• Ritz.z (8/5): - Spacious room. Very comfortable pillows and beds. Free parking. Nice breakfast, freshly prepared (served, not a buffet) and with excellent fruit. Very friendly and attentive staff. You can really feel the mattress cover when you change position, which is a bit annoying. The shower water doesn’t get 100% hot; we only got lukewarm water...! The toilet has a window with ordinary glass that could give the neighbours a view...! Good breakfast but small portions..! It’s on a very busy road; it made it harder to fall asleep but it was fine during the night.

• Jennifer (10/5): AMAZING FAMILY-OWNED HOTEL WITH VERY ACCOMMODATING STAFF! - This is a small, family-owned hotel. It was really spacious and quiet. The owners went above-and-beyond to make sure they did anything they could do to help me (down to assisting with arranging transportation and translating with tour guides). The breakfast was great as well! It is about a 15-minute walk from downtown Monteverde, but I felt very safe walking around at night.

• Jane (10/5): A Clean and Pleasant Place - The property was exceptionally clean and well-maintained. The surroundings were pleasant and comfortable. Beautiful gardens. Great breakfast. The property is situated at the top of a large hill. If you like a bit of exercise, you’ll get that if you walk downtown for dinner in the evening. Otherwise there are plenty of taxis.

• Bianca (9/5): Dreimal Natüra in Montverde - Die Zimmer überzeugen durch ihre Größe und Stilsicherheit. Die Betten sind äußerst bequem und die sanitären Anlagen geräumig sowie gut ausgestattet. Das Personal ist freundlich, stets erreichbar und hilfsbereit. Hinweis: Der French Toast ist ein echter Gaumenschmaus. Das nahegelegene Stadtzentrum ist ein absolutes Plus. Tipps: Das Restaurant "Treehouse" ist ein echter Hingucker. Im Eisgeschäft "Natu" findest du ausgefallene Cocktails. Der Souvenirshop "Dicoma" bietet schöne Fundstücke an. Jammern auf hohem Niveau: Sobald mehrere Personen die Dusche nutzen, sind Wasserdruck sowie -temperatur relativ gering. Tipp an die Rezeption: Möglicherweise könnte man die Küche noch mit diversem Besteck und Geschirr sowie einem Tuch und Spülmittel ausstatten.

• Stephane (9/5): - La chambre a tout le nécessaire pour passer un agréable séjour. Le petit déjeuner est succulent. La proximité avec des restaurants. La réserve naturelle est à moins de 15 minutes. Il faudrait ajouter un petit rideau sur la fenêtre de la salle de bain car le soir avec la lumière, les voisins du haut ont une vue plongeante sur la douche 😅.

• Ronald (7/5): Lage top, Rest ausbaufähig - Die Lage ist sehr gut dir einen Besuch des Nationalparks sowie in den Ort. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet und sauber. Das FS war sehr dekorativ angerichtet und wohlschmeckend. Ein großer Parkplatz gehört zur Anlage. Die Portionen beim FS sind überschaubar. Für Vegetarier gibt es nur süße Optionen. Warum keine Cerealien mit Milch oder Joghurt? Die Straße führt sehr dicht am Hotel vorbei und ist recht befahren. Es ist leider super laut im Zimmer. Bei Wind ist es im Raum sehr zugig. Der Wind pfeift regelrecht. Dadurch ist es kalt und ungemütlich.

Close to Monteverde Cloud Forest as well as the local village. Although the room was clean, we were disappointed that there was gunk in the sink around the plug hole which let down the overall cleanliness.
• Anja (8/5): Schönes Zimmer mit gutem Frühstück in mittelmäßiger Lage - Die Zimmer waren groß und sauber und gut ausgestattet. Es gab sogar einen Heizlüfter, den wir auch benutzt haben. Beim Frühstück konnte zwischen 3 Optionen gewählt werden. Uns hat es sehr gut geschmeckt und es war nett angerichtet. Auch der Frühstücksraum war sehr schön. Die Lage hat mir nicht so gut gefallen. Es liegt etwas unterhalb einer gut befahrenen Straße und ist daher nicht ganz ruhig. Das Haus nebenan ist eine Bauruine und daher fand ich es etwas unheimlich. Aber das ist nur mein eigenes Empfinden. Mein Freund fand die Unterkunft, von allen Unterkünften die wir in Costa Rica hatten, am besten.

• Shaun (8/5): Comfortable stay with great service and a quiet location — I’d definitely stay again. - The room was exactly as described and quite large, with a good hot shower. The manager was friendly, and communication via WhatsApp was excellent — taxis and tours were easily arranged, and anything I needed was sorted quickly. Breakfast was good. The location is quiet, close to the parks, and near a nice sunset spot. I’d happily stay here again. The fridge in my room wasn’t working. There were a few ants, as expected in a cloud forest, and they didn’t really bother me. It’s about a 10-minute walk to the leading shops, with a steep uphill on the way back.

• sheshagiri (9/5): Wonderful and at a great price. - Great location, plenty of parking, the staff (we only saw one person except during breakfast) was phenomenal, friendly and helpful. Hotel is feet away from couple of stores, plenty of restaurants and the National park entrance is also minutes of drive away. Breakfast was was pretty good where they give you three options the night before and you have to pick one.. and the price can't be beat by any other location anywhere nearby. Such a wonderful place that was budget friendly was very awesome to see. having to store the used toilet paper in a trash can in the toilet was a bit uncomfortable but we understood after they explained. We didn't see a fan (didn't bother us as Monteverde stays cold most times).. they had some kind of table heater which turned on but didn't seem to do much. These are just observations and not complaints as these things didn't bother us or inconvenienced us

• Linh (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel - This motel appears to be new or newly renovated. It was clean, the rooms were spacious and were equipped with nice linens, with the towels changed daily. There was a fan for hotter temperatures and a space heater for cooler temperatures. Mini-fridge, coffee maker and kettle were in the rooms for use. Breakfast was made to order and was delicious. Staff took great care in making sure our needs were met, especially Cesar. The motel was about a 10 minute downhill walk to the main commercial area, but there were restaurants nearby within 2 minute walk. I booked two rooms and stayed for three nights, with my spouse and two teenaged children.
• Tammy (6/5): The rooms looks like what’s shown in the pictures, but is a bit dank - The hotel is conveniently located and everything is within 10 mins of driving. The rooms look exactly like the pictures. Staff is really friendly and recommended great places to eat. They were also attentive to things that need fixing in the room. I appreciated that there was a space heater. Like other reviews mentioned the breakfast was great. - Like other reviews mentioned it is on the Main Street. Door is not soundproof at all and there were gaps between the door and doorframe. Best if you have earplugs - I’ve searched around town and it can’t be found anywhere. Motorcycles are crazy loud. (Door gaps in photos) - I understand that it’s up in the mountains with high level of humidity, but I don’t think the rooms get enough ventilation or sunlight to avoid it from smelling dank or musty. The blanket that was on the bed smelled dank so I took it off. I try to open the windows in the morning but you can’t really do that at night without the bugs coming in without a window screen. It also doesn’t help when they use a plastic mattress cover - it probably doesn’t help with venting the bed. - the ceiling looks old and there are many staining. (See photos) - condensation from bathroom falls onto the floor and there are some mouldy spots near the door frame. (See photos) - curtains don’t block 100% of the light. The lights in the lobby don’t go off until 1 or 2am.

He was extremely helpful in arranging our activities and transportation and made sure that everything went smoothly for us. Breakfast was very charming and beautifully made. The bed was a bit uncomfortable.

• Chititica (10/5): - This is a small family run hotel, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the breakfast had the best bacon I have had in Costa Rica I'd booked for two but my friend couldn't make it and felt perfectly safe I could walk to Santa Elena but also Monteverde for a great view of the sunset Not a don't like but a tip If, as I did you arrive early, make sure you have a signal or message the hotel your eta before you lose it, so you can get in, as I arrived to find the gates closed and wasn't initially able to let them know I was outside
• Claudia (6/5): Leider ungemütlich - Die Unterkunft ist gut zu erreichen und kann prima als Ausgangspunkt für Erkundungen genutzt werden. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich in der Nähe. Das Zimmer war sehr groß. Die Zimmer waren sehr ungemütlich durch die extrem hohen Decken. Es fehlt Dekoration und Bilder an den großen weißen Wänden. Die Bäder haben muffig gerochen. Es war sehr kalt, vor allem im Bad. Es gab keine Möglichkeit, zu heizen.

Warm water to shower was hit or miss, we went during a cooler month and it was pretty chilly at night with no heat. Breakfast was sub par. Ants raided anything that was set on the floor- but ants were a problem at our last Monteverde hotel as well.

It is a family owned business and they really care about the hotel and the guests. The breakfast was wonderful! It is close to a road so the car/motor bike noises can travel into the rooms.

Large room which could have accommodated a larger bed as we’ve had in other place we’ve stayed on CR. Bad staining on ceiling in bathroom and room generally tired looking.

Communicated early with us, they were helpful in every aspect helping us get a trip to the cloud forest set up. Easy walk to/from town & right down the hill from a couple restaurants. WONDERFUL made to order breakfast with great coffee. Room was huge with nice shower. Located among nature with a covered deck for sitting outside. Loved it! There was nothing that could improve our stay.

The location of the hotel is also very good, just at a short drive from the city centre and a bunch of restaurants. It was not really a "bad" thing, but it was a bit cold in the room, due to the cold weather outside. We could have used some heater, but not a deal breaker at all.

In perfect English she welcomed us and told us all about the area, restaurants etc. We asked for advise on the trips we wanted to do. Because she is local she was able to team us up with a very well respected guide for our early morning forest walk. She also booked the transport etc for the night walk. Because we were leaving early for the forest walk we would miss breakfast so Daniela made us up sandwiches, fruit, juice etc to take with us. It was so thoughtful and delicious. Thank you There’s nothing to not like. For us it was perfect. Great location. Spotlessly clean. Great size room. Home made breakfast. Tours booked. You wouldn’t get any better in a five star expensive hotel.

• Nazmin (8/5): good for a short stay in Monteverde - The room was very modern, spacious and clean. The location is amazing and immersed in the cloud forest. It’s a short drive into town which we liked as it meant the location was very quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was really tasty, especially the French Toast! We may have got unlucky but the shower wasn’t hot. It was more hot at times with cold streams. Also, we were 8mins past checkout but almost done and received a knock on our door to say we were late. Most hotels we’ve stayed in offer a slight grace period and we didn’t think 8mins over would be an issue.
