• Roman (10/5): Eine besonders liebevolle private Unterkunft!!! - Die Besitzer waren besonders freundlich, es herrschte eine familiäre Atmosphäre. Wir haben uns sofort wie zuhause gefühlt. Bewirtung war hervorragend, Zimmer waren sehr sauber, sogar mit Heizdecke im Bett. Die Umgebung, der Ausblick, einfach alles war perfekt. Die Hausfrau hat uns zum Abendessen eine Kleinigkeit gerichtet, war auch im Preis inbegriffen. Diese Unterkunft ist jedem Reisenden zu empfehlen!

Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed and even more. Breakfasts were delicious and the views and the area very peaceful. We hope to come back one day :)

• Elizaveta (9/5): Truly a retreat! - I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for this wonderful place — it was truly a retreat. The house sits atop a hill with an amazing view of the valley, and the village has a magical, tranquil atmosphere. The hosts are wonderful people; we really enjoyed their company. Despina treated us to fresh figs from the garden, and the breakfast she prepared was absolutely fantastic. Thank you again, Despina, for the jar of your delicious fig jam! We’re already looking forward to coming back. Next time, we’ll definitely try the swimming pool under the stars.

• Claudia (10/5): Perfect to relax and recharge - Despina’s and Steve’s country retreat is a wonderful place to relax and recharge. The room was really cozy, spotless and the breakfast was amazing. The highlights for us were the green surroundings, the spacious outdoor area, the pool, and of course Despina and Steve and their 2 dogs and cats - we had an amazing time and would love to visit again. Nothing!

The hosts are living in the property, hence you do not have privacy and you cannot use the big kitchen as shown in the pictures. 2. You do not feel comfortable to relax or walk around the property because you are actually living in THE HOUSE OF THE HOSTS and again this is NOT WRITTEN ANYWHERE IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY, YOU NEED TO GO THROUGH THE COMMENTS TO FIND THIS OUT! 3. The hosts have pets in the house and this is not written anywhere in the description of the property. Indeed in the description, it’s written that the pets are not allowed!
• Adriana (10/5): - The place is like heaven on earth. Quiet and peaceful with a wonderful view of Cyprus nature. Sunset was lovely and romantic. The hosts were friendly and warm. It was a pleasure speaking to them. The breakfast was delicious and her homemade jams are to die for. Highly recommended. . The only disadvantage was from our part since we booked only for one night. Would have loved to stay more nights at such a beautiful place.

The room was comfortable and everything was very clean, the breakfast was outstanding! It included free range eggs from their chickens, home made jams from their fruit trees, a lovey cheese and ham quiche, and very nice cheese omelet, fried tomatoes, mushrooms and also bacon, haloumi and sausages! She even offered us a home made olive pie and also nice fruits like apricots and watermelon. The location has nice views over the village and was very relaxing and quite.

We only stayed for one Night, But definitely recommend longer stays. So you can also enjoy the pool. ☺️ The English Breakfast we got served in the Morning on the terrass with the stunning view was the perfect start in the morning. Thank you, Despina, for this unforgettable start for our Cyprus-Experience!

• Eric (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent cooked breakfast, full English fry or omelette made perfectly by the hosts, also a range of homemade jams, nothing was too much trouble for Despina and Steve. Very comfortable room, immaculately clean and homely, made welcome to share the sitting room with the hosts and other guests for great company in the evening. No problems at all, we were well looked after.

Able to get your own privacy and also be able to get to know them both which was great. Will hopefully get back out to Cyprus in the next few years and make sure I stop off here at some point again! Would recommend to anyone travelling to Cyprus. Nothing

• Dmitry (10/5): Lovely getaway from beachside to a peace and calm - This is a perfect getaway from Cyprus lovely beaches to a remote retreat place, very calm and peaceful. Not far from a Paphos downtown but you can feel the real life on the island. The pool was refreshing, breakfast very large portion and made with love. Thank you very much for your warm hospitality, Despina and Steve. And I love your three cats and two dogs, they also work as a part of your team. It was a pleasure for me to know you and your lovely place Not a complaint but a suggestion- when I have arrived to a Google map point I was a bit confused, the point is located beneath concrete steps and it would be better to put there a simple sign with an arrow, that you need to proceed 20 meters and make a right turn uphill.
• Alison (10/5): Lovely stay in Despina's Retreat - We had a lovely stay at Despina Country Retreat. Both hosts were lovely and helpful and really welcomed us into their home. Great breakfast too. We had a bit of an eventful start to the day we left when our rental car broke down. The hosts went out of their way to help us and were very generous with their time. We didn't mind waiting for the replacement car though as there were a couple of cute kittens to play with :)

We loved the house itself (it was full of authentic things), the view (was nice having breakfast in the morning with this view), they also have a swimming pool, fruits from garden. We had a feeling like we came to visit our relatives, because the stay was so warm and pleasant! Nothing, all was great

Very kind, pleasant and obliging owners/managers The Home guard dog has a scary appearance, but ultimately he is very sweet and cuddly. The colorful Christmastime like illumination of the building isn't exactly my favorite, but it makes sense, to be found arriving at deep dark night.

• Enescu (10/5): You have to try it - Amazing rural location 30 mins of Paphos/Latchi/Polis. Beautiful view/oversee of the Cholou Village surrendered by nature, quietness... Huge positive vibes, lots of love and respect for nature and animals, a big hygge feeling, peace and care for your travel/stay needs. Their garden Is amazing, full of trees (olives, citrus fruit, passion fruit, almonds, walnuts, figs, lemons etc) vegetables, legoumes, herbs ...please ask for a tour of the garden as I was delighted to find and learn a lot. It's Despinas baby. Loads of parking around, though if you make it till here you will know that Mediterranean country roads are really narrow and twitchy so be careful driving from Paphos up the hills. Their home is recently renovated(local farmhouse style) spacious and full of character, Scandinavian feeling with lots of natural wood, candles, local natural stone wall, with spaces to sit/dine comfortably inside (sofas chairs) or outside. Beautiful decorated, flowers spread throughout inside and outside, a lot of the flower vases are recycled by despina, also she is a big fan of knitting. Huge outside pool with clean water in a discreet and private place, I was offered the chance to use it, but kindly declined as I spent 3 days in latchi and planned to hike the area. Also it has sunbeds, fireplace, BBQ and a separate kitchen with a washing machine in case her guests plan to stay longer and get the homeaway feeling. They have a huge lounge area with wood chimney, TV and usually relax in the eve, even kindly offer me free of charge local beer or wine, which I enjoyed; sharing our stories. In offer for their guests are 2 decent size rooms with entrance from their lounge area. In between the rooms there is the bathroom and restroom. Both rooms have separate beds spotless clean beds, fresh linen smell, WiFi connectivity (password on the bedside) Aircon in the room and if you prefer the quietness of the room they will provide also with electric blankets.

We were greeted with lit fireplace and hot drinks (we visited during the winter'ish). The owners are very welcoming. They helped us with some useful recommendation for traveling the next day.

The room and bathroom were very clean and everything we needed was provided (including a welcome cup of tea and a delicious full English breakfast!). • Niovi (9/5): Quite place with beautiful view and friendly hosts - we enjoyed the location of the B&B, at the hill overlooking the village, quiet at night and beautiful view in the morning, breakfast was hearty and tasty and Despoina and Steve were lovely, very hospitable and gave us some nice local tips. Being at Choulou as well was a surprisingly good location as there are a lot of local things you can drive to close by and enjoy. the name of the property is a bit misleading as it is a Bed&Breakfast rather than a "retreat".

• Bartosz (9/5): Like visiting friends :) - The house is located in picturesque village and the view on the hills is really eye-cathing. Owners are super nice and friendly people, always willing to help and advise on your trip. Breakfasts are big and tasty. We were pampered with full English breakfast with cheese quiche and olives on the side. You can ask Despina to prepare vegetarian version as well. Definitely, you will leave the table with full stomach. The room was not very spacious, but it was sufficient. In the evenings fireplace creates cosy atmosphere. Depending on your preference you can focus on your stuff or grab a drink with Despina, Steven and their furry friends. I agree with other comments, that staying here is like staying at your friends or family :) It's different experience than staying in regular hotel. We were staying in late November and the temperature could get relatively low, comparing to seaside hotels. We were provided with heating blankets, so the beds were warm and comfy.

• Malgorzata (10/5): Exceptional - We had the best time at Despina’s. We moved to Cyprus and that was our first stop. They have been so kind and helpful. Despina and Steve are amazing people. We can truly recommend to everybody. Place is in quiet, lovely location, with wonderful view. House has a heart. They took care of us, we had breakfasts everyday, they been all the time there for us, for a conversations, advice and much more. We stayed with two dogs, they didn’t had a problem with that, which was so good, we didn’t stressed about that at all. They always checked if we are stocked with coffee, clean towels etc. We both admire them as a people and they will stay in our memories forever.

I can't find proper words to describe how great owners are, the house is soooo cozy and you feel that you came at home not to hotel, airbnb or whatsoever. Guys, if you looking for something special - yes, Despina's retreat place its unique experience with so positive and kind energy!!! Welcome drinks, breakfast are much better than in 5 stars hotel because its homemade with love. The house is amazingly clean, the bed is comfy, in the bathroom you can find everything what you need. I love banana shampoo. 😅 Outside is fantastic place to see the mountains, big swimming pool and of course, soooo lovely dogs and cats. There is also beautiful road to walk in the morning and greet the sun! I want to come back during Christmas time, pleeeeaaase! 😅
• Michael (10/5): Charming guesthouse with a wonderful family - Delpina and Steve are amazing hosts who go above and beyond to make guests feel at home. We were greeted with a lovely cuppa when we arrived and introduced to their charming menagerie of two dogs and two cats. The room was very cozy and comfortable and the bathroom extremely well equipped. There is a complete outdoor kitchen for cooking. Breakfast was excellent! A proper full English with actual sausages, not the hot dogs that often get served in this part of the world. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the view is awesome. If we weren’t on a tight schedule I would have loved to stay longer. Nothing.

• Simone (10/5): Very peaceful, excellent location, fantastic hospitality - Exceptionally friendly welcome. We were offered refreshments after arriving. The view from their house is stunning. Despina and Steve do everything to make their guests' stay as pleasant as possible. Just one example: I don't tolerate gluten or milk and therefore had my breakfast with me, whereupon Despina quickly adapted the breakfast for me accordingly. We felt like we were visiting good friends.

Despina and Steve where there to welcome us, and show us around, we had our own rooms and bathroom, its a very authentic place, with lots of character. A true gem in Choulou, you actually dont want to leave, as the views are stunning, the pool is so nice and refreshing, and the hospitality from both is top. They offered us even a wine and beer at night, and breakfast is made on the spot. As we are big animal lovers, we loved Jasper, the kitten. I wanted to take him home. All in all, this place is a 10 out of 10. Hospitality, autheniticy, friendliness, and comfort. We will definitely be back! Lots of Love from Marit, Costa and Nefeli. All is wonderful, we loved everything!
