Very well equipped kitchen, huge comfy bed, large bathroom with excellent toiletries, spotlessly clean. Views across grasslands front and back plus very entertaining birds around the pond. Loved the thoughtful addition of binoculars and bird books. Nothing.

- Colleen (10/5): This was our second time at Pelican PointSanctuary, and I will definitely choose it again if we are in Tasmania. - The property is very spacious, with a wonderful setting Nothing!
- Jeffrey (10/5): An unforgettable stay filled with beautiful moments, good vibes, and memories I’ll always cherish. - It's away from the town. Not saying that the town was loud or busy but it's nice to be surrounded by wildlife for a change I can't think of any to be honest. I stayed at Blue Wren and it was perfect for a lone traveller. They made me move to the Kingfisher cause I want to stay for another night and the house was also amazing. It's perfect for a family or a group of friends staying.
- Kerry (10/5): Highly recommend this property for an exceptional stay!!! Thanks so very much!!! - Such amazing attention to detail and comfort of guests !!! You could not have asked for anything !!! Incredible value for money!!! We were very impressed by everything!!! The property is within walking distance to town. Very friendly and kind host! So many birds to see (though please don’t expect pelicans) and fish in creek on property …was glorious!!! We loved this stay!!! Nothing!! Was all fabulous!
- Anastasia (9/5): - Great location, comfy and cute!
- Nancy (10/5): This was the most relaxing and comfortable cottage amongst birds we could wish for. - Open spaces with views and walking tracks to water ways. Self-contained cottage with kitchen, deck, lounge and books about wildlife. Jerome was very hospitable. Nothing

- Leah (10/5): - Great location! So easy to visit the Bay of Fires. The photos really don't do it justice. The little cabins/units are all nicely laid out and there are lots of views from indoors because of the well positioned windows. The bed was also comfy and the unit had everything you would need. Nothing!
- Helen (10/5): - We stayed in the Sandpiper room, it was so beautiful and light filled, it had everything we needed and the property is so beautiful and peaceful! I would definitely recommend Pelican Point. Nothing!
- Elizabeth (9/5): I’ll stay at Pelican point Sanctuary was peaceful and relaxing - It was a tranquil location with a few over a pond and across the fields to the sea. The accommodation was well equipped with all you needed to prepare a meal a good coffee machine a guest laundry
Jeremy was a good host and with prompt answers to any questions. It certainly was a relaxing stay. There was nothing we didn’t park
- Michelle (9/5): Stunning property, fabulous facilities, lovely owner — we will be back! - The property is stunning, with sprawling wetland views. The owner Jerome has thought of so many details, from providing binoculars and bird guides to setting up a game of pétanque out the front. The shared bbq facilities and laundry were super handy, and the kitchen inside the apartment itself was great — made it super easy to pick up local produce along your travels to cook up and enjoy in comfort, with a view. The property is modern, clean and really close to town and Jerome had great recommendations for places to dine and things to experience in St Helens and beyond. He’s got great plans for the place and we can’t wait to come back. The resident ducks were very friendly too! Nothing, everything was fantastic!
- Leah (7/5): Nice simple accomodation close to beaches - The location was quiet. Bed was comfortable and place was clean. Blue wren had a lovely balcony to sit on and enjoy the views. It was 30 degrees while we were there and the air conditioner was not adequate to cool the room down.
- Allen (10/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): -
- Pascal PESTEL (10/5): Un pur bonheur !
- vera (10/5): -
- Mary-Anne (10/5): Peaceful stay in a cosy cabin in nature - Absolutely beautiful cabin and cosy, wonderful host who greeted us on arrival and only a call away if needed
- Andrew (10/5): Perfect - Quiet, private, lots of wildlife to observe with binoculars provided by host to help. Excellent communication from Jerome (owner) who is on site Nothing all excellent
- Hell_matt (10/5): -
- Paul_WA (9/5): A wonderful experience - A wonderful bird sanctuary about 1.5kms from the town of St Helens on the north east coast of Tasmania.
This is a very special place for wildlife. It is very quiet and the rooms are very comfortable and good size. nothing!
- Steven (10/5): Fantastisch - De locatie en de host, Jerome. Niets
- David (10/5): Great rooms, friendly host, not far from town - The Sandpiper room was fantastic, spacious with a great view. Our host was very friendly and provided great tips on places to go/ things to do. A wonderfully peaceful place.
- Amanda (10/5): - Great quiet location with excellent cooking facilities
Prompt and helpful responses from staff
- Brenda (10/5): Wonderful relaxing stay - Blue Wren cottage was our gorgeous accommodation. Very thoughtfully set up and decorated with quality items all contained in the one large area including the bed, kitchen and lovely lounge seating, with a large separate bathroom with a terrific shower. Great coffee machine with lots of capsules and more on request. Glasses, crockery, cutlery all provided and condiments above and beyond usual provisions. Open space all around with windows on all four sides of the cottage overlooking the views so we could observe the plentiful wild life. Blue Wrens were always flitting around and it was a joy to watch the very pretty Green Rosellas on our lawn at dusk and the many other bird life spotted around our cottage. It was very enjoyable sitting out on our private deck indulging in our antipasto platter and wine, weather permitting! Beautiful walks around the property with an abundance of bird life. Very peaceful and relaxing. Jerome is a wonderful host and full of valuable advice and always available for a chat or information. The internet was down when we arrived and Jerome was keen to apologise with a nice bottle of wine, which we shared with him. Would most definitely return. Nothing we can think of!
- Moshik Schindelhaim (10/5): - הכל היה מעולה, מעוצב יפה, נוף ף
- Kate (9/5): Absolutely excellent place to stay! Will be going back. - It was an excellent location. Lovely well equipped unit even with a pod coffee maker. The surrounding grounds were excellent for walking around. Host was excellent even allowing me to use his personal wifi when the main one down. Because of the concrete floor it took a bit to heat up. Wifi was down for the 2 days I was there.
- Anna (10/5): - Jerome was friendly and accommodating with lots of knowledge and suggestions. Great location, plenty of bird life to spot. Complimentary laundry was a good touch.
- Angela (9/5): Peaceful, perfect. - Perfect location… frogs, birds… so relaxing, lovely accommodation, friendly and helpful staff.
- David (10/5): Magical - Well appointed accommodation. Quiet location. Wildlife and bird life.
- Michelle (9/5): Beautiful accomodation in a serene picturesque location. The best place to stay in St Helens. - A beautiful peaceful location just out of St Helens, with wonderful birdlife and very tasteful comfortable accommodation.
Our second stay here and we cannot wait to return. Nothing! Loved everything.
- Donna (10/5): Tranquil and relaxing - It was so tranquil and relaxing Nothing we didn’t like

- Beth (9/5): Perfect and peaceful; a gem sanctuary from which to explore the beauty of the area. - It’s a quiet and very beautiful sanctuary with ducks that come to say hi! Everything is gorgeous!
- Nick (10/5): A magnificent stay within a very picturesque sanctuary - This modern property just outside St Helen’s was excellent. The outlook across the wetlands and the water was stunning. Beds were comfortable and you could lie and watch the sunrise through magnificent full glass windows in complete privacy. An experience that was a highlight of our Tasmanian trip Being winter the bird numbers were not high
- Judith (9/5): A relaxing few nights in excellent accommodation. - I liked the location just out of town with the wetlands surrounding it. The unit was well set up, modern, warm and thoughtfully furnished. The host was very helpful and friendly and gave us a free room upgrade.
I am a keen photographer and it was a great, safe spot for night photography. I was even lucky enough to see a small aurora display on the second night.
- Tania (10/5): Superb - We just loved our upgrade to the Sandpiper. Modern and warm. Spectacular views. Great amenities. Very comfortable bed. Definitely be back for a longer stay. We didn't stay long enough.
- Darren (10/5): We have stayed there 3 times and we got upgraded. Will always use this spot for our st Helen’s trip - Nothing not too like. It’s excellent
- Dave (9/5): Superb -
- Nikki (9/5): Comfortable, elegant, luxurious little house in the middle of nature - Gorgeous, clean, beautiful area right next to a pond. Close to everything & very cozy I didn’t not like anything, it was really a gorgeous holiday house, had everything we needed and more
- Don (9/5): Superb -
- Neil (10/5): Wonderfully relaxing. - Beautiful location just out of St Helens town centre and very close to Bay of Fires. Jerome made sure we were happy with all aspects of our stay. Great place for bird watching and star gazing from your room. Several walks on the very large property as well as being just a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy the tranquillity. Excellent kitchen, bathrooms etc and very comfy beds. Short drive to several small beachside towns as well as spectacular beaches on Bay of Fires. An easy drive to Derby, pub in the Paddock and Pyengana. A truly wonderful part of the world to enjoy. Probably other stuff we missed. Going back to do it again in a month or so! Nothing
- Graham (9/5): Lovely quiet accommodation near St Helens - The venue was a short drive out of St Helen’s. Lovely quiet location with a great outlook. The bed was very comfortable. The accommodation had all the facilities we required. Highly recommend.
- John (9/5): Superb - Lovely comfortable accommodation with beautiful views and birdlife and a stones throw from St Helens.
- Leanne (9/5): Beautiful escape to nature! - We really enjoyed staying here. The room was new and had been designed to take advantage of the location and the pleasing outlook. The views out the window were totally of the surrounding nature. It was beautiful! The room was well appointed and I really liked having a filtered water system and coffee machine. My husband and I particularly enjoyed walking through the grounds and visiting the bird hide around sunset to see the array of birdlife. The place is situated a little out of St Helens, however, it's a short drive into the main centre of town making it a perfect place to stay. Nothing!
- Kylie (9/5): Stunning property - The area was perfect, comfortable beds, Outlook was amazing, very roomy, nice and quiet and so close to town Poor wifi
- Leigh (9/5): A great place to stay just minutes away from the lovely seaside town of St Helens. - Quiet & spacious location, lovely helpful host, Disappointed I didn’t see the resident platypus. 🤣

This was our favourite place to stay on our trip - we’d definitely recommend and return!
- William (10/5): Highlight of the trip so far, and we've stayed at some very good places. - Excellent location. Expansive property with lovely views. Neat trails for a walk about. A great way to experience the Bay of Fires area.
Clean, classic lines. Great espresso machine! Nothing. It really is a terrific place to stay. Wish we had booked for a few days rather than just one.
- Penrose (10/5): A perfect retreat to relax in - What a fabulous place. It's a bird sanctuary and even if you are not a bird watcher there are paths to walk around and a deck overlooking the water. Apart from th scenery and the wildlife the modern apartment is beautiful and a lovely space to just relax in. You'll need transport to get there and get supplies but kitchen has everything a cook could want. The bed is super comfortable and there's a great shower. There is also a laundry onsite. The owner is very welcoming and we had a super stay. Nothing

- Sophia (10/5): One of the most beautiful properties we have ever stayed in from a location and comfort perspective. We wish we had long - Best bed we have EVER slept in! The pillows were also sooo good for our necks. The location was absolutely superb and addition of binoculars a thoughtful addition to just spend time gazing out at the birdlife from our deck.
Jerome ( whom we didn’t meet) was very helpful with all check in details.

Wonderful comfy accommodation
- Patricia (10/5): Wish we had stayed longer than two nights. - We had a wonderful stay. Loved everything about Pelican Point Sanctuary. Nothing.
- Caroline (10/5): Quality accommodation in a truely beautiful environment - We loved our stay in the Sandpiper villa which was modern, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately we only had one night here, it is well set up for a longer stay. The property is very peaceful with views towards the estuary, we spent some time looking at the seabirds from the bird hide on the morning of our departure. A very serene experience! We highly recommend staying here and also taking the stroll to the estuary. Nothing
- Katrina (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (10/5): A Meditative Visit - I think it’s been mentioned in other reviews about this property but I too wish I could’ve stayed here a lot longer…and not just because of the free upgrade! The owners, Sam and Jerome, are kind, interesting, pleasant, and hard-working people. The effort they put into this property clearly requires a remarkable passion and commitment. I’m not sure what I enjoyed more: the perfection of the unit I stayed in or the peaceful stroll through the amazing property.
- Roy (10/5): Fantastic location to chill out with amazing hosts. - Fantastic well equipped unit with great views of the property and bay with several easy walks to see the local birdlife. Perfect place to truly relax and chill out and still only a 10 min drive to St. Helens. Many thanks to Jerome and Samantha (Sam) who are amazing host's and we felt at home from the time we arrived. We would have stayed longer but they were booked out. Definitely returning next year for a couple of weeks. One of the highlights of our Tassie trip. Highly recommended. 🙂👍
- Sue (10/5): Overall excellence. - Excellent location, quiet with access to wetlands area (binoculars and bird guide provided). Very clean and comfortable room with good facilities, parking at the door, lovely outlook. Highly recommended.
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (9/5): Perfect getaway - It was close to everything but secluded enough to be lovely and quiet, especially of a night. Sitting outside watching the sunrise was beautiful, surrounded by gumtrees.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Moore (9/5): Great stay in a nice location. - Beautiful room with excellent view in. Convenient location. Loved the spacious well appointed room, with the beautiful views.
- Mark (10/5): Exceeded expectations. A really great place to stay run by a welcoming, friendly team. Recommended! - Located in a wetlands reserve and with well-marked walks round the grounds. Birding books and Nikon (!) binoculars provided in our detached chalet which had full disabled access and a view over a small pond via the huge sliding windows, all of which were fly-screened. Spotlessly clean throughout. Very well appointed full kitchen with quality utensils and fittings which were a pleasure to use. The oven was so clean I didn't want to sully it! Fast broadband. Each chalet has its own parking bay right alongside it.
Greeted on arrival by friendly staff, and the owner is an even-friendlier character. Highly recommended.
Worth a mention is Lease 65, four minutes away and selling the biggest, freshest oysters I have ever eaten, all at portside prices (12 for AU$ 24). Amazing. There's a/c in the main room but not in the bedrooms. Floor to ceiling window blinds help keep the solar load down (use them) but even with the large sliding windows open to catch a breeze earlier, the bedrooms got a bit sticky overnight, even in late February. I'd suggest a standing fan, but it's really only a very minor 'counsel of perfection'.
- Ellen (9/5): Superb - It really is a sanctuary with an immediate feeling of peacefulness. Nothing
- Eric (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional - I originally booked the cottage but we were upgraded to Sandpiper 5. This 2 bedroom apartment is so nice.
Great views from the front and back. Glass windows the length of the longer and kitchen areas view an extensive view across to the water.
There are heaps of different birds and there are a pair of binoculars and a number of bird books to help identifying the birds. Lots of rabbits in the morning.
The kitchen was well stocked for tea/coffee and Jerome supplied 300mls of fresh milk.
Bed was comfortable and shower very good. Nothing
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
