Guest Reviews

- Aurelie (1/5): Immonde - Absolument rien
- Mario (3/5): Really bad breakfast. -
- Selma (8/5): - calme
bon emplacement
petit dej copieux

- Joseph (1/5): Nice hotel stay ruined by dishonest manager - It was a good value for a budget hotel, with kind staff and decent facilities. Leaving the hotel for the airport, the manager booked a taxi for us and said it would cost 2000 Egyptian pounds, or $40. Though it seemed really high, we didn’t have time to investigate other options. When I asked the driver afterwards how much he was paid by the hotel, he said only 500! I spoke with Egyptian friends later, and they confirmed it should never have been more than 500. Perhaps foolishly, I assumed the hotel staff would have been honest.
- Juliette (8/5): - Location, swimming pool, traditional buildings, very individual Breakfast a bit basic and not very hot
- Tanja (7/5): - Hotel outdoor is nice. Workers kind. Breakfast just ok, nothing special. Toilet was horrible. There's was no curtain to protect water during shower. That would make all toilet floor full of water. Towels are old and with holes, I guess everyone use towels for wet floor...
Bed is not comfortable. If you are coming during winter season be ready that it's very cold during night. Heating/air conditioning was not working.
Also, whoever help you for anything is looking for money. Guy that enters to "show you the room" during check-in just waits for money. Soon you give money they are out. This is actually very common everywhere in Luxor.
- Şule (10/5): -
- Elpidio (7/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): Great choice - recommended - Great location, friendly staff, reasonable rates The pool was very cold but that’s the same with most hotel pools in Luxor
- Maria (10/5): -
- Samir (9/5): - very good hotel, all staff was very kind and helpful, not so far from the Nile border in the west side
- Sofia (9/5): -
- Marion BOETSCH (8/5): -
- Thais (8/5): - Friendly staff, price x quality is super fair. Beautiful architecture. -
- Hamed (8/5): - The place, the decorations, and the beds. The room was a bit dusty and required some cleaning
- GÜLTEN (5/5): -
- Monika (7/5): -
- Raphael (8/5): -
- Catherine (10/5): I loved the stay at this beautiful hotel, a safe and quiet place for my family - Quiet and away from noise of traffic, hot water, great food and wine Nothing it was great
Personel her şeye tips bekliyor.
- Veronika (7/5): Preis- Leistung passt.
- Amandine (8/5): Lovely place with very nice and helpful people -
- Hamiber (9/5): -
- SUSA (8/5): - Très bon emplacement.belle piscine.Petit déjeuner très moyen Petit déjeuner
- manon (9/5): Tres bon - Tres bon.hotel vu le prix
Tres bon emplacement calme propre
- Ahmed (5/5): Acceptable but no option to come back again - The people there were nice and welcoming. It looks old and not like the pictures on the site. The room was old and had an old bathroom.
- Ellen (10/5): An oasis - A little oasis of tranquillity. Breakfast was fantastic. Away from the hustle and bustle of the east bank. 5-10 minutes walk from the public ferry to cross to the other side of the Nile. Shops nearby to buy water. The first impression driving down the road to the hotel gives absolutely the wrong impression. The pool being used by people not staying in the hotel.
- Margherita (10/5): -
- Martin (9/5): Superb - The staff was really helpful and friendly!
Overall good value for money and good location, walking distance to the passenger ferry.
- Maria (9/5): The staff were very kind and helpful. -
- Freddy (1/5): Bad -
- Freddy (1/5): Bad - No shampoo, the bathroom was dirty and not working properly.
- Matthew (4/5): Glad we only stayed the one night. - The pool was fine and rooms were a good size. Easy enough to get down town by using the ferry. The property was dirty and the staff were more concerned with getting tips than providing any service.
- Selahattin (1/5): I don't recommend you stay - There was no fridge, kettle or shampoo in the room. Hotel staff are running after you to sell you something. They see you only as a money machine. The air conditioning machine may not let you sleep. Think 10 times if you want to book this hotel.
- Yurina (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (8/5): Very good -
- Laila (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff, good breakfast, sitting areas are available, cleanliness, comfortable Nothing
- Lee (8/5): Peaceful oasis in Luxor, clean and comfortable - Clean and comfortable, lovely gardens, outdoor seating and pool area for relaxing - a great “oasis” to retreat to after a day out in Luxor! Location on West Bank is quiet and only a few minutes walk to the ferries to cross the Nile, a few cafe/restaurants for evenings nearby too. Staff are all really friendly and helpful. We booked tours with the hotel reception to Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and Habu Temples, also Hot Air Ballon over the West Bank - each of the tours was great and went smoothly, pricing was slightly above other providers on Booking.com but the local knowledge was appreciated with so many sights to see here…. Location was fine for us but it is a dusty back street off the main road so at first glance was a little cautious of where we’d arrived at! Hotel management preferred to take all payments in cash and not keen on allowing card payments, prices quoted for tours differed from one day to another too - 7000 EGP discussed the previous night became 7800 EGP thé following morning on asking to confirm the booking…. Agreed on the 7000 again eventually and paid 2000 cash deposit (would not allow card payment) and later they begrudgingly allowed us to pay bal by card with additional 2% then added to cover card fee which we understand but annoying - there always seemed opportunity to take additional ££££! I think the moral of the tale is make sure you’re crystal clear on every arrangement there!
- Anastasia (8/5): Nice rooms, but horrible restaurant - The garden is nice and calm. The rooms are big enough. The bedding was not good in one of the rooms. Very bad blanket and pillow.
The restaurant and breakfasts are horrible.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scott (8/5): Very good - Great location, amazing and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and really good value for money overall. The room was not the greatest but was clean and was perfect for 1 night.
- Vimal (6/5): Pleasant - The hotel is having an amazing exterior gardens and outdoor space The room and bathroom is not that clean. There was no water bottles, kettle, tissues or other basic things in room. The towel provided was also not that clean.
- Vimal (5/5): Passable -
- Barnaby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leslie (7/5): Not a bad place to live for little - It's quiet and rooms are cozy. Quality of beakfast was poor. Food was cold and exposed to open air.
- James (8/5): Very good - You could trust the food eaten, attentive staff and had swimming pool
- Stephan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Neill (10/5): Perfect place to relax, and very inexpensive to eat and drink - Staff friendly, place id fantastic, would highly recommend None
- Alaeddine (7/5): Good - Very good hotel in Luxor with excellent night service. Mr. Essayed Mohammed, who works at night, is very dedicated, prepares breakfast every morning, and ensures the hotel is always safe. Thank you to him for his exceptional work!
- Sophiane (10/5): Very nice place ! - The architecture is unbelievable, hosts are very kind and are always available if you need something, they also offer welcome drinks each time you go to the pool. It’s clean, beautiful and the hotel is only 5min walk from the Nile Pool is not always very clean, but you can swim without any problem
- Salgado-lee (7/5): Good - This is a charming property with unique architecture. It is located in what seems a typical residential area with narrow streets and is within walking distance of a main road and the waterfront.
The rooms are small and basic with air conditioning, and the linens are clean.
What we loved the most is the incredible staff! They were so kind and friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome, happy and comfortable.
It is also very peaceful here. There is no elevator, which was difficult for the older members of our group.
- Raffy (10/5): We loved it and will return. - Everything is perfect. Especially the staff. Namely, Amin. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
- M (10/5): Lovely, relaxing place to stay right next to the Saqarra Necropolis - We had the most lovely two days at Sunset Guesthouse Abusir. The owner and his family were incredibly welcoming and kind providing all meals requested. The rooms were kept in very good condition and stocked with plenty of water. The hotel has a rooftop lounge where you can have meals and drinks providing the perfect location to watch the sunset/rise.
- Kerim (9/5): A friendly hospitable hotel - Extremely friendly and down to earth people. The manager, Raafat, and the staff were wonderful.
- Majid (3/5): Nice charm to this hotel but would suggest avoiding for many reasons - Hotel had a nice charm with the theme of the story of Sheherazade. Large facility but not kept up well. Breakfast was simple and the staff have a hard time communicating in English so it's hard to ask for anything. While the sitting area for breakfast was near the pool and they had A/C units available, you also had to face a lot of flies buzzing around and the occasional lizard-looking animal crawling on the ceiling. Room had good A/C and enough bed space to accommodate a family of 4. Three major issues I had with this hotel. 1. The online listing stated that WiFi was available throughout. It was not in reality. Only available in the lobby or breakfast area and needed to request it be turned on when we came to those public areas. Very frustrating to not have service which then forced us to go out and get 3 SIM cards for our phones so we can stay connected to family and keep the kids preoccupied. 2. The hotel is far from anything. I didn't realize that most of the hotels and activities in Luxor are on the East bank of the Nile. This hotel is on the West side where there are some attractions but not much local life with shopping and eating options. The hotel was tucked away in some obscure alley and it didn't really feel safe to walk around if we wanted to get food. Local hotels I called around to would not deliver to hotels on the West Bank either. 3. Had a dispute with the hotel manager about being charged for breakfast on our first day when the booking was supposed to include breakfast. Frustrating that neither the hotel manager was able to resolve my issue or booking.com customer service.
- Sareega (6/5): The only - Attitude of the staff was good. They were very friendly and helpful. The property itself seemed like it wasn’t kept that well. Menu was restricted and basically nothing for vegetarians. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. Electricity goes for about an hour everyday the rooms are very small. Feels a little cramped.
- Manal (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (8/5): Very good - Lovely premises, breakfast was good, the room was clean and well furnished. The pool area is great to relax in and we had some nice food/drinks from the restaurant. It is conveniently located next to the public ferry and great value for money. The staff were really accommodating, especially Rafael the manager. We really enjoyed our stay! We had an issue with the car they booked but the staff were very apologetic and sorted everything out
- Skinner (8/5): Very good - This is a lovely, friendly, well located hotel in the west bank. The atmosphere was great - both catering and housekeeping staff were excellent and fantastic with the children. The building itself is quirky and feels very calm. The pool and pool area is a real treat after hot days out sightseeing in and around Luxor. The whole experience felt a little more authentic than some of the all inclusive, highly polished tourist alternatives. Breakfast was really nice and staff were really flexible and happy to accommodate our fussy children. All in all a really great stay The building is a little dated and rooms could do with a revamp
- Raffaele (10/5): Magical place with incredible value - We are a family of 6 and this is our honest opinion. We were not given a card and asked to leave a review. This place… unexpectedly magic. It is bigger as the photos show, with beautiful gardens and birds singing in a peaceful atmosphere. At night the cricket‘s sounds, replace the birds chirping. The staff is friendly but not invasive so you really feel relaxed.
Being on the west bank, away from Luxor‘s chaos, means more space, tranquility, less expensive, more genuine local life. The short boat trip over the Nile to reach Luxor is impressive. The rooms are spacious and clean anf the structure spots also a restaurant. Nothing. It’s just perfect. We regret booking only one night here.
- Audrey (8/5): A quite & nice place in a lively neighborhood - The look and feel of the hotel is really nice, with typical architecture and lots of flowers.
The rooms are small but quite. The swimming pool is ok.
- Zülal (9/5): Superb - The employees are very helpful and good people. They supported us in every need. The location of the facility was very good could be cleaner
- Mohamed (8/5): Clean, very friendly and cooperative staff, quite. -
- Marco (8/5): Good place for some days in Luxor all tourist sightes are near. - Location was perfect and the room was good. The facilities were really nice, the bar, the swimming pool and the small garden and patio were really nice The only thing witch can be improved for the room is that at day time there is to litle light in the room.
Also breakfast can be a little more exiting.....
- Andrea (8/5): Very good - The property itself is very old but very unique, it is a very quiet place Was in a very weird alley, breakfast bit bland (no protein just mash and beans)
- Anthea (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abdullah (10/5): Exceptional - The service was awesome, and the reception helped us when flight was delayed specially Ata and Ashraf.
The place is so cleanable everyone is so friendly
Totally recommend it
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, very clean room and bathroom, staff very helpful and freindly and breakfast was excellent
- Johannes (7/5): Good as a basis for sightseeing but nothing special - Good location.
Nice facilities though some wear and tear… has definitely seen better times. Manager very keen on selling activities, excursions, transfers etc.
Only cash payment possible, no cards accepted; and they prefer foreign currency.
- Joanna (9/5): Superb - I liked this hotel very much. Location is perfeect - on quiet West Bank, very close to public ferry boat to Luksor. My room was big and comfortable, as well as toilet. The staff was extremely helpful and always smiled. I like breakfasts on hotel restaurant and lazy afternoons at swimming pool area. I travel to Egypt alone and felt in this hotel and nearby area perfectly safe. Nothing
