Guest Reviews
- Levilance (5/5): - The hotel emphasises reducing food wastage during breakfast buffet. Unfortunately I think many having breakfast for the first time will most likely try everything and may eventually not like what is on offer. Lack of insulation even though there was an infrared heater and portable heater. The separate private toilet downstairs was definitely much much warmer as it had heated flooring. Should treat the observatory experience like outdoor camping in winter.

- Peter (4/5): Good facility but lacking in customer service...unfortunate as is expensive...our one night was $500 - we stayed in the observatory and was a wonderfully unique place to spend our 31st anniversary. We slept with the rolling telescope roof door open but the quilts kept us warm. Breakfast was well thought out and delivered a varied and delicious start to the day. the observatory is very odd....and staff should walk customers there and explain all of the switches, how to locate not only the stairs to the bedroom but also the specific bathroom for this lodging...both entrances to the rooms are in a hall with lots of other doors, but these ones are marked with stars--it is in the guide, but after long day traveling, why not deliver the service and actually demonstrate to customers. The room needed a chair....even on 1st floor with the fridge and coffee machine would be good. We had an early train and needed to leave hotel at 8am but as shuttle service from hotel starts at 8:30, they would not alter schedule and bring us to station. That was unfortunate. Dinner was average but expensive. Vegetables were overcooked and flaccid, potatoes were cold and even though there were only a handful of customers on hand for early dinner, waiter was difficult to find...had to find him to get dessert menu, had to find him to sign charge to room. This made for a very frustrating stay which could have been avoided with some customer service attention.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (6/5): Only stay 1 or 2 nights max - Loved the observatory and the quirkiness of it. have to get up a ladder, freezing floor cold room , toilet in another room.. no room for suitcases
wouldn't stay for. more than one night
- Diana (7/5): Good -
- Kath (8/5): Wonderfully different room with superb views - The Sternwarte Room was magnificent A small piece of carpet on the floor of the observatory would make a huge difference!
