- Brendon (8/5): Great location - The location was awesome especially with the lookout right across the road Couldn't get the fireplace cranking as there was no kindling to get it started we used sticks from outside but was pretty damp from all the rain we've had recently and the logs wouldn't catch
- Laura (7/5): -
- Marie-Claire (8/5): Very pleasant - The setting was lovely and the cottage was well appointed, with quality appliances. The spa bath was great and the amenities of good quality. Better lighting would benefit as the cottage doesn’t get a lot of sunlight inside.
This is only an observation as the place was lovely
- Guest (9/5): -
- Graeme (9/5): - Thr homely feeling It was overwhelming with a mold/wet/old smell, would have been beneficial to have an air out before arrival. Otherwise we loved everything about it.
- Desiree (8/5): Lovely peaceful stay. - It had everything we needed during our stay. Enjoyed the complimentary tea through the stay. There were plenty of huntsman spiders found throughout the cottage.
- Tamara (10/5): The cottage cottage provided up with the perfect escape from a busy life. I felt like I had stepped back in time however - The cottage was so cosy and intimate.
- Rebecca (7/5): -
- Florence (5/5): -
- Gemma (8/5): Cute lodge getaway - Very lovely and spacious cottage in Tamborine Mountain. It gave woodland lodge feel and we felt at home straight away. Did smell musty, maybe offer a candle to light or needs to be aired out frequently. Could do with smaller drinking glasses and more than one coffee pod for a couple for two nights.
- Seigo (8/5): - Very huge room, and huge spa and bed.
It kept clean and comfortable. Hot water has stopped after I storing the water in spa.
Then never come back even tomorrow..
- Martin (5/5): - Cute It’s to old, needs to be refurbished.
- Claudia (8/5): -
- Frances (10/5): -
- Judith (10/5): Gorgeous setting Mark is a brilliant host. great for that peaceful romantic break. - romantic setting and peaceful guinea fowls chasing us.
- Heleena (9/5): Private enough to spend some quality time with your partner but close enough to all that amount Tamborine has to offer - A beautiful little cottage, with several other cottages around it. Quiet, comfortable and clean and only a few minutes drive to shops and cafes. Spa bath was lovely for relaxing. Only some little issues…. Some paper towel in the kitchen would have been good ( especially if you want to use the Webber) and face washers in bathroom.
Also we didn’t have any firewood in the room to be able to use the fireplace, wasn’t a big deal as it wasn’t overly cold but would have been nice on one of our nights there. Personally I didn’t think the breakfast basket we ordered was worth it for $45 especially when there are plenty of cafe options nearby but it was convenient not having to go out one morning.
- Beck (10/5): Very pleased no fuss - No fuss on arrival. Location. Nothing
- Beth (10/5): Incredibly relaxing stay, very quiet and peaceful. - Quiet, clean, great communication with the managers. Great facilities. Comfy bed, modern tv, air con, massive spa bath. Well equiped kitchen. Nothing. It was perfect for what we wanted.
- justin (9/5): Thanks for the tips to make access to the cottage easier. - We love the Gamekeepers Cottage, that's why we keep coming back. The fridge makes a gurgling sound, it's not too loud though. I love the tv.
- Olha (10/5): -
- Yumeko (9/5): -
- Natasha (8/5): Fantastic base to explore Tamborine area. - Fully self contained, beautiful property. Integrated washer/dryer was very handy and a beautiful selection of T2 teas. There is a walk over uneven curbing and gravel to get to the house. Beware with the luggage trolley if you have a lot of gear!
Could have done with more milk and firewood.

- Joy (10/5): We loved our stay and plan on returning next year for another 2 day winter stay. - What a delightful cottage in gorgeous, serene surroundings! The bedroom was enormous and filled with charming furniture and lovely personal touches. The kitchen had everything you could need including an air fryer which was unexpected but greatly appreciated. We particularly loved the fireplace which made the cabin so cosy. The front porch was a beautiful spot to relax on and so lovely during the rainy weather. The memory foam pillows were a little hard for our liking but didn’t stop us from sleeping well.
- Scott (8/5): Amazing 3 nights would recommend. - Photos don’t do this cabin justice. Its in a lovely spot and lovely inside. Bedding was comfy. And loved the couch was a pull out so could watch tv from lounge and be out with the fire all night and in the best space of the cabin. Only tiny thing would be needed more wood. Brought two bags of own. Spa bath pump probably needs replacing. Don’t take this the wrong way tho the property was fantastic.
- Deb (8/5): -
- Gareth (9/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Beautiful cosy cottage - The location, the cosy lounge area with fireplace
- Roger (6/5): Over all a reasonably pleasant stay though the cottage does need further work. - There was no breakfast and we were aware of that. We believe the cottage has seen better days and now needs a lot of work. We met the owner of the cottage who was very helpful with providing assistance with our move into the cottage.
- Wayne (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): Very good - The bed was very good, the fire place, very calm at night, close from the walks and the village. I would have loved to have a better view.
Not enough wood during our stay!! I asked more, not enough, no shower only a spa!!!
- Selena (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous!
- Mykool (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (8/5): Like a stay in paradise - It was probably the best cottage there given the lovely balcony. I wish I could have stayed longer as it really had everything you need to be comfortable. It felt like a trip back in time what with the antique furniture and all. The kitchen was missing tea towels and a cutting board. There was a rotten onion like smell in the path between kitchen and living room. Loved the big TV, wifi worked great. Spa was lovely and the soaps were superb.
- Stacey (8/5): Charming cottage stay, beautiful location - The cottage was very charming, beautiful location and had everything you need for a weekend away Upon entry the cottage smelt musky or damp. There was noticeable amounts of mould on the ceiling in the bedroom which as an asthmatic was a concern
- Lynette (7/5): Good -
- Katia (10/5): Definitely will be back. Very romantic and cozy - Everything looks very cute and cool. All very clean, comfortable and organised.
- Lorna (8/5): Very good -
- Georgia7908 (10/5): Outstanding - The location is exceptional. The trees made the most beautiful, peaceful noise in the breeze. It really felt like we were in our own universe. It was perfection.
- John (8/5): Very comfortable property surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, large trees attracting birds - Great location with a lovely outlook to gardens
- Paulina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (8/5): Quiet location. Easy self check in. Cute cabin for a night away. - Big spa bath.
The Castle.
- Castles (10/5): Exceptional - Well accommodated, serviced every need and beyond. Bin exposure near banana trees, other than that, brilliant all round.
- Angela (9/5): Amazing and relaxing place - Landscape, surrounding, attention to detail in the cottage.
- Nomes (9/5): Superb - Walking distance to the lookout for a sunset.
Nice and quiet
Cute and cosy
Has a large spa
Unfortunately, the shower is over the spa, and for tall people, you have to bend to wash your hair if needed, but definitely do able.
- Elisabeth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bridget (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sergio (10/5): Amazing gateway - Everything Nothing
- Tracey (10/5): A perfect getaway - Beautiful setting, feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The fireplace and spa were amazing. The bed is so comfy.
- Strelan (9/5): Superb - Location was great. A lovely spot for a weekend getaway
- Jo (10/5): Relax and unwind in this amazing quiet, tranquil Gatekeepers Cottage. - The Cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. As we were two friends staying, the pull out sofa bed was very comfortable, as was the main bed. Towels were plentiful and the bathroom included beautiful touches of luxury products to use. It was a quiet place to stay and waking up to the beautiful bird sounds was relaxing. There is quite a walk from car to cottage. This is disclosed before staying.Thankfully the weather was fine for our stay otherwise it would be hard navigating the stoney walk and keeping your belongings luggage dry.
- Grace (10/5): Peaceful and relaxing - Location, textures , fittings, furniture, kitchen appliances, bathroom, bedding and everything I can’t fault I don’t know where the wifi password was so had bad reception during the stay..
- Aboriginalcouple (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karla (10/5): Exceptional - It was a lovely cottage, the sloths were a very cute touched. Loved having the coffee machine and spa bath.
Everything you could want for a great getaway There was no sauces or butter
- Cherie (10/5): Gamekeepers Cottage is a must! - This cosy little cottage was perfect for that quick getaway. Clean and Tidy space equipped with all the comforts and furnishings. Location wise this was a terrific spot nestled right in the heart of Mt Tamborine - 2 mins from the main.
We cannot thank Mark and Linda enough for a terrific weekend, super helpful hosts, who answered all our questions and pointed us in the right direction.
We will be back, cannot recommend this stay enough.
Cheers Cherie and Steve
- Kym (8/5): Nice Cottage - Everything was supplied. Extremely clean. Fireplace was nice, although we did run out of wood. Went on a weekend when we both had the flu, so didnt venture far (too late to cancel to get refund), but seemed to be close enough to most things if you drive (nothing much walking distance). Very comfortable bed. Always like non contact check in/out. Cottage was quite dark. Couldnt work the stove top, had to google it, so instructions on appliances, incl TV and washing machine, would be a good idea. Drove out at night to get takeaway and couldnt find the accomodation on way back as it didnt seem to be lit up at gate.
- Karen (9/5): Superb -
- Clinton (10/5): Exceptional - The Cottage was perfect with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Mark and Linda are superb hosts, we highly recommend their choice in cheese platter and champagne for arrival as well as the breakfast basket. Can't wait to return.
- Lysette (8/5): Very good - Having a whole cottage was magical. It was cute seeing all the other different surrounding cottages also. The fireplace was lovely and a full kitchenette was very convenient.
We enjoyed feeding the birds with the bird seed provided.
The cute teddies on the bed was a really nice gesture for a romantic getaway to celebrate our anniversary. Not a big deal but would be nice to be able to see the tv while in the bedroom. It's nice to have the option to watch a movie while snuggled in bed.
- Hayn (9/5): Lovely quiet location in a quaint village styled setting. - Location was amazing; lovely grounds, a short drive from shops, cafes and restaurants. Good cooking facilities and conveniences, including a very functional private bbq and toasty open fireplace. Fixed showerhead over bath was a bit of an inconvenience for an extended stay. Had to duck under it to get my head wet.
Small price to pay for an otherwise lovely stay.
- Themonos (10/5): Olde world charm with all mod-cons. - The location, in a beautiful grove and among five themed cottages, evoked thoughts of yesteryear. Total charm ... but every mod con you could ask for. Mark and Linda have thought of everything. Could not find fault.
- Wendy (10/5): Gorgeous retreat cottage, perfect for two! - Gorgeous cottage, with fireplace, amazing bathtub and beautiful deck looking out on a private garden. Cottage is built for two, but as a solo traveller I enjoy the luxury of having the place to myself.
Only 200m to the Hang Glider take off point, which is a beautiful place for a sunset picnic.
For winter, in addition to the fireplace, there are also reverse cycle aircon/heaters in each room, and a gas heater on the deck, to make sure you can enjoy all the spaces, all year around. It's not quite walking distance to town, which means you have to get in the car to go anywhere, but then, that is also part of the charm of the "retreat"! (It's also only a 3-5 min drive anywhere!)
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - A romantic little winter stay. They let us check in early and had the fire place going for our arrival.
- Deslie (10/5): Lovely - It had everything, fireplace, spa, bath salts, welcome bubbles for our anniversary, comfortable bed. The list goes on. A lovely quiet getaway, close to all Tamborine has to offer.
- Jayne (10/5): You really could just go & not leave at all if you bring food/wine supplies - Everything, it’s the perfect winter cottage/cabin getaway. Gorgeous setting, large front balcony with bbq, sofa & heating. Cozy lounge room with working open fire place. Big tv with Netflix etc. Large fridge /freezer(well big enough for few days) Plenty tea/coffee options, Cook Books, Games. Then the king comfy bed & spa bath to relax after waterfall walks. Oh and split air con bed & lounge. Nothing I couldn’t deal with cause it’s perfect. But could be issue for some with mobility issues - car park is about 150-200 steps to cottage but they have a trolley to pull your bags to cabin.
- Aline (9/5): wonderful - Fireplace Pillow
- Weeks (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheena (8/5): A quaint cottage in a lovely setting. Fireplace was a bonus. - Lovely leafy surroundings, peace and quiet. Cottage tastefully decorated and spacious for 2 people. Loved to have a fire at night and AC on cold mornings. Trolley was handy for luggage as I was a solo traveller. Unfortunately the weather was not favourable and it was a bit of a walk in the rain to where the car park is located with no cover. Not a problem on a sunny day.
- Black (10/5): We spent the three days snuggled up by the fire warm and snug. - The floor was beautiful all the different rock. Didn’t stay long enough
- Cherie (10/5): Romantic, Cute, Very Clean. - Super clean and had everything we needed. Very cute and the fireplace was wonderful. We couldn't find any places that used Uber Eats to deliver food.
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional - The atmosphere at the cottage was cosie and well equipped. The owner was intouch to make sure we had everything we needed . The cottage is super cute. Also it's a MUST to have a meal at the Irish pub in town. Looking forward to revisiting in the near future. N/ A
- Maggie (10/5): Exceptional - The fireplace, the spa bath, and immaculate, well equipped cottage were exceptional. Beautiful decor and very comfortable bed. Will definitely stay again. Nothing. Time went too fast!!
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Great couples getaway. - Great getaway for a couple, particularly in winter by the fireplace. Owners have thought about every inclusion for a comfortable stay. Loved the front balcony with outdoor heating. Cottage is dark timber lined so we found it a bit on the dark side. Car park is about 70 metres from cottage down a gravel path. Makes it a bit difficult on luggage rollers.
- Nicky (9/5): The property exceeded our expectations. - We had a wonderful time! The property exceeded our expectations. It was presented beautifully, including Aesop body products. A well styled, cosy romantic stay, super comfortable bed. All the pay TV you could want, including apple TV. Lovely big fireplace and Spa bath. Thank you for your hospitality. We will definitely be back. There is nothing not to like about the property.
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - All the little touches That my trip came to an end
- Wayne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brett (8/5): Very good - Big TV. Comfy bed. Great patio. Once finished logs given had to pay and travel 20 minutes to get more. Bath a bit of a white elephant took ages to fill with pumps little effect. Had to bend down to go under shower. If you where older you would struggle to get into bath to have shower.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional - Cute cozy cottage Nothing
- Wilshire (10/5): It was wonderful, we felt very special. - The cottage was very cosy, had all the necessary comforts and more. It was the little touches that made our stay so amazing will definitely be going back again.
- Lyndon (10/5): Perfect weekend getaway. - Close to destinations we wanted to visit. Cottage set up beautifully upon arrival.
- Bel (9/5): Superb -
- Greg (8/5): Comfortable and cosy. - Very private little cottage, convenient to all that Mt Tamborine has to offer. Some distance from car parking area to the cottage by gravel path.
- Luci (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage with everything you could possibly need. Netflix included, fireplace is lovely and easy to manage. Bath/shower was great, very clean accommodation.
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional - The cozy homely feel and timber decor is our cup of tea.
Upon entry,my wife requested that we stay forever haha!!
We had firewood delivered to our door.
We were very impressed and will be back for sure...
- Dion (10/5): Loved our two nights and will be back for more. A hidden gem. - Quiet and relaxing amongst the beautiful gardens It was all good
- Winston (10/5): A perfect, peaceful and revitalising holiday spot - Quiet, scenic, well appointed
- Diana (10/5): The perfect mountain getaway. - Absolutely beautiful accommodation in a relaxing location. Well appointed luxuries. The property was tucked away and secluded even though there are other accommodation facilities close by. Close to local shops and restaurants. Great communication with the managers of the property. N/A
- Maryna (10/5): We stayed for one night and really liked the accomodation - The place is really nice, green area, beatiful garden and lovely house in an old european style. There are a lot of beautiful spots for making photos such as picturesque houses, gazebos and a castle. We liked the location, cave with the glow warms, coffe plantation, st bernard restaurant, waterfall and sky walk are nearby. We stayed in a house that has spa tube, fire place and coffemachine. We didn't use fireplace, as it was hot day, but sitting on the veranda was cool and nice because of rainforest around. And there is also a small bird feeder and various birds flew to the veranda in the morning.
