• Susanne (3/5): Loud no sound proofing forget sleeping after 5am,small bathroom & bedroom,dangerous stepped floor - Able to find parking nearby. Fridge in room Split level room caused a fall and bad injury upon arrival. Limited toiletries and towels. Tiny room and bathroom with possibly vomit smeared on towel heater. Towel grout needs cleaning. Limited ability to hang towels and clothes in bathroom just to take a shower. Very difficult to check in as no one to greet and could not understand instructions on phone and host hung up mid conversation. Booking was last minute and I had not received information email before arrival so check in was difficult to comprehend until I called a second time and was told to check my emails. Odd siren only noise from street but rooms are not sound proof. Can hear shower and hairdryer from next room doors opening and closing and being locked and from people talking in foyer from early morning. Loud music playing from 8 in the morning. Jug and herbal tea only provision - no coffee or regular tea or no coffee machine. Thought we were booked for an extra night and waited all morning to transfer to other room only to find out it had been given away and then quickly threw bags together and ran around Rome trying to find somewhere else so, wasted the whole morning on our last day in Rome

• Béla (10/5): A very good place to stay for a short time. - Very helpful management and excellent communication. The room was small but comfortable with a bathroom. It was a bit noisy during workdays, but silent in the evenings and nights. The common room is well equipped with microwave oven and a capsule coffee maker. Nice environment, and good public transport. There were no plates or cutlery. The room had a kettle and tea bags with sugar, but no spoons to stir. The common room has a capsule coffee maker with sugar, but it was hard to find something to mix them.

• George (10/5): Great room, clean and close to Vatican - It was a wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The room was spacious, clean, clean towels, clean bedsheets and well-organized. There is a small kitchen with a microwave, sink, and coffee machine, which was very convenient for us. The only thing we would suggest adding would be utensils and plates, as these were not provided. However, we were able to purchase them at a nearby supermarket, so it wasn’t an issue for us. We were pleasantly surprised by how close the hotel is to the Vatican, just a short walk away. We also walked to the city center a few times. There’s a great café downstairs that is open all day, and just around the corner is another café called Al Papagaio, which serves a delicious breakfast and is also open all day, at about half the price of the cafés near the Vatican with many patisserie options. Well recommended to stay.

• Regine (6/5): Pleasant - Easy self-check-in, the host gave information about things to do and food to try before we got to Rome. 15-min walk to the metro, you can take that to the trainstation. Easy to use when you know how to. Some restaurants and cafe close by (we liked boris). Felt safe. Good aircon. Room on the first floor. We were unlucky and had scorpions in our room. Host say it is rare to have. We told them, and they moved some trees outside the balcony. We also had tiny ants. We stayd for 4 nights, only cleaning on day 3, then they took out our trash. They offer private transport driver to airport (pay extra 65€), but did not tell us to pay in cash. This was a bit stress when we came to the airport and had to find an ATM.

• Grant (7/5): Affordable stay - Good AC, good wifi, good shower, and responsive friendly hosts. It is about a 13 minute walk to the metro station which worked well for us. They provide soap and shampoo which was nice. For the price, it was a decent place to stay. The bed was not super comfy. It was 2 twin beds pushed together with a foam mattress topper. It did not have a blanket, only a thin sheet, so we had a hard time getting comfortable. Also, a lot of things listed in the posting were not included (no robes, no kitchen, no daily housekeeping, and definitely not sound-proof) so don’t expect them!
• Nikolai (8/5): Very good for its price 👍🏻 - - very clean place, looks freshly renovated - good WiFi and A/C - nice polite staff - nice shared area with a terrace where you can chill in the evening - good neighbourhood, has several supermarkets around, McDonald’s and very good pizza and ice cream places next door - Little fridge in the room has water condensate inside and makes strange noise while working - complementary capsules did not fit in the coffee machine (wrong kind😂) - The canalisation pipe in the shower cabin should be cleaned, water does not go through well - I would have 1 shared teapot and fridge in the shared kitchen area instead of individual ones in rooms, so all the cooking would be performed in one place and it would free some space in rooms - Having washing machine, shaving and dental kits, disposable slippers would be nice in the future
• Marija (4/5): Disappointing - For 4 nights during a hot summer days, left only 2 towels. Toilet paper holder was broken. You can hear everything between rooms because walls are poor. Balcony wasnt clean, specially because it was for more people. When we booked an app, there was breakfast included also as transfer to/from app. We only got transfer from airport to app, without returning transfer and breakfast was not in app included. They said that we should see that with booking.com. We cleaned app after check out, and it was better cleaned than we found it. owners rated us as guests with 5 stars, that is enough.

• Helen (9/5): Superb - Very helpful,kind hosts room plain but everything we needed we slept really well every night we were there. I would recommend Ethnos as an excellent choice for budget minded travelers. Only complaint was that it was a little noisy at times and the shower was rather small.

• Barbara (6/5): Fine. - The little restaurant where breakfast was served was the best part of the stay. I ate dinner there 2 nights as well as it was raining and I didn’t feel like going far. Welcoming staff, lovely atmosphere, delicious food. There wasn’t daily cleaning or restock of toilet paper or soap. The room was tiny and even if I opened the curtains, the blinds were stuck shut. The bed was 2 twin beds pushed together; they kept sliding apart. The neighborhood was …plain and simple. The Vatican was the closest landmark and that was a good 20ish minute walk. I was there for medical appointments, so that was a non issue for me.

• Birzan-satmarici (7/5): Meh... - The landlord was nice and affable and allowed us to leave our luggage before check in. The large terrace of the apartment was really enjoyable. The apartment was clean. I appreciate the clear instructions on how to check in. The room was small and the view was not nice ( things no longer needed like boxes mixed with dried leafs and wood, kind of dusty). The bed was actually a sommier. The mosquitos were a problem. There were no protection on windows.
