- Greg (9/5): Excellent base to stay to explore the Upper Murray on motorbikes. - Included continental breakfast was satisfying.
Publican had a wonderful sense of country humour and hospitality. Good range of drinks. Bistro meals were superb.
Comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. Had to think hard about thinking about anything negative to say. Sounds petty, but it took a few minutes for the hot water to arrive at the shower. Pretty minor though.
- Mark (10/5): Super friendly and awesome food - Awesome food, good beds and warm feel. Loved everything here. None
- Matúš (7/5): -

- Nick (8/5): Very good - Good value friendly and accommodating staff and clean and comfortable - very good value
- Pedro (6/5): Pleasant -
- Melinda (8/5): Good value in a characterful country pub. - This is a great country pub full of character. The beds were comfortable and the room warm, despite it being close to 0 degrees outside. We were provided with a heater and electric blankets. The breakfast was help yourself cereal and toast, which is very handy if you want to leave early. Although the facilities are shared, I had a lovely hot shower the next morning. A nightcap in the bar before bed topped off our stay. It is budget accommodation and you get more than you pay for, in my opinion.
- Leyette (7/5): Good -
- Lucy (8/5): wonderful family owned pub - staff were lovely and accommodating,
small family owned pub worth the stop in nothing nil complaints for a stop over night
- Daniel (8/5): Great. Exactly what I wanted for the price - Nice location Nothing
- Sumit (4/5): Disappointing -
- Yvonne (8/5): Very good -
- Glenn (7/5): Good - No gluten free options All good
- Duncan (5/5): Cheap but kind of less than average in a town that has gone to a lot of effort to be above that. - For a little more thought the dining room and bar could be iconic.
- Belinda (8/5): Very good - BREAKFAST WAS NOT TOO BAD
- Taina (8/5): Very good - Locked gate
Bikes safe
Eat and sleep in the same place
- Michał (10/5): an excellent option for a cheap overnight stay on the way to Mount Kosciuszko - a tiny town on the way from Melbourne to Mt Kosciuszko National Park. Very basic accommodation, but 3-4 times cheaper than in Thredbo. free cold water available all the time. Breakfast included (you have to make it yourself from what is available) nothing. This motel looks like a cheap motel in the province should look like. Don't ruin this atmosphere
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (9/5): Great stay in perfect spot with great hospitality. - The hospitality was excellent The bed was a bit firm for my liking, and the pillows were too soft.
- Dean (9/5): Highly recommend the stay if you are in the area. - Food was great and the owners excellant.
- Tc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alison (10/5): Recommended for comfortable country stay. - Lovely authentic country pub. The rooms were basic and very clean and comfortable. Very quiet location, safe parking out front of the pub. Good pub grub in the restaurant.

- Bliss (9/5): Top place, nice people. We will be returning in a couple of weeks. - Des and Helen were very friendly and helpful. The food was great. It was nice and quiet. Nothing we were very happy.
- Wennie (8/5): Very good -
- Merrilyn (8/5): We all enjoyed our stay especially the staff -
- R (1/5): The room is stinky and dusty with bugs. I don't think they have ever cleaned the carpet. - It was just Corn Flex and Weet-Bix The room is stinky and dusty. I don't think they have ever cleaned the carpet.
- Vladimir (9/5): Helpful and friendly stuff. - Staff was super friendly and the room was comfortable. Great for spending one night in the middle of a road trip. The staff actually recommended me pretty good places to visit in my road trip. I was not disappointed when I visited Kosciuszko national park. Even though the breakfast was good enough, I was expecting the breakfast to be something similar to what you would find in a Bed & Breakfast. It was a self-service breakfast with cereal, bread and other stuff to eat, but I was expecting a hot breakfast.
- Thomas (7/5): Good - Super clean, good price. Customer communication.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - Really friendly country pub, lovely staff, good food. Accommodation included self-serve continental breakfast - very helpful as we needed to make an earlly start, and we could just help ourselves whenever we were ready. The area is very pretty and we''d be delighted to make a return visit.
- Wennie (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (8/5): Very good - Accomodation, good food and bar facilities available Nothing
- Santo (8/5): will be back - extremely friendly and helpful staff
- Peter (10/5): Loved the Walwa Hotel. - I couldn't fault the hotel stay. We arrived and the lovely lady checked us in. She was organised and explained our rooms, the bathroom, breakfast, etc.
It felt like we were guests in someone's house.
The meals and atmosphere were great.
We were a group of three on motorcycles. There is a rear, secure parking area for bikes. Not that security is needed. Walwa is a lovely spot.
A continental breakfast is included in the room rate.
I thoroughly recommend it as a great pub style accommodation venue.
We will stay again. Couldn't fault it.
- Bryce (10/5): Unbeatable for the price if you are in Walwa - Comfortable, inexpensive, friendly, breakfast Nothing
- Brendan (10/5): A great clean relaxing pub with great hosts and fantastic food and beer - Very quiet room and very tidy , bed was very comfortable , had a great night's sleep , and the shower was hot and relaxing Not much really
- Glenn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (7/5): Welcoming and comfortable. Tasty meals. -
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional - I had a nice stay at the Walwa Hotel. The room was nice with an electrical heater and heated bed, perfect for winter. Breakfast is being prepared in the evening so you can start as early as you want. The owner was also friendly and helpful.
- Russell (7/5): I'll be back - Continental breakfast included is great, pity i was so rushed
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - Brilliant hospitality, yummy food and comfy bed. Will recommend to others and stay again if I'm ever in the area. Thanks for a great stay!
- Jennifer (8/5): A comfortable overnight stay in an authentic country pub whilst visiting the Upper Murray Valley - Authentic country pub accomodation. Comfortable clean room. Inexpensive.
- Harris (8/5): Very good -
- Craig (7/5): Friendly and welcoming host. - This was an overnight stay in Walwa - a small, quiet town in NE Victoria. The accommodation was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Travellers should note that this is a country pub offering accommodation and not a 5 star hotel. For that reason the room (off a central hallway) is simple - double bed, wash basin and wardrobe/drawers. The door is lockable so safety, privacy and security is assured. The shared bathroom - showers and toilets was clean. A self service breakfast is provided in the main dining room - cereal, toast, juice, tea, coffee, etc. There was nothing not to like. The accommodation suited my purposes perfectly.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, great meals, clean
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful village on the Murray River.
Well worth the turn-off from the Hume Hwy.
Great hospitality and 1920s style hotel.
Lovely bedroom and a huge retro bathroom. Nil
- Nick (7/5): Good -
- Kevin (7/5): Friendly staff, comfortable room and bed. Good evening meals. - Good evening meal of lamb shank and vegies.
The shower was hot.
Bedroom had a heater and electric blanket, it was a cold night.
Secure parking was offered for my motorcycle. I was advised that breakfast was included in the tariff, however in the morning I was looking forward to having breakfast but was unable to access the breakfast room as the door was locked. I only had the landline to the Hotel, so called this to advise of the issue, but only got an answering machine. I therefore had no breakfast.
- Jake (7/5): Good - Bed was firm and comfortable. Meal in bistro was tasty The room was a little dingy, but that's to be expected for pub accommodation. Could do with some new carpet.
- Leyette (7/5): Good -
- Lindaamos (7/5): I would stay there again. - Location and price. It also including breakfast with the price. Somewhere to hang the towels in the room and a shelf/stool to place clothes items etc. on while in the shower.
- Aashish (8/5): Must visit - Location
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Elizabeth (8/5): I felt very comfortable staying at the Walwa Hotel. - Clean & warm Nothing
- Helen (8/5): A very friendly and quirky place. A typical country pub in Oz - The Landlord was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was lively and friendly, the locals in the bar were chatty and jovial. A nice vibe after a long car journey.
A quirky place to stay. The nearby views of the Murray River are wonderful. We had to share bathrooms, but there was only one other lady guest, so it was fine.
There is no phone or GPS signal in the area, so go prepared.
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Paolozy (8/5): Very good -
- Kearney (8/5): Very good - Bed comfortable. Shower hot. Food excellent. Very friendly publican and dining staff. Excellent value for money. No private bathroom and older bathroom showing its 50,s heritage.
- Ganesh (8/5): It was alright for one night - Good Rooms Extremely soft pillows
- Ritu (8/5): Amazing space but no fan or ac - Space There was no fan working nothing as to air conditioning
- Evelyn (7/5): Good -
- Greg (6/5): Pleasant -
- Frank (9/5): Superb - Small but comfortable rooms with great beds. The lunch and dinner at the pub restaurant were superb!
- Nick (8/5): Very good -
