Guest Reviews
- Roberta (10/5): A great place to retreat to in the mountains! - Well what can I say? This place us super exceptional and, I have travelled a lot. Really there was nothing that we did not like - I really cant fine fault with this place.
- St-Gelais (10/5): Extraordinaire. - Bien J’aurais aime du café à ma chambre
- Rene (10/5): - La calidez y sencillez del lugar sin perder el buen gusto. La atención del personal todo

- Clive (10/5): A six-star rustic Estancia experience, with fine dining that is truly world class - Fine dining at its best. Authentic Estancia style accommodation, but very comfortable. Plenty of quaint common spaces with a different amazing view for each mealtime. Activities were fantastic, especially the horse riding and guests had exclusivity, even though day visitors also came to the Estancia. Staff could not do enough to make our stay unique
- Ian (10/5): Incroyable - Tout Rien
- Adrienne (10/5): I left my heart at Estancia Bonanza! - From the moment we arrived, I knew this estancia was extra special! Marina and her staff greeted us in true Argentine hospitality and made us feel truly welcome. The estancia is located in a beautiful, lush valley with exceptional views in every direction. Our cabin had the most spectacular view of Fitz Roy; we spent hours just lying in bed and staring at the spectacular scenery! The estancia offers breakfast in a little cabin loosely called "Lily's House of Tea". Lily is the dear woman who prepares the breakfast buffet each morning and offers eggs made to order and toasts the bread on the wood burning stove. She is also a talented artist and sketches the dramatic vistas from inside the little cabin. We requested packed lunches for two of our days as we had off-property excursions planned. Otherwise, lunch is served between your morning and afternoon activities onsite. They offer horseback riding (two different, peaceful trails), mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and via ferrata (which I really wanted to try but was super windy that day and I chickened out). Dinner is served in another cabin, La Pulperia, and is lovingly prepared and served by their amazing staff! The night concludes with a wood-fired outdoor hot tub with spectacular celestial sights! To say we didn't want to leave is a tremendous understatement! I've only ever experienced true peace like this once before and it was in the middle of the Serengeti. This estancia and its entire staff are very special and stole my heart! I very much hope to return one day, not only to Patagonia but to Estancia Bonanza and visit with (hopefully) life-long friends! There is a several-kilometer unpaved road which is the only way in and out of the estancia. This is no fault of the estancia in any way as it is a state road.
- Heidi (10/5): Incredible stay at this unique one of a kind property. - Breathtaking setting, rustic chic lodging, amazing food and the most friendly accommodating staff I've seen outside of a Ritz Carlton, Estancia Bonanza is a treasure in Patagonia. The price is well worth the experience. I can only hope to return one day soon. Only complaint is the weather and high winds in particular which are to be expected this late in the season.
- Alikhan (10/5): Magical experience and an abundance of happiness and adventure. - I had the most incredible experience with Estancia Bonanza. Right from the very beginning. The team were effortlessly amazing!! So welcoming and helpful. I want to thank every single staff member. The food was amazing, made with so much love and care. The guide and the Gaucho that did both the horse riding with us were extremely cool and amazing! This trip was so memorable. I cant thank them enough. I left the estancia with so much emotion. I will come back and recommend this place to everyone.

- Jacob (10/5): - The views from the property and rooms are incredible, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming, and the food was tasty.
- Sari (10/5): -
- Megan (9/5): Magical, beautiful, and totally worth it, just wish we stayed longer! - The setting and staff! We didn’t understand that we would have to walk over a pedestrian suspension bridge over the river. I’m sure they may have told us, but it was a bit more primitive than thought.
- Mathias (10/5): -
- Marine (10/5): An incredible experience in a stunning location with exceptional staff, activities, and gastronomy - The setting is extraordinary, with views that are genuinely breathtaking. The staff delivered exceptional service and consistently went above and beyond. Activities were well-run and top quality, and the food throughout the stay was outstanding.
- Roque (10/5): -
- Anna (9/5): Remote and cozy place to stay - Estancia Bonanza is remotely located in a beautiful valley. We loved being in such untamed place.
The personal and services were perfect and we also appreciated the food and hot tub.
- Jiyu (10/5): -
- Torsten (10/5): -
- Callie (10/5): One of the best vacations we’ve ever had. - Amazing! All around. The staff, food, accommodations. Everything was thoughtful and perfectly laid out. We loved it here so much we extended our stay. Very sad to leave.
- Manola (10/5): - Le personnel étaient au top! Le lieu magique
- Hong (9/5): -
- Victor (10/5): -
- Emma (10/5): I want to go back. - Estancia Bonanza is an absolute dream! I cannot recommend enough.
Me and my boyfriend (22 and 27) backpacked our way through Patagonia and wanted to treat ourselves to 2 nights of quiet luxury at the end of our journey, and that's absolutely what we got. So worth it. The staff is exceptionally friendly and their attention to detail really makes you feel at home, the land and views are incredible, the activities are well-organized and so special, the food is amazing, the rooms are so well-made, all the amenities like the hammocs, the tea room, the spa/sauna are just the cherry on top to spend an unforgettable stay! Could not have been better. If you are hesitating to splurge, do it.
- Kirsty (10/5): The best place I have ever stayed! - This whole stay was magical! From the moment you arrive it feels like an adventure. The staff were incredible and nothing was too much. The views from our room was amazing of Fitz Roy. We reserved the hot tub, sauna and cold plunge for the evening and it was magical with all the stars. The evening meal was delicious and there was a “tea time” where you can get a hot drink and a snack at 4pm.
Buffet style breakfast with cereal, cheese, ham, fruit, cakes, bread, juice, hot drinks. Then an order placed for eggs.
We had the choice of horse riding, self guided hiking or cycling, the activities are dependent on staff and other bookings made (for example via Ferrata is sometimes an option but this was booked by a full group). Horse riding was lovely and the staff allowed us to do this a second time even though we had checked out! It was amazing and can not fault it!
Booking.com implied an alcoholic drink was included in the price for dinner but this was not the case. But it’s all good just would be good to be clear.
- Nataliia (10/5): Perfect stay - Amazing expirience
Perfect everything!
Welcoming people, perfect food , good activities and breathtaking views
- Donna (10/5): Loved it. - Beautiful location. Wonderful staff. Great food
- Haidyn (10/5): Exceptional - All activities and food were included in the price. Naturally you expect something sub-par but we were blown away by everything. 11/10
- Jessica (8/5): Beautiful, with a small caveat. - The property, the food, the staff, the experience was worth every penny. It’s a “once in a lifetime experience” you will not regret! We were blown away by the beauty of the property and the cabins. To see the stars and Milky Way clearly at night, to have horses and sheep running by your room is unreal. You feel like you’re in a movie. We were very disappointed by the sauna closer on our second day. To say the reservations office was unapologetic is an understatement. They told us “well we heard you used it your first day”. Yes, but we paid a lot of money to stay here and their attitude really soured what would have been a perfect review. They need to realize if they offer a service they either need to 1) warn guests that the sauna is unavailable, or 2) offer some type of compensation. Very, very bad service from the reservations office, especially considering how amazing the on-site staff is!
- Alja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): Stunning nature in an enchanting environment. - Beautiful estancia with every cabin enjoying the lovely view of the Fitz Roy. The accommodations and staff were outstanding. Food and wines were excellent. Many activities to choose from. Havingtoleave
- Gisell (10/5): A wonderful unique experience - It’s a unique place with almost a private view of the Fitzroy. The landscape is incredible . I love the fact that the gaucho and estancia style is kept outside look with a very cosy and comfortable inside rooms .
- Andrea (10/5): A REAL PATAGONIAN DREAM - everything has been a dream.
The staff, the location, the food, the experience, the services, the view were AMAZING and UNIQUE.
Me and my wife will never forget the stay at Bonanza.
Congratulations to all the people that works there! NOTHING!!
- George (10/5): The most incredible stay on our 3 month tour around South America! - Our time here was really special. The team at the lodge (Mariana and Adi especially) made us feel right at home. All of the facilities were incredible, the room itself and the hot tub on the hill overlooking Fitz Roy were just incredible. The food the chef cooked was amazing as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our rides out on the horses, we got to see some beautiful views on horseback. We felt like every need was catered for, we were picked up and dropped off to the bus stop. We were also dropped off to the start of the trail to laguna los tres and picked up from town after a long 22km trek! We really enjoyed that WiFi was only in common areas as we could enjoy our books & the view without distraction.
The lodge has a special place in our hearts! You will not regret booking here. Nothing!!
- Isarmate (9/5): Lovely place, lovely people. A lot of potential - The location, people in service, the best cook on Argentina!!! The all inclusive concept excludes few things so better find it out in advance. The excursions were pretty… poor in compare with competition in Chilean Paragonia
- Zsolt (10/5): we were very satisfied, I highly recommend it - -Friendly helpful staff
-excellent service
-excellent fantastic food
- Jonathan (10/5): 5 star rustic chic - amazing way to experience Patagonia at its finest - Rustic chic - rating it 5* for service and food. Loved all the activities on offer and really enjoyed talking with the guides and all the staff. Just wish our Spanish had been better.
The dining room and living room great places to mingle and the tea house had awesome breakfast with the most stunning views.
We stayed in the Ponderosa and loved the quiet isolation in this very comfortable house and the easy amble to breakfast each day. Nothing could be done better! Every requirement we had such as extra ice , brewed coffee for the morning all met with a huge smile!
- John (10/5): A place and people that you will not forget. - Amazing location and equally amazing staff. A very special place due the combination of the two.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - The location was spectacular. The entire staff was incredible - warm, friendly, supportive, genuine. The meals were topnotch and presented by wonderful culinary experts. Check in and check out were a dream - we really miss our Bonanza family.
- David (10/5): The staff, the food, the room, the view, the hike... Perfect way to end our time in Patagonia. - Couldn't ask for a better way to spend the last few days in Patagonia.
The staff was awesome, and we were blown away by the room for being off grid.
If you're in to astrophotography, I literally just set up outside our room with enough range to take photos while warm in bed. Super epic. Honestly, we're pretty chill, outdoors people so nothing stood out as needs improvement.
The restaurant was running out of wine by our 3d day, but that may have been due to us :)
Maybe some yard games to play?
- Willis (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was very attentive and friendly. The experience was truly amazing. - Gives the feel of a working farm. The views of Mt FitzRoy are unmatched. Need to watch where you step because animals roam free.
- Tyler (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were the most friendly, caring and fun people. The food/restaurant was better than Michelin Star restaurant - every meal was amazing.
- Da (9/5): Superb - It was a beautiful getaway for our family! The staff was amazing, food was delicious and the activities were great! We booked the red house originally ( we didn’t Relais) and it was a little worn down and far from the main area.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ari (10/5): Exceptional -
- Logan (10/5): Unbeatable views in a secluded location make you feel like you've found a gem. - Set off on its own with no other facilities around, this place is really set deep in nature. Right up against the Fitz Roy range, the views are unbeatable! The dinner service was spectacular too - though a more robust wine list would be appreciated! The property is very secluded, requiring a ride from town to a swinging bridge (where you'll be toting your own belongings) to another car. If you're pressed for time or require wifi, this is not the location for you!
- Richard (10/5): Heaven on earth! The BEST way to experience El Chalten. - Estancia Bonanza is truly a slice of heaven on earth! I had expected good things but never thought it would be one of the best experiences ever. The staff was exceptional - they truly made us feel like part of their family and that they genuinely cared about our comfort. As for the estancia itself, waking up and seeing the glacier on Mt. Fitzroy every morning and knowing that each day was going to even better than the one before was truly uplifting. We are already looking forward to next season so that we can return and stay even longer. Nothing to improve on - a true 11 out of 10 experience!
- Dirk (8/5): true romantic gaucho experience - unusual location with great staff and great activities and fantastic foood and great activities
very remote, gives you an experience out of civilisation the huts were too basic, for example neither heating not insulation. strong wind was able to blow through cracks in the wooden walls, including dust blowing inside
- Pavel (10/5): Friendly farm with a lot of activities - It is a very special place. And old farm transformed to a hotel. You have horse riding, mountain bicycles, hiking here. There are a lot of animals in this area. We loved all the staff: Paula, Leo, waitress in the restaurant, chef, thank you for your care about us, you made this stay great.
Breakfast was very good, really nice. Horse riding was awesome. Actually food for lunch and dinner is not always good. Maybe we needed to negotiate more, but i didnt want to make chef do smth special for me, i wanted to try what they suggest and in 50% cases it was not tasty and you have no more choice because there isn't a menu to choose (only in advance you can ask smth).
Water in shower is not hot, if you wait some time, after cold, you will receive warm water.
When you don't lighten fireplace its really cold in the room.
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): A truly unique experience!!! - This is a truly unique place! unbeatable views of Fitz Roy from the accommodation. All the staff are amazing and you will truly feel at home. Everyone went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The horse riding is highly recommended and the gaucho a very good guide and an amazing campfire cook! Only beaten by the chef preparing your dinners: intimate, regional, creative, truly amazing!!! Overall: if you look for a unique experience in the Fitz Roy area, love good food, love the outdoors, love horses, love good people, love a fire and and a cabin: This is the place to be!!!! (And if you would have a problem during your stay (I doubt it), Paula and Fernanda will take of it) Nothing
