• Yann (10/5): Enchantés de notre séjour ! - Très très heureux de notre séjour; tout a été parfait ! Magnifique chemin pour se rendre à l'établissement Sonnenhof. Il est entouré de verdure dans un cadre splendide et très proche d'un point de vue à ne pas rater ! Belle grande chambre très confortable, immense lit et beaucoup de fenêtres qui donnent sur des arbres absolument magnifiques ! On pouvait aussi distinguer au travers des branches les montagnes.On a adoré notre vue. Grands espaces communs très chaleureux et très bien organisés: très plaisant d'y passer du temps. On peut même trouver sur place de magnifiques peluches tricotées et autres très beaux articles ! C'est un lieu champêtre où l'on se sent bien ! Nous y reviendrions avec grand plaisir ! Merci aux propriétaires et tout le meilleur !
• JiWoo (10/5): - The hotel was about 15 to 20 minutes far from main station. The hotel was a little bit away from the main town, but it was silent near thanks to the distance from the main town. Surrounding was really beautiful and it was the best offer ever in whole Wengen!

I am very sensitive to strong chemical smells and this house did not have that, just lots of lovely fresh air. The communication was easy, and we never would have been able to afford to stay in Wengen any other way. We would love to come back! Nothing it was perfect!

• Darian (10/5): Absolut Top, Super Freundliches Personal, für und perfekte Lage, vielen dank wir kommen gerne wieder! - Der Empfang war Super, allgemein ein super familiäres feeling, die Küche war top, mit genügend Ausstattung für mehrere Personen gleichzeitig. Die Lage für den Skiurlaub war perfekt, das Produkte noch in der Unterkunft verkauft wurden war auch sehr toll. Wir haben gerade zusammen 10 Minuten diskutiert, und uns ist nichts eingefallen was man im Verhältnis zum Preis „kritisieren“ könnte.

There were only 3 little hooks by the door but it was not enough to hang multiple towels to dry, much less jackets or other clothes that were wet from the rain. If there were places to hang things throughout the room that would be super helpful!

• Stefanie (10/5): War sehr schön - Stilvoll mit alten Möbeln eingerichtet, Betten trotzdem gut. Dreibettzimmer war geräumig. Küche und Aufenthaltsraum auch gross und gemütlich, Bücher, Sofas, Tischkicker. Auch wenn kein Essen an sich angeboten wird, waren genügend Sachen zum kaufen da (völlig unkompliziert per QR-Code) nicht nur zum Frühstück. Wenn ich besser aufgepasst hätte, hätten wir abends Spaghetti mit Pesto haben können statt ins Dorf laufen zu müssen (wobei die empfohlene Pizzeria auch gut war…). Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis super, sehr freundliche Betreuung. Es war etwas weit von Wengen weg (ca. 20 Min zu Fuss), andererseits liegt es eben da auch schön.
• bravo pellizzari (10/5): - Llegar al Sonnenhof Wengens Original Kurhaus fue increíble! Fuimos a pie desde la estación y cada paso que dimos para llegar valió la pena. La casa es un encanto, tiene un aire muy particular. Se respira y siente paz. Es un oasis en medio de la montaña. Ramona es excelente e irradia alegría y tranquilidad. Nos sentimos por momentos como si hubiésemos estado en la casa de un familiar. Todo muy limpio, ordenado y al parecer mantiene la estética original de la casa. Queda muy cerca de rutas de hiking preciosas que atraviesan bosques y de repente te encuentras con los Alpes de frente. Sin dudas voy a volver en cuanto tenga la oportunidad y espero que muchas más personas puedan disfrutar de esta experiencia en esta maravillosa casa y que siga así por muchos siglos más. Gracias 🤍
• Vladyslav (10/5): Spectacular views - So cozy and quiet home. Perfectly equipped kitchen. 5min walk far you can reach a place with breathtaking view on Lauterbrunnen valley. There are a few sits, so you can make a coffee, go there and enjoy your morning. Highly recommended! A bit far from the train station, 15min walk. But you are walking through spectacular view and forget about the time.

• Mark (9/5): - Das Hotel ist ein einzigartiges Kleinod und wird mit viel Liebe geführt. Unser Zimmer war schön eingerichtet und sauber, die Gemeinschaftsküche ist ebenfalls sehr gut und umfassend eingerichtet - es hat alles, was es braucht. Das Haus hat insgesamt sehr viel Charme und die Aussicht ist super. Die Gastgeber sind bei Fragen oder Anliegen telefonisch oder schriftlich rasch zur Stelle und helfen weiter. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist top! Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Gastgeber sind elektronisch stets erreichbar, halten sich aber physisch im Hintergrund, was an sich völlig ok ist. Dennoch war es irgendwie schade, dass man nie persönlich Hallo sagen und sich auch für den Top Service bedanken konnte. Es war, als ob Heinzelmännchen am Werk sind... :)

• randy (9/5): We would stay there again!! - The kitchen was set up very nice to make your meals & the beds were very comfortable. We did not hear the other guests in their rooms, and for Wengen that price was right!! As an FYI, the hike to the place is paved, but it is a 20-25 walk. This was good for us, but others may want to take a taxi. It would be nice to have some paper towels in the kitchen to use as napkins

• Samuel (9/5): Great value for money in a beautiful location - Beautiful location, large room, common facilities had everything you needed, great price. Had a friendly and relaxed vibe. A good base for a few days in the area. The bed wasn’t too comfortable so I didn’t sleep very well. It should also be noted that while the property was located about 20 mins walk from the main station (which was advertised) the taxis are overpriced to the point of being unaffordable (about 25 CHF for a five minute jaunt down the road) so really your only option is to walk especially if you’re a solo traveller. Not the property’s fault and I haven’t docked any points for it but something to keep in mind especially if you’re spending your days going on long hikes and coming back exhausted.

We were most impressed with the loving care to all the details of this charming abode. Very quiet and peaceful. As we were in Wengen for arunning race, we would have preferred to be closer to the station. However for a holiday or breakaway, the location is perfect.

• Melissa (8/5): Beautiful, cozy place to stay in the Alps - We liked that it was quiet and cozy. We also liked the kitchen facility, and the staff made us feel welcomed. It was a nice walk to the place and great hikes all around. We didn't realize that it was a hostel and that we had a shared bathroom. Looking back, the shared bathroom was an oversight by me. It ended up working out fine, and the bathroom was always very clean.

Slightly removed from the center of town so it’s deliciously quiet and wooded. All we could hear at night was the distant sound of cowbells in the mountains. Incredible hiking right outside the door, comfortable beds and super clean, well-stocked kitchen and bathrooms. And a fraction of the price of the overpriced hotels in town. Truly a magical place in a gorgeous part of the world! Not a thing.
• Anna (6/5): Old, small room with shared bathroom. 6/10 - There is shared kitchen with all necesasay pots, pans and cups to prepare meals. There is waterfall and stream near the place. Check in and check out was easy. The place is old, 15 minute walk uphill from the station. The room was very small, had a double bed, and a small table maybe 90 sqft. had 2 windows not much to see, trees were covering any possible view. It was hot, we opened the window flies and butterflies would get in. no air conditioning. we were there 2 nights. One shared bathroom, we didn't feel comfortable using it to shower. we took a taxi to and from the train station for 20 chf each way. It was not worth the money for the stay.

The short walk from the station was jot a hindrance and was very doable with luggage. We enjoyed the peaceful walk and it allows for seclusion. We were greeted upon arrival and given a tour and recommendations. The bathrooms were spotless. Nothing!

The beds were amazingly comfortable (the pillows were phenomenal) and the facilities were impeccably clean. Didn't feel like a shared bathroom at all. It felt like a beautiful home where you were quietly welcomed with love. The slippers were a lovely touch. It's a 20 minute walk from Wengen but it's such a beautiful walk you don't notice. It's great to be a little out of the way where the only noise you hear is the water, birds and the occasional cow bell They don't advertise that there are basics for sale in the kitchen! Which was awesome and we left some behind for other travellers. Everything was amazing

• Jeanne (10/5): Exceptional - The room was great. Knowing it's also a part of history made it all the better. Yes the floors squeak a bit but for us it's part of the charm. The view is spectacular. Best deal in town ever if you are a little ways out. Nothing. But if you are going back and forth on foot into town, know that while scenic and beautiful. It is just under a mile. Fine for us, but one afternoon it was pouring and we grabbed the taxi and it was 30 francs.

• Linas (10/5): Comfortable and very pleasant experience. - The value for money can't be beat for Wengen and in general, the Lauterbrunnen valley. The kitchen was big and had all the usual cooking utensils one would imagine. We also met the owners, who were very nice and talkative. The room had a double bed and was rather comfortable! It's a bit of a trek from the main train station in Wengen, but overall really not too bad. A bit of a hill, but one could just get a taxi.

The whole building has so much history and character. Worth the walk from the train station in Wengen. Ideal for trips to Jungfraujoch.
• Zsófia (10/5): Best place to stay! - I loved this accomodation so much! Me and my partner stayed here for two nights and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The hotel is in an amazing location and the walk there is very scenic. There is a farmer not too far away who sells amazing local handmade goods at a reasonable price, as well as a gorgeous lookout point. It has an amazing living/dining room area with comfortable sofas, beautiful wooden furniture and a piano you can play. The whole place is very homey, warm and soulful. We both loved the vibes of it! The shared kitchen is very well equipped, it has everything one could possibly need - even a fondue maker! The hosts are also very kind and helpful. They were cheerful, eager to give us recommendations regarding what is worth to see in the region and to help us navigate the town. This place exceeded all out expectations, and if we're lucky enough to go back to Wengen someday, we already know where we're staying :)

We had room number one and woke up with an amazing view onto the alps so close you can almost touch them. The kitchen is really well equipped. We picked up some supplies for breakfast. Instant coffee, sugar, salt, herbal teas were already there in abundance. Plus they sell local cheese directly from the kitchen fridge. Also, when we left, I had forgotten my purse! The owner came running after us (a good 500 m) to bring it to me! That's what I call SERVICE!

The kitchen is well equipped with everything you could want to use plus they provide a wide range of complimentary coffees and many other complimentary things even in the bathrooms to help make your stay comfortable. The views were amazing. We came in the middle of winter and the accommodation was so homely and warm. The sheets smell amazing. It was perfect

• Ioanna (9/5): Superb - The room was lovely, very comfortable mattress as well. It’s a bit out of Wengen but it’s beautiful walk. The very well equipped and super clean kitchen was a plus. I loved my stay here. The floors are a little creaky so you can hear people walking but it’s really not much of an issue.
• Charlene (10/5): We loved our stay at Sonnenhof Wengen und would come back anytime! - The room was very cozy and true to the photos online. The location just outside Wengen and the view on the mountains were amazing. The shared kitchen was very large and dining area very spacious.

• Sarah (10/5): We enjoyed the walk to the property from town with beautiful views along the way - It didn’t feel like staying in a hostel, nice and quiet and no issues with using the facilities! Nothing crazy that we didn’t like, but the floorboards were a bit squeaky which made it awkward walking around at night!

We really liked that it was a walk away from the town centre. (Or cab ride) there’s a ski lift really close by, would be amazing in the winter! Nothing it was perfect
