their recommendations for walks and food throughout was not only useful, but were spot on (excellent food) and really encouraged us to explore the region. The details, from the artwork to the cushions and throw rugs, make this accommodation stand out - it was warm, cosy, safe, and friendly. Loved our stay! Thank you!
- Haroon (10/5): We loved our stay at the cottage and made wonderful memories. - The cottage was very clean and loved the fireplace. Everything was great.
- Deanna (10/5): -
- Sara (8/5): A stylish, peaceful and comfortable stay in a great location. - This place was beautifully designed, thoughtfully styled and comfortable. The heated bathroom floors and cosy fireplace made it feel extra welcoming and the location was great - close to everything we needed and just minutes from Sherbrooke Falls walk. We stayed in the writers studio and would stay again. Only small drawbacks - the bed was only a double, there was a strong smell on arrival (possibly from cleaning products) and we missed out on meeting the dog.
- Tayla (10/5): Beautiful little stay here in the hills. Very mystical and stunning. The cottage is incredible, so clean, cosy & we -
- Kaczmarek (9/5): Superb - Design of the space and location was amazing I understand that the studio doesn’t have a full kitchen, but it would be great to have some plates and cutlery available if there’s a mini fridge and microwave. Just a small suggestion for an upgrade.
- Bernie (8/5): Very good - Great location and a very good venue All ok
- Steven (9/5): Wonderful winter weekend in The Writers Studio and would highly recommend for all couples needing a relaxing reset. - Beautiful cottage surrounded by magnificent trees. Stunning decor and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely for a winter weekend. Plenty of kindling and wood for the open fire which added to the ambience.
- Marian (10/5): So good we want to go back. - Beautiful location. Stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage with my daughter. Spotlessly clean. Had a fully equipped kitchen. Comfy lounge. Lovely and warm. Decor was perfect, so much thought went into it. Happily recommend it to anyone.
- Anthony (7/5): Good -
- Anne (8/5): Great surrounds and comfortable cottage - The location of Dingleigh made our ability to enjoy the Dandenongs easy and straight forward with so many walks, gardens and eateries within an easy radius. The cottage was exceptionally clean and the bed very comfortable.
Instructions for the locale and things to do were well described. Too few places to hang and dry bath towels
- Kerryn (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful spot. Gorgeous, cosy cottage with everything you need. Would love to stay again.
- Tracey (9/5): Beautiful break in lovely surroundings - Attention to detail, opulence of furniture and fittings Would’ve really appreciated plates, although I was aware there wouldn’t be any, ahead of the stay. Maybe an outside sink for washing up could avoid the need for one inside?
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fay (10/5): Really enjoyed the studio, location and comfort. If in Victoria we will come again. - Great location amongst beautiful old trees and ferns. Whisper quiet. Quaintness of the writers studio and matching old worldly furnishings and decor was second to none. Nothing.
- Srecko (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (7/5): Miss Marple would love the place. - Perfect location. Loved the fireplace inside and the firepit outside. Beautiful property. Benny the dog was a fantastic host. The furniture creates a lovely aesthetic. We couldn’t get the espresso machine to work, could be user error though. Maybe some instructions for the coffee machine could help?
- Brendan (10/5): Lovely weekend retreat. After a busy and demanding few weeks it was very renewing to be able to rest and refresh in Sass - Charming cottage in a beautiful setting.
- Dakota (10/5): Gorgeous studio cottage - Beautiful cottage in a serene forest. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend away.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Every detail of the home was exquisite.
- Frederic (10/5): Exceptional -
- Priti (10/5): Relaxing and beautiful - A beautiful cottage nestled inside a breathtaking garden in the beautiful mountains of the Dandenong Ranges, so close to Sassafras..I think I summed it up.
- D'astolto (8/5): Very good - Very clean and beautifully decorated.
- Michael (10/5): Amazing weekend stay - Great location, forests around the area as well as fully set-up living space to enjoy.
- Marina (10/5): Loved it - just wanted to stay longer! - Quality of the bedlinen and decor
Location and ambience Could add shampoo and conditioner to bathroom
Could add herbal teas and earl grey for better value
More flexibility on hours …maybe check in 2pm and check out 11am
- Ben (10/5): Everything we were hoping for, a magical stay. - Amazing location. Central to everything but very private and quiet. The bird life was abundant and we saw a deer from the bedroom window.
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Renee (10/5): I felt at ease and I will be back! - It was beautiful. Homely, comfortable and quaint.
- Emily (8/5): A quaint, comfy cottage in the middle of the woods. Bound to calm the senses and bring serenity. - Central heating would be fantastic for the winter months. I noticed that there are vents in the property, but I didn't see a control switch for central heating. As beautiful as the fireplace is, that and the single heating unit was not enough to keep the cottage warm.
- Kandice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (8/5): A pleasant and comfortable stay. Convenient for our main interest, which was hiking. - The internal decor was beautiful, and the garden setting in the forest was terrific. The fire created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bed and chairs were comfortable. We could not get internet. The password simply did not work. The route to the village for shops or restaurants was winding and a little inconvenient. Good shelf space for clothes, but no hanging space.
- Borg (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable, warm and charming little cottage.Pete is a friendly host and happy to offer help as needed without being intrusive.
Loved the welcome chocolates, fresh bread and jam. Wonderful peaceful location. Would have liked an instruction manual for the cottage eg for heated flooring, rubbish disposal, nearest grocery store , etc
- Fiona (10/5): A wedding is a special time and I would recommend this property for anyone who. wants to experience luxury and ambience - We had our wedding nearby-the hosts were flexible worked to meet our needs and beyond.. The cottage was a dream in terms of taste and comfort. The grounds were exceptionally maintained and equal to anything in the Dandenong’s. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom-would love to stay a long time exploring the library of books. Leaving it
- Sergio (10/5): Relaxing weekend away in the dandenong ranges. - We loved the location and the small details of the studio. Its furnished inside to be turn of the century with old clocks, fireplace, typewriter and writing desk. The water features outside also lend to the pleasantness and calm. The bathroom had a heated floor, which if we returned in winter, would be a must in the Dandenongs! The bed was comfortable, and we slept 10 hours each night. must have been that whole quietness in the wilderness. We got to walk from Sassafras back to the cabin one time via a walking track through the ferns. If we returned we would do more walks to nearby gardens. Its just perfect for the price point. You get a great place only a short drive from Sassafras. We have stayed in a few places in the area as we have family. no complaints.
- Linda (10/5): Booked for a special Anniversary and it was perfect - Host. How comfortable it was.
Location. All of the little extras.
- Benn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joannesofia (10/5): The perfect respite in Mt Dandenongs - Pete, the host, was gracious and kind, offering us a free upgrade to his gorgeous cottage. Everything was immaculate, and the decor genuinely speaks to the history of the property. Loved the air of authenticity and thoughtful touches in the house, as well as Pete's humour and thoughtfulness. It was so lovely to "come home" to a beautiful cottage that is so welcoming and warm after a day of activities. A real gem nestled in the beauty of Mt Dandenongs. Thank you sincerely Pete! Nothing, though, would have appreciated the option of a fan as it got a bit warm the second night (and we didn't want to turn on air conditioning)
- Eva (10/5): Lovely garden around a excellent decorated room - Wonderful decoration. Lovely garden
