• Romanos (7/5): - The room was very large, clean and comfortable, with a lot of natural light, which I love. The beach view was superb. Restaurant staff were friendly and helpful as were most of the front desk staff. The pool and tennis courts were being renovated so created an eyesore and there was no access via the main hotel entry, but not to worry as the beachfront location more than made up for lack of pool. The staff overall were friendly and helpful, but whoever checked me in needs a lesson in basic manners and customer service.

• Niki (2/5): Wasted money. - The location -Waiting an hour to check in -waiting due to cleaners still cleaning only to go into a room that still had rubbish in the bin and dust on surfaces - staff were not rude, however it was very clear that they didn’t want to deal with the complaints - we booked the largest room, wasn’t worth the money. A room that could dine 6 people yet could only fit one on the lounge.

Tried asking room service and the restaurant for a coffee mug for my room, and unbelievably this request was denied??? Fire alarm went off Monday morning, no announcement, no response until firies seen walking through piano bar! Had a room with twin beds. 1 bed had a doona and the second bed has a stained brown blanket. Really not good enough.

• Christian (7/5): This used to be my favourite place to stay and I understand that that are going through an upgrade. But I won’t return t - The amazing views of the beach The first room I was allocated had part of its ceiling falling down. Had dirty linen and an uncleaned bathroom. I called and was promptly given another room. Fair amount better this time. Although still stains on the curtains and bathroom door sills, including almost wetting the entire bathroom just from having a shower. The shower head tries to filet you and the shower screen doesn’t even attempt to hold back it shear aggression. The view of the beach was amazing, although don’t look down as you see a slowly deteriorating pool area as it goes through a ‘reno’ period. The morning buffet is a nice touch, if it’s raining though, try your best not to knock the buckets over as you select your morning treats.

• Laetitia (6/5): Always been a loyal patron of this hotel for 30+ years but this stay was disappointing yo say the least. - Location is good. Beds are comfortable. Problems with air conditioner., couldn’t get below 25 degrees, required attendance by staff and yet still struggled to regulate temp for several hours afterwards. Lost use of cold running water at one point for over an hour ( possibly 2 hours or more, as we went out for lunch). Could not flush toilet. Couldn’t get hold of reception over the phone on multiple occasions. On one occasion I called for housekeeping on ext 7, as indicated on the phone handset, I got the day spa, they told me to call reception on 1, reception wouldn’t answer. Pool renovations still ongoing after 2 years and very unsightly view of empty pools and rundown tennis court and lots of rubbish behind the shell service station. Would really like a doona with a proper cover on it instead of just a doona in between two sheets.

You couldn't see the sunset, facing SW. The balcony area gets a lot of road noise and no chair and quite grimy. I spent close to A$900 for two nights. The room size is really only suited for a couple, but they squeeze two double beds in the same room and say it sleeps 4. Bathroom is large enough but again a little dated. Unfortunately, I feel it's way overpriced for what you get. I left feeling a little ripped off.

Would 100% stay again - but probably not while the renovations are going on. - Location was amazing View was incredible The hotel was undergoing major renovations and the main entrance was completely inaccessible. Access was only possible via a side entrance, however there was no signage to indicate this was the temporary main entrance. There were also no pool or outdoor facilities available. Upon entering the building, there were no directions or signage to help locate reception, which was very confusing. There was also no external signage for the car park entrance. We only found the car park after checking in and receiving directions. Even then, there was no signage indicating how to access the hotel from the car park, or that the lift was actually for the hotel. There was no hotel signage anywhere. I was not the only guest confused—during my stay, three separate people approached me asking how to access the hotel from the car park. Room service incurs a delivery fee, unless you collect the food yourself from the hotel restaurant. The room service menu is extremely limited, as you can only order directly from the restaurant menu, and the options are not really suited to typical room service dining.

We have stayed so many times before and been so happy but this times was really not good Cigarette butts on the balcony, mould in the shower, our toilet did not work. We reported it but was told someone couldn’t fix til morning. Tried calling reception in the morning but no answer. Literally no working toilet for 3 people all night. Also brown water coming out of pipes (were told when we mentioned that this was due to maintenance however would have been nice to have warning so we ran water before being in the shower)

Asked for a queen or large double bed. Was provided with what appeared to be a king bed that was actually two singles joined with linen. This seperated in the late evening/early morning and was very uncomfortable for myself and partner.

It was under construction so once they get that sorted I would recommend it. Otherwise I would have given a higher rating.

Front access out so longer walks which hinders those with disabilities. Way too over priced for for poor comfort and for the disarray of the works going on!

It worked once and then no more. My wife reported it again to the same person and it was properly fixed. This problem continued for too long. Very frustrating and disappointing. We booked ocean views because it was our 30th anniversary. Could not see the sun set from our room. Another disappointment. We won’t be back.
