El camino a la playa muy sucio, ojalá entre todos se pusieran de acuerdo para mantener más limpio ese paso a la playa.

The staff are exceptional, especially the woman who cleaned our room and they are all so responsive on t - Clean and beautiful facilities The location is a little far from downtown Santa Teresa, but if you rent a car or golf cart you should be fine. The WiFi in our room wasn’t working the last two days after a storm. I am sure had I pushed to get this fixed the property would have, they are so responsive and helpful!!

Die Lage fanden wir klasse, man ist mitten im Dschungel!! Zum traumhaft schönen Strand ist es noch nicht mal 100 Meter entfernt ! Der Kontakt zum Vermieter war top, sehr schnelle Rückmeldung und sehr hilfsbereit, die Mitarbeiterin ist sehr freundlich. Nichts

Am zweiten morgen zogen die Brüllaffen über den Bäumen durch, das anzuschauen bei einem Kaffee 😍 unvergesslich toll. Gute Restaurant in der nähe! Die Strasse hat grosse Löcher… ein SUV ist von vorteil!

De verdad fue muy relajante No es en sí del hotel, pero la calle principal está en pésimas condiciones, y como el hotel está hasta el puro final del pueblo, el carro se golpeaba mucho y se demoraba mucho en llegar

Many other great beaches and restaurants are near by. Monkeys are sometimes noisy in the early morning hours. Road to property is poor and recommend 4-wheel drive.

The property owners, Mary and Tyler were extremely helpful. I’d never been to Costa Rica before and they knew all of the vendors and places I should go. Would highly recommend staying at Makanas and I’ll definitely be back! No complaints

My wife and I absolutely loved this property, the location, the accommodations and most of all… the owners and the staff :) Mary & Tyler, the owners, were uber, UBER gracious, kind and crazy helpful, as it was our 1st time in Santa Teresa area. Really just the kind of people you want to come home with you so they can be your neighbor! Thank you Mary, Tyler and family for an amazing stay and lifelong memories! Loved everything
• Claire (10/5): Beautiful peaceful clean stay just close enough to the main town - I absolutely loved staying here. I wanted to be in nature away from the noise of the main town, which is exactly what this place offers. I had peace and privacy just a few steps from the ocean. It was amazing. I really have no complaints. I loved being just far enough from town to escape the noise and experience the beautiful nature of costa rica but close enough to go to dinner and have fun in the main part of santa theresa

• Blaine (9/5): The hosts and facilities were accommodating and made for a pleasant stay - The facilities were great. Each room was like a separate house, so was private and relaxing. I stayed in the studio room which had a large deck and dining area outside which we enjoyed spending time there. The other rooms were spacious and well equipped, making the stay comfortable. There were a lot of animals, everyday we saw monkeys and beautiful birds as well as some curious raccoons and pisotes. We enjoyed the breakfasts, especially the fresh fruit and pressed coffee. We were the only people there for most of our stay so enjoyed the privacy and relaxing nature of the grounds. The hosts were very helpful with any questions we had, and their guest book of recommendations was excellent. The restaurants we tried in town were all really good. Overall the stay at Makanas made for a good time just a short distance away from the main beaches and town of Santa Teresa. The location was a little out of the center of town so would recommend renting a car or ATV/quad because we used taxis for trips in and out of town and that ended up being expensive. But the distance from town made for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Also, I enjoyed staying in the studio room and the space it had but would just mention that the bathroom is a separate room outside the bedroom so if going to the bathroom at night definitely recommend taking a flashlight.

• Tina (10/5): LOVED it! Wish we could've stayed longer. Would definitely recommend! - Room was great and the fact that there are only (4) bungalows made it seem private and more personal. Beautiful grounds and just a short walk through the trees to the beach. Comfortable and romantic as well! Mary & Tyler were very helpful in answering questions, providing information about the area and staying in touch if we needed assistance. Breakfast service could have been a bit better as the breakfast options for Vegans were minimal, but we had not alerted them to our dietary needs prior to arrival. Still we made the most of what was available and still had a good breakfast. Location is a bit far with not many restaurant options around if you don't rent an ATV or plan to take your car up/down the steep driveway, but if you're adventurous (we were!) you can easily walk the 2 miles into the center of town.

Everything about the place was great except It was very noisy all night with a lot of electronic music going on. I wish that I would have known about that. I mean it would have been a great place to party if I was in the party mode but I wasn't ready to party. It would be nice if they would say there's going to be electronic music all night long. It lasts until 5:00 a.m.
• Dina (10/5): I had my privacy and comfort in Makanas while I didn’t feel alone. - Perfect location, the bungalows are a few steps from the beach. Easy check-in without the staff’s assistance, just read the info carefully that they send before your stay. Breakfast is awesome, always fresh and healthy. The staff is super nice, flexible, they are always avail for help, but don’t bother your privacy. The bungalow is clean and well equipped. It was my best accommodation in CR. -

The AC was amazing as we were there during the hot and humid season. It is a two minute walk to the beach. The landscaping is beautiful! really nothing to complain about at all. Of course, anywhere in the area it requires four-wheel-drive, but there is nothing that the bungalows can do about the road conditions.

• Lisa (10/5): Relaxing bungalow stay - We couldn't be happier with our choice to stay at Makanas. The bungalow was beautiful and well taken care of by the owners. Communication was great and everything from self check in instructions, Wifi, and local guide/tips was provided and very helpful. The bed and bathrooms were extremely comfortable and the best part is the private terrace where we can enjoy our coffee and relax. The location of Makanas was ideal for us. There is access to a beautiful beach less than 100 meters away, we had such a great time walking around and the sunset was stunning! Makanas is a bit outside of the hustle of the main town, but it was easy to get around. Most restaurants will require a drive, but there are some good walkable options. I would highly recommend Florblanca next door for amazing sushi (and yoga)! Breakfast included eggs, fresh fruit, rice and beans and delicious coffee. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, they helped us book a rental for ATVs which I highly recommend. Thanks for a great stay, we would love to come back on our next trip down to CR.
• Paul (5/5): Passable - The bungalows are a short walk from the beach, which is at the far end of Santa Terasa and in quiet and more wild location. The bungalows are in good condition and comfortable. The bungalows themselves are closer to the main road than the beach and although secluded are nestled around other properties and don't really have a view. The main issue we had was the building works next door which started at 6am and lasted all day, every day. The staff told us it had been going on for sometime, but the owner said it was the first report he'd had of it - speaking to other guests this clearly wasn't the case. Although we found great restuarants on the beach nearby and enjoyed Santa Terasa, the accomodation definately wasn't the highlight of our trip.

• Susan (9/5): Relaxing, easy, close to the beach. - The Wi-Fi is very strong. Each of the 4 bungalows has its own. Clean, well-maintained, good coffee and breakfast. The driveway is steep and requires a 4-wheel drive car to access. This needs to be emphasized in the on-line description. We had to park up on the main road where there is very little space. Location is near beach but in the jungle - bring mosquito repellent.

• Simit (3/5): Cross between poorly equipped Airbnb and a hostel - Comfy bed, beach towels were provided, close to nice beaches, staff were responsive to messages via Booking.com messaging service For this price point, the room was very under equipped. There was no safe, no tea/coffee making facilities, no hot water. The internet wouldn't always work. For breakfast there was no choice, we were just given a plate of food whether we liked it or not. There was no customer service, no welcome, no atmosphere. There were different people hanging around the grounds, but it wasn't clear if they were staff or not.
