Guest Reviews
- NEMET (10/5): - Great home and location Should let people know about tank water, so they bring drinking water. Understand tank water is filtered. But when it is.brown in colour it's hard to believe you can drink.
- Darren (10/5): Fantastic and Cosy cottage, very peaceful. - The Caretakers Cottage is a perfect little cottage to get away from it all. Beautiful presented and clean, and exactly as advertised. We were two couples, and both bedrooms at opposite ends of the cottage are spacious and equal in layout which was great. Split system aircon oil both bedrooms was very welcome as the weekend was very hot. Windows that open up the expensive backyard, which had Kangaroos and Wallabies visiting in the morning and evenings. We spend most of the time when we were at the Cottage out on the back patio looking out over the paddocks. Jackie our host was great with communication, responsive, and our welcome gift was an added bonus, much appreciated as we were celebrating two Anniversaries. Would definitely stay again, and recommend the cottage for a place to stay if you like the peace of the countryside, but only up the road from your first winery visit in the Hunter We were staying on a very hot weekend and the living area only has fans. It did get a bit stuffy, but the bedrooms were air-conditioned so sleeping at night was fine.

- Phillip (10/5): - Great location and very private. Cottage was very clean and had everything for our three night stay. Nothing - absolutely perfect
- Sesi (9/5): Serene and beautiful place - If you are looking for an escape to a serene and beautiful place, this cottage is the best!! Host Jacqui was friendly and prompt in communication. The lovely Christmas gift they left for us was very touching ❤️
All the attractions and shops are just a short drive away Our family had a lovely Christmas weekend, watching the kangaroos and the ducks in the pond. We wish to come back again, perhaps in winter this time! Just a suggestion that maybe the windows can be fitted with fly screens so that we can keep them open and enjoy the natural breeze. The living room lounge needs repair.
- Pranai (10/5): Absolutely Stunning Stay - Absolutely Stunning Stay at The Caretakers Cottage
I had an amazing stay at The Caretakers Cottage. The place looks exactly like the photos — even better in person. It’s a huge property with plenty of open space, far away from city lights, which made the whole experience peaceful and relaxing.
One of the highlights was waking up to close kangaroo sightings. There were lots of kangaroos and rabbits around, which made the stay feel truly special and connected to nature.
The cottage itself was extremely clean and very well maintained. It had everything needed for a comfortable short stay, with plenty of amenities. Both bedrooms even had their own hot tubs, which was such a nice touch.
Overall, it’s a beautiful property with gorgeous surroundings. I absolutely loved my stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet, spacious, and memorable getaway. Honestly, there was nothing I didn’t like about this place. Everything was exactly as expected — clean, comfortable, peaceful, and well maintained. I genuinely enjoyed my stay and have no complaints at all.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Chiara (10/5): Wholesome - Both bedroom sizes and facilities were the same, so no one missed out. No pool
- Patti (10/5): Amazing lovely house that felt like home - This is the most beautiful property and well equipped with everything you need
local honey as a gift was a lovely thought.
the beds were so comfy, the outlook was very relaxing and the house was so quaint and delightful to spend time in there wasn't anything I could say I didn't like
Only the fact that I couldn't stay there longer

- Sarah (7/5): Lovely stay on a beautiful property - Beautiful location, views incredible and lovely decorated place and they provided tea / coffee / bug spray / olive oil / cling film and bathroom stuff which is a great touch when staying somewhere. Check in was very easy with a door code and easy check out as well. There was an ant problem in one of the bathrooms and on the patio and one of the beds was uncomfortable to sleep in. Not sure if it was polish or dirt on the floor but after walking round our socks / feet were filthy.
- Tracy (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): Beautiful property in peaceful location. - Beautifully appointed home. Spas in both bedrooms. Fireplace with wood provided. Nothing
- Jennifer (9/5): Fabulous. - We felt like we were in the middle of nowhere while being close to everything. There were birds and kangaroos close to the house which delighted us all especially our German son in law. Would definitely stay again. The hot water wasn’t as hot as I would like.
- Joseph (10/5): Great! - Great stay! Even had the fire stacked and ready to go. Highly recommend
- Rod (7/5): If nothing changed, I would never go back or recommend this property! - Location was great very little noise except for the beautiful birds singing around us First thing we noticed there was nowhere to hang or put clothing. Secondly there could’ve been more comfortable chairs on the outdoor area and thirdly the lounge was absolutely terrible. It had collapsed at the back of the seats. looks great in the photos but to actually sit in was terrible.
The price charged for three nights stay certainly wasn’t warranted .
- Willy (10/5): Paradise in the Hunter - So few times in life that anything exceeds expectations. This stay is that stay. Beautiful. Nothing to not like
- Elena (10/5): Beautiful accommodation in a great location, cozy with a gorgeous fireplace! Great place to unwind & enjoy the hunte - Gorgeous property in a beautiful location. It was well facilitated, comfortable and clean! Kangaroos came to say hi in the morning and the outdoor area was just so peaceful. Nothing
- Renae (10/5): Our stay wasn’t long enough! The premises was clean and nothing to fault. Would definitely recommend and stay here again - Not only was it serene but so clean Nothing …. We loved everything about it!
- Devon (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property, loved the friendly kangaroos! Surprisingly close to a lot of great wineries despite being slightly outside of Pokolbin.
- Stuart (7/5): The cottage has potential, it just needs some attention to details. It was still a pleasant stay. - The location is excellent and private, the cottage was clean, tidy and comfortable. regular visits from kangaroos was a pleasant bonus. There was zero hanging or storage space for clothes (we were literally living out of our suitcases), cooking equipment (pots and pans, microwave safe bowls, utensils and such) was very limited. The bedrooms and ensuites are quite different from one another (why should one couple get a king size bed but the other couple gets a queen size bed? likewise the double sink in one ensuite but a single sink in the other?)
- Deepti (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Peaceful Christmas. - Excellent facilities, quiet and comfortable. Fast and friendly service from owner.
- Gail (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay for stargazing
- Cavanagh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Conor (10/5): Beautiful scenery. The Hosts were very helpful and responsive to any queries. -
