Guest Reviews
- SofieVDH (8/5): Good stay - We got a very big room with very comfy and clean beds in an amazing travel house! The food was also very good. The family was a bit distant. When we arrived they didn't say hello, we didn't really feel welcome... it's a bit strange becaude we made a booking and were looking forward to our stay with this adventurous organization...
- Esther (10/5): - We really loved this place. The location is great, very close to Cotopaxi national park. Rooms were spacious and tidy. The food was lovely and the hosts were very helpful and friendly!
- joypalma (8/5): - La comida La ausencia de personal permanente.
- Amon (10/5): Great value with included dinner and spacious rooms - Very friendly staff, a huge room with two large beds, and a warm shower with soap dispenser included. Dinner was included in the price (soup, main dish, and a drink), which was a great value. Breakfast was basic but reasonable for the price, and the dinner definitely made up for it. Overall, excellent value for money. The room was quite cold, and there was no heater or AC.
- Oleksii (8/5): - Excellent staff, right place for acclimatization, close to climbs
- Alex (10/5): - Todo muy bien
- Moritz (1/5): Cold, Unwelcoming, and Unprofessional Stay - Location Unfortunately, our stay was marked by a distinctly unwelcoming and cold atmosphere. At no point did we feel like valued guests — instead, we were treated purely as paying customers. There was no introduction, no explanation of the facilities (for instance, a fruit basket was available, but no one informed us we could take anything), despite us speaking fluent Spanish.
The attitude towards children was particularly disappointing. They are charged the same as adults, with no adjustments despite their smaller needs. There was no consideration for their comfort or rest — the hosts’ own children were running and shouting past 10 PM, making it nearly impossible to get our children to sleep.
Our room was extremely cold, and although there was a fireplace, our polite request to use it was dismissed without any alternative offered — even a simple space heater would have helped. We had to ask three times for towels, with no initiative or concern shown by the staff.
When we pointed out that foreign tourists should be exempt from the IVA tax, the response was a smile — but the money was still taken.
Overall, the experience lacked even basic hospitality. The environment felt indifferent, bordering on unfriendly. It was, sadly, one of the least warm and most impersonal stays we have ever had.
- Rebekah (10/5): Perfect base to explore Cotopaxi - We loved our stay here! The lodge was so cosy and the beds were really comfortable, with heaps of soft blankets provided. The shower was also nice and hot! The included dinner and breakfast was great too. Great value for money! Nothing!
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and cozy, food is nice and town is lovely
- Susanna (5/5): Passable -
- Lucas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oleg (9/5): Very good. - Location, people and nature. Nothing really.
- Martin (8/5): Very good -
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place for the price! 360 degree mountain veiws surround the property and you can watch the sun rise over Cotopaxi. Great base for hiking and climbing. They even provide dinner and breakfast for free! Cash only
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect for our needs, offering close proximity to the mountains to acclimatise for our Cotopaxi climb. It is a family run mountain lodge and the owners Fernando and Teresa were incredibly personable and accommodating, always ready to assist with any request. They even arranged transport for us to the local mountains and the main road.
One of the highlights was the delicious home-cooked meals, with breakfast and dinner included in the price. The rooms were very spacious, providing plenty of room to relax, and the showers were consistently hot, which was a welcome feature after a long day on the mountains.
I’d highly recommend this mountain lodge! We loved it!
- Emily (3/5): Sleepless night of loud music & sewage - The staff seemed nice The toilet in my room was clogged with feces. It was absolutely disgusting. When I realized, I texted the WhatsApp number (because all of the staff had left) and no one EVER answered me, so I was forced to sleep in a room that smelled like sewage. It was horrible. I can't believe I actually had to pay money to suffer through that.
There was also a party that went until 6 am so I got almost no sleep.
- Paula (8/5): Very good - Location, very friendly owner. Too many lights at night at reception/ living room. Tv always on. It lack a bit of charm. Construction was quite interesting with a lot of natural light.
- Volodymyr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Finn (9/5): Superb - Beautiful accomodation. Meals extremely tasty, fireplace spends warmth and a nice atmosphere. Staff is very attentive and helpful. We even manged to book the owner as our guide for our climb of Chimborazo - one of our best experiences ever made. Nothing in particular. Unfortunately just provided cold showers. First night was extremely loud due to lots of animals around, so we didn't manage to sleep at all.
- Zaccone (10/5): Hikers dream - Beautiful!! And very unique.
Great for climbers and hikers
Good breakfast excellent dinner
Very clean Middle of nowhere
We stayed after Cotopaxi tour so great for that.
