Guest Reviews
- Winston (10/5): Lovely and restful apartment - Lovely and well equipped apartment. Close to town. Karen and Chris were fabulous and so helpful. Would stay again if I am ever in Gibsons again N/A
- Chukwudumebi (9/5): - Karen was a lovely host and went out of her way to make sure we had a beautiful holiday. She provided an extra robe when we asked, shared some spots we might enjoy during our stay and was a delight to chat with eveytime we saw her around. We really enjoyed the yard space with the outdoor sitting area and fireplace and the hot tub. The beds were super comfy and we all had the best sleep we’ve had in a while. Everything was provided in the kitchen for if you needed to cook or use the grill outside which we enjoyed.
All in all we loved how relaxing the property felt and would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to have a relaxing, peaceful holiday.

- Megahn (10/5): We lucked out! - Karen and Chris were exceptionally helpful and welcoming hosts. For someone who walks with poles, it is a mostly flat 10 minute walk to the village. Beaches are a short drive. The kitchen is fully stocked and spacious. We enjoyed the private outdoor hot tub, BBQ and covered lounge area with heater each evening. The generous supply of towels, beach towels and robes along with the washer dryer made our stay very comfortable. Thank you!
- Di (10/5): -
- Michael (9/5): Great tomes - Location and amenities Small mirrors in bedrooms. There were large mirrors in several locations but none directly in rooms.
- jennifer (9/5): -
- Pat (10/5): Great stay - Everything you need, well supplied kitchen with coffee and spices for cooking. Even had bathrobe and slippers. Hot tub was great. Beach short walk away so cold dip and then hot tub. Walked into village for restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Great hostess
- Linda (10/5): Excellent - Convenient location, well supplied with everything you could need.
Helpful and friendly host Nothing
- Jeff (10/5): - Karen's home is fantastic. The location is absolutely perfect and within a short walk to Gibson town for food/drinks and several amazing beaches. Karen is a great host and provided my family and I with some great local tips on places to visit. This is my second time staying here, and I will definitely be back again in the future. Nothing!
- Eliza (9/5): Charming and good value - Our stay was wonderful! Very well located, beautiful and clean space, big primary bedroom with a king!! Fully equipped kitchen and plenty of towels. Parking and access to the stunning backyard. Karen was absolutely lovely and provided us with great recommendations. Everything was truly great. It would have been nice to have a small couch instead of two arm chairs, but the space is limited so it is understandable.
- Ernest Tay (10/5): - Friendly and helpful hosts.
Quiet location, but within walking distance from the public market.
Clean and spacious apartment, fully equipped, tastefully decorated and well maintained.
The hot tub in the garden was a nice surprise! 😍
- Judy (8/5): Hosts Karen & Chris very welcoming and helpful - Outdoor sitting area
Hot tub nice for evening
Loved the walk into downtown restaurants, shopping, etc
Kitchen well equipped
- Geraldine (9/5): Comfortable in a great location with bonus of garden seating and hot tub. Great helpful host - Very comfortable clean and well equipped place. The garden seating and hot tub were a great bonus. Karen was really helpful with lots of advice on places to visit Nothing
- John (10/5): Best of the best in Gubsons - Spotless, well organized, well maintained and equipped with all kind of utensils. Very comfortable! None
- Nic (9/5): A very relaxing weekend stay in Gibsons. - The location was very convenient, very close to the bus stop and the village near the waterfront. The accommodation was very spacious and comfortable with a very nice kitchen. There were lots of clean towels and slippers for use. The was a fantastic hot tub in the garden. The host was very friendly and gave lots of helpful advice for exploring Gibsons. I would definitely stay again.
- Sukhdev (9/5): Superb - good good
- Wilson (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (10/5): Excellent backyard, with umbrella, cushioned chairs and hot tub! - Great location. Friendly host. I recommend staying here!
- Stan (9/5): Superb - Great location, 2 minutes from the beach, an easy walk from town centre.
Exceptionally well equipped kitchen; other rooms large and also very well furnished.
They have a hot tub although we didn't use it no suggestions
- Poornima (10/5): Fantastic and comfortable fully-stocked home with really wonderful and caring hosts -
- J.e (9/5): Great find for a stay in the middle of Gibsons. - Very clean with modern facilities and appliances. Deep bath tub and shower. Lots of hot water. Lots of towels. Large sized apartment. Bedroom has a huge and exceptionally comfy bed. Lots of storage areas for clothes. Each room has its own thermostat so the whole place was warm and easily adjusted. Kitchen has enough equipment to prepare meals with. The apartment is a short walk from the marina, the centre of town and most of the restaurants. 2 roads away from the harbour in a very quiet street. Very helpful owners. This is a basement apartment and there was, as expected, some slight noise from the owners walking about upstairs but it was minimal and no noise at all after 9.00pm. One or two minor DIY jobs needing doing to the cupboards in the kitchen would be good to do.
- Joseph (9/5): Superb -
- Margaret (9/5): Great weekend retreat - Loved the walkability to town and the water. Also liked the 2 bedrooms, kitchen and outdoor space.
- Siu-to (9/5): Superb - The location is amazing! It is close to museum, character stores at the waterfront and different restaurants.
we booked a charter for fishing. The marina is only a minute drive.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Location is absolutely amazing. Walking distance from pier, shops, coffee shops, restaurants, beaches and swimming areas.
The house was super quiet, comfortable and feels like home. Host was really nice, had great tips about the area and the house was really well setup.
- Gilbert (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Comfortable home, great location and great hosts! - The location was the bottom floor of a house, below the hosts. Hosts Karen and Chris were great: met us despite our late arrival; very friendly; answered all of our questions before and during the stay. The house is completely furnished, very clean, and comfortable (we stayed as a family of four with 2 teenage boys). Karen and Chris helped with an introduction to the town and recommendations for things to do, and Karen even personally showed us some of her favorite spots. The house is a short walk (2 minutes?) from the harbor. Chris recommended a guide for salmon fishing; we caught salmon and cooked it on the grill in the back yard. The boys loved the hot tub. Our boys are 14 and 18 years old and had to share a double bed. This isn't really something we "didn't like" but is a heads up that the second bed may be small for two people. However this may have more to do with our 18 year-old sleeping diagonally!
- Roberts (9/5): Comfortable and welcoming place that has everything you could possibly need. - This is a lovely quiet and charming place. It has a very well stocked kitchen We had everything we needed to accommodate our own cooking needs. We traveled on a hot weekend and the suite was very cool and airy. We had access as well to a lovely sitting area in the back yard to enjoy our morning coffee and a quite afternoon rest. Everything was clean and comfortable. There was nothing really that needed improvement in this place. The hosts obviously have lots of experience making guests feel welcome.
- Ava (10/5): Will Stay Again! - Everything exceeded expectations. The host was extremely friendly and lovely, had great information about town and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. The hot tub is great!
- Colleen (9/5): Superb -
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (9/5): Great location - Karen is a wonderful host. She gave us a quick tour of the area told so where to find beaches etc. Her kitchen was well stocked with coffee, oil , spices, and condiments. Also, sharp knives!
The hot was great.
The location is wonderful. It's a lovely stroll into the lower village.
- Van (10/5): Exceptional -
- Heather (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay at Gibson's Harbor Retreat! Would highly recommend it to other travelers! - The location was fabulous! We could walk to our venue at High Beam and it is also a short walk to the beach and downtown. The unit is meticulously clean and beautifully decorated. Our host Karen was wonderful providing a personal tour at check in and lots of extra information. The rental was stocked with every possible amenity you could ever need. Despite being a basement unit with only a few windows it was bright and cheery. It is located in a residential area and was extremely quiet for sleeping. The unit was a little crowded for four adults as the kitchen table is quite small with large chairs. Two small, low back chairs would certainly make the kitchen more functional. The fold down bed was a wonderful addition to the small living room but the mattress was a bit saggy in the middle. The Murphy bed bed also has a fold down table that was incredibly useful.
- Miguel (10/5): Fantastic! - Great location, friendly hosts and excellent facilities. Very well equipped. Nothing I can think of!
- Bruce (8/5): We had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of our visit - Our host was very informative and helpful- giving us great local advice and tourist information
- Leo (10/5): Exceptional - the host took care of every detail, she was super attentive and gave great tips
- Amy (8/5): Lovely little stay. - The location was fantastic just a 2 minute drive from Gibsons or 10 minute walk. The suite was lovely very cozy and exactly what we needed. The bed was comfortable and the hosts were super lovely, they cared about the little things. The hot tub was a real plus. Would 100% stay again and recommend to friends. Might be good to have an air freshener as the place smelled a little musty on arrival.
Also the dog howls upstairs when left alone. On Saturday it cried most the day.
- David (9/5): Lovely basement apartment in a beautiful town. - Very well equipped. Karen has worked hard to make sure all the little extras are there. Hot tub and grounds were lovely. Karen’s suggestions for walks, restaurants etc. were very helpful. Gibsons is a beautiful town - we could easily have spent more time there. The apartment is close to the marina, restaurants and shops. It’s a basement apartment. It’s a lovely basement apartment, but it’s still a basement apartment.
Wifi was a bit spotty - excellent in some places and very slow in others.
- Karen (9/5): Great location, quiet and pretty neighborhood. Close to beach trails. Very comfortable accommodation - Easy to find, walking distance to Gibsons
- Colleen (7/5): Great location with inadequate soundproofing - The location is great. The decor was charming and the suite had everything a person could need. It was noisy. I could hear the tv playing from the main house as well as every conversation the hosts were having upstairs which detracted from the quiet serenity I was seeking
- Frederika (10/5): Fantastic - The suite was lovely.
location was walking distance to shops restaurants. It was a few min walk to the seaside walk.
Hot tub was great.
Would recommend in a heartbeat. nothing
- Elena (10/5): Relaxing home away from home - Karen was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond :)
- Virginia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Valerie (10/5): Exceptional - Location was excellent, we could walk to everything, shops, restaurants etc.
- Lorena (10/5): Welcoming, beautiful and amazing! - Everything was GREAT!!
Karen, our host, was always willing to help and we loved the suite. It’s decorated with a very good taste and had everything we need. Oh, and we enjoyed the hot tub very much!! We cannot think about anything we didn’t like!
- Ta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peters (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable beds
Great location
Hot tub on site
- Anonymous (10/5): Lovely family getaway - It was really well equipped and comfortable Nothing
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional - Clean with everything you need! Nothing!
- Susan (3/5): Will not stay there again - The proximity to restaurants, shops and water. Not comfortable for 3 people, the 2nd bedroom with the hidabed was not suitable for a sitting area. Plus, the mold which was the main reason we left a day early.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): We had a fantastic New Years stay here and will be back for sure! - it was super clean, nicely decorated and cozy. we felt right at home and had all the things we need to have a comfortable stay. we appreciated the cooking basics and some condiments in the fridge too! The hot tub under the stars was an incredible way to end 2022 and welcome 2023. It is a basement suite so it was a bit chilly but we brought slippers and that was perfect. Not a big deal at all!
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Halimah (8/5): Very good - It was a flat with kitchen so there was not breakfast included. Kitchen was fine. Steps into the flat was a bit difficult to maneuver.
- Russell (9/5): Superb -
- Dirk (9/5): Superb -
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, friendly hosts, excellent facilities. Nothing we can think of!
- Roberta (8/5): great experience - very clean. good location to the water front use of the hot tub and yard was nice there was a market close by kitchen was fully equipped no tv in bedroom.
- Michele (10/5): we would recommend and stay again. - comfortable, peaceful and well stocked; hosts very nice
- Hannah (7/5): Good -
- Cwisteria (9/5): Superb - The apartment was clean, comfortable, well-equipped and well-maintained. The location in Lower Gibsons was very near the water and a delightful waterside walk. Lovely garden with hot tub for use of guests.
- Karen (10/5): Highly recommended. - Friendly and helpful advice to make the most of our short stay on the Sunshine Coast.. Everything you would need is available. It is so comfortable and impeccably clean. Didn't have long enough there.
- Peet (9/5): Superb -
- Daena (10/5): 10/10 would recommend - The location is a walkable distance from the main attraction/stores/strip of the town of Gibsons. There's beaches close to the house as well.
Karen is wonderful and gave great recommendations for local places to try!
They have a hot tub and a beautiful backyard, and with the weather as good as it was, we were able to take full advantage. Nothing! We'd come back. I'm already looking forward to it for our group, and a potential gift for my parents.
- Bob (9/5): It was very enjoyable. We were only in town for a one-time event with friends. - We were not expecting an AirBnB type unit. It was a suite in the basement of a house. Although it was divided up, the bedroom was very large. It had a TV room with lots of channels. The room could have other uses (fold down game/craft table and Murphy bed), but we used it to watch tv. The kitchen wasn't large but was adequate. We hadn't expected a full kitchen, so didn't bring cooking items. We did buy cereal and milk for our breakfasts, and the coffee maker was excellent. The location was excellent - close to main part of town, restaurants, market, and marina. The kitchen area seating was a bit uncomfortable, but was adequate.
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
